Word through the grapevine was that a relatively new and young staffer, barely younger than Ayane herself in terms of how old most of the staff at the academy were in relation to Each other, had been getting into juvenile troubles, fighting with students, getting grilled by other members of staff, ect. He was a college student, but he was also old enough to be a responsible adult.
So Ayane had taken it upon herself to drop a message for said member of staff to come down to the training rooms this morning, and to bring any work out gear he had. It was pretty easy to grab a hold of pretty much any staff or student member when you were a teacher and a member of the academy's security force.
From what she understood, Mr Atkinson also had quite the confidence in himself and his own abilities, she wanted to test these and also probably encourage him to take out any frustration he has on more safe environments, as opposed to getting into disagreements with students or even other members of staff. His staff picture on file was also pretty attractive.
She was already in one of the training rooms, pounding away at a sandbag she had up, in a zone of complete focus. Blow after blow impacted the bag, one after another in relentless succession, the bag shaking from the force of the impact each time.

Well. He'd had a note left for him that suggested someone wanted to spar. And that he was to bring any work-out gear he had. Cade had packed a duffel, and as he walked to the training rooms he truly mourned his sword being locked away. He didn't know who this person was, but he would relish the challenge with or without his sword. He supposed he had no choice. He walked in to see a young woman who looked barely older than himself beating up a sandbag. His eyebrows arched, impressed as he threw his duffel down on the side.
"Were you the one who left the note?"

Ayane heard the man entering before she saw him, or he spoke. She continued pounding away at the bag until just after he spoke, and then she slowed down and cooled down, resting against the bag gently, undoing the gloves she had strapped on, leaning so that she could face him near the doorway. She gave the confident looking man a firm nod.
"That would be me. You must be the Cade Atkinson I have been hearing so much about recently." She smirked and then took a stride forwards, holding out a firm hand for shaking. "I'm Ayane Somerfield. And I'm on the faculty and the security." Even though he was on a slightly different group of staff to her, he was still staff, and slightly out of the right path, so she figured she would give him a not so gentle nudge back in the right direction.
After the offer of handshake, she stepped back and gestured to the bench area where there were a couple of lockers. "You can drop your gear off there near mine. This training room is ours for a few hours." She took a quick drink of water before dropping her bottle back onto her gear.

"Aw man, another staff member ready to bawl me out? Seriously, I'm fine. I know I shouldn't have done what I did. It's just...the things the student was saying kind of made me angry. I know I shouldn't have lashed out, but I have a temper sometimes." He rubbed the back of his neck. Especially about people he cared about...cared about?
"Aw crap that's just great. I've started to care." He shook his head, shaking hands with her before putting his gear near hers and strapping his small leather fighting gloves on. They weren't padded much, but just enough to keep his knuckles from bruising.
"So I assume you heard all about the DL thing. What else have you heard, out of curiosity? There's a few different versions of me floating around."

She chuckled at his comment. He had really mis-interpreted. "No, don't worry. I didn't bring you here to give you a hard time." She smirked. Pondering how exactly she should be wording this. "Try to think of this as more of a meeting to try and give you more direction and focus." The brunette chimed. She didn't want him to necessarily have a negative view on this.
She smirked. "In all honesty, I couldn't give a damn about Dirty Laundry. All I care about is that you've been having issues, you've had your sword confiscated, you have a lot of potential here as a member of the faculty, as far as I can tell, and that you could use a bit of a shove in the right direction." She smiled to the man.

"Yeah it sucked having my sword confiscated. I'm just thankful I got to pick the locks they used so it's safe. Family heirloom. My family would brutally murder me if I lost that thing. Edo period." He shuddered imagining.
"And what exactly what would be the right direction? I honestly didn't think I was going the wrong way. I am angry that they aren't paying attention to the emotions being leveled at Devyn but..." He sighed.
"We going to spar? Honestly, we can probably talk while we do. And considering you're the self-defense teacher I won't have to worry. I kind of feel like the Hulk inside when I'm angry and...so I hold it back. And it's kind of like a pop bottle being shaken."
