NAME: Alexander James Ashford
NICKNAME: Alex
AGE: 18
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heteroflexible
POSITION:College student
FACE CLAIM: Grant Gustin
POWER:
Name of Power
Enhanced condition: So basically, my power raises all of my basic physical traits to the highest they can go. So to give you an example, when I was little, I used to have lots of things that were horribly wrong with me. I used to have Asthma, minor, but still. I used to have to wear glasses from bad eyesight, I used to get sick all of the damn time. That kind of thing. So then, my power activates, glasses suddenly look blurry, I have no trouble breathing, I can run a mile like it's freaking nothing. Aaaaand then the weirdest bit kicked in.
So as it turns out, this stuff also means that EVERYTHING about my body operates at a higher level, including my metabolism and stuff. I need to eat SO MUCH food, to get full. I also cannot seem to get enough sleep, which is odd, considering I used to be up, all night, every night. It was quite a big shock to my system. Furthermore, I managed to break my arm shortly after I got to the academy, and it healed sooooo fast. Like, the break was meant to take a few days to heal to the point of being able to splint it, I slept with meds for 24 hours, woke up and we could splint it. So yeah, not like instant healing, but faster than normal.
Limitations
-So first up, far as I Can tell, I can push my body, wayyyy far. Like, the only people I've seen that are on roughly the same, or higher physical level than me, are also mutants.
-Now so far as I can tell, I'm slightly more flexible than an average person, though not to super human levels.
-Also I've not really gotten any smarter or anything since my mutation has become active, the only thing even kindaaa like that, is that my reaction time is much faster.
-So, although I'm much more physically powerful than most people, if I exert myself too much, I still need sleep like any other person. Actually, I've grown to love sleep.
Side-Effects
-Firstly, anything I consume that effects people's bodies needs to be taken in much larger amounts than normal to have any impact, I need to eat 2-3 times as much as an average person, sedatives? No go, unless it's a LOT. And even then, it's kind a guessing game. Alchohol? That one. Is a fun one. Last time I got drunk, I went through a bottle of vodka in 20 minutes, wasn't even hung over.
-The more I exert myself, the more I need to eat, or I start suffering from sugar lows as my metabolism burns through what I have so damn fast, meaning if I can't eat, there is a very real chance of me fainting.
-If I heal up an injury, I have to take in lots of protein too, or I'll start to get big headaches, and I won't feel nearly as strong. If it's extreme enough I start to feel very sick and weak until I've rebalanced my bodies protein and sugar balance.
-If I don't let myself catch up on sleep, or sugar, or protein, generally speaking I become prone to fainting. Which is... embarrassing.
Journal Entry 116:
So a friend of mine suggested I do this, write out my life story in here a year ago, so now I'm going to do a summary. Rather than entry by entry, this is a straight up me telling
Alright, so hi there, My name is Alexander Ashford. You can call me Alex. I'm currently an 18 year old, male. I stand at about 5 foot 11 inches, I have blueish green eyes (It depends on the day) I have brown hair, which again varies depending on the day I'm out in, sometimes lighter, sometimes darker. I am... Pretty damn muscular. My body is very well toned, I have excellent eyesight, general health, hearing, smell. I'm a pretty good human being, strictly physiologically speaking.
So, I was born in New york, to a couple that I can barely remember. When I was 5, they pretty much disappeared, walked out or something. I have very little memory of that. But I bounced around childcare for just under a year, then eventually ended up with who they found out was my aunt, on my mother's side. They hadn't ever met me before, but they were amazing people, my aunt and her at the time fiancé.
The two of them took me in, raised me up like I was their son, and I never thought of them as anything less. I was just old enough to remember that I had a mother and father, and they weren't them. I was pretty shy. Though, I had this girl, their actual kid, who became my sister. Even though she was barely older than me, we're talking February to May older. She always kept an eye out on me, treated me like her little brother.
So long story short, I was always quiet. Shy. But I wasss a hard worker, I turned out to be quite motivated in school, and really good at science. I was your typical little geek. Liking video games, being quiet, wearing glasses. I had asthma too. It was a perfect picture. And THEN something weird happened. Around my 13th birthday, I started to feel off with my glasses. Eventually I woke up one morning and they were obscuring my vision and giving me a headache, instead of helping. So I took them off, and could see PERFECTLY.
I'm talking, better than I did with them on before this. It was crazy. I had track practice at school the following morning and I outran almost everyone. Which was unusual, because I was usually the kid at the back wheezing. It was crazy. I got home, and cooked and ate a whole pizza. Again, weird because I was stick then and barely ate a thing usually. I had almost been accused of having anorexia by the school councillor once.
This kept escalating, and about a week later waking up, with a much healthier looking body, to several knocks on the door. I was in the process of being recruited by Bellefonte academy. They told me and my parents all of the stuff that was going on, explained everything and why I had to go there. My adoptive parents were a little upset. But I was excited. It was like a super hero comic to me. Me being whisked away to be trained.
Then I learned it wasn't what I imagined. It was high school again, but with super powers. This was my chance to reinvent myself! This was where nobody knew me, I didn't look like a geek any more, I could be social and make tons of friends! And then I proceeded to be awkward and make a few solid friends, but retain my geek status, even if my body gradually became to reflect more that of a jock.
So here we are today, a few years on. Me studying advanced biochemistry with minors in physics and other stuff. I'm a total geek. But according to a few friends, I'm a lovable geek. With abs. Which is nice. People know me for being friendly, but quiet. Athletic, though I can out eat almost anyone, except maybe for that crazy blonde chick I keep seeing doing weird stuff, And I can easily sleep for 13 hours straight and wake up yawning.
Again, my name is Alexander Ashford, I'm a geek. I love sci-fi. I love my friends, I love sleep, I love food. And I love this school.
