Tim figured that this was more the sort of job he could just handle with one or two other people. Normally he'd have just gone down to the lake house by himself. It wasn't that far from the school: just far enough to be away from prying eyes and all, which of course made it perfect for parties and what have you. It was, however, really damn far when your legs weren't working properly and you were pushing a wheelchair along to get there.
Thankfully, there were paths. Also thankfully, Tim had sent a text to a friend who happened to have working legs: Erin Hackett . He'd offered to share some of the money with her (and Karl) if she helped him with the actual setup. That also meant heading down here to actually take a look around before the actual setup: Karl required precise measurements and all.
So Tim (and likely Erin) were wheeling there now. "Hey, just think: we'll actually be at a party with all the cool kids," Tim said, laughing wryly. "Probably the first and last time we'll be openly invited. Unless Erika needs another sound guy," though it did surprise Tim, if only slightly, that people kept calling on him instead of a technopath. Maybe because he was buds with at least one? Well, he wasn't thinking too hard about it: he was just heading with one of his nerdy friends to scope out this boat house before all the drunk idiots showed up to make that super difficult.

What did Erin plan on doing today? Nothing much then the usual gaming, she had recently found out this whole League of Legends hype and tried it out. She was still getting a feel for the game but thought that it was pretty fun. However, her gaming time was to be interrupted by a text from Tim. He was offering her money if she helped him set up for something. She didn't actually know the details behind what he was talking about but figured he would form her in as it became important.
Where he needed help out was far, not like super far but it was farther then Erin attended to go with her own two legs. Still, she did recall that Tim was currently in a wheelchair and she counted him as a friend so knew that she basically had to help him out. She sent him a simple text back saying that she didn't really need her money and she would help out. Erin really didn't need the money; she had enough money that she didn't fully know what to do with it sometimes.
She didn't take long to meet up with him and start helping wheel him down to where they needed to go so that he didn't burn up all his energy trying to get from one place to the next. "Wait, you plan on actually sticking around for the party?" Erin asked, sounding a little shocked. She didn't care if she was invited or not, it was highly likely that she was not going to go. There was probably going to be too many people and she would end up staring at all the pretty girls she could look at but not touch or talk to. That didn't sound like fun at all, sounded like torture.
"What kind of party is it?" Erin asked as she wheeled Tim all the way to the boat house door before letting him handle it.

Tim shrugged. "Probably not for long. It's not exactly the sort of thing that I'm a fan of. Lux either. Plus I'm pretty sure that I ticked off about a third of the house gifts when I blasted people on the Internet." Which was, admittedly, something he really needed to get better control of. He'd have to talk to Lux, see if there was some way to handle these guys and just be awesome at doing it.
Party now though, or, well, pre-party. Tim bobbed and looked up at the boat house. "Uh, not entirely sure. Erika Bellefonte's throwing it, and it's there," Tim raised a hand to point at the house as they drew closer. "Plus I think Frank Cox is involved, few other people. I haven't exactly done too much looking yet," Tim reached a hand up to adjust his glasses and turned to look up at Erin. "I'm thinking it's mostly just the normal party sort of party. Complete with booze, popular people, and stuff that you usually see on television."
Tim turned back, drawing still closer to the house. He looked about, nodding. "And it's our job to figure out how to turn this place into something awesome, figure out some ideas. Karl'll be able to make just about anything we can come up with, and he's backed by the Bellefontes so money isn't an issue. We just gotta figure things out. And hope there isn't some creepy old guy living here," Tim paused, eying the shack. He had heard that there were some odd people who worked or lived in the area. Who knew what was actually in there?

Tim said that he didn't plan on staying long since it was not his girlfriend or his thing at all, and a bit about some stuff he posted up on a blog. Oh right, Erin had recalled seeing that drama going on with that. She honestly was shocked that Tim of all people said the things that he did and well that he even posted anything negative on a DL form that was not directed at DL herself. She didn't really care since it was his choice to do whatever he wanted on the internet and Erin was not planning on stopping or getting involved with any of that. It was not talking about her, she didn't know the story behind things, and again she didn't really care.
It was just odd cause of Tim's blog and how Time was as a person. Then again, everyone was completely different when they were on the computer. There he was not showing his face like he did on his blog so that might have been it. "Why go at all if it’s neither of you guys thing and people won't be pleased that you are there?" Erin asked. She didn't understand the idea of going somewhere where you didn't really want to go or people didn't want you to. That was why she didn't really go to class unless there was a test or something, because she really just didn't want to be there.
She listened as he talked about how Erika Bellefonte was throwing some big party and a Frank Cox was helping out with it as well. Erin still didn't see the point of why they were exactly here since she knew those two came from big money and could have just like hired like party professionals or something. "Alright, sound easy enough. Parenthesis, zero, zero, l." Erin said as she gave a small nod. The shack didn't really look like much. It was big and she figured you could have a nice party inside and outside of it.
"I'm going to do a walk around and see how many plugs this place has so we can get an idea of how much stuff we can hook up or if we are going to need a gen or not." Erin said as she started to first go to walk around the building to see if there was an external plugs.

Tim chuckled. "You really don't get the whole cool thing, do you? You show up at something like this, and you're at least mentioned. Raises your social stock some. Plus, I kinda want to see what it's like. I don't normally get invites and all." Tim added another shrug. He didn't see how it could hurt, not so long as Lux didn't get pulled into something stupid or he and/or Jack got into a fight with someone (a very likely possibility, given how things had been lately). Tim was actually hoping more that the party would help mellow everyone out: things had been high strung after the fire and the whole truth or dare incident had only made matters worse.
First though, first they'd have to get thing set up. Tim bobbed his head: "yeah, you do a perimeter sweep. I'll check the main building, wheel inside and look around, see where we can maybe get some lights or something. Oh," Tim snapped his fingers and wheeled. "There should be a generator or two around, so keep an eye out. Should be able to just yell out to keep in communication with each other."
Tim nodded and started wheeling about the building, glad to have wood under his wheels. It still made him bump every now and then, and there was some concern given the water below, but it still beat out attempting to go through the wilderness.

Erin blinked a few times as Tim asked if she really understood the whole cool thing and then went on to explain it. Erin made a face and puffed up her chest a little. “O-of course I know about the whole cool thing. I just uh…don’t really care about it so much.” Erin said stuttering a little as she tried to show some bravado but it faltered a bit. Tim was a guy so it was a bit easier to be all big and bad like she was on the internet around him but she was still around him in person. It was hard to be one hundred percent tough when you were fifty percent terrified.
“Sounds like a plan.” Erin said as she was already moving to go check around for how things were set up outside the building. She was already pulling her tablet at, planning on using it to take pictures and us an app to work up the schematics of the place. That would make planning and setting up all the more easier and faster. She did stop when Tim snapped and brought up that there should be a generator or two around. Alright, she could find them easily and once she found them she would be able to tell how much power they could really have hooked up and running off of them.
Also if they needed any fuel or anything because it would suck if they got everything done and all set up only to find there was no fuel in the gens. “Ten-Four. Yell out if you get yourself into trouble. Don’t want you falling into any holes or into the water!” Erin yelled out. She was not the embodiment of physical power so her help could only go so far and her ability was not really going to be helping them out in that kind of situation.

Tim chuckled, recognizing Erin's fairly common nerd reaction for what it was. "Hey, it can help sometimes, though I got my girl before I became cool," though he wasn't even sure he could really count himself as cool now. Certainly cooler than he had been. He was certainly making strides with his show, and his current project at least had some responses (even if at least one of those was Jack).
He'd been called by a Bellefonte for a party though, which definitely had to count for some social stock. He wheeled about, looking through the house and thinking up his own schematics. Tim reached down into a pocket on the chair to pull out his phone, punching in some numbers. As he did, he thought of something else:
"Make sure to take pictures!" he yelled, turning toward the door. "Karl's gonna need to see some of it, and it'll be a lot more useful than our memories." Tim was already working to do precisely that, moving his phone into the right position to snap shots of every angle of the house. It should be easy enough to rig up, assuming that whoever was in charge of decoration didn't do anything too crazy.

"I don't need help becoming cool. Not my fault that everyone around me is not as L33t as me." Erin said as she shrugged off the matter. She thought she was cool and that was all that mattered to her in the end. She had everything she wanted minus a girlfriend. She had money, the grades she wanted, the money she could do whatever she pleased with, and was happy for the most part. So yes, other than the girlfriend bit, she was happy with her life and didn't want to do anything that others would say would make her cool or a part of the in crowd.
She didn't like crowds and again was probably not going to 'show' up for the party. She was perfectly fine creeping from a distance and enjoying the pretty girls. "Already on it! Using a program to give us a full layout of the place outside and inside!" Erin yelled back at Tim. She loved her technology and would of course have such a program. She grew up in Japan after all and they had a lot of high end technology. They had robots that taught classes and even robots that sang songs and appeared onstage as 3D holographs. It didn't take her long to get the photos she needed on the outside, but she needed at least a few on the inside for the program to completely work.
One her way back to go inside the place she spotted the generators outside. "Found the gens!" Erin yelled out and then went to check the status of them before she would go inside. They looked to be in good condition, even were filled up with gas already. There was one small problem with one of them, but it was nothing serious. It was just one of the outlets was a little bit, but if you finagled the plug, you should have been able to get it in. "Who is this Karl guy you keep talking about?!" Erin then asked, because she had no clue who that boy was. Her mind went to maybe some secrete male lover, but it was Tim.

Tim definitely should have thought of a program, or he should have thought of having Karl think about it. He just kept wheeling around, relying on the pictures. It wouldn't hurt to have as much information about the place as could be gathered, after all. It was cool to hear about the gens.
"Wicked!" Tim yelled, turning. "Check how they work and if we're gonna need something. Oh, and amperage. More specifics and all," which reminded Tim to check the wiring. He wheeled about, his eyes on the walls, tracing bits around the various junk that cluttered the place. Though he supposed he shouldn't consider all the stuff necessary for doing the whole boating thing junk; he just didn't have a better word for it.
The question had him raising his brows. "You know: Karl. I told you he's probly joining us in the whole clan thing," Tim paused for a moment. "Wow, that sounds so wrong coming out of my mouth. But yeah, Karl's an old bud," Tim wheeled forward, thinking he'd found a wire to start tracing. "We go way back. Other black geek: technopath." Ah, it was so wiring. It looked pretty solid too, though Tim may suggest getting stuff to pin it back...

Erin chuckled a little at hearing the word wicked. Ah, she loved the different lingo everyone used but how most still knew what you were trying to say to them if you were in their ‘class’ in the social structure. She and Tim both fell into the nerd and or geek class. There was a difference between the two but people seemed to use them interchangeably. One was for the ones that were books smart in terms of school. While the other was for those that player video games, read comics, and enjoyed their anime and/or manga. Erin fell into both categories since she was actually pretty smart in school, but just choose not to be.
That was why she was still a Junior when she should have already been a Senior and almost done with her schooling. “Got it!” Erin yelled back, heading inside now and using the program to take photos on the inside. She gave in a rough view of how many outlets there were, and let the program work its magic as it pulled up the interior design. Erin then had to open up another app that basically let your drag and drop certain items onto the backdrop so you could see how it looked with say a poll in the middle, or if you hung up a set of lights on that one wall. You could even have the walls painted to see how it would look on this application.
“Oh, that Karl.” Erin said, but honestly she was still not completely sure what he was talking about. It did sound familiar but she often checked out a lot in conversation. Her bad. She did pause in what she was doing at Tim’s statement about how saying clan sounded bad coming from him. Erin didn’t say anything but her eyes communicated ‘you said it’, because she most certainly didn’t say anything. She might have been raised in Japan, but she knew about such things and what were ‘no-no’ topics. “You are like the most popular geek I know.” Erin said as she moved over to him and handed over her tablet and didn’t really say anything from there.
She figured Tim was smart enough to figure out how to work the layout so he could design an idea of what the room could end up looking like. “I’m thinking for sure we are going to want a DJ set up area and we want to keep that as far away from the drinks and snacks.” Erin spoke up, half talking to Tim and half thinking out loud.

Tim bobbed his head as Erin repeated his other friend's name. "He doesn't socialize a whole lot. I don't know if I've introduced you two or not. Not like he's a hot girl I've got stashed in my closet or anything," no, there were definitely no hot girls in Tim's closet... at least not any more. He'd given most of those figurines to his friends and he didn't even miss them... much.
Tim took a few more photos, bobbing his head as he went. Yeah, this was definitely a place they could set up a party, that much was certain. Tim could already see some potential in here. "Yeah, I know, weird, right?" he said, chuckling and adjusting his glasses. "That didn't happen until really recently, I'm telling you. Got a girlfriend and all of a sudden everybody wants a piece of me."
And the blog certainly helped with that. You'd think that more people would have done something like that, but instead it seemed as though nobody was quite willing to hit the internet. Well, Tim was working to that, which actually reminded him, though he paused as Erin spoke up.
"Well, some of the setup's not our job," he said. He began wheeling out, figuring he had enough pictures of the inside. "We're just supposed to do lights and tech and stuff. Frank Cox is gonna be doing some of the other setup, and probly Erika herself," Tim rolled out and looked around again. "They definitely picked a good spot for it." he paused again, then turned to look toward Erin. "Hey, did I ever ask you if you wanted to be an interview subject for my upcoming project? I can't remember who I bugged and who I didn't."
Post by Erin Hackett on Feb 19, 2015 21:47:15 GMT -6
Erin listened a little more closely as Tim pointed out that his friend didn't really socialize a whole lot. That would explain why Erin had no clue who he was because she didn't really socialize or get out much unless she was bother Tim or Quinn and possibly trying to bother Lydia. Females were harder to bother when they were harder for Erin to be around. At least she was trying, just like she was trying to make more friends. Not that it was having a lot of success, but at least her dad could not say she was not trying. Erin chuckled a little at the whole not being a hot girl stashed inside his closet.
"I would be fine still meeting a guy, but if you hooked me up with a girl well I might just have to buy you a house or something." Erin said, chuckling still. Oh, but she was not kidding. She would really buy him a house if he wanted it in exchange for him hooking her up with a girl. Tim seemed just as surprised as Erin about his whole status change. It did seem to happen that if you ended up with someone you either got popular or everyone hated you. his girl is probably one of those really cute types, one of those way out of his league types, or both. Erin thought to herself, not having actually seen Tim's girlfriend yet.
She kind of didn't want to, so she could avoid that awkward 'dude, your girlfriend is hot and...' well it was best if Erin stopped thinking now. Erin felt a little bit better at hearing that they were not doing all of the setup, just the tec parts. Good, she didn't want to put in a lot of effort to something she likely was not even going to go to. That and physical activity again was not her strong point unless it was a short dash run far away from someone or something. "Frank Cox? That one of the super-rich girls that goes here right? I think I've heard her yelling before." Erin spoke up when the name sounded familiar.
Yes, parties did seem to be that girl’s thing and Erin mainly knew that because she had overheard things. She was then distracted with her thoughts for a moment until Tim was asking her a question about an interview project or something. "Me? No, you never asked me. I saw that you were doing something on it, but..." Erin started to say before trailing off towards the end and then just gesturing at herself. She didn't really think she was the ideal person to be reviewed. She was not really social, played video games, hacked, hung out on her computer, liked girls, and well was a bit odd.
Post by Tim Tawfeek on Feb 20, 2015 19:38:22 GMT -6
"If I meet any girls of that persuasion that aren't taken, I'll let you know," Tim replied. The only other lesbian he actually knew happened to be Zoe, and Zoe was currently with Alice... which Tim guessed meant that he technically knew two lesbians, albeit he only sort of knew Alice in a more general sense, as opposed to Zoe, who he was due to have coffee with and look at her show sometime in the near future.
Tim wheeled closer to Erin, nodding, keeping his thoughts to himself for the moment. "Yeah, that's her. If you haven't run into her yet, give it time," he paused in moving to push his glasses back up his nose. "She'll definitely be at the party, so if you make an appearance, you'll probably see her."
Tim wheeled a little further ,coming around to where Erin was situated. He'd heard her last comment, right up until she trailed off. The wheelchair came to a stop and Tim leaned forward slightly, his hands folded, his expectant gaze on Erin for a few moments, noticing her slight discomfort. "You don't have to if you don't want to. But the idea is to get all sorts of people interviewed, show the whole breadth of mutant kind and all that jazz." Tim shrugged. "It's just a thought, really. I'm sure a few people will volunteer and all."
He paused, leaning forward to look at the generators. "They gonna be enough for what we got in mind?" he asked, tossing the question out for Erin to pounce upon if she needed something more comfortable to discuss.
Post by Erin Hackett on Feb 22, 2015 22:51:23 GMT -6
"They don't even have to be lesbians. I'm game for the Bi’s and the straight. Nothing wrong with just looking and daydreaming." Erin said as she let out a dreamily sigh. She was already practically starting to day dream about it being a possibility. She doubted it. She highly doubted it, but that was what made it okay to day dream about and tell Tim he didn't have to worry about if they liked girls or not. Even if she had a girlfriend, well Erin didn't actually know how to deal with girls that well so it would not matter.
The closest she got to a girlfriend was when a girl confessed to her back at her old school and kissed her. Erin being Erin, freaked out, used her power and well basically always ended up using her power whenever she went around the girl. Even when she wanted to accept the girls feeling and kiss her back, she could not out of fear and thus things got nowhere fast. Tim was wheeling closer to Erin, which did of course make her nervous as it always did when someone got to close. She naturally took a step back but still paid attention to what he was saying. "I probably won't be there, but I'll make sure to at least see who she is at some point." Erin said.
Tim moved even closer then, and of course Erin took a few more steps back once more. Personal space, she was very big on it. She was not as bold when someone was so close to her for a lot of reasons. Tim then started to explain how she didn't have to if she didn't want to and how it was about volunteering and what not. If Tim was leaving it her choice and not asking for her help, then no she had no plans of participating in it. "Well...best of luck with it dude. If you need like more people or something...yeah." Erin said. Offering up herself but not offering herself up to be one of his people to be interviewed.
"We might need a third one...but I'm thinking if we hooks things up just right these two should be able to get them at least to like four in the morning. Past that something is going to burn out. If they want to go longer than that, then a third might be useful." Erin said as she looked over the generators and the boat house once more. "That is just a guess...sort of. I'm not too good with this sort of thing. I'm good, but not too good." Erin admitted. She was good with tec, but that was mostly computers, video games, and the occasional iPod and what have you. Setting up for a party? Not her forte.

Tim chuckled, nodding. Yeah, he could definitely remember what it was like: practically drooling over girls and wishing that someday one would actually come over and talk to you or something. That had been Tim's life right up until he'd gotten extremely lucky with Lux. Thank Fate or Melusine or someone with that, or who knows how he would have wound up. "Pretty sure you already know most of the girls I do. Just, like, go out there. You never know," Tim shrugged, then chuckled. Yeah, he definitely know how that felt.
"You should at least make an appearance. Seriously: get your self out there, let people know you exist. Though the whole interview thing will do that too," that last was said almost in part as a warning. Tim did want this to be a whole raising awareness thing, but it also had that fun tendency of putting people a little closer to the spotlight. It had certainly happened with Zoe.
Tim noted the moving away and he raised his hands, letting his wheelchair stop and showing that he wasn't going to get closer. They did have business to take care of: Tim leaned forward to look at the generators, looking around. "Yeah, if, like, we can find another," he said, looking around. "Aw, hell, who am I kidding? It's the Bellefontes. They can probably have one overnighted from Germany," he pushed his glasses up and looked around. "Shouldn't be too hard to set up. They pretty well make these places so they can be turned into a party quick," Tim wheeled about again, looking. "You seeing anything we're gonna have to be aware of? I'm thinking we're good..."
