What time was it?
Last she checked, it had to have been around 9:30 PM. Which was cool, she didn't have to go back into her new dorm until later on. After the fire, both Security Staff and Squad had to make sure even more safety measures were taken place after the fire. There were more staff and security around the clock and they also had to make sure no students were in areas that the remodeling of the burned down rooms had taken the damage during the fire. If that wasn't enough, they were all supposed to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and honestly Vera didn't feel like being that alert right now.
Too bad she heard from a few students talking and mentioning something about they could smell smoke or someone smoking or even along those lines. So now the young woman was marching her way to one of the doors that lead to the parking lot with a fire extinguisher on hand. The closer she got to the parking lot, the stronger the scent of menthol cigarettes burned her nose. How did she know? Because Vera used to smoke and do drugs back home way before she took up the "healthy" route... which also included tons of alcohol.
Opening the door that lead to the outside, she spotted someone sitting on the ground. Awesome, and they just so happened to have beer and a cigarette lit. It was also good to know that this person surely did look like Devyn from the back. Perfect. This was making her job just so much more easier.
Taking a few steps, she stood to the side of Devyn. A slightly confused and puzzle look appeared on her face. "Do you so happen to know what birds are mostly known for?" A random question, yes but there was a reason she asked.

Devyn had still been feeling so filled with stress and pint up...various things. So the best way to deal with it was by taking time to herself to have a few smokes and some beer. She had stopped smoking way back in the past, but when Zoe broke up with her she picked up a lot of her old bad habits. Those being drinking more then she normally did and going back to smoking. They were not awful habits but when you were a lightweight the drinking was not really the smartest idea, even less when you had a power that was affected by your emotions.
She was mostly alone in the parking lot, finding an area where she could be to herself without being completed spotted. Yet, she forgot that cigarette had a pretty strong scent and that people could possibly report her. Not that she cared much. She knew how to distract and then run if someone’s on the security staff came for her. Just her 'luck' she could smell Vera coming closer. Not that it was a bad smell or anything, but she knew Vera's scent and her nose was being particular sensitive at the moment so she smelled the girl before she heard her speak.
Balancing the cigarette between her lips she looked up at Vera and gave her a confused look. What kind of question was that? Was it a riddle? Why did Vera have a fire extinguisher on her? "Uh...pooping on people's cars?" Devyn answered, but it came out more of a question. She took a long drag of her cigarette and let it out, creating ring with the smoke.

Usually the girl had no issues with people going out of their way to smoke but also drinking? It was bad enough everyone knew that her and Devyn were close friends and everyone thought Vera allowed Devyn to bend the rules but it wasn't going down like that. At least not this time, and when the hell did Devyn start smoking? The last thing Vera wanted was to have to enforce the law, it wasn't really her style.
The telekinetic stood there still holding the fire extinguisher in her hand as she waited for the girl's answer. It hadn't been too cold tonight but chilly enough that she could still see the smoke rising from when she spoke. The cold air also managed to wake Vera up, as if she wasn't already. To think she had to do this as if Devyn didn't know better. "Wrong."
"Actually, birds are known for practicing monogamy. Which means having one partner at a time. They also enjoy fresh air and have a hard time flying away in smoke areas. Just the slightest amount of smoke can affect their flight. They're mostly known for peace and being a symbol of life among others." Tilting her head, her hazel eyes glanced at the bottles before looking at Devyn. "Does that mean anything to you?" She pressed her plump lips together before making a 'pop' sound of them pouting back out.
Again, waiting for an answer.

Devyn didn't mean to like undermined Vera's authority. She had a lot of respect for the other girl and did treat her like she would teat any other security staff member. Normally she was better and picking locations to drink and smoke; mainly the woods, but she had already had a few drinks and wondered out of the woods and ended up in the parking lot. Normally it was fine in the parking lot cause she had a car blocking her, but apparently she started up her fun to early and had been ratted out.
Now Vera was here, looking intimidating and Devyn could not help but to feel a little worried what Vera had planned? Devyn's green eyes looked at the fire extinguisher for a moment before looking back up at Vera as she took another drag off of her cigarette. She gave her an answer, and Vera informed her that she was wrong. Why did Devyn feel like Vera was going to like beat her or something with that fire hydrant? It might have been because she was abused as a kid and not being sober was making her a little bit more nervous then she would any other time.
Devyn just finished up her cigarette as Vera started to talk about birds and how they practiced monogamy. That word that mean being with one partner at a time. Was she trying to tell Devyn something? What was she hinting at, there? Devyn didn't know and was already moving to pull out another cigarette as she cracked open another beer, using her ring to open it. She stopped mid lighting up her cigarette as Vera brought up about how birds had a hard time flying in smoke and what not.
She finished lighting it however when Vera was done, taking a drag off of it as Vera asked if that meant anything to Devyn. "Uh...that I should not participate in orgies and smoke around birds?" Devyn asked as she looked up at Vera. She kept the cigarette in her mouth as she blew out another puff.

In all honesty Vera could have just taken Devyn's cig away from her but that wouldn't really prove anything. It wouldn't even give the girl some kind of message. Devyn was always free to do what she wanted but Vera thought she knew better than this. Had it been anyone else from the Staff, they would've given Devyn detention, if not worse. So now she just stood there, waiting for Devyn to answer her before continuing.
Then, if that wasn't bad enough, she lit up another cig and cracked open another bottle. Which was perfectly fine, this was all a learning experience after all.
The telekinetic simply looked at her friend. This time around she didn't even disagree with the answer. "Birds, Devyn." Her fingers pulled the pin from the small sized extinguisher as she shook it to get it ready. "I'm talking about a god damn fucking bird." She slightly smirked, "Asking you to be as civilized and smoke free as a god damn fucking bird." When she chuckled, it lacked humor behind it but she knew she would be the last one laughing after this.
Devyn had about two seconds to put that cig out before she sprayed her with the extinguisher.

Devyn was really confused. What was it that Vera was getting at? Why did Vera look especially hot when she was all in her work mode? Damn I would bang her right here and now if she wanted me to. Devyn thought to herself, a small smirk spreading across her lips. It didn't remain long as she gave her answer, not sure still what Vera wanted her to learn. She didn't really do a lot of group sex; it was more of something that had happened once. She liked to do things one on one with a person, giving them all of her attention and all of the pleasure they could handle.
Kind of like she wanted to do to several people, but her libido was high right now so that was probably why her mind was in such a place. She blinked several times as Vera started to talk about the birds, the smirk making Devyn all the more devious. "So...you want me to smoke something different so I can get as high as a bird or are you asking me to not smoke?" Devyn asked, still smoking for a moment before she pulled the cigarette out of her mouth to take a sip of her beer.
She offered the cigarette out to Vera, wondering if the girl had wanted her to share. She then swapped it with the beer, figuring that was a safer bet for what Vera might have wanted. "You cold? Wearing that?" Devyn asked, already moving to unzip her jacket so she could give it to Vera. So was doing all of this while balancing the cigarette between her lips and a bottle in one of her hands.

The one time she wanted to give a moral lesson, the one time she wanted to help Devyn without it having to do with an orgasm, that's when Devyn chose not to follow. Both brows raised as she continued to shake the extinguisher. This really had nothing to do with orgies, pooping on cars, or monogamy, but everything about her feeling the need to kill her lungs ever five seconds. So actually going through with this lesson would be so wrong right? Just absolutely uncalled for, right?
Good.
"I am asking you not to smoke, or in other words; Telling you." She pointed the hose at Devyn before she raised a brow, "My nipples are rock hard, so what do you think?" She then gestured her head to the side, using her telekinesis to knock the jacket out of her hand.
She then pulled the trigger and sprayed Devyn with the fire extinguisher. She sprayed it in a motion as if she was trying to put out a fire. Hopefully the cig went out by now, if not, she had no issue continuing. "That's for picking up a fucked up habit." Vera sprayed the girl once more but this time with a smile. "And that's for drinking out in the open."
The girl dropped her arms to her sides as she combed her fingers through her hair. "Get the point now?"

Vera said she was asking her to not smoke; no scratch that, she was telling her not to smoke. Last Devyn checked smoking was not against the law if you were outside and there was no signs around that said any smoking. What did Vera have against smoking? Sure it was not the smartest habit to have, but it was not her body, why did she care? Okay, yeah they were friends but smoking helped Devyn mellow out and she needed all the mellowing out she could get. It seemed like a never ending roller coaster of bad things going on around her and part of her felt like it was her fault. What if she was cursed like her mother said she was for being a beast of darkness?
Devyn's mouth opened to say something about smoking and how she didn't do it all that often but Vera pointed out about how her nips were hard. And now of course Devyn was staring and had more reason to give the other girl her jacket. Her jacket that was mentally pulled from her grasp and a cold and not at all pleasant spray started to hit her. Devyn quickly lifted up her hands to block at least some of the incoming chemicals that were made to put out fire. They certainly caused Devyn to drop the beer she was holding, the liquids spilling out onto the parking lot. Her cigarette was removed from her mouth too, ending up on the ground and put out by the fire extinguisher.
When it stopped Devyn spit out some that had gotten into her mouth, practically glaring at Vera. She was about to ask what Vera did that for but Vera answered. "The fuc-" Devyn went to yell out but then Vera did another spray pointing out that time was for drinking out in public. Devyn spit again, reaching into her jean pockets and pulled out what remained of her pack. She then dropped it on the ground and stomped on it as she stood up. "Happy!?" Devyn asked, spitting again as she tried to rub off whatever the hell was on her.
"Yeah I get it. Stop smoking and don’t drink in public. Anything else you want to punish me for oh great and powerful security intern?" Devyn asked, coming off as a little bitter. Did this stuff stain?

Oh gosh, only if everyone was able to witness the facial expression on Devyn's face during the exact moment the first wave of chemicals hit the girl. It was priceless, totally worth it. She understood why people smoke and drank, she really did. It helped the stress and it helped with washing the pain away but as far as Vera was concerned, she didn't need anyone doing that in the open or anywhere where others could see or smell it. If you wanted to break rules, at least be secretive about it and god forbid someone with asthma walked past Devyn or anyone else smoking for that matter.
Yes, she did consider crap like that now.
Pressing her lips together as she watched her friend destroy the rest of her pack as well as everything else that fell out of her hands and mouth. "I am ecstatic, can't you see the smile on my face?" Clearly there was no longer a smile on her face but you got the idea. Sooner or later she was supposed to feel sorry for spraying her friend with chemicals that had the ability to take out fires, but you'd be holding your breath.
She chuckled, "Look at you, all 'Fuck the Authority'. Wanna say or do anything else that might get me trigger happy?" Yeah, she would be so willing to spray her one more time. "Be lucky I did this instead of reporting you for drinking on the Academy grounds. You know people could smell your ciggs from here?" She raised a brow, "Do you understand how annoying it is to hear people complaining at almost 10pm when I'm just getting out of a work out? You have no idea?"
Post by Devyn Solway on Feb 9, 2015 22:31:11 GMT -6
"You are practically beaming with joy." Devyn said sarcastically, still bitter. She was pissed at herself for crushing her last pack and the wasted money that had gone into them. She at least picked it up and tossed the remains in the trash. No one could say that she was littering then and breaking some other rule that involved leaving your trash out. She also picked up and tossed out her empty bottles, thankful that there was a bolted down trashcan near one of the street lights in the parking lot. She didn't expect Vera to say sorry, why would she apologize for something she intended to do and Dev was not all that mad at her.
Vera was right that Devyn should not have been smoking and drinking out in public but her lack of care was just so high. Devyn removed her shirt then, not having anything underneath and not caring if anyone besides Vera saw as she shook out her shirt to see if that helped get any of the other chemicals off of her clothing. She at least put it back on after a moment, not completely pleased that a lot of it was still not off of her. Looked like she was going to have to take a shower tonight to make sure none was sticking to her. "I might." Devyn said under her breath in response to Vera's question if she wanted to say anything else. She didn't however.
She just glanced at Vera as the girl when to talk about how Devyn was lucky it was her that had found her instead of someone else. Devyn's green eyes went a little darker for a moment there but she bit her tongue to keep herself from saying anything as she gathered up the beer bottles she had not opened yet. "I don't really care if you still report me. The school is pretty much done with me already, not like anything I do is going to be right in their eyes." Devyn said, still feeling a little on the tipsy side so her tongue was a lot more loose than normal. "My bad, Vera. Didn't mean to make your job a pain." Devyn said, letting out a sigh as she used her jacket to carry the beer bottles.
"Can you just forgive me if I share my beer with you? We can go somewhere out of sight and drink them. Need to get rid of them anyways and I don't want to waste good beer." Devyn suggested. It was a shame to waste good beer after all but she did need to get rid of it. Even if Vera didn't report her, someone else might so she had to get rid of the evidence. She of course would take any and all blame if asked about it.

Was that a sarcastic tone? For what it's worth, Vera would've loved for Devyn to keep up with the snarky remarks. It was pure entertainment at this point and it wasn't like she was standing there in 30-something degree weather without a real reason. Heck, Vera was close to just ignore the smell and have some one else deal with it.
She had to admit, she enjoyed the sight of Devyn trying to get the rest of it off of her. It totally wasn't coming off of her shirt unless she managed to have it washed. The telekinetic was going to ask her to speak up after hearing her mumble something. She wasn't too sure what she said but if she had to mumble it, Devyn probably didn't want Vera hearing it. Especially not in her current firefighter mood.
"Okay cool, you're feeling free and bad ass because of everything that happened. I get it, I really do. That doesn't mean you need to do anything or care based on what the people here think about you. You should be bettering yourself for your own well being. Fuck everyone else." Just because she worked for the Academy didn't mean that she felt like being some kind of spokesperson for it. She cared a lot about Devyn, they were super close, and they had a thing for each other. So if Devyn was going to be better, Vera felt as if it needed to be for herself and no one else.
She scoffed, "Trust me. Breaking up fights is a pain, this I can deal with; sort of." Then there was the beer offering, like she could ever turn Devyn down. "Fine. We can drink the evidence in the laundry room while you get your clothes washed because if I have to stand out here another second, my tits are gonna freeze off." Besides, it was the least she could do for spraying her friend.
Post by Devyn Solway on Feb 9, 2015 23:36:04 GMT -6
Devyn could so feel the eyes on here when she removed her shirt, plus she so did check to see if Vera was looking. It made her smirk a little to know that Vera still thought she was attractive or at least was comfortable enough around her to not mind Devyn without anything covering her upstairs bits. She looked at Vera as she put her shirt back on and gathered up her things. She let out a deep sigh but knew Vera was right. She needed to stop caring what others thought of her and just care what she thought of herself. Dev used to be good at covering up like peoples words didn't affect her, but deep down they did.
No one wanted to be seen as the bad guy or the monster when they were not one on purpose or intentionally. She wanted to be seen as a hero, a good person. Sure one that made you realize that you were bisexual or that it was fun to be 'bad' sometimes, but she still saw herself as good. She helped out with SPECTRE and even helped out at the fire. Yet, why did she still feel like she was such a monster? Or was it more so that was how she saw herself and assumed others thought the same. "Yeah, I know. I'll work on it." Devyn said as she let out a sigh. "Thanks, Vera." Devyn said, giving the girl a small smile before spitting again.
Damn she needed to wash that crap out of her mouth and have something better tasting sitting on her tongue. Like beer. She chuckled as Vera pointed out that this was not nearly as big of a deal, that chuckle turned into a small laugh as Devyn smiled at her friend. Yeah, they were closed. Devyn saw Vera as one of her best friend and yeah she knew she felt something more than friendship towards Vera but she knew were Vera's heart was. At least she assumed it was with Riley and all of the complication that had gone with that since Vera first told her about her feelings for the boy.
"Sounds like a plan to me. Also sounds like you just want to get me naked. Miss my body that much, Vera?" Devyn teased as she started to head towards the building where the laundry room was, making sure Vera was following her.

Of course she'd stare at Devyn's tits when she took her shirt off, only to put it back on. She was bi, into both guys and girls, and tits were probably her favorite thing about being a girl.
Honestly, Vera could care less about if people saw Devyn as some sort of delinquent or not. As much as she hated to admit it, life wasn't always roses and daisies. People were prone to being some sort of bad guy just as long as someone didn't like what you did, as if making everyone happy, giggly, and comfortable should be some sort of priority. Fuck that. Clearly Devyn needed to focus on bettering herself, or she could simply just not do that and Vera could always come back at her with another fire extinguisher. Her choice.
"Yeah... no problem." She blew at the tip of the hose of the extinguisher before cocking into an invisible holster; Just as if she was some sort of gun slinging cowgirl. "Anytime." She then followed Devyn towards the laundry room which wasn't too far from the girl's locker room. "Don't. For once I was trying to go the non-perverted route but hey! If you'd rather stay in extinguished chemicals, that's up to you." She smirked, before setting the extinguisher against a wall in the hallway.
Post by Devyn Solway on Feb 11, 2015 16:46:35 GMT -6
Devyn barley had boobs; that was why she didn't really wear a bra all that often and mostly let tank tops under her shirts do the job of a bra, but she did have them. She knew that Vera was bi and she was pretty sure that she was part of the reason why Vera had become sure of it. If Devyn recalled properly, Vera had been bi-curious and then after Devyn and had that moment on the couch Vera was straight up bi. Granted, Devyn was not going to outright take credit for it since she didn't know for sure if Vera might have slept with some other chicks that might have swayed her choice on the matter.
Dev at least knew that she had made a few people understand what their real sexuality was, which mainly ended up being bi or outright homosexual. Devyn shook her head and rolled her eyes a little as Vera treated the fire extinguisher as if it had been her gun. She was still bitter about being sprayed and was coming up with a plan on getting the girl back. She just had to make sure she got her back in the right way that would not cause too many problems between them. She had very few friends left it seemed and she really, really didn't want to lose any more people she cared about. "What if I was allergic to that stuff?" Devyn asked, glancing at Vera. She spit again, still having a hard time getting the taste out of her mouth.
Death by fire extinguisher chemicals. What a lame way to go. Devyn thought to herself, but knew that Vera had not been trying to kill her. She was just being a good friend and trying to make sure Devyn stopped the bad habits before they would come to bite her in the lungs or throat later on. They were on their way to the library, it not taking all that long before they were inside and heading to where the laundry room was. Vera basically told her to behave and Devyn gave something of a sheepish smile as a response. "My bad. I'll be good." Devyn said as she told herself to at least be on her best behavior.
"So how have you been? Now that that damn fire thing is all done and repairs are being made." Devyn asked, sounding slightly bitter about the fire. Was it so hard for them to leave the lives of normal teenagers?
Post by Vera M. Solway on Feb 22, 2015 18:38:35 GMT -6
"I guess we wont really know until we find out, huh?" Had Devyn really been allergic to the fire battling chemicals, then they were going to have a very long night in the med bay. Having to explain exactly why she decided to spray Devyn with the fire extinguisher would possibly get the both of them in trouble, and she could do without. She smiled innocently, or as innocent as that face of hers could manage.
"Let's see how long that lasts." She didn't have to look at Devyn to know that there had to be some sort of smile on the girl's face. Her, behaving? Yeah, okay and Vera was the Virgin Mary. Once they reached the laundry room, Vera hoped on one of the tables people tend to fold their clothes on and flicked a finger up, telekinetically lifting the top lid of the washer and then gesturing towards the door while also closing it. "I've been dealing with a lot even before the fire. I don't even know what's up or what's down anymore." She sighed, "If you can't tell by the look on my face; I'm so over it."
She lifted a hand up, a sign that she needed a drink tossed to her ASAP. "What about you?"
