"Eriiiiikaaaaa!" yelled Frank Cox, popping up to slap against the window that she was pretty sure led to Erika's bedroom. Frank knew this mostly because she'd already tried another one, only to find that it belonged to Elsa Bellefonte instead. She'd taken one look out the window at what Frank had done, said Erika's window was one more down, and went right back inside. Sure, it might have been shortly after their arrival on the first day and all, but that hadn't stopped Frank.
"Eriiiiiikaaaa!" she yelled again, waving her hand. A few feet behind her, her surprise snorted. Frank turned and held up a hand to her lips, pursing them (the lips not the hand) and letting out a "shhh." The creature behind her merely snorted and shook his head, causing the bells attached around his neck to jingle slightly. Technically there were something like twelve or so of the various creatures scattered just outside Erika's (and technically Elsa's and one or two other "lucky" people) cabin. Only one happened to be pooping at the moment as they all milled about, looking as though being reindeer at a ski resort was a perfectly normal thing.
"I did iiiiiiit!" Frank called again, jumping up and down. And yes, even she realized that the statement was perhaps a little too wide, but that didn't stop her from hopping a few more times and dancing a little for joy.

Hearing the sudden tap against the window caused the brunette's head to jerk up. Dropping her sketchbook against the desk, the brunette pulled herself up from her chair and started to move towards the window, only to stop as she heard the familiar voice call out for her. A curious expression fleeted over Erika's face as she hesitated for only a moment. Frank? Oh god. What could she possibly want now? Erika adored Frank to the end of the earth and back, but that didn't stop her from being a little worried.
Reaching the window, Erika unhooked the hatches and opened it. Peeking her head outside, she opened her mouth to speak, but was momentarily distracted by the sound of bells. Lifting her gaze, Erika's eyes widened at the sight of the reindeer; they didn't look as if they belong there at all, and from the looks the various people walking by offered them, she figured that this was no normal thing at all either.
"Frank..." she breathed and lowered her head to look at the energetic blonde once more. "Are those... Are those reindeer?" Out of all the crazy things she had seen Frank do... OK, so this wasn't the worst. Honestly, this shouldn't even have been a surprise. Why she was surprised though, Erika didn't know. She couldn't help but to smile either. It seemed to be a side-effect from being around Frank; you had to be pretty cold hearted not to find her absolutely adorable. "Wow, Frank."

Frank beamed at Erika as she stuck her head out. Then there was some nodding at her query, turning to look over her shoulder at the gathered animals. "Yeah, aren't they awesome?" she said. Her smile widened as she turned back to Erika, who looked only slightly stunned. Then there seemed to be the whole smile and thing.
"I got, like, a super good deal on them too. See," Frank stepped forward and leaned forward to whisper conspiratorially, "it's after Christmas, so lots of rented reindeer are, like, super cheap. I can't actually confirm that these are those reindeer and all, but I figure that maybe if we put them around mutants and they realize that we're all special and stuff they'll show us their hidden secrets. Because if, like ,a reindeer can fly, then surely one of us can too. Or maybe it's magic. Or it has something to do with Santa. But I'm really not sure what to do with them right now, and Elsa said to check with you. RIGHT ELSA!?"
A slightly amused voice called from the next window: "All yours, Erika."
"See!" said Frank, nodding, "all yours! Oh, did you want to try riding one with me? I tried once, but they, like, moved and it didn't quite work..." Frank was already turning, eying the reindeer like they were a particularly fun carnival ride.

Erika had never been a very huge fan of animals. Dogs, cats, reindeer; they were all the same. They made her feel awkward and she had never really learned, or even understood how to act around them. Erika found herself immensely happy that she was behind a wall and if either of the animals moved, she could run away without fearing them coming flying after her. "Well..." the brunette began with a sheepish smile forming on her lips. "I'm not sure I'd call them awesome..."
Per usual, Frank didn't make a whole lot of sense, nor did her words. She was talking about special reindeer, flying and Santa, and then something about Elsa, and Elsa more or less gave Erika the entire burden of Frank's sanity (or lack there of) to carry on her own. At least, Erika had always found the blonde to be exceptionally charming, and this was just another proof that Frank's heart was made of pure gold. "Well," she began, pursing her lips. "As long as the ski cabin owners don't mind-- which if they do, I'm sure you'll pay them-- I don't see why we can't keep them around. Maybe take Elsa for a ride or something. She could use the fun." Erika tossed a glance towards her sister's window.
"As for me riding... I'd rather not," she laughed, shaking her head. "What do you even do with reindeer? Maybe see if you can get one of those... Carts? And offer rides to peop--" Maybe she shouldn't have said that. She doubted Frank qualified for that kind of job, and that sounded potentially dangerous. "Errrr."

"THEY ARE SO AWESOME!" insisted Frank. She followed this statement up by waving her hands in the air and letting out a squeal/scream of pure excitement, since clearly there was no other way for that to be let out. She lowered them as Erika continued, pulling them in and dancing in place as the excitement continued to boil over.
"YES, I WILL DO AL LTHE RIDING AND---waaaait," Frank paused as Erika said something about carts. "Oh, oh, oh!" she hopped up and down, turning slightly and nodding. "We could so hook them up to sleds and go around and have cute romantic encounters and stuff like that. Well, we couldn't, because you're totally taken and stuff, but you probably could with the chef and all," Frank paused for a moment, tilting her head to the side to consider. After a few seconds, she nodded slowly. "Yeah, that could work!"
she turned and looked at the reindeer. "I still wanna try and ride one though, don't you?" she whirled on Erika. Frank's eyes gleamed with that near manic energy and she grinned. "C'mon! When else are you gonna get to ride on a reindeer and not be called crazy for it? Or do it period! You gotta!" Frank was already going around and getting ready to literally push Erika toward the reindeer. It was hard to say what the plan was for actually getting Erika on said reindeer, but in case it wasn't already clear, Frank wasn't exactly great at thinking a plan all the way through.

With a sigh, Erika leaned her chin against the palm of her hand and shook her head. A content smile fell over her lips as she watched her maniac friend. She had dug herself into this one herself, but she couldn't find the means to be sad or even mad about it. Frank seemed to have that effect on her. "Well, there's no one here better at arranging that kind of stuff than you." Yes, Frank was extremely forward, but she made things happen. She dared being herself and pushing people out of their comfort zones. There weren't a lot of people like that at the school, and lucky Erika who was friends with one of them.
"Nope," Erika said, shaking her head. "I don't go along with animals. Never have. They make me feel awkward, so I'd rather just watch if you don't mind." Erika found herself happy she was on the other side of the window right then. She knew that once Frank had set her mind to something, she wasn't easily distracted. She also knew that if Erika really didn't want to, Frank would understand, but saying no to Frank was hard. It had always been hard.
Sighing, Erika pursed her lips as she leaned forward, moving her head about as she looked around before her eyes finally rested upon Frank once more. "Where's Franck?" she asked, hoping to distract her.

Frank nodded and folded her arms. "I am the bestest at this kind of thing,' she admitted with all the modesty such a statement deserved. The reindeer behind her snorted and she turned, giving one the evil eye. She also did that thing where she pointed at both her eyes then at the reindeer and then back at her eyes again. Yes, that's right, Frank was gonna keep an eye on the reindeer, because the reindeer were the irresponsible ones here.
And then back to Erika, who insisted that she didn't do animals. That had Frank rolling her eyes. "Eri, these are reindeer, and there's a pretty darn good chance they've got magic. That makes them totally not--" she paused at the question, tilting her head. "Franck? He's, like, uuhhh, in that cabin," she pointed, "or maybe out skiing or something. We're totally gonna build snowmen later. But now!" she trumped forward, again moving around Erika. "It's time for reindeer games!"
Frank giggled and started pushing Erika toward the reindeer, who were now eying the two with the longsuffering look that pretty well any animal got when they spent more than five minutes around a five year old child (or Frank Cox; about the same, really).

"Sure are," Erika replied with a smile, laughing at the adorable display that followed; Frank was, and had always been, incredibly adorable. How so many people failed to see that, Erika didn't understand. Sure, Frank could be hyperactive, giddy and eccentric, but that was also what made her so great; Besides, Erika might have been mothering the poor girl from time to time, often feeling more like her older sister than her friend, but in a way, that just made her all warm and fuzzy inside, because it kind of felt... More private that way.
Sighing at her failed attempt at distracting Frank. She had hoped bringing up Frank would distract her enough, but it seemed to have been completely in vain. Smiling, the brunette shook her head. "Frank, really," she shrugged. "Animals freak me out. We never had any pets, so I never really got the whole experience and they've kind of... You know," another shrug. "They make me very uncomfortable." She looked at the reindeer again, grimacing slightly as she furrowed her brows. "Can't I just... Like watch or something?" she looked at Frank, her brown eyes practically begging the blonde.
Somehow Frank broke the fourth wall of reality (again) and managed to push Erika from the other side of the window (sorry, I couldn't help myself; ilu fate) and towards the reindeer. Flailing her arms, Erika pressed her lips tightly together. "Fraaaaaaaaank."
Post by Frank "Sunny" Laffont on Jan 20, 2015 23:46:01 GMT -6
"Yessss really," Frank insisted, waving her arms, "don't make me break the laws of reality on you again!" Because of course Frank could, for as we all know, that was actually her real power. The eating stuff thing really just put her on the truth path to discovering that she was, in fact, a living cartoon character, capable of actions and feats that most normal human beings couldn't fathom. Yes, that's right, she was totally bending the laws of reality to somehow enter Erika's house through the window and begin pulling/pushing Erika out. Which wasn't going quite as well as Fate Frank planned, what with Erika being inside.
And that wasn't even counting the fact that Erika had tensed up and started flailing and whatnot. "C'mon, Eri, you're not even dressed for the outside! Hold on for a moment, let's fix reality and get me inside the room with you," and there was some flailing and bodies moving and a loose arm or leg that it was probably best to just ignore and pretend it was never there and then shazaam, Frank was wiggling inside Eri's room through the window, leaning out. "Give it a bit, reindeer! We're fixing reality and it's really hard to do!" Then she turned back to Eri.
"Right, so you need to actually get dressed, then we're so gonna use, like a door and stuff and you're so gonna do some reindeer riding," insisted Frank. She paused for a moment, then made a gesture that looked sort of like a gang sign and added, in a deeper, drawling voice, "Like a bawsss," (boss, for those fortunate enough to have never heard it said).

Sighing, Erika stood in the middle of her room, shaking her head as she tried coming up with ways to get out of this mess, but knowing the blonde, she didn't even stand a chance. She really didn't want to do this, but Frank had already made up her mind, so the least Erika could do was humor her, right? Had Everett seen her now, she was sure he'd have quite the field trip. "Alright, alright, alright," she sighed, still shaking her head.
With that, the brunette nodded as she made her way towards her closet. She was wearing a pair of pajama pants and a singlet, but she wasn't planning on being out for long enough for that to actually matter, and quite frankly, the brunette didn't exactly feel up for dressing up just to ride on a damn reindeer...
Pulling out a warm hoodie with fake, cotton fur on the inside, Erika put in on and zipped it shut. She also pulled a beanie and a scarf and put them on as well. Walking over to the door, Erika pulled on a pair of warm, fluffy boots. "Alright," she said again and turned to face Frank. "Let's get this over with, and if I kill Rudolf, I take no blame." She grimaced slightly at that as she cast a worried glance towards the window...
Elsa, if you're listening in... I totally hate you for not saving me.

Frank waited impatiently while Erika got dressed, offering her help every so often, mostly in terms of throwing various items of clothing at Erika and generally prolonging the process further still. Soon enough, Frank would be pushing/pulling Erika through an actual door now, determined to get the Bellefonte out and greeting the reindeer.
"stop worrying!" she said, waving a hand dismissively. "They're totally nice and tame deer! Like, they're used to being around kids and junk, and we are so obviously better than kids!" Though in Frank's case that was slightly debatable. She nudged Erika a little further. "And you totes don't gotta worry about killing Rudolf 'cuz c'mon," Frank snorted and rolled her eyes, letting out a few sort of barked laughs. "Everyone knows that the flying reindeer are magical and immortal."
And with that bit of obvious logic and lore being said, Frank walked Erika closer, eventually coming within arm's reach of the reindeer. Most of the animals regarded them with a sort of weary expectation, the same look that nearly every living creature got after spending an extended period of time around Frank Cox.

Despite Frank's words, Erika didn't feel a whole lot more comfortable with the idea of being around these monsters who could easily enough kill her with a shake of their head. She didn't exactly want to die from getting stabbed by something with horns. That was not how Erika wanted her precious life to end. Not that she wanted her life to end at all, but that was a whole different story altogether.
"I don't know, Frank..." she said, looking at the reindeer as if they were ready to pop up on two legs and go on some kind of sadistic murder spree. "Can't I like... watch from the sidelines?" she cast a glance behind her, hoping that she'd see her sister -- or someone -- anyone that could help her. "Please?" she was practically begging now, and yes, Erika knew that she was trying to talk FRANK COX away from something.
Why couldn't Ellen have like, showed up to distract Frank, so that Erika could have made a run for it? Or maybe something -- like the owner of the reindeer, could like, show up and demand them back, or something?

Now, in theory, Frank could actually tell when she was pushing someone too far. It did often take a while, and usually Frank realized it after she'd already pushed beyond some sort of breaking point or something. But there was a fairly decent chance that she would notice. Those things did happen. Sometimes. Most of the time. At least often enough to make note of it.
"Awwww, c'mon!" Frank practically whined as Eri finished her protesting. "Have you ever tried riding reindeer before, huh?" she poked her friend in the stomach. "Well, have ya? Right, didn't think so," yes, there was no break there. "Don't you wanna experience the awesome?"
Frank gave Erika the big, puppy dog eyes for several long seconds. If this didn't break her down, nothing would. The reindeer apparently weren't going to help though: they were mostly just standing around and snorting.

Sighing, Erika already knew that the fight had been lost. Erika had always struggled telling Frank no, even when it went against her better judgement. It was no huge secret that Erika put Frank above many of the other people she kept close. "But..." she attempted as she looked at Frank once more. "I--" Well, Frank WAS right. Even Erika couldn't argue that. "Well..." No, she really didn't.
And then there was the puppy eyes, and Erika was completely sold. Utterly and totally. "...fine," she then said, smiling sheepishly at the blonde before reaching her hand out, squeezing Frank's shoulder. Well, at least the reindeer was used to people....right? It wasn't as if Frank had--- noooo, of course not.
"Let get this show running then, I suppose." She tossed a skeptical gaze towards the reindeer, almost staring them down. Her brows furrowed slightly. Well, at the very least this would turn out to be rather interesting. Erika didn't quite know how to handle it all, or what to expect, but she figured that as long as Frank was there, it would be somewhat alright...God, she truly put too much faith in the girl.

Frank beamed as she saw and felt Erika giving way. She bobbed her head a few more times before darting around, getting to work on prepping the reindeer. Said animal now looked even more resigned to what was happening, perhaps simply realizing that Frank was a force of nature and submission was simply the way to go.
"More than fine," said Frank, bobbing her head and turning, "it's gonna be totally awesome!" Frank then reached up, pulling a bit to arrange a blanket that she'd thrown over the creature to act as a saddle. "Right," she said, tapping the animal a few more times. "he's totally set up now!"
Frank then moved over to Erika, grabbing her hand and pulling her closer. "C'mon! This will be totally awesome!" Frank nodded and, assuming Erika didn't fight her overmuch, she placed her friend's hand on the creature. "See? Not scary at all!" Frank was, meanwhile, moving around, getting ready to practically toss her friend onto the creature's back if that's what it took.
