NAME: Olivia Nicole Chance
NICKNAME: Not yet. Depends on the person.
AGE: 17, born July 14, 1997
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
POSITION: Belleforte Student
FACE CLAIM: Elizabeth Gillies
POWER:
Name of Power
Water Manipulation: Can manipulate any form of water, whether that be liquid, solid or gas form. Drawing water from plant-life or gas takes immense concentration, and at the present time she can't do it very well because of the minute details she has to pay attention to. Her attention span isn't that large yet. Also has a sense in her mind that tells her her surroundings so she can locate the water better. She manipulates the water with her mind for the most part, but for greater precision using physical movements works better because eyes focusing wavers, and a well placed foot or hand does not. For physical movements, think water-benders from Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra.
Limitations
Can only draw water in its regular forms within thirty feet. For things where the water is embedded in it - plant life for example - it has to be within six feet of her. The further she is away from something, the less powerful her maneuvers with her powers can be. If she's touching something, her powers are at their maximum. Using her powers puts a great strain on her, whether that is mental or physical exhaustion. Unfortunately, she doesn't have very good power control and so she is often very tired from unintentionally using her powers and tiring herself out. Drawing water from plant-life takes an even bigger toll on her, as it requires not only manipulating in the minute details, but taking something that a living thing needs to live. Her powers, for the most part, are constructive. When she uses them destructively, she can get headaches.
Side-Effects
-tiredness and irritability depending on how much she uses her powers (not while she's using them but afterwards)
-changes in body temperature according to how she changes the water (during use)
-locating water with her mind link takes a larger toll than locating it with the eyes and can give her headaches sometimes
-headaches with the use of her powers destructively
APPEARANCE SECTION: My character looks just like Elizabeth Gillies, my playby. Olivia has dark hair. She walks confidently most of the time, and with a heck of an attitude. She's 5'6" tall and weighs 140lbs usually. Olivia enjoys switching up her hair colour sometimes. Her natural colour is somewhere from dark dark brown to black though. She has stunning blue gray eyes that can sometimes look a bit silver at times too. Usually when she's using her powers. She likes her piercings too, although she doesn't always wear them either. She basically just does whatever she wants to do with her appearance. Sometimes her hair will have highlights in it too. Sometimes the colours even correspond to her powers, but not necessarily of course. She also has a small tattoo on her back of a tear. Or is it a water droplet? She won't tell without someone asking her first.
She also has a few small scars on her body in various places. They aren't all from the same things. She doesn't mind talking about them, but they aren't badges of honour. They seem to be things of shame for some reason.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Olivia prefers denim and leather. She does occasionally wear skirts or dresses, but they have to fit in with her personal punk kind of style. Anything with attitude will be something Olivia might wear.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Olivia's personality changes like the weather. Sometimes she can be very friendly, and the next minute she might be standoffish. Sometimes she'll even be angry. She has a heck of a temper too. Her rages get out of control sometimes. She has anger management problems because of that too. This could stem from the fact that if she's in a good mood, she'll trust fairly easily. To the outward observer though, good moods are few and far between for Olivia. She can be a total snob, or a total mean girl sometimes too. When she's in a better mood, she might be found listening to country or pop. When she's sad, different country or pop. When she's angry, she usually listens to punk rock. She dislikes classical for the most part though, and hates metal with a passion.
Despite being so aloof though, Olivia fears being lonely. Not left alone, but lonely. She's fine with being alone when she wants to be. In fact, if people don't leave her alone sometimes she'll rage at them at a moment's notice. However, she is nice inside. When people try to get to know the real her, it makes her happy. Olivia will try most foods once. It's her way of being spontaneous.
EXTRA QUIRK: Anything with cheese is something she'll eat. And that says something considering her appetite is considerable for anything. It's huge, and it never affects her weight at all.
FATHER: Jackson Chance
MOTHER: Amelia Chance (nee Roberts)
SIBLINGS: Connor Chance, Sasha and Sara Chance (twins)
PET: Nikita (a female wolf cross)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None yet.
WORTHY MENTIONS: None.
CHILDHOOD: No-one's entirely sure what Olivia's childhood was like. A happy little rich family it seemed. She went to public school, but she never really made any friends. She was mostly found in the corner of a classroom or the playground reading books or listening to music. The other kids found her a little weird, really. She was a cute little girl though, and the teachers tried to help her make friends. She did have a friend once in a while, but she didn't need friends for the most part to be happy. She just played with her toys and continued on.
People do know, however, that she was always hesitant to talk about her family. It's a secret that she hasn't divulged to anyone yet. Will she at some point? Of course. But when?
ADOLESCENCE: She had a normal teenage life until she was fifteen. In January of the year, she had an accident that put her into the hospital in a coma. It's thought that it may not have been simply an accident, but something to do with her family. She doesn't remember the incident now that she's awoken from her coma, but considering her family was almost committed for insanity because they talked about floating explosions of water, it is thought that this is when her powers manifested themselves.
However, something happened at the time that put her into the hospital. She has forgotten all that. Perhaps she will remember it at a later date. The school discovered that her powers had manifested, but by that time she was already in the coma. She was brought to the school soon after the incident. She's just woken up from the coma. Hard to say how she'll react to learning all this when she actually wakes up. As to how the accident was caused, it will be interesting to hear her point of view as well.
ADULTHOOD: My character isn't an adult yet.
SAMPLE: Alex needed to do this. It had to be done. She'd snuck into the restaurant. Her target was a doctor. A psychiatrist to be exact. She knocked out a waiter, put on the outfit and went into the back room that the doctor had rented out for a business party he was having. The party hadn't started yet. And the guests were going to find out that rather than a business party, it was instead a surprise party. She snuck behind him and put her hand over his mouth.
"If you say anything, I'll kill you quicker than anyone can find you. Trust me on that. Now, to tell you why I'm here. You might remember a stint where you were a psychiatrist at an Asylum. I forget the exact name. Something like Happy Acres, I'm sure. There was one particular day when this psychiatrist in the story decided that a girl who had such complicated 'imaginary friends' and who survived alone for upwards of three years couldn't be sane. It wasn't possible. And that she was just a normal little girl with an illness. Instead of trying to treat her though, you signed off on an order to lock her up until an evaluation set so far down the road she'd never be free again. And when that evaluation came up, you planned to execute her to rid the world of a witness. Then your plans went horribly wrong when a bunch of ex-military busted into the asylum and took anyone they thought might help them. Including that little girl. The little girl's back. She has a message for you." Alex chuckled, putting a knife to his throat.
"Boxing Day has arrived. For you, that means you leaving this place in a bodybag, and finding the ground in a pine box." And with that, she slit his throat and walked out.
With so much exposition about what went on Alex's past though, perhaps the doctor hadn't been the only one to hear it. She left the room, washing her hands in the washroom and changing into a new outfit before sitting down at a booth and ordering sushi.
