Pup! You got a costume?

Devyn sent the text message to Andrew as she lay in the middle of the floor in her room. It was Halloween today and she would be damned if she just stayed inside all day and night. She didn't really do the whole going out for candy, but she certainly did like to dress up and play tricks on people. Well, dressing up was her favorite part of it all. Regardless she had all the hours of today ahead of her so she could figure she could probably hang out with a few of her friends today and tonight. She sent the text to Andrew first because he was at the top of her list. She knew for certain the boy would probably just stay in the whole holiday and she was not going to allow that.

She didn't even wait that long for Andrew to possibly respond back or not and was already getting up off her floor. They could still go out and buy one for Andrew if he did not have one. Devyn already got her costume, she was going to be a doctor having felt going as a dog would be cheesy. That didn't mean she didn't plan on possibly shifting and scaring the tar out of people. Ah, the plans she had in store for her and Andrew. Tossing her costume into her favorite backpack she already headed towards Andrew's room. He was not really having a choice in the matter. Devyn was going to be dragging him off campus and down to the Residences area for some fun.

If the door was open she would just go right in, let Andrew grab what he wanted but they would end up in town regardless. They had to call a ride since borrowing one would involve Devyn having to ask the school. Asking the school would lead to her having to be watched while down in town still since the school was not fully over her destruction of the library. "Are you fan of Halloween?" Devyn asked Andrew as the car came to a stop and she got out; after paying of course.

Andrew fingered through the fridge for a bottle of water, a scream blaring out of the television as whatever horror movie was playing for the Halloween special continued its roundabout plot which never seemed to make sense in the end anyway. Not that the boy had much experience when it came to such things, after all he had hardly even watched one since his sister had once shown him alien, a movie that also managed to kill his child hood dream of becoming a astronaut in one decisive blow, thanks sis.

Andrew, snatching the bottle out and pushing the door closed, drifted back towards his room noiselessly, just as a terrified woman on screen said.

“Maybe we should split up? It can’t go after both of us right?”

He rolled his eyes, pushing open the door and walking inside, see what I mean? Andrew tried to ignore the following cries of alarm, some of which coming from the people watching; sitting at the base of his bed while picking the novel he had been reading from the floor, or, more precisely, trying to read.

Wind tossed Edwyn’s hair from side to side, the low steppes stretching out before him like a rolling carpet which only ended as the new morning mist shrouded their visage from view. Fren whinnied beneath him, the horse shaking his head and only then did he realize he had been pressing his boots tight against its flanks for fear of falling, almost apologetically, the young man let his legs relax.
“New to riding?”

The voice came directly to Edwyn’s right and he looked over quickly, taken aback to find one of the Aldrethck they traveled with had come up beside him, the man’s hair tied into the intricate knots of his people, wide bow cast over one toned shoulder as though its heavy wood weighed little more than a pouch of coins. “You a scribe?” the man indicated to the array of books fastened to Fren’s saddle.

“er-“ Edwyn tried to give his best unassuming smile “something like that.” the man merely nodded in reply, staring of into the distance, seemingly lost in thought. Just as the young sorcerer began to assume that was all he would say, the gruff Aldrethck began once more.

“Three of our companions are Stoln vigil conjurer; I doubt lying to me is in your best interests right now.” Edwyn moved before the man could do little more than blink an eye; casting half a glance towards where Reshnna rode, a few hundred feet ahead, talking animatedly with a couple other Aldrethck he tore a small token from his saddle, quick as a flash and held it so only the man could see.

He rose an eyebrow though otherwise did not seem overly concerned “by the hundred princes, put your sigillary away, if I was working with stoln vigil why would I tell you and don’t you think me falling to the ground in convulsions as we were talking might, just perhaps, raise a few eyebrows?”

Edwyn felt a blush rise to his cheeks, that was true, but he didn’t put the stone away, its carefully inscribed runes rough beneath each finger.

“How do you know?” he asked carefully, the man chuckled answering.

“we of the horse tribes are not the fools you of the seven kingdoms think us, watching the grass bend upon these plains throughout one’s life can teach you many things, surviving it, well, if you manage that you can learn much more.” he smiled, as if this actually answered the question. Edwyn breathed a long sigh, if the stoln vigil truly were among them, they didn’t have much time.

“Why help me?” he asked.

The man appeared confused for a moment, then let loose a torrent of laughter which boomed from his chest. “My good wizard, why do you not think it is simply out of my good spirit and naturally helpful tendency?” he shrugged before adding “it could also be because, well, see I have already tipped them off about you, yet, someone in Threnvar was very interested in your arriving, alive, preferably and as I hate to cross such a man, it is in my best interests to alert you beforehand.” he paused once more “though I’d make it quick, you have about thirty seconds I’d say.”

Edwyn had scarcely time to gawk, before he surged forward, whipping the reins, man’s voice following him saying.

“Put in a good word for me if you make it to Threnvar!”

Edwyn dug his feet into the horse’s sides, pushing it forward, towards Reshnna, fifty feet, twenty feet-

“Twang!” the sound of an arrow cut through the wind and his master dropped from the horse, shaft sprouting from one shoulder.

“Ring ring ring!” Andrew visibly jumped, his phone emitting the continuous noise from the floor near his foot, pulling the boy back to Bellefonte. At first he wondered who would possibly know his number, then he worried it would be Jen; it rang again, after a long moment he shifted his feet underneath him, putting down the book and grabbed the still protesting device from where it rested.

Andrew blinked looking at the message again, thinking he must have misread. Devyn?

Sure enough not five minutes later he found himself walking just behind his friend down a ominously vacant hall, girl having blatantly ignored his protests, including the fact that he didn’t have a costume or for that matter have the slightest idea where they were going, besides a vague “in to town” and something else about him being to ante social. It was two more halls, then passing through one door, before they were out into the brisk October air, the blustery night churning leaves to blow like flurries of snowflakes snagged up by the wind. Devyn stopped abruptly, himself all but running into her back, though thankfully he pulled to a halt at the last second. Without preamble she whipped out a phone and placed a call, cab pulling up beside the curb, to which Andrew found a mixed blessing, for one he was rather apprehensive, but he was also shivering quite a lot and in the end the instinct to find warmth won out over common sense.

Most unfortunately, the inside compartment was little comfort, shivering the whole trip, only realizing as the lights of buildings began to swim past cheerfully from behind the cars fogged windows that the two had left Bellefonte’s grounds, something the young shifter realized with a start, he hadn’t done for half a year. The taxi parked, both of them getting out, Devyn who seemed finally to have relaxed her impenetrable silence asked if he liked Halloween.

Andrew glanced about, pumpkins lining the side walk, people, streaming by, some of them dressed as pixies, some as ghosts and every other creature or profession, et cetra, imaginable. He nodded hesitantly, all too aware of the seemingly non- mutant pedestrians strolling past, for one reason or another, the fact made him even more nervous, inquiring.

“er- D- Devyn, w- what are w- we doing here?”

Devyn worked fast, in terms of when she had something planned it was going to get done and no amount of protesting would change it. You practically would have to yank her back and let her know that you really, really did not want to do something. If you didn't, well Devyn would just assume that you were fine with it and just go about the task. In Andrew's case, even if he put up a fuss it was not really going to change anything. The boy was too anti-social; at least that was what Devyn thought, so his protests to going out were pretty much ignored. He would have to either really step it up and make it clear he did not want to join her, or just break down and cry. Both would work, but since Andrew did neither they wound up out of his room, down the halls, and outside.

Devyn took a moment to consider their mode of transportation. Not bothered at all by the fact that Andrew ended up running into her, since she did stop out of nowhere. It didn't even take that long for the cab to show up and soon the two were sitting inside for the drive. Devyn didn't even notice Andrew shivering and if she did she would have figured it to be just nerves. She loved the cold, or at least she was used to it because of her power. Covering yourself in shadows was pretty much as cold as it gets so Devyn was not bothered by it. Plus she had a naturally high body temperature, not like some of those who controlled fire but she was still pretty warm.

She stayed silent the whole ride, not wanting to really give away what she had planned and also that fact that part of the plan was making it up as she went along. Devyn planned things, but she never fully planned them out to the smallest details. She liked to leave a little bit of wiggle room in case things did not go along the lines she had thought up. After paying and they were out of the cab she asked if Andrew liked Halloween and as pure usual Devyn got a nod, that was followed by stuttered words. Devyn chuckled as she reached out to ruffle Andrew's hair, a little rougher than normal. "Well first we are going to get you a costume, so prepare your body for some dress up time. Then we are going to go have some fun." Devyn said with a sly grin spreading across her face.

She then turned and started to lead the way to where she knew they could get some pretty cool costumes. The place had a large selection and Devyn had ties to the one of the people working there and figured it was not really breaking her whole 'be good' if she was just flirting a little. She always flirted and that was something that was just too hard to break. So long as she just stuck with the flirting she figured she would be fine. "You have any idea what you might want to be?" Devyn asked as she looked to make sure Andrew was following and keeping up with her.

Devyn cast a maniacal grin, green eyes twinkly wryly in the street’s semi light; not exactly granting Andrew a lot in the way of reassurance, but at least he wasn’t focused on the biting cold for a second or two, that was a plus right? Nonetheless, she reached out and tousled the boy’s disheveled hair, responding to his query in a tone of finality, a tone he knew far too well, even if he did try to protest it anyway.

“er- b- but- I- I-“ Andrew blinked, Devyn was already off down the street, not seeming to have heard him, hair tossed to one side by ruthless wind whipping down the road. He shivered, teeth chattering, the T shirt not being much help, then -crossing his arms to stave off the renewed gusts- he followed, muttering under his breath.

Well, Andrew thought dejectedly, so much for a quiet night in, his mind turning to the vague wish that he had grabbed a jacket before having left. Devyn was still a few feet in front of him, dead leaves crunching beneath her feet, direction unwavering as he glanced about, trying in vain to give himself something else to ponder over, a car or two driving by. Andrew had heard of Kalispell of course, the closest town to Bellefonte, a majority of students went here on the weekends or after school sometimes, excluding himself. Yet now that he was walking down its streets, he felt, off ease and not just from Devyn’s abrupt abduction, the whole scene was just so- so-? Normal? Maybe he had simply been too used to Bellefonte were at any moment someone might come walking through a wall, or sprint past in a blur of movement, but the feeling left him nervous; at least, he figured, more nervous than usual.

Andrew, skin now riddled with goose bumps and hair on end, hurried up behind the girl, who in turn, pivoted, glancing at him inquisitively, her question coming all but instantly, leaving him unsure how to reply.

“I- I d- don’t really know- uhm-“he cast about for an answer, yet couldn’t find one; not that the incessant frostbite really helped matters. “I- I c- could just become a dog.” Andrew meant it as a joke, his lips twitching halfheartedly.

Devyn heard the slight protest that Andrew tried to make but she paid it no mind and walked on. She was already set in stone that they were going to have some fun out and about in the town below the school. Andrew needed to get out and be around those who were not mutants and were still mostly in the dark about the special human beings walking among them. There were not really that many mutants so it was not like they were a huge threat but after what happened with SPECTRE, Devyn was being a bit more careful. She didn't want to be the reason why Andrew ended up getting hurt or anything bad along those lines. her fist clinched for a moment at the memory of it all, but taking a deep breath she let it slide off of her.

The chattering of Andrew's teeth did catch Devyn's attention. Guess he did not get the bonus of being naturally warmer and since his power is not like mine he would not be used to the cold. Devyn thought to herself as she took off her backpack. She held it with one hand as she worked to remove the jacket that she was wearing off. She tended to wear layers during this season and Winter because she knew her friends got cold easily. So she would always wear a jacket to give to them in case they needed it. Clearly Andrew needed it, so after some work, she managed to remove it and held it out for Andrew to take.

"Put it on, it might be a little big, but it should keep you pretty warm." Devyn said as she gave Andrew a grin. She still kept walking, expecting Andrew to grab it and put it on while they were still in motion. She didn't want to waste time standing around outside in the cold if they didn't have to. Without her jacket on she was down to her short sleeve shirt, but didn't even look phased by the cold breeze that swept past them. She asked him what he wanted to be then and Andrew was not really sure. Well, that just meant they were going to be trying on a lot of things then until Andrew picked or Devyn saw something that looked really good on him.

She did in fact chuckle when Andrew pointed out that he could just become a dog. "That is going to be for later. For now we need to wear costumes like the rest of the non-=special population." Devyn said as she clapped her hands together when the store was close. There was still a little bit of walking, but soon they would get there and Devyn would hold the door open. The store was practically dedicated to Halloween on the inside and Devyn was confident that they would have no problems at all with obtaining a costume.

Devyn glanced back towards where Andrew walked, her emerald eyes flashing amber beneath the streets orange glow and shadows dancing along the sidewalk before them, figures drifting by like masquerading wraiths. The boy’s friend paused, after a moment’s thought, she shrugged off her coat and passed it to him, seeming unaffected by the nights chill, or at very least, indifferent to it. Despite this, as well as her insistence, Andrew found himself shaking his head no, he tried to push it back, but if she would not take it -adamant in her decisions as Devyn usually was- he, at very least, gave a stammered thanks, before pulling the coat on gratefully.

The girl continued, howling wind already beginning to die when they turned down a second street then passed a cross walk, thankfully not having to wait long for the light to change. Less people seemed to be around this area of town, a couple men lounged in their revelries just outside what appeared to be some type of pub, but otherwise, it was completely deserted, drunken tunes and the two’s footfalls being the only sound to pierce its stubborn silence. Andrew was just able to feel his fingers again when Devyn spoke, her words were vaguely jovial yet held a hint of sincerity that caused him to glance towards her, trying to see if she was kidding. All he received was the same wicked grin.

well, he thought with an inward sigh, at least this shouldn’t be a boring.

And with that they turned into a quant shop just off the street, the last line of the intoxicated men following low and mournful behind them.

“So a bottle of brew, it’s the only thing I find true, on this voyage, of the damned!”

Devyn handed over her coat for Andrew to take and he were shaking his head know. Devyn just simple gave almost a glare at the boy, a growl threatening to escape from her throat. She again was not really giving him a choice in the matter. She was taking care of him and since he was clearly cold it made sense for her to let him wear her jacket. It was not like it was a girly coat and could easily pass to actually having been Andrew’s coat. So she didn’t really understand why Andrew was putting up a fuss on the matter in the first place. When he did take it, she grinned and gave a nod before focusing back ahead on the task at hand.

She still never really understood why the shy types always seemed to put up a fuss when kindness was given to them. Was it that they didn’t want it or was it more they thought people pitied them? She tucked that thought away to think about later and also because thinking about it too much would remind her of Zoe. Damn she was still having a hard time getting that girl out of her head, but at least she was actively trying to instead of wallowing in the past. Even if wallowing in the past felt good in a remembrance of the good times but then depressed later because of the present kind of way. She was not kidding about the whole using their powers for later.

What mutant did not want the chance to use their power in front of others and play it off as a costume or that they were actually a dog in Andrew’s case? Plus it was Halloween, no one was going to believe anyone for what they said they might have saw. This was the best day to get away with a lot of things and not have to worry about any real consequences so long as you didn’t get caught. She held the door open to the store for them, walking in after Andrew entered. “You smell that? Plastic, various materials, people, and the potential of fear in the air.” Devyn said as she took a deep breath, taking it all in for a moment. Then headed for the costume section and expected Andrew to follow, only to stop when she saw a practically good looking store employee wearing a sex bunny costume.

“I would like to hunt that down and eat it several times.” Devyn said under her breath as she smirked a little before shaking her head and regaining attention. Focus on shopping, not the shop keeper. Devyn scolded herself before moving once more towards the costume. “I’m going to be a doctor, if that helps you figure out what you want to be.” Devyn pointed out as she looked at all the costumes hanging up along the walls.

Upon entering the store a small bell tolled, announcing the duo’s presence with its solemn ring, the girl’s words barley able to offset the blast of stagnant air which seemed to rise up around Andrew. Plastic, Devyn was right, the material came primarily to his mind as well, yet that was far from all: rubber, glass, recently dried paint, costume makeup and a hundred other scents which formed the all but permeable air. Truth be told, Andrew had never liked the smell, or these places for that matter, ghastly masks hanging from each wall grinning down at him, their grotesque, mutilated or otherwise just plain creepy faces making goose bumps jump out across the boy’s skin. It was the kind of place that protagonists in a horror movie would choose to hide as some maniacal monster hunts them through a deserted town; high roof broken only by the iridescent lights scattered about its surface, ground floor seeming likewise cluttered.

Devyn didn’t seem quite so bothered by the shop as Andrew was; in fact, now that he glanced her way the girl appeared far too preoccupied with her own musings to be that worried about anything at that moment. He waited, not really impatiently, more so with a nervous tension, until once more she seemed to regain focus, eyes alighting back in his direction.

Devyn asked Andrew what he wanted to be, student giving a hesitant shrug in return, not even having known he was going out tonight till about thirty minutes ago, besides, he fingered his back pocket finding five crumpled dollars, he couldn’t afford much. He glanced over the shelves nearby: the masks made his skin crawl, most else was far too expensive yet-

Andrew gave a small grin, pulling what was essentially a torn up bed sheet with hundreds of holes cut into it from behind a few other costumes. One or two of the tears appeared to have been made by moths and not out of design though he couldn’t help but appreciate the reference none the less. He used to love that episode of charley brown, watching it with his sister every Halloween night when they were younger; before every Halloween night became the day when she would throw the wildest parties, even by his sisters standards, before people passed out on the couch and before he locked the door to his room to stop the drunken teens from wandering into it by mistake.

“er- i- it doesn’t have anything to do with a doctor, t- though, w- what about this?” Andrew asked hesitantly, holding up the rather simple adornment so Devyn could see.

Devyn smelled it all, not to the greatest detail that she would in her other form but she smelled most of it. It was a small little bonus she got that to her mutation that she greatly enjoyed. It helped her track down her friends, enemies, and let her know various smells in the air that let her feel like she had an edge over people. Playing games like hide-and-go-seek made her practically feel like a champion when she knew the scents of the people shew as trying to find. She honestly preferred the scents of certain people over the ones she currently smelled but she was not going to be picky. The scents in the air now were a lot better the other scents she had smelled over the years. Plus she certainly was not going to make too big of a fuss knowing that when her sense got out of whack it became downright painful.

Nothing in the store scared Devyn, not much scared her. Unless she came across a giant needle, or a bottle of pills she was fine. She did find it funny that she didn’t really like doctors or nurse but she was dressing up as a doctor. Devyn had no worries at all, for once in months. She was just trying to have some fun, enjoy herself, and get back to how she was before. At least she wanted to not let things weigh do heavily on her like they had been in the recent months. She still wanted to be a better person and she was going to be, but she at least had to be her old self. Life was less stressful that way and most certainly more fun. Devyn of course planned to buy Andrew a costumes; she was not going to let any excuse get in the way of her fun…their fun.

Devyn tilted her head to the side when she saw Andrew reaching for something. Looking through the costumes and then pulling something out for her to see. She stared at it in silence for a moment, trying to get if Andrew was being serious or just kidding. With his words she figured that he was being serious and if he really wanted to have…that, then she guesses she would have to deal with it. Not that she was just going to roll over about the matter right away. “I mean, if you want. Not wanting anything a bit more?” Devyn asked as she looked around. “If you want it I’ll get it for you, but don’t like settle for less if you want something cooler.” Devyn said, not meaning to imply that what Andrew picked up was lame or anything, but it was just so simple.

Devyn looked like a dear caught among headlights, expression frozen in a mixture of confusion and horror, as, with a glance towards the girl, Andrew’s own nostalgia fueled decision faltered, before simply simmering away into a stagnant pool of embarrassment. She took a deep breath, still seeming put off, though managing to control her emotions to a reasonable degree; the young shifter’s own face however burned brighter than the bulbs above, as if somehow captured by the car light with her, both standing in an awkward silence for what seemed to be millennia. Finally Devyn spoke, her words, as always, broke through the noiselessness with all the ease of a sledge hammer through glass and, in turn, made him feel like rather a large fool. Andrew quickly shoved the costume aside, pushing the now barren hands into their respective pockets, not at all sure what to do with them as he spoke weakly.

“I- It was just an idea” the boy honestly wished he hadn’t acted on that initial impulse, fingers clenched about the wadded five dollar bill in his left hand. no matter what, he didn’t want Devyn paying for him, she had already done far more than he ever could ask for, not just on this occasion, but since the boy had first come to Bellefonte academy, more than most people he had known in all his life really.

None the less, trying to defuse the situation, Andrew continued down the row, looking at one or two things but nothing really caught his eye, nothing affordable anyways.

Devyn could not help but to react the way she did, she figured that this would be the time to try and go all out. She figured Andrew would have picked to be a knight, the typical The Hawk, Iron Man, or really any of those tough super heroes. She didn’t think that Andrew was going to pick to be…well basically a sheet with holes in it. It was a classic, going back to when people did dress up as ghost and what have you. It just…well it was odd but she did her best not to judge. She would get him whatever he wanted; she just wanted him to pick something because he wanted to be it and not because he was worried about price.

Devyn started to feel bad when Andrew started to turn red. Her green the boy shove the costume away and hands going into their pockets. Devyn scratched at her head, trying to figure out what to say to assure Andrew that it really was okay if he wanted that costume. “It’s not a bad idea. If you want it we can get it. I just want you to know that I’m buying the costume for you so you don’t have to worry about money. Just don’t get anything that is like two hundred dollars or something.” Devyn said as she moved over to where Andrew put the costume. It didn’t take long for her to find it, pulling it out, and holding it out to Andrew if he really wanted it.

Andrew however was moving on, apparently looking at more costumes. Devyn held onto the first costume that Andrew picked out and followed after him. They did say that your first choice was normally what you really wanted so she figured she carry it just in case Andrew didn’t find something that he liked. She did want to try and change the mood a little, thinking for a moment before a smirk slowly took over her face. “You kiss a girl or boy yet, Andrew?” Devyn asked, curious.

Andrew browsed the isle uncertainly, only turning when next she spoke to see the girl holding up the glorified bed sheet at arm’s length, posture vaguely reminiscent of someone holding a dead rat by its tail. At this he couldn’t help, but grant a small strained grin, besides, now that he stood a few steps away the young shifter saw just how truly tattered the thing really was, frayed in places and threadbare in others; he realized, with a renewed wave of embarrassment, that he must have looked rather foolish holding it up like a child proud of a trampled dandelion it had discovered.

“er- n- no thanks” Andrew answered in reply to both Devyn’s suggestions, before glancing back towards the shelves, vainly wishing to escape most of the humiliation as his ears burned a bright hue of magenta.

What was I thinking? he wondered once more, shaking his head in a dog like manner and continued to scour the rows for something that, for one, didn’t cost too much, though two, would also not leave him looking like the ghost of Christmas past gone insane and taken to self-mutilation as a pass time between spreading ill omens about ones Christmas cheer.
It was on this line of thought that Devyn found him with her inquiry, one which caught him rather off guard.

“I- n- no- I guess not.” He replied hesitantly, peering back towards his friend with a flushed face, brown hair ruffled to one side giving the boy a scraggly and bedraggled appearance in the dank store light.

“Well…if you are sure.” Devyn said as she took one last look at what she hardly even considered a costume. She would not have even been surprised if there was not actually a price tag on it and that it was just someone’s idea of a practical joke. She honestly didn’t want Andrew to get it but would have gotten it for him if he wanted. Yet, he denied it twice now so Devyn was not going to fight him on it and instead let the matter go. Tossing the costume onto some random rack and would let one of the workers handle putting it back in its proper place.

That was there job after all and she figured in a way at least she was helping them out by hanging it up instead of dropping it on the floor. She resumed following after Andrew, just looking at a few costumes here and there that went from looking really sexy to scary. The sexy costumes were mainly distracting her due to thoughts of seeing certain people wearing them. While the scary ones just looked cool. She slightly wanted to pick something else not doctor related but she already had the costume and she didn’t want to spend more money than necessary.

Moving on, she asked him about if he had kissed a boy or girl because she didn’t know which way Andrew swung. He was still young so it was not as if he had to be set in stone about his sexuality and Devyn had heard people’s sexually still ‘changing’ when they were older. She was using the word changing loosely in her head however. Devyn tilted her head a little at the response. “You guess not? It’s a yes or no question.” Devyn teased a little while she let out a light chuckle. She moved closer to the other boy then, like a wolf closing in on its prey. “Do you want to?” Devyn asked as her voice dropped down to a whisper as that sly smirk spread across her lips.

Devyn approached with an all but predator like glint in her eye, teeth flashing their smile which would have looked just as at home on a wolf as it did on Andrew’s friend now bearing down less than two feet away. She spoke again and he replied truthfully with the smallest shake of his head no, he hadn’t, crimson blush only deepening across the boy’s cheeks, but, none the less, the girl persisted.

“I- er-“ Andrew tried to appear interested in a leering wolf man mask –which he supposed held its own sort of twisted irony-, though in truth, his mind was anywhere but, thoughts danced about the question like a rabbit among a field of traps. “No-“ he finally said, hesitantly “for er- guys, er- girls, I guess yeah- I mean, not that i- er- I mean” he fumbled awkwardly with the words “i- it’s not like I want to d- date someone- or anything, w- well, i- it m- might be nice- not the kissing part- er- even if that would be great too, I- I just meant dating- uhm- if I had t- time for it. Which I don’t! W- With all m- my w- work a- and everything its- just kind- of I mean, not that I am looking to kiss s- someone in the foreseeable future- I mean- I er-…” he gave a long breath before he stopped talking, deciding it to be a lost cause, then turning back to the mask and asking nonchalantly in a blatant attempt to change the subject. “S- So what do you think about this one?” despite his distaste for the molded adornment it was cheep, besides, Andrew felt it was worthwhile just to escape the former conversation.

It was so cute to see Andrew getting redder by the second as Devyn moved closer to him, pressing the question. She didn't really like pushing questions too much but there were just certain topics that she could not help herself with when it came to wanting to know more. Andrew was in that age group when he should have been exploring and trying things out. Even if he was super shy, he should have been at least been thinking about it or trying something. That was what Devyn thought on the matter anyways, she was pretty sure by Andrew's age she already messed around and experimented. Most of which was because of her first girlfriend but Devyn was keeping out of the details.

Andrew's words like usual came out stumbled and incomplete, which meant that Devyn was just going to have to press more for some straight answers. She still didn't understand why he was so shy around her but she was going to pull him out of it. It was taking longer than she expected but she had not given up on making him a little bolder yet. "So you are saying that you know for certain that you are not attracted to male, but you are attracted to females?" Devyn asked, trying to get Andrew to be clear on what he was trying to communicate to her. His stumbling made it difficult so she typically had to guess a lot on things. Devyn just smirked, thinking she got most of what Andrew was saying about the whole dating and kissing someone.

"Soooo, you want to date someone but you don't want to kiss someone? While you also say that you are too busy for a relationship, but is that true?" Devyn asked as she took another step closer towards Andrew. Andrew was still basically avoiding what Devyn was trying to get at, and it just caused her to start thinking all sorts of plans. She could just shove him into some chic in the shop and make them kiss or she could kiss him. The latter would probably be super weird but it would still count that he got kissed by a girl, right? Andrew then changed the subject then, trying to get things back to the costumes. "Well, do you like it?" Devyn asked, going along with the subject change, but for only a moment.
