Did you unplug it and plug it back in?

Today was the most horrible day ever. Lilly could not think of a day that was worse then this. Ok, that was a bit dramatic and over stated but it was still not a very good day for the young ginger girl! She had grabbed her laptop and found a nice quiet seat in the library to do some homework. Low and behold when she turned on her laptop is was a mess of pop ups and warnings and all manner of stuff that she was pretty sure was not supposed to be happening on ones own computer. Sure this might have been the result of her going to one or two less then reputable sites the other night but a girl had needs right? The problem now was she needed her laptop to finish her homework and for the life of her she could not figure out how to fix it and get it in working order again. Now Lilly knew almost nothing about fixing computers and seeing as hers did not work and she currently didn't own a cell phone with any kind of data package she could not look up to see how to fix it.

Lilly let out a helpless whimper of defeat and glances around to see if there was anyone around that could help since this task was well beyond her. Her eye's landed on another girl sitting not to far away who's hands seemed a blur on the keyboard and from what she saw on the screen the girl seemed to know her way around a computer. Hopefully her knowledge included how to fix the current problem on Lilly's poor little laptop. Plus it also gave her an excuse to talk to a pretty girl which was also a nice little bonus. She picked up her laptop and cradled it under her arm as she wandered over, putting on a warm smile as she addressed the other girl. 

"Excuse me. I'm sorry to bug you." she said in a library volume voice. "But, I couldn't help but notice you seem to be quite good with a computer. Mine seems to not be working and I needed it for some homework and was wondering if you would mind helping. I mean, I don't want to jump to conclusions and assume you can fix it, but I would appreciate it and owe you one if you did know anything about fixing them. I'm Lilly by the way!" She added, her smile seeming to reach her two different colored eyes. 

[Lydia Faust]

Lydia grinned as her fingers danced across her keyboard. She was busy in a coding contest with some scrub in a chatroom. It was surprisingly fun and easy. She was winning. Somebody had given them a set of criteria to have done for a webpage, but this person was getting each section done much slower than her, getting mad when she posted them before her and slowing down even more, probably from being mad.

She was vaguely aware of some red blur among the people around her moving closer, but they were currently just background noise, her headphones were sneakily in listening to music.  She heard a muffled noise coming from the other person. 

She pulled her headphones out and peered up at an extremely pretty red headed girl looking down at her, feeling a light blush tint her cheeks. She had pretty mismatched eyes which Lydia had to do her best not to stare at. She hadn't heard what the other girl had said... Awkward.

"Ummm, sorry, what did you say?"

Lilly blinked, tilting her head slightly. She had not noticed the headphones herself and blushed as well before putting the smile back on again. "oh... umm. Sorry, I didn't see ye had headphones in." Her accent was a little more prominent then it was before as it usually got when she was a bit flustered. "I just saw that you seem to know your way around a computer. I myself am kind of helpless at most things involving computers and if your not busy and wouldn't mind helping I was wondering if you could take a look at mine. That is if you aren't busy and such. I don't want to be a bother so if you don't want to it's not a big deal." She realized she was kind of rambling now and she stopping talking for a moment, taking a seat next to the other girl.

By now the snowflakes that seemed to follow her started to lightly fall around her again and the chair she sat on started gathering up frost. "I came here to do some homework and when I turned on my laptop it seemed to be going crazy." she said with a shrug." I honestly don't have a clue on what to do to get it working again and I can't go into town to get it fixed cause of my powers." she said rather helplessly motioning to the snow and frost around her. "Ah, I'm Lilly by the way." she said, the bright smile returning to her. "

The ginger girls hand came up and pushed some hair out of her face as she glanced at Lydia's computer screen curiously. "If you don't mind my asking, what are you doing there? It looks interesting and you seemed really into it, err... before I interrupted you that is, sorry again. I was kind of rude there."

Lydia returned the smile, feeling a little wave of awkward flow through her as the other girl blushed. She had pretty red hair and unusual but pretty eyes. And then she spoke. Dammit, she had a very pretty accent. Ughhhh. Lydia really needed to stop gawking over every pretty girl she met.

She shook her head slowly. "No no, it's alright." She forced a smile through the awkward. She tried to though the awkward a little, although it wasn't hugely successful. Computer problems. Well that was something that Lydia could focus on... That wasn't the other girl's hair... or skin.... or eyes. 

She shook her head quickly and then coughed. "No no, it's alright. Computers are something I can do." Computers were something for her to focus on. Something that she could do without getting distracted, or bored. Or confused. And power problems she could relate to, although the girls own issues seemed much prettier than Lydia's.

"Ummm, coding contest thing. It's silly." She cleared her throat. "Sorry, what are these issues you are having? I'm Lydia by the way." She smiled, looking forward to a computer challenge.

"Lydia? That's a really pretty name." When asked about the issues her laptop were having she grimaced and placed the laptop. "Well." She opened up her laptop and turned it on. When it started up a bunch or random pop ups came up on the screen and most of them, when closed, just came right back up. It was definitely a pretty bad virus she had on her poor little machine. "I am not quite sure how it got to be like this." The tone in her voice though said she may have a pretty good idea as to what happened and she did have a slightly guilty look in her eye's

She turned to look at Lydia. "If you know how to fix it I will owe you big time! I am not sure what I can do to repay you but if you think of anything then I just tell me. I kind of rely on my laptop for homework." Lilly fiddled with the hem of her shirt a little and she shifted in her seat. "Also, if it gets to cold just tell me and I can scoot a little more away, that happens sometimes and I wont take it personally."

Lydia felt a small hint of red touch the edges of her cheeks, as if she had just a little too much of the wrong make up on. Of course it was more a little embarrassment than anything normal. Yup. Anything but normal. Just take the compliment. It's not hard just take it and move on you silly girl.

She blinked at the monitor. "Huh." The other girl was either very very oblivious, or being on sites that she shouldn't for less than noble reasons to get such a high density of such nasty, intrusive viruses. It shouldn't be too hard to clean as she doubted the girl was doing anything complex enough if she didn't know how to clean it to pick up any devious Trojans. 

Lydia giggled lightly as she added other stuff, she was wearing a zip up hoodie already so she should be fine. She pointed to the table. "Set it down there please." She reached into her laptop bag and fiddled around until she pulled out a pair of insulated tight gloves and put them on sighing lightly.

It felt unnatural to use a keyboard with a pair of gloves on, but she didn't know the type of insulation the other girl's case had on it so she didn't want to risk frying something.

Lilly saw the blush and couldn't help but smirk slightly. The blonde girl was rather cute with that blush going and Lilly wondered if she should do any teasing or wait till her laptop was fixed before that. After all, she didn't really know the girl yet and didn't have a feel for her sense of humor. She placed the laptop down where Lydia told her to and couldn't help but wince when she heard the 'huh' taking that as a not so good sign of her laptop was either screwed or she suspected what Lilly did to get it like this. Either would suck but one wouldn't be very embarrassing so she was not sure which one she would prefer.

The ginger girl couldn't help but scooting slightly closer after setting the laptop down to watch how her new companion was going to fix her laptop and she raised a brow at the gloves being put on. That made her wonder what powers the other girl had since she saw that she had not worn gloves when using her own laptop. Still thinking of the blush though she decided to do a bit of light teasing. "Preemptive thank you for helping out, though I still owe you." And with that she quickly leaned in and placed a quick kiss on the other girls cheek. She knew that was not a very safe thing to do to someone when she did not know what the others powers were and she could end up regretting it but she couldn't help it. Lydia was just to cute when she was blushing.

Lydia began examining the extent of the virus infection more thoroughly and made sure that her insulated gloves were on properly before touching the keyboard. She had fried people's computers before, it wasn't something she particularly enjoyed doing and not really something she wanted to do again any time soon. She most certainly was not going to risk it at any rate.

She began to respond to the other girl with a smug look on her face. "Don't worry about it in the slightest, I enjoy doing this. I relish the challe-" She was cut off by a soft feeling on her cheek, she had already been distracted  by the computer and was talking without actually looking, she froze for a moment while her mind clocked over what had just happened to her, the invisible ticking of her brain processing it going away just a little slow.

A moment later her face tightened a little and she turned beet red. Her shoulders hunching in slightly at the unexpected kiss. It took her a few moments to get dragged back into reality. She shook her head rapidly and then blew a stray strand of hair which was in her hair out of her face, only for a small blue thread of electricity to dangle between it and her forehead for a moment. 

She coughed awkwardly. "ummmm... I mean. You're welcome. I mean. Wait, let me see what I can do first. Uh. Yeah." She just started typing. Lydia could just DIE.

Lilly made sure to watch after the kiss to make sure she didn't miss any kind of reaction and she got just what she was hoping for, though a million more times adorable then she could possible imagine. She had a large grin plastered on her face once more and couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "I'm sorry, i'm sorry. I probably shouldn't be giving kisses to people I have just met. I am not that type of girl after all. I'm a proper Irish maiden. But I couldn't help it, your reaction was just so..." she paused for a moment at the electric thread arcing from the piece of hair to the girls forehead. "Well just perfect and adorable. If it was to far I apologize."

She gave the other girl a small apologetic hug and settled back comfortable in her seat next to Lydia. She looked at the computer screen again as and let out a small content sigh. "So I take it your powers have to do with electricity?" she asked, taking a wild guess after the arcing that happened after the kiss. "That's pretty cool. Oh, did you want me to let you concentrate? I can shut up if it helps."

Lydia felt the redness slowly leaving her cheeks, they felt hot. Which was somewhat odd considering she was next to a walking fridge. A pretty hot fridge. But a fridge person non the less. The red headed girl certainly had a playful temperament. She could certainly see that about her.

As the red was leaving her cheeks, the other girl verbally teased her and Lydia felt her cheeks flush again. Ughhhhhhh whyyyyyy.  She smiled awkwardly at the hug. There wasn't really much else she could do. She didn't really feel like complaining about the whole kiss.... It was embarrassing, but the other girl was just so pretty....

She cleared her throat and continued typing, quickly bringing up diagnostic programs on the computer and hitting download on a free anti-virus program she knew was reliable. She nodded to the comment. "Mhmm, no hiding it now I guess. Yeah, I have a nasty electric field around me which does nasty stuff. My laptop has an insulated  case so it's no problem, dunno about yours though, thus the gloves." 

She shook her head and smiled gently. "No it's fine. This is simple compared to what I was doing earlier. Talk away, as long as you aren't teasing me." She gave the other girl a sharp look out of the corner of her eye and then burst into a short giggle. She couldn't hold the serious face long.

Lilly's kept the smile on her face and decided to not tease the poor blonde girl anymore, for now at least. She nodded as Lydia spoke of her powers and decided to use that as a topic change for now. "That sounds interesting. I'm sure mine are rather obvious what with the whole snow and frost thing." She raised a brow at the teasing comment, the giggle signalling free reign for teasing. "In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that I would probably accidentally freeze your tongue off and maybe cause a slight case of hypothermia I would have thanked you more intimately." she said in a in an almost slow and languid tone which was in complete contrast to her eye brows bobbing up and down in a slightly comical manner to mock what some guys thought of as a suggestive motion.

A grin cracked on her face after a few moments and she couldn't help but giggle herself. "Oh man, if I knew this would happen when my computer got something like this I would look at.." she had almost revealed how she had gotten the virus' to her own horror and she stopped mid sentence, her own face turning a deep red this time as she attempted to pretend she didn't say anything. "Err..." was all she could manage to try and change the subject once more which was probably even more incriminating.

Lydia grinned as she typed away rapidly, allowing her fingers to dance across the keyboard as she finished installing the program, clicking with the troublesome track pad, which proved verrrrry difficult to use whilst wearing gloves. Thankfully she was adept enough with hot keys to do almost everything else on the computer via the keyboard.

She nodded at the other girl's comment with a gentle smile, she was busy thinking of the most optimal way to nuke the virus and decided to look into it's point of origin to make sure she was killing them in the right way. "Mhmm, I guessed. It's kinda pretty." she didn't even think about what she had said, and didn't. It came out in a gentle tone and without a hint of awkward because her brain was distracted.

She felt herself freeze up again and glared at the other girl pouting lightly. She was getting mental images. Ughhhh. This girl was still teasing her. Why was she teasing Lydia... She decided to attempt to play along and see if it eased up a little. "Haha... Well you would probably risk getting shocked too...." Nope. That was just awkward.

As the girl spoke about the way she got the virus and cut off Lydia's eyes glued to the screen and she squinted at one of the links. She recognised the HTML and proxy server one of them had come through. She had seen it before on one of the forums she frequented while someone was complaining about add related viruses they got from using a certain site to watch-

"Oh....." She murmured out loud.

This was it, her life was officially over. She would have never thought it possible to die from embarrassment but it was happening this very moment. The reason for her death had popped up on the laptop screen once Lydia had clicked the link. A rather risque site featuring women tying each other up and doing some rather inappropriate acts was now sitting directly in front of them revealing the source of the virus' to Lillys dismay. Her face was now the deepest red you could imagine a face turning without worrying that something was horribly wrong and she went from the rather playful attitude to rather quite.

She opened her mouth to try and say something to explain and just closed it again when nothing came out but a "Uhh..." and she diverted her gaze down to the tabletop where her own hand slay, fiddling with sleeves of her shirt. Finally she managed to mumble. "Oh mo dhia do thoil a mharú dom." mostly to herself before risking a glance over at Lydia, confident she had just destroyed any chance of any sort of friendship or future interactions with the cute girl.

Just to make sure, before she did anything else. Lydia clicked the link. For science. She was immediately thankful that there was nobody would could walk behind her currently and also that the laptop's sound was off. Knowing virus sites there was probably all kinds of bad attention drawing sounds to go with it, including sound to maybe go with the images.....

Lydia's second thought was more along the lines of her brain breaking. Her face yet again, flushed in red. She immediately clicked the close button and killed the link. She waited a few moments before clearing her throat and resuming typing, making sure that she thoroughly eradicated the viruses one by one. 

As she ran scans between them she decided it was just too good a time to get revenge for the teasing. She coughed to get the other girl's attention. "So Lilly.... I do hope earlier with the tongue comment you meant kissing and were not referencing something you saw on these trustable sites." She winked at the Irish girl playfully. 

MWAHAHAHAHA vengance. Vengeance which would probably work better if Lydia was not still visibly embarrassed by the whole ordeal. Vengeance non the less.

Lilly couldn't help but let out a small sigh of relief when the link was killed and she visibly relaxed just slightly. At the sound of the cough though she glanced over at Lydia and at the comment she was rendered speechless which was a feat and had not happened often in Lilly's lifetime. Her face maintained the red tint and she tried to kick her mind into motion to think of a retort for the comment. On the bright side though at least the other girl didn't seem to want her to go away or anything, though she seemed just as embarrassed as Lilly was.

"Are you saying you would object if it was meant in reference to something on that site? Also was that an admission that you would be ok with me kissing you?" she slowly raised her brow. She had found her counter to the girls comment and was rather proud of it as it seemed to be a win win for her no matter what she could think of as a response the girl could have. Though she still readied herself for some kind of clever comeback.
