NAME: Bellerose Leon
NICKNAME: Bella or Rose
AGE: 26
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: French Teacher
FACE CLAIM: Louise Cliffe
POWER:
Animal Morphing (Physical)
Bellerose has the ability to change her appearance by physical shifting to animals. This ability means that with concentrate on the image of an animal in her mind and her body will constrict, skin will contort and painfully she will change from human to animal. When in animal form, she can do the same picturing her human form and return back to as she was. The power appears simple and rather straight forward but there are limitations of her abilities as well as some serious side affects to it as well.
She has over a short period of time managed to be able to at times cause the ears of a feline to pop up during her human form when she is very excited and playful. She also may produce a tail and begin purring.
Limitations
- Bella is limited to only felines as her shift.
- She can only shift to felines she has touched first physically, because she basically replicating there appearance.
- Her eyes also remain there ice blue color. Granted, the surface still reflects that of the beast but it doesn't change colors accordingly.
- All the felines she turns into had this habit of always coming out in the color of black. She isn't able to replicate there original colors. For example, she can not appear as a traditional orange tiger. Her fur comes across in blacks and dark grays.
- The longer she is in her animal form, the harder it is to return to her human form. Slowly, her animal instincts start trying to take over completely making it harder to remember she is human and not beast. Bella will begin to find it harder to return to human after approximately 2 days as a animal.
- Bella can not shift to any male beast form. She retains her female sex as human and beast.
Side-Effects
- Hours after returning to human form, she is emotionally unstable. Her animal form is very thick in her natural instinct and she remains a bit primal until she can regain herself.
- Shifting is very painful, and even though she has done this many times before, it was still just as painful as the first time.
- She also runs into the problem, that shifting ruins whatever clothing she is wearing at the time. So she needs to strip if she wants to save her clothing.
- When in her human form, she can become very emotional and instead of conducting herself properly she may let her eyes slip into a feline appearance and her more animal instincts may surface and take over depending on the emotion.
- She has heavy fatigue after shifting back to human, and depending how long she was in animal form, she is subject to passing out due to the physical and emotional strain it has on her.
- She gets extreme headaches sometimes on and off again and they tend to just ruin her completely.
APPEARANCE SECTION: Bella is very beautiful with her natural straight black hair which she keeps long now that she is older. She has stunning eyes which appear to be a ice blue, almost white at times depending on the way the sun hits them. She is tall, standing at around 5'6 inches compared to her mother whom was only 5'4 inches. She has a very slender body, but she is properly curved where she needs to be. She is what some would call properly proportion without even realizing it herself. Her skin is naturally lightly tanned and she doesn't have any scar's or blemishes on her.
She doesn't have any tattoo's and she also doesn't have anything beyond the traditional piercings of her ear. She seems well balanced structually, but Bella has a habit of tripping a lot on her feet. She is not very elegant on her feet and if she manages to be its by miracle or its due to the fact she is heavily distracted, that she isn't trying to jinx herself and talk herself out of falling, just to fall anyway.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Bellerose enjoys dressing very lady like. Though she has nothing dressing in jeans and a t-shirt when the mood has settled into her and she is feeling rather lazy and relaxed you will often see her more then anything in a dress or a skirt. Unlike when she was a kid, she likes her appearance, she likes the idea of being a woman and she has no fear or embarrassment about flaunting her curves. She likes designer labels and colors which make her eyes stand out and her curves eye popping.
Granted, she likes labels but she isn't foolish about it. She doesn't wear clothing that is uncomfortable or hard to move in. She wears clothing that though they compliment her appearance but she can move freely in.
She has an extensive shoe collection, she loves shoes and just the thought of going shoe shopping will bring her right up and out of any dark cloud she had buried herself in. She always wears a locket. The locket hangs on a silver chain and is oval in shape. The locket itself is made of white gold with intricate swirls and floral carvings on the surface that pop out from yellow gold. When opened, inside you will see a picture of her and her twin brother from when they were still in there just 9 years old. She never leaves home without it.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Bella has an exotic look to her thanks to her jet black hair and her vivid ice blue colored eyes. It’s actually a feature which has helped her get far in her work. She had gone from being shaped like a flat board and holds a voluptuous figure which she doesn’t even notice herself. She tends to forget she isn’t shaped like a boy anymore, but she is now a woman. It usually causes misunderstandings and strange situations that she gets herself into. She is a very compassionate person when you know her. She is open, loving and very protective of those she cares about. Though, Bella comes off as naive and she isn’t exactly street smart she is very book smart. Having spent a lot of time reading she is well educated in the arts and fashion and maybe she isn’t as high end as her mother, she has her own level of knowledge which surpasses most but not all. Bela keeps a strong face of happiness on at all times even if that isn’t how she feels. She just does it to hide herself, not wanting anyone to know her own inner darkness and keeps herself always in the appearance of a sweet tooth loving bubble of life and joy.
Though the world is in odds with the idea of mutants she is very open minded and lacks judgement on the matter. She see's everyone as equals.
One wouldn’t expect her to have such obvious weaknesses, but Bella holds many insecurities and self judges a lot. Bella feels lost. Often not knowing where she is coming and where she is going. She is often timid unless in front of the camera or crowd. When working, she seems to open up more and show herself more. Yet, Bella is a very shy person and easily embarrassed because she still lacks self confidence in herself. She is in the field of being beautiful and staying that way but she hasn’t yet reflected as seeing herself as someone attractive or acceptable. Inside all those layers of laughs and smiles she is very sad and disconnected. She has been suffering from separation anxiety since she first left Paris for England and with four years built up she doesn’t know what to do with it anymore. She loves her father, and would do anything for him but she still feels as if he doesn’t love her. She is very uncertain over everything she does, and wither she is doing it right or wrong.
She loved Daniel, he was her big brother by just minutes he was also her twin and her other half. With the sudden loss of him in her life she has never felt whole, she feels incomplete and like half of her is completely gone. Even now, though she doesn't feel as if her father loves her she tries and spends time with him to see if that small bit that created Daniel would connect with her.
Bella loves the snow. Winter is her favorite time of the year and she loves to be outside when it snows. She is amazed by the calm and serenity she gets from just standing there watching as the world is covered in pure white. It’s like the world stops just for it to happen. She loves music. She finds music to be a wonderful outlet and escape from the world around her. She often looks for songs that associate best with how her mood is and what she is doing at the moment. Freedom, she loves the feeling of being able to do what she wants and when she wants. The feeling that she isn’t chained down. She loves her work, Bella loves to teach and smile for the camera. She enjoys forgetting all the bad and just being a bright bubble of sunshine.
Bella doesn’t like the sense of being trapped. She hates not feeling as if she can spread her wings and be free. The idea of being cornered or bound somewhere terrifies her more than anything. It had always been a fear from her since a child, she was always holed up in the house and never got to go out and play. She, was trapped. Bella doesn’t like extreme heat. Those sunny dog days of summer are not her friend. Much as she loves swimming, she hates the temperature if she can’t cool down. It makes her feel distant and disconnected as she tries to find a way to cool down. She often can be temperamental over it.
She isn’t much of a morning person, and having to be up at sunrise in order to work means that on her free days, you will be lucky to see her before noon even out of bed. She loves to be in the warmth of her bed and surrounded by the positive memories she collected during her time over sea’s in her room. She loves color, she loves all kinds of colors from the dark shades to the obnoxious bright pastels. She loves the brightness of colors and the life it gives to everything. If she had to be in a place of no color, she would feel down and disappointed. She hate's bullies and people who seem to have the complex.
EXTRA QUIRK: Candy apples is her greatest weakness. She eats them so often she actually has a strong smell of it around her. She loves taking pictures on her free time and being in front of the camera as well. She embarrasses easily about flirting.
FATHER: Augustus Daniel Leon
MOTHER: Natasha Rose Leon
SIBLINGS: Daniel Leon (Deceased)
PET: None
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None
WORTHY MENTIONS: She had a best friend in the UK named Evite and she calls her often for comfort and advise since she is new in the US.
CHILDHOOD: Bellerose, more known as Bella, was born in Paris, France with her twin brother Daniel. Her parents Augustus and Natasha were actually very loving parents and where very caring and warm when it came to the home life. Natasha had not been able to have more children after the twin's were born, so they had been very sheltering of there children as they grew. With Augustus owning a big business and being well off financially there was no worries.
Needless to say, her father was not your typical man. He was important, and as such, important people have enemies no matter what country you live in, and what part of the world you were from. With the fear of attacks of retaliations for choices made within his seat of power, they had decided to home school the twins in order to shield them from harm. At first, it was fine, but slowly they began to notice that by home schooling them they were becoming very dependent on just one another for social interaction. When it came to playing with other children that would visit or they would visit in the park, the twins did not engage out to them.
Fearing for the worst, they had decided to enroll the twins in a after school program. Deciding that perhaps if they were separated, forced to meet other children there own age they would reach out to them better, but the problem with this came to light that now they were out in the open. They were exposed further to the public and they were made easier targets.
It was a nice sunny day, when they were preparing to cross the street towards the park. Daniel was on a local soccer team. He had enjoyed sports a great deal and seemed to find himself an opening. Bella was having a bit of a harder time, engaged in a art class. She couldn't focus and Bella had been staring out the window to watch as her brother and his team were heading across the street to the park. As they were cross she watched in horror as a black van pulled up, and snatched Daniel right before her eyes and drove away.
Bella never heard or seen him ever again.
She filled with an emptiness and bitterness. Her parents had never gotten a ransom demand for Daniel and the police pretty much advised them that her twin brother was a loss cause.
She was nearing her 7th term of school and still in a emotional shut in, she was filled with turmoil, and sadness that unlocked a power inside of her, a mutation as society has labeled it. Bella had found herself escaping the world she lived in by transforming into various felines she has touched before.
The discovery of this ability came as a shock at first. She was lounged in her room, staring off into space and just day dreaming. She had just came home after playing with the neighbor's and in her thoughts she had wondered, what would it be like to be a cat? The shift, was painful. She hadn't expected it and for a moment she had thought she was dying or someone had cursed her but, as she pawed around the room she came to realize what had happened. Returning to human was all that much painful but satisfying because now, she had something to do.
She practiced her shifting.
Granted, there was limitations to this, but none the less she wasn't normal. It was shortly after that the recruiters came knocking on her parents door and took her away from them. Pulling her into the private school for mutants.
ADOLESCENCE: Home schooled her entire life until this point she was standing, surrounded by other children and she was lost. Bella had never gone to a public school before and she still felt half, lost. She felt half empty and even more so since this school was for students who were not, human.
Bella at first had gone through her 7th and 10th grade rather unnoticed by people. It wasn't that they where being mean or being cruel. She just didn't stand out. Bella had made a purpose to not stick out at all. She had dressed a lot like a boy actually, keeping her hair short for as long as she could until she was forced to let it grow out. She would often tie it back and tuck it into a bun and wear baseball caps. She tried very hide to keep herself looking more and more like a boy, like her brother. It felt to her, that it was her connection to the loss of her better half.
It was a complicated thing to deal with, the school had tried hard to get her to open up, to get her to remove herself from the little bubble she had put herself in. She wasn't a happy child like she had been before the accident. In the end there attempts had been to place her in various other clubs, putting her in social events that would get her around people more. Slowly, this actually began to work. Bella began slowly, it wasn't an over night process for her, but as people began to engage her more, talking to her and taking notice of her, Bella began to open up more.
Slowly, as time came she had met various people she began to feel as if that smaller piece of her that had once been missing from the loss of her brother, was filling slowly. Though, Bella never felt it fill completely the ability to meet people, make friends began a slow needed healing process for her. She began to reach out of her shell and coming to realize more that she wasn't a half a person, but her own person and when she graduated, moving forward to college, Bella was no longer that tomboy, but she was now Bellerose.
ADULTHOOD: One she was out of high school, things had changed a lot for Bella. Clearly, she didn't want to repeat herself in her this new academic venture of her own. Bella was determined to turn her life around. How exactly she wasn't so sure. It had first started with studying in Fashion and minoring in Photography and though she did get a lot of pointers about herself, about how to improve herself in a more refined and proper manner. She learned the better ways of dressing like a lady professionally when she needed it, but it didn't seem to stick to well as a passion for her. It was rather disappointing for her, though she was enjoying photography she had concluded that as a career she wasn't interested in it. She had enjoyed it more as a hobby then anything else.
She was already a year into her studies when she came across Teaching. The idea at first was a bit nerving, the thought that she would be in front of people, telling them how to learn something and then holding there futures in her hand as a pass or fail. Oddly, that was terrifying but then the feeling that she would be able to help someone. She would be given a chance to mold someone's future, to teach a subject she would like and that someone else would like. That appealed to Bella a lot more then fashion had.
She quickly had changed her concentration to Education and was soon moving through, graduation shortly with the intent of becoming a teacher, but not just any teacher. She wanted to teach people her native language. As soon as she completed and was given her diploma it wasn't to long while she was hunting through the job ads that Bellefonte Academy had reached out to her. There was many educational staff positions open in the United States and one of them happened to be for a French Teacher.
Excitement, she had found something. Not only would she be finally fueling her new passion but she could do it in another country surrounded by new faces! Bella quickly accepted the job and packed up! She was off to the States!
