Had the circumstances been different, Faye would be drunk right now, very drunk. She hadn't felt like her world was so shattered before since her initial realization that she needed a divorce. This entire feeling was particularly peculiar considering, seemingly, this was something that Faye had wanted for a while now, years. But there was so much fear coursing through her veins, masking the joy she might have felt, had her past been difference.
Faye's knuckles wrapped hurridly against Sei's door, praying that he was home. She didn't know who else to go to, and she felt like an incapable teenager. But she just needed someone and Sei was as close to a best friend as she ever had. That, and he knew about her, he knew about her past and her fears and god she just needed someone right now.

Seiji was in his room, just getting done feeding all of his snakes their various sized heated up rats or mice. Everyone was currently working the dead creatures into their mouths while Seiji was in the common area of his dorm cleaning up. He had moved to the college dorm to feel more among those in school instead of up among the staff. Sure he was staff, but he was a student first and felt like he should live here. It sort of was depressing to be in a room all too yourself at the moment, but he had his snakes so was not all that bothered by it. Plus he spent most of his time in his office, in classes, or out and about then he did in his room. So really the feeling of being lonely did not hit him as often and when he did he just shrugged it off because he was used to it and again he had his snakes.
"Akiko stop playing with your food." Seiji warned his snake from the common area, hearing her thoughts about how she was going to try and chew her food like the humans did. The knock at his door caused his dark eyes to look over to it quickly, figuring that by the rate of which the knocking was being done that it had to be important. "Coming." Seiji said, letting them know that yes he was home. Drying his hands he moved to the door and opened it, blinking in a small amount of confusion and worry when seeing Faye at the door. "Faye, everything okay?" Seiji asked, it clear in his voice that yes he was a little bit worried about her with hos she was knocking at the door. She had to be drunk, excited, or scared. That was his hypothesis on it at the moment.

Faye closed her eyes as she waited for Sei to open the door, slowly inhaling and exhaling. She didn't know why she was so upset. She knew what she'd do, shoudl this ever happen and yet here she was sure that the world was ending. But that was because of last time.
When Sei opened the door Faye let herself in. She wasn't acting lke herself. Not by a long shot but in her bag was still the piece of plastic that changed her fate, once again. She wasn't upset. She was happy. But there were so many factors that played into this moment that she wasn't so happy about. Like Dex for instance. They hadn't been seeing each other that long and this would surely send him in the other direction. And then what? She was alone to deal with her own issues? Seemed fair. Hell, it was what she'd imagined she'd want for herself. But it was funny how sometimes the game plan seemed great until it was put to the test and she wasn't ready.
"Yeah. No." She shook her head. "I don't know." She went deeper into Sei's dorm, finding her way to the couch. "Sei." She looked up at him. She wasn't even sure what she was supposed to say or how she got there. "I..." No. The words. "Sei." She sighed. "can i have some water?"

Seiji moved quick to step out of her way as Faye just went into his room without even waiting to be invited in. Not that he minded at all, since she was his friend and if she wanted in he was not going to keep her out unless being in his room put her in danger or he was not dressed. He could tell that her heart rate was up by how she was breathing, but she seemed to be keeping it under control. At least on a level that she was not outright hyperventilating and looking like she was going to pass out at any second. He had no clue what was going on in her mind or why she was here but he would do what he could for her either way. He did wish that his ability to communicate with snakes worked with humans as well so he could get into someone’s mind but things did not work out like that of course.
So he was just going to have to wait and hope that everything was okay and that she didn't like kill a person. His eyes were already scanning over her and not seeing anything that would be an apparent wound to her body. He blinked as she said yes and no. Then that she didn't know as she moved deeper into the common area of his dorm room and went to his couch. He closed the door and was quick to hurry over to her as she said his name. "Yes? What can I do?" Seiji asked, still very worried, even more so if she didn't know how she was feeling or doing at the moment. She seemed to be working on trying to say something, but he could not just guess with so little to go on. Getting asked for water? Hopefully she did not come all the way for some bottled water from him. "R-right, on it." Seiji said with a small stutter since his mind was still working to figure out what Faye was doing here.
He still moved to the fridge with a purpose, opening it up, and grabbing out a bottle of water. Making his way back over to her and handing it over as he remained standing. Not wanting to sit down in case he needed to go off and do something else. "Hold on guys." Seiji informed all of his snakes since they were all asking what human women Faye was doing here since they could smell her.

Faye closed her eyes drawing breath as she tried to compose herself. While Sei was in the kitchen, she retrieved the plastic stick that held her fate on it. It'd be easier to shoe Sei than to say it, clearly, since her words were jumbling up in her mouth and refusing to come out.
She swallowed hard. "Sei." She said taking the water bottle from him once he returned and taking one long sip, sliding the stick over in his direction praying to God he'd know what it was and she wouldn't have to explain. She felt bad. She felt bad that she was putting this pressure on Sei. That he was the first one she was telling and that even though they were close, he was the closest person to her that he'd know first, before Dex even. But there it was. Sei was her best friend. Sei was her only real friend. And she needed him.

"Hmm?" The sound left his throat as Faye called his name again, just as he was getting back to her and handing over the water. Blinking for a moment when he saw the stick and then it clicked what it was. Naturally Seiji took a step back, his mind running a mile a minute at why she was showing hi such a thing. Did she find out about his whole issue with pee and just bowel movements in general and was not just trying to scare him away? No, Faye would not do that. At least she would not do that when she had barged into his room in a clear amount of panic in a way. No, this had to mean that she wanted him to see it, to look at it, and understand why she was showing him. Did he need to assure her that it was not his? Or the rate of which the device was successful? He actually didn't really know what to say about it as he looked at the object and then to Faye.
He knew about her past trouble with a child so was not going to say congratulations, and knew that she did want a child so he was not going to say get rid of it, but he really did not know what to say. What was he supposed to say, he was not this kind of doctor and he didn’t know what advice he could give his friends. "Uh...um...if you are needing like another set of eyes to confirm what is says it really there or not...it does." Seiji said, as his hand went up into his hair and ruffled it a little bit. His snakes already peeking out of the bed room and being super nosey.

To be honest, Faye wasn't entirely sure what had possessed her feet to carry her to Sei's doorstop. But she need someone and that someone could NOT be the other person who this pee stick belonged to. That was completely out of the question. She'd always envisioned herself being a single mom, if she ever had a child that was. Dean had been a nightmare, he'd lost interest in her the moment she'd become pregnant the first time and urged her to end the pregnancy. She was so afraid of rejection. She was afraid that the moment that she told Dex he'd leave her. Dean had left, and he was married to her, Dex was hardly even her boyfriend. The second problem was she knew where she stood. She knew her history. She'd lost one child and even if it wasn't her mutation that caused it it didn't change the fact that she was more likely to lose this one. So then what? What if Dex then watned it and then she lost it? Then she had to not only deal with her own grief, but his, and then he'd leave her. Yes, she wanted a baby, but not with him. Not now.
"So it is real?" She asked stupidly, looking up at Sei. "Sei... I don't know what to do, or how to feel... I guess I jsut needed someone."S he admitted not really looking for answers. "I need a fucking drink." Not that she could have one, and knew that, but it just was what she'd normalyl say and was a release.

Seiji for sure did not know why Faye had come here to tell him such news. Normally this kind of thing was for a family member or the guy that had been part of this. Seiji was pretty sure that he and Faye had not had drunken sex. The idea of it making him blush and just ruffle his hair a little harder than normal. She clearly just needed someone to tell. Maybe her family was busy or she wanted to tell someone in person. There could have been fear that she did not want to tell whoever the father was about it because she didn't want to get their hopes up and lose the baby. Or maybe it was an accident of some drunken fling. Seiji didn't really know about Faye's sex life, or anyone’s sex life, and he certainly didn't want to know about it. That was just something that would cause him to blush even more and possibly faint.
"Uh...well unless some mutant is using their power to trick out eyes I assume it’s real." Seiji answered back his mind not fully in it and there was no way he was reaching out to touch it to make sure it was real or not. Nope, he was fine just with not being fully sure if that meant he did not have to touch it. He did start to pout a little when she said she didn't know what to do or how to feel. He moved carefully then to sit down next her, reaching out to pull her in for a hug but only once she put down what she was holding. "Uh...well normally the first thing you want to think about is if you want the kid or not. Then uh...if you can take care of it, if you want to tell your family...there is a lot that you could do and as for how you feel uh...again there are a verity of responses that a female can have when she finds out such news." Seiji stammered a little, not really sure if he was supposed to even be answering to what she was saying.
His eyes scanned around his room for a moment when she brought up needing a drink. "I don't uh...know how far along you are, but I've heard that even in the early stages you should not drink, but um sorry. You probably know that already." Seiji stammered, again not really knowing what to say and feeling like maybe just staying silent and just hugging her would be enough.

She shook her head, "No. I want it. I want to keep it, them." She said sure of herself. Faye had lost one child and she'd be damned if she did anything to ruin her chances to have another one. She mourned her daughter every single day, and she knew that this child wouldn't take that away, should she be lucky enough to take them to term and even then she wouldn't believe it until she had it and they were ok and she hadn't managed to somehow kill it.
"I just." She shook her head, "I don't know. I wasn't expecting this right now... or..." She sighed. "I just..' She was so flustered. "I'm sorry." She said sinking further into Sei's arms, thankful for them being there. She needed him. She needed the comfort of someone else holding her while she processed this. "a month..." She said, "About a month in... i was just late and I figured I'd check becuase I"m never late and well. I am." She couldn't even say the word. She was too afraid to in case she jinxed it.
"I know I can't drink... even worse I haven't had coffee since yesterday." She admitted, which could be part of the reasons she was so erratic.

She wanted it. Wanted to keep it. Okay, well then he knew at the very least that she planned on to move ahead with this whole process. He stayed silent, again not knowing what to say and feeling completely out of his element now. He did recall telling her that he would be there to help her with a kid and everything, but they had not even been friends for a year. No, that did not mean he was not planning on helping her, it was more he was not expecting this. Like...she just got done with a divorce; and while they already talked about how her mutation was not the cause of her to lose a child, Seiji figured she would have at least used protection with her interactions with other people. He just looked at her and didn't say anything still as she went on to say that she was not expecting this right now and then an apology.
I can't very well suggest that she gets rid of it and waits to try for a child later when she is actually prepared for it. She just said she wanted to keep it. Even if... Seiji was communicating to his snakes who were just suggesting to get rid of the baby or eat it if she didn't want to have it. Not fully understanding the gravity of the situation and while Seiji got it, he was still...feeling odd about it. "It's okay." Seiji said in a calm and soothing voice as he held her and moved a hand to start stroking her hair, knowing that to be one of the locations that people liked to be touched when they were hurting. he remained silent still as she revealed that she was about a month in, having been late for her cycle and figured she check because she was never late. So it was clear then that she knew for sure she was having unprotected sex so there was no mystery of how she had gotten to this point.
Right, she knew she could not drink. He felt dumb for saying it, but she really was just trying to work all tis out. Never in his life did he have to deal with anything like this since it was not in his field and he never had a friend that got knocked up, as the term went. "Well some studies show that coffee is not good for a baby either, but at least it’s better than alcohol..." Seiji said, trying to make a small joke there or an attempt. Yes, he was thinking that not saying anything might have been in his best interest.

Faye nuzzled into Sei's neck, closing her eyes as he stroked her hair. "I know." She said sadly. "I don't know how i'll manage without coffee...." She was used to having two cups before work and god knew how many during and after. While pregnant she could have one cup, maybe... even then there was all sorts of shit saying when she could have this much and then when she could have that much and rules and things and she thought she could handle it. She really had. But here she was having it in her face and she didn't regret it, but she felt conflicted.
"I'm sorry Sei... I just didn't feel comfortable telling my family and telling well... the father of it..." God she really didn't like saying the word father out loud either. Baby and father felt like bad words just full of possible disappointment. "I mean I'm happy. I am." She was. She should have been on birth control. She should have been more careful with Dex. She should have done a little better. There was no excuse. She'd messed up and while she didn't see it as a mistake she saw it as horrible timing. Her apartment was hardly someplace she could raise a child and her savings had mostly gone to paying off the lawyer. At least she had health insurance. That was probably the only thing she was prepared with.
"Where's ghost?" She asked peaking out from Sei's neck. She wanted to cuddle with the giant snake, feeling like she'd almsot bonded with him last time and she felt him comforting, weirdly.

He shivered a little at the nuzzling into his neck but didn't say anything and just kept stroking her hair. Holding her close and hoping that was enough for her since he didn't want to say anything else that could possibly upset her. He was a guy he used his mind a lot after all and there were just so many things he could say. So many things that she didn't want to hear, probably already knew, and would not make him seem like a very good friend. Even if he really was just doing and saying what he felt was best for his friends. She said she wanted the child and that was what he had to keep in mind and thus why he was keeping his mouth shut on the specifics of the topic if he could help it. He chuckled just a little at her words about how she would survive without coffee. "A caffeine patch, perhaps?" Seiji suggested, knowing there was such a thing as them, but he was still not sure if that would be fully good for a baby.
He didn't really know much about babies other than mutant babies in the sense of the likely hood of a child being a mutant and what not. Other than that, he was pretty much closely on babies themselves. Like how to take care of them he understood but since he never really done it before he could not say without a shadow of a doubt that he fully understood it. He did feel a little confused on why Faye didn't feel comfortable telling her family but sort of understood her not wanting to tell who ever the father was. "It's okay. Sometimes you just need someone to tell these sort of things instead of handling it all on your own." Seiji responded back simply and that was what he was taking it as. He was just a good friend to Faye and she trusted him, that was why she told him. He still didn't know the details and he was not going to ask since it was not his place or business. If she told him that was another story and then it would be okay, but he was trying to not pry.
As if on que, when his name was called Ghost already startled slithering out of Seiji's room. The rest of the snakes going back to their warm tanks to digest their food. Seiji having to help Ghost out a little bit with getting onto the couch since he insisted on wagging the tip of his tail and being lazy after eaten. "Careful, he just ate." Seiji gave a small warning, not wanting Faye to snuggle Ghost to hard and the snake losing its rat on her. He already gave Ghost a look, warning the snake to not get too excited as he made his way over and onto Faye. Nuzzling his head into her body a little and flicking his tongue, letting Seiji know that she smelled different. That is because of the baby, remember? Seiji reminded his snake who just rolled over to get some loving from Faye.

Faye's family was complicated. Her father had left when she was young for another woman, and other children, and another family, leaving her mother and sister in San Diego. Sure, he'd made sure they were financially stable, but that didn't fix what'd he'd left for her mother to fill. Shortly after that, Faye created her first snow storm and froze her first cat, Luna, stiff. It wasn't long after that that she was whisked away up to Montana. Her mother and sister moved on with their lives, Faye was gone and whlie they still loved her and welcomed her home with open arms she felt like a stranger in the southern California town. Telling them would be scary. The first time she was pregnant they were over the moon, it'd brought them closer again only for her to lose it. They didn't know how to deal with it so they went back to the other side of the country. She didn't want to do that again. She didn't want to tell a soul until she knew that it'd survive.
"Do you think I'm doing the right thing?" She asked Sei as she carefully pet Ghost, avoiding the swollen part of him where a rat was most likely sitting. She'd grown fond of Ghost. He was always excited to see her and it was nice. She'd take him home if she could.

Seiji didn't know her family situation, but if he did he would try to comfort her like he pretty much did for everything. Wanting the people he cared about to smile and to be able to help them an anyways he could. He was very self-sacrificing, but had good reason for it all he figured. He personally had an up and down life but didn't let it get to him since he was sitting in a pretty good life. Sure he had been given up from his birth parents back in Japan; still having never met them, and then to be abandoned by his adoptive family when he came into his mutation. Life had been hard for the snake boy who only ever had snakes for friend for pretty much since he came into his mutation and the last year at Bellefonte. He could relate not really feeling like having a family to tell anything, but that was pretty much it. Not that he would just tell anyone about his own past unless he was asked. Typically just saying he was adopted and leaving it at that.
His mouth fell open at her question, but no words did not come out. They could not come out. His dark eyes looked at her beautiful hair as he stroked it a little more before stopping and letting Faye focus on Ghost. Ghost loving all of the attention and was always happy to see Faye. He was pretty much always happy to see someone since he was very much like a friendly dog. He had even gotten a little used to dealing with Faye being cold and just made sure to keep part of his body on Seiji so that way he would not end up getting to cold and still has that warmth that his snake-self loved and needed. "It's not my place to say..." Seiji finally managed to get out as he took a deep breath. He was a guy of science, logic, and while he did have emotions and used them very often...she would not like his response more than likely.
He didn't think she was doing the right thing. Not at the moment anyways. He would have suggested for her to get rid of it and to wait for a better time. When she was fully settled back into her job, her home, and just a life of not being divorced. Stress was not good for the baby after all and he personally did want to do some more tests to see if there was something he could figure as to why she lost her first baby. Women who lost their children tended to be at risk of losing them again and he didn't want her to go through that again. He could not say that...not unless she was sure she wanted to hear what he had to say.

When he didn't say yes she knew the answers. Her crystal eyes looked up from the albino snake to her friend. "I think it is... as my friend." She said. She wouldn't have asked if she didn't value his opinion, especially since he was an expert, had talked to her about her fears regarding this subject before and even done research. He knew more than anyone if she was doing the wrong thing. She just hoped he was talking about not telling Dex yet... Every time she thought about telling her her stomach felt like it was falling. She needed to tell him, eventually. But she didn't know how to tell him that it wasn't his choice and she wasn't so sure she wanted to share in the first place, or become a family or whatever else he could request upon such news. Yes, she might want to become his wife one day... but she was in no way interested in that at the moment.
Fayes hands continued to run over Ghost, spending special attention near his head between his eyes, rubbing it gently. "He's too sweet Sei. I'm taking him with me."
