I Fight For You

There were no classes going on, well the normal classes for like English, Math, History, and what not unless there were those who were in summer school. Devyn was not in summer school, but she had taken some extra classes in health since she did end up getting a B+, she felt like she should at least put forth effort in to get an A. After all she felt like she knew the human body pretty well and figured it did not hurt to do just a few classes on it. All of those said classes were already done and over with and she was just returning the health book she no longer need. "New I could get an A in it." Devyn said to herself as she left the classroom. Saying bye to her teacher without even flirting and planning on heading back to her dorm for a nap. She always liked a good nap after taking a major test and since the teacher graded it right after and told her it was enough to push her high B to a low A, she was ready for a break.

She was reaching into her pocket for her iPod so she could play some music on her walk back when she saw something of a crowd gathering. Likely other students that were doing makeup work, test, or just in summer school. Yet the crowd was the standard for when there was something going on. Something like a fight and Devyn could not help but to move closer to check it out. Figuring it would not be any of her friends in trouble since people should have known better then to mess with her friends. Still it did happen and if that was the case she was going to handle it. For now she was working her way over there, pulling some students back and out of the way so she could see what was going on. Thank god I'm pretty tall for a girl. Devyn thought to herself as the fighting started to come into her view when she moved those taller than her out of the way.

Andrew walked past classroom after classroom, the hallway, as common around summer time, was mostly lifeless and the only sound was that of the distant cafeteria where fifty or so mutants were undoubtedly having lunch, whispering about who was going out with who, debating which teacher gave the most homework and agonizing over the rapidly approaching end of summer. He though simply continued, no real destination in mind, figuring he would just find somewhere quiet to read, maybe the library perhaps?-

Andrew didn’t notice the foot that shot out in front of him until it was too late, sent tumbling, head over heels, his bag ripped from his shoulders and throwing a small cascade of books and wrinkled papers sliding off across the tiled floor. Dazed he could barely lift his head as a mocking voice sneered above him.

“Well, well, look who it is?” Andrew peered up, though his eyes were blurry and could only distinguish the most basic outline of the figure standing overhead, even so, before he had even wiped at his face to clear them he already knew who it was and his heart sank like a stone.

Rell Avery, Andrew imagined him to look something like a crow, a cruel starving ruffled creature that looks at everything alive with a horrible glint in its dark beady eyes, long nose like a beak and dyed black hair a grey plumage which he combed back to give the impression that it was perpetually windblown. Otherwise, he had a deep tan; in fact it was almost unnaturally so, with angular cheekbones that made girls swoon and a build of an Olympic swimmer, not that he needed to use those muscles, they were just for showing off, a display he did quite well, using a sleeveless hoody and athletic shorts that seemed two sizes too big.

Behind him Andrew noticed several other people watching, some with glee, others interest, but it seemed all of them were in his grade, it was amazing how fast word traveled when you’re about to get beat up yet not a single teacher ever catches a piece of it, great. Rell was the worst of them all, and he meant that in a literal sense, the kid didn’t seem to care what he did, if there was a conscience on him it was buried beneath the love to control others, his mutation was rather ironic then when you think about it, in a morbid sort of way.

“L- Look, I j- just want t- to be on my w- way, a- alright?” Andrew stuttered nervously, though he knew it was helpless as soon as the words left his mouth, if anything the boys gaze became even more elated as he grinned down at him where he still lay on the floor having not attempted to get up.

“look the doggy speaks, come on what other tricks can you do?” if his heart fell at first it plummeted now, so this was going to be a long torment, not some short in between class tussle. Amid the light laughter that followed the boys statement Andrew struggled to stand up, not at all surprising that he couldn’t though it still sent his muscles into a panicked frenzy, straining to no avail.

“Sit boy. You know how to sit don’t you?” the student commanded while to Andrew’s frustration and embarrassment, his body obeyed, pulling itself into an uncomfortable and rather dog like pose. More laughter, even Rell allowed himself to crack a smile, strolling over behind Andrew so he could face his growing audience as he patted him lightly on the head like an obedient pet.

 “To bad your puffed up little girlfriend isn’t here now, were you dreaming about her coming onto you? Was that why you looked like you were trying to beat off a dead horse on the cafeteria floor?” he got a large number of guffaws from this and seeing he had won the crowd Rell continued, squeezing this for everything it had. “don’t worry mate, I doubt anyone would blame you, I’m not even sure if she’s a woman, though then again, at least that explains how she can come within twenty yards of you.”

Andrew couldn’t move, though he imagined if he could he would be punching every inch of the boy he could get his hands on. He was used to this, though insulting Devyn had taken things a step to far, even so the anger quickly turned to fear with what Rell said next.

“come on, now who wants to see what our Andrew friend really looks like?” no, he couldn’t, there’s no way, despite his protestations he could still feel a wall rising up in his mind, growing, cracking, threatening to shatter into a million shards… his tormentors teeth flashing white through his open eyes.

Devyn missed pretty much most of the start of the fight, since of course people didn't start to crowd around until things got 'good'. Devyn did always wonder why people would circle around to watch someone else being bullied. She could not even think of wild animals being gathered around to watch a fight. Maybe if it was between the leader of a pack and a challenger, but then people just gave them all their space. You think someone would not want to end up getting themselves hit for being a bystander. Plus all those people gathered around just made it difficult for all of them to get away when everyone had to scatter before the staff showed up. At least this time they would not have to be scattering from the staff and in fact scattering from Devyn. Devyn letting out a warning growl as her green eyes went a little darker. Catching the whole 'puffed up little girlfriend part' and had heard better insults.

Devyn didn't act yet, amused at these kids words about not really being sure if she was female or not. Eh, she had gotten that before and she enjoyed when people were not sure what her gender was. She liked to be more of a mystery and leave people wondering what her gender was. Even if she was a proud female, just a super tomboy was all. Once the boy seemed set on getting Andrew to use his mutation, Devyn stepped in. While she was all for Andrew going all dog, she didn't think that this was a good way to do it. Even if she had been one to use fear to transform him, she did not really intend to hurt the younger boy. "Mmmmm...for Andrew's sake I'm going to give you all to the count of three to get your asses out of here before I get really pissed off." Devyn said with a growl behind her words, the shadows around everyone would start to move and pull towards Devyn a little. She was not going to transform, not yet anyways.

She had to go with a warning at least, even if her beast self was telling them to wipe the floor with everyone around. Even if they had not been the ones picking on Andrew, they were still standing around watching. After she had given them a warning since she dropped Andrew off at his class that day. She was already reaching out for the main offended. Planning on grabbing him by his collar and yanking him back away from Andrew. Planning on taking a protective stance in front of Andrew, in between those who had apparently thought this was a good idea, and her friend. "You know what. I still might beat all of you up even if you leave." Devyn said with a smirk and no she was not kidding. That dark side of her already coming to the surface a little as the shadows started to pull towards her more and try to start crawling up her body.

The sensation disappeared as fast as it had come, one minute Andrew was locked in a battle of wills, a battle he was rapidly losing, the next, nothing. He opened his eyes, blinking and was surprised to realize he suddenly had full use of all his ligaments again, not having to look far for the source of the distraction. Devyn, suddenly Andrew couldn’t move, as if shaken Rell regained his focus, the moment of surprise and perhaps even fear wiped away from his face by a shining smile as though Christmas had come early, reminding the dog shifting student suddenly of the saying: one in the hand, two in the bush.

He wanted to shout, to warn Devyn, something, even if he could move his lips though he doubted she would have listened, a murderous glare in her eyes made her look more wolf than human. A few of the other kids seemed to notice this, taking heed of her words and bolting from the scene as fast as their legs could take them, but the others stayed, either out of interest to see what would happen or a vicious loyalty Andrew had no idea.

The air around Devyn blurred, shadows rippling and twisting through the hall like misty snakes curling against her form, it was a terrifying sight, as though she wore a gown of death though Rell didn’t seem affected, his gaze flicking across her, lingering slightly on the girl’s chest with a smirk before he looked up holding the gaze in his own. Andrew wanted to scream, She reached out taking the tormentor by his collar; he didn’t stop her, still holding the gaze as though vaguely humored by the display, despite Devyn being a good few inches taller than him. 

the boy slumped forward, his muscles all going limp at once, without warning Rell’s presence retreating… he had a new target.

“Do sit down Devyn, welcome to the party”

(OOC note: your choice if you want to be able to resist it, Devyn is older than him and her power could interfere with his or something along those lines, didn't mean to make this seem like I was forcing an action, just a bit of dramatic flare, sorry, hope its alright and I got all three of my threads posted on today, woot!)

Devyn was here to save the day like some super hero out of the comic books, but really she fit the role of a villain much better in her opinion. She didn't go easy on the bad guys and she herself would even break a few rules or two to put someone in her place. So really she was more like a Batman, but with powers that perhaps could make the powerless rich man feel some form of fear if her were real. Not that Devyn really cared all that much of how others took her appearance of stepping in to protect Andrew. He was her friend, part of her 'pack', and there was no way in hell anyone was going to just do as they like with him. Some of the kids were clearly smart, getting out of there before they found themselves at the wrong end of their own shadows.

Devyn was using most of their shadows to pull into her form, tending to use any shadow close to her before she would use her own. It hurt less that way and plus there was something inside her that just felt even more in control when she made someone shadow less so long as they were within a certain distance of her able to pull the shadow from. A few stayed; the dumb one, even if they felt that they could take Devyn they were still dumb. Devyn was no WWF wrestler or anything and even she could be outnumber, but that was what her power was for, to even the odds in a way. Her shadows were already at the read, ready to consume Devyn and turn her into her other form. Devyn was managing to keep them back; it always being a little hard to keep them at bay when all they wanted to do was become one with her when she pulled them to her. She didn't know the guys power, but clearly he thought he was 'the bomb' and was not even worried about Devyn's grabbing him.

Now Devyn was older, more practice with her mutation more than likely, but she was not fully immune to powers the controlled over her mind. While she obeyed commands given to her by those who were strong enough to control her mind, she would still growl. The simple fact being that you could never fully tame a beast. Even know as her green eyes grew darker she let out a low growl, slowly; and clearly fighting it, but still moved to sit down on the ground. Her shadows still keeping at bay by the other part of her that was not being told what to do. It would only be a matter of time at this rate. Either Andrew was going to have to break this boy's hold on Devyn so she could get to work right away or just wait until the shadows would no longer hold back and consumes her.

Andrew hit the floor with a not un-doglike yelp, unable to raise his hands quick enough to stop the collision as he bit down hard a small spurt of blood pooling inside his mouth. Rough hands grabbed him by the shoulders, hauling him to his feat just in time to watch Devyn’s knees buckle compliantly, a low growl escaping her lips set in a determined sneer. If Rell was troubled by this he didn’t show it, glancing to where his cronies held Andrew, mildly stunned, then back at Devyn with an amused expression that reminded the boy of when ghost the boa had tried to smile, only this time, it was a lot less friendly.

“Good that’s better, now everyone is much more comfortable.” The student said, shooting one more look at him, a slow trickle of blood ebbing out his mouth and he could feel a bruise swelling up on his left cheekbone, unable to do anything about either of these with both his hands held quite securely on each side. Andrew tried to wrestle away none the less, though seeing as how he was a head shorter and about a hundred pounds lighter then both of his captors it didn’t do much. For a second he contemplated attempting a transformation, but what would that do? Even if he could, it wasn’t like the first time, he didn’t have the element of surprise, they would just wait until he was done then grab him again, wasting precious minutes and it would gain him absolutely nothing.

“c- come on Rell, j- just l- let us g- go, I- I w- won’t tell a- anyone” Andrew said, not surprised to see, the grin on his tormentors face widen even further, well, it was worth a shot. Rell turned from Devyn who he had been staring openly at in silence for the past several seconds, as if trying to decide what would be the most embarrassing thing he could possibly have her do and walked, ever so thoughtfully, back to where Andrew was standing, the grip on his arms tightening to a painful extent.

“W- What was that Andrew?” Rell asked with a mocking tone as he mimicked Andrew’s stutter “I- I just couldn’t hear you right, I could have sworn you were asking for me to let you go, though you know, even you can’t be that much of an idiot.” Andrew’s face went red, a small murmur of laughter coming from the onlookers, anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. Rell didn’t disappoint, pulling up a pondering appearance he stroked his chin dramatically before settling back with a bemused twinkle in those dark eyes. “You know what, how about you beg, beg and I might let you go scot free this time. Like a dog, it shouldn’t be too hard for you.” Another row of guffaws, the blush deepening on his face, and the two let him go, gee, how nice of them. Andrew began to bend down then swung out a leg in an upward ark, he was not very strong and he missed his target by a few inches, hitting the side of the tormentor’s leg instead of his groin, though it achieved the same result.

“Gah!” Rell doubled back his once peaceful face now twisted with seething rage as the two grabbed him once more, one of their grips icy and made a shiver run down Andrew’s form. He couldn’t move, couldn’t flinch as the fist slammed into his face and a spurt of blood streamed from his nose, though thankfully not breaking it. Andrew could hardly breathe, though he stared back at Rell in victory, now who’s the idiot, Devyn was free.

Devyn's growl became louder when she heard the yelp from Andrew, it just fueling her anger with them hurting her friend. Not only was she pissed that she was now sort of under control over this two bit bully, but with them still being rough with Andrew was really just adding to their bad luck that would soon be coming for them. There was a school rule that you were not supposed to use your powers on another student unless for training purposes and in certain locations where there tended to be a staff to keep things in check. This Rell kid was breaking the rules so Devyn felt less bad for when she would break them along with his face. Just don't kill the guy. don't want to get in that much trouble. Devyn told herself, but she knew that this Rell guy was at least going to get something broken or cut and have to end up in the infirmary by the time she was done with him.

"I think I would be much more comfortable if I was standing on your face." Devyn responded back with words that were full of attitude and just wanting to pound the guys face in. Rell was still keeping a good amount of focus on her however, so even as she tried to rise to her feet she still remained on the ground, the shadows still making their way up her body, but slowly. Devyn's green eyes looked over to Andrew as he spoke up about not going to tell anyone about any of this. Devyn snarled at the younger boy and glared at him. "Don't submit to him Andrew. Plus no one is going to say anything anyways since all of them will be in the infirmary soon." Devyn warned and she was just waiting for a break in Rell's concentration. All she needed was a split second of it and then she could use her power and take care of these guys.

She was still taking a deep breath to keep herself still mostly calm and reminding herself to not kill. She had to do and say all of this to herself in order for her to not lose control when she would use her power.

Devyn got that chance to use her power then as Rell and his little group of people started to focus on Andrew. She still waited for a moment, wanting to do things at the right moment. Plus she was interested in seeing what Andrew was going to say, since at least he had spoken up. Sure it had been him sort of giving in, but at least he spoke up instead of not saying anything at all. Devyn would at least give him credit at that. She kept growling as Rell spoke to Andrew about begging like a dog and what not, planning on really making this boy just pee himself. Devyn would end up outright proud of Andrew for at least attempting to kick Rell in the groin. He had missed, but still hit the other boy and it had been enough that Devyn felt like that was the perfect time to get into action. The shadows quickly covering her entire body as the shadow smoke appeared and started to close in around her before spreading out, Devyn now in her shadow beast form at its full dire wolf size.

While, pupils eyes looking from Andrew and then to the ones that were the reason why she was here in the first place. She let out a growl that sounded like it had almost been whispered. She was just daring them to run so she had more of a reason to attack them. At the moment her form was more so going for its biggest ability and that was its scare factor. The shadow smoke moved then, forming out the desired letters to also add to the fear factor of her ability and to get a message across.

Onlookers scattered in every direction just so long as it wasn’t towards the giant creature now pawing the hall floor like an angry bull staring at Rell who had only just seemed to have realized his mistake. Andrew could see the thoughts firing through the tormentors head as he slowly turned putting him face to muzzle with what could only be described as a hound from hell. Devyn had gone full out, shadows swirled about the hall like wraiths draining into the black creature, its hide so devoid of light that it didn’t seem to have any form at all, that is until it opened its eyes, those heartless opal eyes like twin moons that were plucked from the sky to seek vengeance on their accuser, with a hate and furry so deep he was surprised they belonged to a human being.

The appearance of the slanted words was the final straw, only the most devoted of Rell’s acolytes staying to support their master, two of which still held Andrew, a painful frost burn working down one arm and two others behind Devyn circling nervously like wary hunters cornering an angry bear. The tormentor stared at Devyn for a moment at a loss for words, he seemed to attempt to wrestle control of her again then a look of dismay and terror flashed across his face as the effort proved pointless. Rell backed away, eyes wide and for the briefest of moments Andrew could see what he had been without his power, relying on the strength of others to fight his battles.

“w- well what are you waiting for!” he shouted the tremble in his voice no longer fake “get her!” three boys instantly dived towards Devyn, the last one still holding Andrew as though numb before he also sprinted into the fray. One hissed, displaying razor sharp claws like a cat, another’s hands turned a feint bluish color, frost burning in the air around them, as for the others they didn’t seem to display any powers, one reasoning was that they were simply non-combat related, or maybe they were just not being utilized. None the less, Andrew didn’t have long to watch the scene before Rell was at him again, grabbing this throat with knotted hands he hauled the boy against the wall, arms ignoring his feeble attempts to free himself as a hateful glint entered his new captors glare. It was getting hard to breath, blood trickled into his mouth though his couldn’t choke, thumbs restricting his air, he coughed, spots started to dance around the edges of his vision, his struggles were getting weaker and weaker, maybe if he just got some sleep…

Rell had made a huge mistake, a dire wolf sized mistake that he was going to pay for as well as anyone else that was stupid enough to stick around. The shadow smirked swirled around Devyn and around her in that hall. Coming close and around all of those still sticking around and starting to make the area feel a little cold. Shadows were the reflection of light, but they were without light. No light meant any warmth, so just the cold could be felt as if someone had kicked on the AC. Surely sending up tingles up people’s spines as if a ghost had entered a room. A few ran off but still some remained as if they really thought they could go up against this. Oh, she sure for was planning on making someone pee themselves. Her jaws already started to open, going unnaturally wide for a moment and showing the all very sharp black teeth. Even the inside of her mouth, and tongue were all black. It would be like just looking into pure darkness, like a black hole where no light could escape.

She showed her words, and with that she had given them plenty of warning now so she did not feel the need to hold back anymore. Showing her power was warning number one, and showing the words was warning number two, and Devyn didn't really give a third warning in this form. Plus she had growled earlier before she used her power so in a way she had already given three warnings. Devyn's two tails stood up her and her black fur bristled as she let out a contact growl that still sounded like it was being whispered. His power would not work on Devyn now since he was not looking at her real eyes, these were her beast eyes and now that she was like this, there was only the smallest of chances he could even grab a hold of her mind to control her. Rell and his little gang were screwed and they were going to learn that soon enough. Devyn would have chuckled if she could at hearing Rell command his little followers to do his dirty work.

Devyn decided to go for the ones showing off their powers, already knowing she could deal with them without much trouble. Just lunging forward for the one with the cat claws to shove him to the ground, not even worried about claws going into her since while she would feel pain, it was not actually hurting her. The claws were not long enough. As for the one who could control ice, Devyn was used to the cold in this form so had no problems dealing with him either. She still had to remind herself she could not hurt them, and instead went to trap them beneath her front paws before she would move pick up Rell by his shirt in her jaws. If she could speak she demands for him to let Andrew go. If he didn't well he was going to have to deal with being bitten or possibly 'eaten' by Devyn. That would be a scare of his life for sure if he didn't stop what he was doing.

Devyn just knew she did not want to drag this out, doing so could end up getting someone hurt really badly and that someone could even be Andrew.

Devyn launched herself at her aggressors, target giving a feline yowl before the distinctive pop of a shoulder dislocating broke in its wake, more screaming, but not just in fear; someone slammed into the lockers with a deafening crash knocked back by both tails. Andrew could hear the crackling of frost, then retreating steps, one of them had turned tail and run, as for the other, he wasn’t sure, why he did he care so much? Everything hurt, he couldn’t move, couldn’t draw breath, though those things didn’t matter, no, he was much more content just to fall into the approaching darkness awaiting him with open arms.

“gahg!” the pressure relaxed without warning, leaving the boy to sink to his knees gasping and sputtering for air, as his mind suddenly remembered that it was rather important. Andrew was curled on the floor panting, only able to half perceive the scene unfolding before him. “aghhh!” Rell gave another agonized cry, his hands attempting to beat off Devyn’s jaws that were now firmly latched around his shoulder; blood staining her midnight black maw a merciless crimson, reflecting off the hallway lights to make it seem as if her mouth burned liquid flame, though it was altogether possible he was still just delirious.

“halp!” the tormentor yelled, eyes shining with tears and open fear as he struggled to free himself from the girl’s rage, sounds of heavy feet registering distantly in the back of the boy’s mind. Andrew blinked; Rell had managed to grab one of his books off the floor and was now attempting to whack Devyn over the snout with it, the foot falls were getting louder and louder. He stared, blood trickling from his nostrils, bruises lining his throat and swelling up across his face, even so he managed to speak, barely over a whisper as if muttering to himself.

“D- Devyn, d- don’t”

Devyn didn't even care that she was causing them pain, they had caused Andrew pain and as far as she was concerned it was an 'eye for an eye' or well in this case a 'hurt Andrew and you were going to get something broke or bitten into'. Her ears twitched at the sound of the shoulder popping and then flicked again at the hearing the screams. She still didn't really show any signs of being effect by any of it, losing herself a little now that she was in this form and actually hurting people. Her tails swung and made contact with one of those that were behind her, knocking them into the locker without her even bothering to look back at them. She did look off and watch the person who went off running. The urge to chase them down and shove them to the ground was strong, but she had someone more important on her list.

Rell, the guy who was the leaders of all this, the one who hurt Andrew, got her to sit, and who after this was not going to have any way of conveninging people to mess with Andrew again unless they really were just stupid. Devyn's mind even checked out a moment on the whole making sure Andrew was okay, telling herself he was a big boy and he could get away by himself. She figured he run, that he run and let her take care of this. She didn't want him to end up getting in trouble for this after all, she was the one really hurting others but they started it. She had a hold of Rell in her jaws, and at that moment, that was all that mattered to her. Making him pay for hurting her Andrew Pup. Her bite at first was light, just breaking the skin a little bit with her sharp teeth, but each time she felt the blow to her muzzles her grip started to close tighter. She could smell the blood, even taste it, feeling its warmth just a little bit against her cold muzzle.

There was not that much blood, but enough that Rell's shirt would start to change color and possibly a few drops would start to drip to the floor. Devyn could more so feel Rell's fear, it was wonderful to put that fear into someone after they were the kind to try and cause fear in others. The book was grabbed then, hitting Devyn's muzzle and causing her to let out that deep dark whispered growl. Planning on ripping the boys’ arm off from the shoulder now as she started to bite down more. Her years twitching however at the whimper she heard from Andrew. Right, Andrew. The boy she was here to protect, to make them pay...but she could not kill them. Andrew clearly didn't want that. He was saying don't. Devyn growled at Andrew for a moment, her pupil’s eyes looking at the boy for a moment before she let go of Rell. Moving over toward Andrew and nuzzling against him careful.

Guy hated moments like this. They did seem to happen more and more often as they drew closer to the school year. He couldn't even be certain what was going on. He simply got the call: a group of students had started attacking one another near one of the classrooms. Guy had been about to suggest that security simply swing by there and handle things, when they'd added that it appeared that some kind of "shadow wolf" was involved.

That left Guy little choice.

The head trainer found himself coming upon a scene of carnage, though he couldn't say for certain whether more was about to break out or he'd come at the final act. Solway appeared to be near another student to some degree, and it looked like... "Wylen?" said Guy, blinking. Two of his students here? Though Wylen didn't appear to be using his power, unlike... "Solway, I suggest that you revert," said Guy, looking at her then at the other students around, most of which looked more or less terrified. Wylen looked pretty put out too...

"And someone had better start explaining. Now."

Devyn’s ears twitched, eyes seeming to now pear towards the boy, their brilliant blizzard white, as cruel as the winter frost and as cold as the arctic tundra. Had he been in any position to do so he felt he would have shot away at a run right then, like a rabbit caught in the eyes of a glowering predator ready to eat him in a single gulp; there was no reasoning with it, no pity, just cruel judgment and the hope for a swift death beneath those clenching jaws. Then, suddenly, like a cloud had passed overhead, her pupils softened, she still looked terrifying and horrible, but now a human presence lingered there replacing the uncontrollable rage with- well, with Devyn.

Rell fell, scampering back, his eyes once filled with a malicious mirth were now wet, tears streaming down each cheek and mouth still spouting out bloody murder though clearly trying to make as much space between him and the giant man eating creature as he possibly could. The tormentor didn’t stop his frantic retreat until his back, quite literally, hit the wall and even then it seemed he was attempting to make himself as flat as possible, without letting go of the wound, now dripping blood onto the floor between his crimson fingers. Devyn, ignoring Rell like a discarded chew toy, now approached the boy with an unnatural grace for something so large. Face ending an inch from Andrew’s own, he squinted, managing to sit up as his legs tensed instinctively beneath him, ready to run, but she didn’t do anything, just stared at him for a second or two then nudged the side of his face; somehow able to not hit any of the bruises that splashed across the surface like some kind of abstract art.

Andrew had just opened his mouth, not at all sure what to say, when the sentence was cut through like a rapier by another’s words. Just then, he remembered the footsteps, he remembered the voice as well, Guy Legrange, his trainer. The two had only really had one training session as the summer had come around before another could be scheduled though as much as Andrew was looking forward… well, not really looking forward to, but at least he had been encouraged by his success at managing to transform, more or less, at will, none the less, those thoughts now plummeted with his stomach as the stout man came into view.

Rell didn’t miss a beat, taking advantage of Andrew’s speechlessness and Devyn’s current disposition; he began to respond with a quite convincing quiver to his voice, something that probably wasn’t very hard with the shadow creature still only being a few feet away, as well as his shoulder still dripping blood through a clasped hand.

“She- attacked us sir- get me away from her- she’s crazy! Just minding our own business- I swear, then she just right up tried to kill me- my arm burns, I need to get to the nurse sir! And ask Menj he’ll tell you! Get me away from that insane mutt!” not far away the kid who’s shoulder Devyn had dislocated was still mewling on the ground, a second boy lay against the lockers, seeming vaguely dazed, just staring at the other side of the hall, nodding along with Rell’s words though he gave no other indication of being able to hear anyone.

It was a moment before Andrew realized what was happening, stammering out.

“S- Sir t- that’s n- not what happened a- at all!” he nearly shouted, gaze flinging in-between Rell, Devyn and the teacher. He couldn’t be certain though he could have sworn a hint of a smile touched the tormentor’s lips.

Devyn didn't mean Andrew any harm, even if she was pissed off in general because of everything that happened. She hated; loathed, when people hurt those that were important to her and that was what Rell and his little gang did. Devyn could care less about any humiliation or what they did to her, but you did not upset or mess with those that were under her protection. She dealt out her damage and when Andrew had called out to her she was able to calm down enough, not having lost full control. The best within her was powerful and wanted to make sure that those that hurt Andrew would never be able to do it again but Devyn didn't want to be a killer if she could help it and would only kill those that had actually tried to kill her. Or were a real threat, which none of these boys were. A familiar scent hit Devyn's nose long before she saw Guy and she went still.

Aww, crap. Devyn thought to herself as her tails sort of tucked in-between her back legs to show that she did not mean to appear a threat. Guy gave the order and Devyn gave a simple nod as she worked on reverting like she had been told to. It always hurt when she would be forced out of her power by Guy, so she preferred to do it willingly. It took a moment or two for Devyn to pull the shadows off of her and get them to return to being just normal shadows that were casted from the objects that she pulled them from. Unable to defend herself while she reverted back and handle getting rid of the shadow smoke that lingered around a little after she was back to her original form. She just rolled her eyes at Rell's little act, not even going to waste her time explaining what really was going on because she figured Guy would know that she would not just attack people without a real reason...for the most part anyways.

Andrew did seem to start to speak up in their defense but stammered around with his words like he normally did. Why do I seem to be really close with the super shy ones that have a hard time talking? Devyn asked herself as her mind automatically thought about Zoe for a moment before focusing on the task at hand. "The kid bleeding from his arm and his little gang were beating up on Andrew so I stepped in." Devyn simply explained, figuring she did not need to go into full detail considering the scene around them.

Guy continued surveying the scene, wishing that he had a little more objective evidence here to rely on. He didn't immediately recognize the students that had gone after his, which probably wasn't a great thing. It meant he couldn't be as impartial as he should. What he did know was that there was no way that Andrew Wylen would willingly attack someone. Devyn Solway, on the other hand...

Well, it was believable that she would attack someone. But unprovoked? Somehow Guy sincerely doubted that. he looked over at Andrew, who stammered out objections quick enough. Not what happened: well, that was... informative. Guy noticed Devyn shifting back and turned to her, figuring that he should probably let the last person at least say her piece. Beating up... ah, well, now that made decidedly more sense. Andrew did look like one of those that would be an easy target, and Devyn would attack anyone who dared get close to someone she'd claimed.

"You," said Guy, pointing at the bullies, "get to the nurse's office. Tell them that Mr. Legrange sent you and that you're going to need treatment for whatever. They're used to it. Oh, and detentions, for both of you, possibly more, depending on your record," he then looked back at Andrew and Devyn, though he spoke to what he figured was a gathered crowd of other students. Fights always drew people.

"I'd suggest leaving me alone with Miss Solway and Mr. Wylen for the time being, otherwise I'll have to be loose with the detentions," which nearly always worked, even for those that were super curious and just dying to know the end result of a fight.
