NAME: Molly Abigail Hobbs
NICKNAME: Molls
AGE: 17
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Demisexual
POSITION: B.A. Sutdent
FACE CLAIM: Chloe Bennet
POWER: Dragonfly Wings and Hallucinogenic Dust
Dragonfly Wings
Molly's wings work much like a dragonfly's do. She has two pairs, one upper and one lower. They're a shimmery green in color and large and strong enough to allow her to fly. She is quick in the air with both her sets of wings working and can fly for a good amount of time (thirty to forty minutes) before getting too tired. Her top flying speed isn't extremely fast, perhaps about as fast as a human can run, and at these speeds, it only takes her about five minutes to get tired. She has trouble staying still in the air, however, because her wings need to be in constant motion in order to keep her aloft. She also can't fly extremely high without losing stability. Her top height is probably only four meters above the ground. She can't carry much more weight with her in flight than her own body weight; maybe about ten extra pounds.
Really, the only advantage of flying over walking is that it is a little bit quicker. And, obviously, way more fun. However, her wings are not a permanent fixture on her body. When not in use, they appear as tattoos on her back.
Hallucinogenic Dust
When Molly flaps her wings, a dried hallucinogenic substance comes off and is released into the air. She has very little control over where his substance goes and how it can be directed, but with some more practice, she might be able to develop her skill with it and use it to specifically induce a person. Right now, it's sort of like pollen that fills the air. She can't really control where it lands and in what quantity. If its raining or humid or windy outside, obviously this will dampen the travel of the dust reaching a target.
In any case, if the substance makes its way into someone's body -- through the mouth, nose, or eyes, for example -- they will start to experience some hallucinogenic side effects. Depending on the person's tolerance, they might just become a little light-headed and high or being to hallucinate wildly. The length and severity of the effects depends upon how much of the substance is inhaled and the susceptibility of the person. It can range from five minutes to a few hours.
Limitations
. when her wings get wet, it is a lot harder for her to fly as her wings get weighed down by the water; in addition, wind can easily knock her off balance and make flying with any accuracy a huge challenge or almost impossible.
. she cannot fly very high (just four meters), very fast (as fast as a person can run), or for very long (thirty to forty minutes maximum) without becoming exhausted/incapable and incurring worse side effects
. she only has enough strength to support her own body weight in the air, so when more weight is added, it becomes increasingly difficult for her to stay aloft; she can perhaps only carry about ten extra pounds with her
. the hallucinogenic dust cannot be controlled or directed at a target as of yet and its trajectory can be altered by wind or rain
. her dust doesn't effect people who are immune to organic substances like snake venom
Side-Effects
. her back muscles aren't really geared toward flight so flying often makes her neck, upper back, lower back, and shoulders ache, especially after longer/higher/faster flights.
. since her wings form a tattoo on her back, it is very painful to bring them out and put them away; it feels how you might imagine it feels, like little pricks of fiber-y wing are trying to pierce their way through your skin.
. she has mental resistance to hallucinogens; taking drugs won't change her mental state but might still hurt her body if there are other physical side effects.
. people often become distracted while talking to her due to the hallucinogenic dust that is spreading through the air; this means she might have difficulty holding serious conversations
. headaches, stuffy noise, nosebleeds, hyperactivity, insomnia, and constant back pain are other side effects that come along with her mutation
APPEARANCE SECTION: Molly is the spitting imagine of her mother, Sarah, and continues to look more and more like her as she gets older. Her skin is bronze and her hair a dark brown, although she likes to die brighter blond highlights in it. She keeps her hair long, at least past her shoulders, and usually lets it hang down. It's wavy but nowhere near curly. Her eyes are brown and her eyebrows dark and straight. Her lips are a pretty pale pink. She's about 5'5" which makes her a little bit shorter than her mother and weighs about 125lbs.
Molly likes make up and likes to play with different styles. She's usually at least wearing foundation, eye shadow, and mascara, but some days she likes to spend a little more time and experiment. She usually wears cute, casual clothes -- not ratty t-shirts or holey jeans, but tasteful things that are in good condition -- in bright colors. She has a good collection of cheap, knock-off bracelets and earrings and other bangles that she uses to accessorize. She's a pro at walking in heels but also doesn't mind sneakers and the like when she's going to be doing something a little more active.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: While this might not count as apparel, Molly does like to carry her dog around in her purse. She'll try to get away with bringing him with her everywhere, but she's been called out on it a few times in more professional places and usually knows when to keep him at home. He's a docile thing and doesn't cause much trouble.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Molly was very lucky. Even though her childhood left her without active parents, her sister took the burden off of her by maturing quickly, and Molly got to become the naive, fun-loving, and trusting girl she is today. Molly is very happy-go-lucky. She believes the best in everyone, sometimes even when proven otherwise. She makes excuses for people. She's the type to make up a story about the man going to the hospital to see his wife when someone cuts her off on the highway. She's optimistic and forgiving to a fault, enough that it would get her into trouble if her sister wasn't around to ground her.
Molly does spend a lot of her time with her head up in the clouds. She has a great imagination that she puts to good use with fantastic stories she likes to tell. Sometimes she even pretends their true, but it is all good-hearted lying. She feels horrible if she makes anyone really mad at her, but she is rarely the type to get sad. She's cried maybe five times in her whole entire life. She views the world through rose-tinted glasses and nothing can change her view.
But really, this isn't the best thing. She's the type to give the homeless guy on the corner a hundred dollars and the type to pick up the sketchy hitchhiker at two in the morning. She's the type to tell someone her social security number just because they asked for it. She's the type to fall for phone scams. But she doesn't really let it get to her. Every mistake rolls off of her with a shrug and a laugh and an "oops."
This isn't to say she isn't smart. She does okay in school and knows that sometimes people are bad, but she prefers to live in her world, where everyone is kind and likes her chatty style and trusting heart.
EXTRA QUIRK: The only time Molly will get well and truly mad is not when someone takes advantage of her, but when someone takes advantage of someone else she cares about. Like her sister, or her friends, or her dog. Then her anger can be something to be reckoned with.

CHILDHOOD: Molly was the second child of Michael Hobbs and Sarah Jones and spent all her life in Kalispell. Her sister, Alice, was only about a year older than her, but she'd always looked up to her as someone who would lead her down the right path. She doesn't have any memories of her mother. She was too young to really understand what was happening when she left them, being only about three. Alice told her that it was because she was mad at their dad and Molly could sort of see why, if he was anything like he was now. By the time Molly's memory kicked in, she only saw her father as a drunken, jobless, and depressed good-for-nothing.
But that was okay, because she had Alice to look after her. Even though she wasn't much older, Alice really took on the motherly roll for Molly. She always made sure that she had snacks packed for school and that she wasn't around their father when he was really drunk. As she grew up, she became closer and closer with Alice, and drifted farther and farther from her dad. Molly was the spitting image of Sarah and Michael never wanted to look at her for too long. But that was okay. Molly couldn't really miss a man she didn't even know.
Molly was allowed to have a nice, innocent childhood while her sister picked up the slack. And she was really grateful for that.
ADOLESCENCE: When Molly was ten and her sister was eleven, something big happened. Alice had spent the whole day crippled by back pain and Molly didn't know what was wrong. She didn't even bother to inform their father, because she knew that it wouldn't be any use, but she considered calling the hospital. But soon Alice exited the bathroom looking quiet different. She had wings, beautiful pink ones, sprouting out of her back. Like something out of a fairytale. Molly was freaking out now too, trying to get Alice to calm down and figure out what to do (because Molly didn't know).
They didn't have to deal with it for long, though. Recruiters from Bellefonte showed up and explained what had happened. Alice was just special, with a special mutation like her mother. She was supposed to attend this weird special school for mutants like her, which luckily was right in Kalispell. But it still worried Molly. Alice would be home less often since she had so many classes on campus. And Molly felt distant from her sister for the first time in her whole life. For once they weren't experiencing things together and it was weird. She didn't like it.
Luckily, that didn't last long. It was only about nine months later when Molly had those same symptoms start up. Horrendous back pain, the whole bit. She immediately called Alice, crying into the receiver, and soon she had a pair of green wings of her own. As much pain as it caused her, Molly was relieved. The gap between the two sisters could close again now that they had this in common too, and she could go to classes and stay on campus with her whenever they needed to.
But now that Molly is older, she can kind of see the drawbacks of having her sister here too, especially now that she'd decided to stay for college. She knew Alice just wanted to keep her safe and happy and that was great when she was ten. But now that she was seventeen, it was like having a helicopter mom. She obviously still loves and appreciates Alice and all the hard work she does for her, but she'd starting to get a little more snappy about having some freedom.
