When Cyril picked Reid up from home for a surprise date, Reid could not have been happier. Well, it wasn't really a surprise since they had already talked about it before but him showing up out of the blue was actually pretty cool. It was a good thing she was actually at home.
A picnic at the lake. It had such a romantic air to it that Reid just really liked. Leave it to Cyril to think about it though. She was just glad to go along with it.
It was still pretty hot so she decided on a dress and jean shorts. Pale skin and hot sun, it just didn't go well with each other, really.
Cyril had made their lunch, as always, and boy was she appreciative of it. Of course, his packed lunches were the best. Getting them delivered to the station was always a treat. And now she got to enjoy it with him. It was a pretty sweet deal.
She was fanning herself as she looked at the glistening lake that was completely unoccupied. She would have thought kids and some families would be there but no, it was virtually empty. They had the place to themselves.
"Tell me something...I know you told me that you came here for your sister but you think you'll stay even after she leaves for uni elsewhere?"

Cyril did his best to make this a surprise date, but it was kind of hard when he had to call her up and they would have to work out times for when she would be free long enough for them to spend time together. It got a little complicated from time to time since he also had a job to do, but it was summer time and the students were a lot more helpful at the club since most of them were not allowed to come home and they were bored and needed something to do. The horses gave them that something to do and with the added help, Cyril was able to get longer hours to himself with things were pretty much done. He at least figured he could surprise Reid by not telling her what time he was just going to show up and pick her up. Thankfully she had been there and he didn't feel like a loon for making the trip only to find she was not there because she had gone out for this, that, or the other thing.
It was another picnic idea, but this time by the lake until in the woods on their first date. There was no horseback either, but he figured Reid would have been fine with it either way. Plus all the picnic food was made by him, mostly little sandwiches this time and of course scones. Leave it to Cyril to end up dressing warm on this really hot day, but he didn't really have much of a choice. He brought his clothing over from the UK and that conceited mostly of jeans, long sleeve shirts, and jackets since it rained a lot over there. Needless to say he was feeling pretty warm and the lake water was starting to look really tempting to just jump in to cool off. Still he went with just remove the light outer plaid jacket that he was wearing over his grey shirt. Ah, little better. Cyril thought to himself as he leaned back and rested on his hands that were now behind him.
He was especially pleased that Reid had given him good reviews on the packed lunched that he had started to leave her at work when he had the time, figuring a change of pace from the whole quick and fast food would be good for her every now and again. He stared at the lake for a moment in the silence until the movement of Reid fanning herself caught his eye. "Yes, you are hot." Cyril said using the fact that she was fanning herself because she was actually hot and the fact that she was hot as in pleasing to the eye. He loved him some pun, jokes, and when words could work out so well in a situation such as this. He then looked back at the lake, pretty pleased that they had it to themselves, but remembered that kids were out camping and that they probably would show up later...maybe. He didn't care either way since it was a pretty large lake with plenty of room.
Reid then spoke up, wanting him to tell her something. Specifically about that fact that he moved here because of his sister and then if he would leave if she went to school elsewhere. Why did she want to know? Did he even know the answer to that? He thought on it for a moment, thinking how his sister would make a fuss in her own little emotions way if he kept following her around all of her life. "I know she did plan on going to college here, but even if she didn't...I would like to go anywhere that she would go, but she probably make it a point that I should stay where I'm happy and not worry about her so much..." Cyril said, hoping that was a good enough answer for the moment, because it was something he had to think about for a moment or two. Making his mind heavy with the thought of the brother he lost and how he didn't want to lose his sister.
"You plan on staying here all of your life?" Cyril then asked, wanting to hear her plans to give himself more time to think on it if she wanted to know more on his plan for where his sister would go off to college. That was in fact right around the corner, unless she was not doing all that well as she was saying she was.

Reid chuckled at Cyril's pun, still enjoying them especially when they were of the flirtatious nature.
His answer was pretty satisfying but at the same, Reid wasn't. Satisfied that was. What exactly had she been expecting?
The question brought a contemplative look on the telekinesis' face before she nodded. "Yeah. I think so." She responded. She had set up pretty deep roots here in Kalispell. Not only was she comfortable with her career here, she had people she genuinely cared for here. Her friends whom she already considered family. Everything was here.
"It's easier for me because I actually grew up here. Most of my adolescence was spent here so...I guess I've got roots. And lots of them here." She smiled softly as she bit into her sandwich.
"You're gonna have to teach me how to make these. I can't rely on your packed lunches forever, you know."

Cyril really didn't know where that question had come out of and was even less sure if Reid had been pleased by his answer. Was she hoping to hear that he planned on staying here the rest of his life? Maybe he would, but at the moment that didn't seem all too likely. He had students that he cared for that were like his little sisters and he loved his job with the horses, but the students would grow up and possibly not stick around. Plus while working with the horses was great and he loved the job and all, he still felt like he needed a bit more reason to stick around here. He looked at her as she answered his question back. She planned to stay here and how it was easier for her since she had basically grown up here and had a lot of roots here. She probably really liked her job so didn't want to leave and get another one like it anywhere else. Plus her going to the school meant she probably had a lot of friends that were sticking around.
Cyril didn't really have anyone. Not even his little sister since she was getting busy and getting a life of her own. He was working on making other friends, but his luck seemed to be more so with those younger than him then those his age. Not that it was a problem at all for him since he very much enjoyed the little sisters he had come to learn about and care for. He was just no from around here, and had not even been here for a year yet. "Must be nice to see those you basically grew up with around from time to time or all the time." Cyril said with a smile, envying her for that, but it had been his choice to come here with his sister and he didn't outright regret it since he would do anything for his little sister. Cyril hoped that he found a place to stick down his roots at some point, fully settle in, and start more of a life for himself.
"Oh, I planned on teaching you how to cook a ton of different things." Cyril confessed and he watched her take a bite of a sandwich, grabbing on himself and eating it. It was true she could not rely on his sandwiches forever since he might not be at the school forever and if he was not at the school he would probably go back home. He did grab another sandwich after he finished off the one he was eating, going to take it apart. "So you put the meat on top of the bread, then some cheese, and a bit of that, some kind of condiment you like, and then the bread again." Cyril teased, but he did want her to put the sandwich back together, which should have been easy enough.

"It is," Reid nodded with a small smile. She did enjoy bumping into the people she had grown up with many years ago. "Although some I'd much rather never see again but those are a rare few." She admitted, immediately thinking of her ex. He was still around, she was just a bit scared that she would bump into him and feelings would crop up. God wouldn't that just be terrible.
"Excellent." Reid grinned before she started chuckling and nudging the guy with her foot for being such a tease.
"Well I wasn't saying right now but sure." She rolled her eyes and got up into a sitting position, slapping things back where they were before. "We need to go shopping for groceries some time. I mean I love me some microwave dinners but at some point, a girl's gotta know how to work a stove, you know?"

He gave a small nod, smiling at her still as he tried to imagine a teenage Reid running around here with her friends. They all probably had a lot of fun, let he did when he was growing up. Just because an ocean separated them didn't mean that they were not like him or didn't experience what he did. They were all mutants so they had that one thing in common that probably cause them to go through a lot of similar things. His smiled did fade when she mentioned not wanting to ever see a few people again. His hand reaching out to softly touch the side of her face, rubbing his thumb along her cheek if she didn't move away from his touch. "You just let me know who those rare few are and I can work on making sure they don't ever come around you. That if they see you they better turn around and go the other way." Cyril offered Reid, meaning it and said it in a serious tone as he looked at her. His blue eyes full of concern as well as a desire to make sure she was happy and safe.
Reid was up for learning how to cook, which made things a lot easier for Cyril so he would not have to fight some battle to get her to start thinking about how she was going to have to start cooking for herself. He snickers as he watched her put the sandwich together. Reaching down to pick the sandwich she put back together to eat it as she brought up the need to go shopping and how she needed to know how to work a stove. He gave a small nod, waiting until his mouth was free of food before going to speak. "I would love to go with you. I was actually planning on suggesting that soon. Figured that way next time you invite me over to your place I can make you dinner there." Cyril said with a small sneaky smile appearing on his face as he finished his sandwich. His body moving into a position Reid should have been familiar with since their first date when he pounced her.
"Then if you are really nice and let me stay the night. I could cook you breakfast instead of buying it." Cyril said and then moved to pounce her so he could grab a hold of her and bring her in for a quick kiss on her lips. "Both times I will teach you of course. Don't want you to end up burning down your place, love." Cyril said with a smile, moving to give her some space before just removing his shirt all together. Taking a deep breath because that was a lot better than being hot. He figured Reid would not mind him being shirtless.

His intense response to her remark about not seeing some people had Reid frowning just slightly. She understood the need to protect the people around him, she liked that part about him. Did he also realise that she could handle that herself? Lucas, for instance, was small beans compared to the hardened criminals she had had to deal with in her line of work. "Thanks babe. But I think I can handle them myself." She reached over and patted his cheek.
Having Cyril around to go grocery shopping with would be good. She didn't know half of the fresh produce aisle so having someone who did would definitely be useful.
She yelped when he pounced on her, chuckling as they kissed. "Oh ho ho, you have such little faith in me. I rocked that cheesy ramen and you know it." She stuck her tongue out before licking her lips at him being shirtless. No, no she did not mind him being shirtless one bit.
"You like making a girl all flushed for you don't you." She chuckled as she got on her back, releasing her hair from the clip it had been in, splaying it behind her on the picnic cloth. "I didn't think it would be this hot here but wow."
Post by Cyril Kingsley on Jul 30, 2014 21:42:32 GMT -6
Cyril knew she could handle herself, she was a police officer after all and if she got the right jump on him she probably be able to take him down for at least a little while. It was not that he doubted her ability to take care of herself, but he did care about her and just like how he wanted to look after his actually sister and his 'little sisters' he desired to do the same thing for Reid. He did have pretty much the old school boy crush on her. He for sure would have written her cheesy letters with the whole 'would you go out with me yes or no' on it and everything. The only reason why he had not done that was because there was that other guy. Reid was not looking for some long term relationship at least that was how Cyril was taking it.
So no, he was not going to end up asking her out so long as he felt that was not what she wanted. She probably wanted to just have fun, sleep around, and enjoy herself. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it did make him wonder if there was a reason she seemed to not be up for a settled style of relationship. "I trust you can, just think of me as your backup then." Cyril smiled at the cheek pat and gave a small nod to himself; sure he was fine going out shopping with her. It was at least once place he for sure knew how to get to at least, so they would not get lost if he ended up driving. He snickered at the yelp and just grinned at her talk about her cheesy ramen, shaking his head a little. "I found that I liked the taste of you better." Cyril teased, snickering at again how that could be used both ways and pleased with himself. Noticing her licking her lips but didn't think anything of it because it was hot.
"Oh? Do I?" He asked as he raised a brow and gestured to him before flexing his arms a little. "I assume you are referring to me being shirtless." Cyril teased, knowing very well what she was getting at, going back to leaning back on his hands as he looked out to the water. Nodding at her words of how hot it was. "Might be because there is not a cloud in the sky and no breeze." Cyril said, running his hands through his hair, looking out at the water, tempted, but Reid was here on the blanket and so where the sandwiches so he probably was going to sit tight. For the time being anyways.
"Backup. Yes. I'll definitely call on my big strong cowboy if I get stuck in a rut." Reid affectionately patted his cheeks again and grinned before giving him a mock scandalised gasp at his insinuation.
"My goodness Mr. Kingsley." She mimicked a very poor British accent. "Why I never have been so turned on in my life from just words." She fanned herself, amused by Cyril's forwardness.
Letting her bottom lip slide from under her teeth, Reid gave him a not so subtle once over, regarding his remark about the weather as white noise. "Or because you're here. I don't know." She chuckled as she followed his line of sight.

Cyril chuckled at being called Reid's big strong cowboy, it being a while since he was called a cowboy. He figured he was something like one, but felt that he needed to be working with cows or at least some other animal then horses. Without another animal to be taking care of he felt like he was missing a big chunk of the whole cowboy life style. Pretty much all he had was the clothing and the horses, since his accent, looks, and his job in general didn't really go with the whole cowboy vibe. "Good, you better call on me. I'll show up on horseback if I need to." Cyril responded back and enjoyed that pat to his cheek and smirked at Reid's little mock scandalized gasp. She just knew how to get him to smile and amuse him, that was for sure. He actually found her attempt at the whole accent pretty charming, even if it was not super great. He did however lose it at her words.
By losing it, that meant he full out could not hold back a laugh and he even had to look away for a moment to get himself under control. "I never knew words could turn you on so easily Miss. Chase." Cyril responded back when he got his laughing together and messed with his spiky hair a little bit. Her fanning herself just sold it and his desire to just pull her close and kiss her was strong, but he fought against it for the moment. The heat probably helping with him giving her a bit of her personal space so they would not be causing one another to burn up. He so caught that she was looking him over, but just smirked at her. He was going to make a comment about it but then she commented on how the heat could have been because he was here, but she did not know. "That was smooth Reid." Cyril pointed out as he gave her an approving nod; he should have beaten her to using that line.
He blue eyes looked from the water to her when she asked if he wanted to go in. His response being to stand up and start to remove his jeans since he could not get his wallet and phone wet. Plus his boxers with horses on them could almost past for swimming trucks, just made out of a different material is all. "I would love to if you would care to join me. Just so we could cool off of course." Cyril said as he held his hand out to her. He planned to help her to her feet and wait until she looked like she was dressed down in what she felt would be fine to swim in a lake with.

"My hero." Reid smirked as she continued with her food. It was strange that she was even entertaining thoughts of letting a man save her. Especially from an ex. But she figured, they were joking. This was definitely just two lovers joking around. Cyril wasn't really underestimating her. He just had a stupid protective streak about him that she liked. Sort of.
Cyril's response to her earlier words had her chuckling, shaking her head in amusement. "Neither did I." She rolled over to her back and closed her eyes, basking in the warm sun. The hem of her dress fluttered in the breeze.
"Just for that?" She asked in a sultry tone, raising an eyebrow as she pulled her knee up just so her dress would fall off to reveal her thigh.
Post by Cyril Kingsley on Aug 16, 2014 23:09:33 GMT -6
Cyril smiled at being called her hero, but again he did feel like Reid could handle herself. Plus she was a cop so even if not, someone touched her and they would find themselves at least spending the night behind bars. "I'll for sure call on you if I get into any trouble with the Bobbies...cops." Cyril responded, forgetting that he could not just use the who British slang terms as easily as he did in the past. Not everyone would get them, plus since he had been trying to be more America, he may have been getting a few of them confused. He still figured Reid would get what he meant and boy where his blue eyes enjoying the sight of looking over her. He felt like she was teasing him in a way, but more so just luring him without even trying. He wished for a moment that he had that natural talent to just lure a lady in.
"Learn something new every day I supposed. I'll keep in in mind next time to make sure you are extra turned on. Is that even possible?" Cyril asked, finding it funny after he said it out loud. Could one really be extra turned on? He understood that your desires grew to the point that you could not stand it but did that still fall into the whole 'being turned on thing'. Now thinking about turned her he was wondering if he locked his door to his truck. It was at the stables at the moment so not lot anything bad would happen to it there. There was a question then that seemed to float into Cyril's ear. A question that came out in a sultry tone with Reid raising an eyebrow at him. His blue eyes looking down to her legs when she moved her knee to reveal a bit of her thigh.
"Seducing me, love?" Cyril asked with a smirk as he went to moved closer to her, his smirk turning into more of a grin as he moved to go whisper in her year. "Would you care to join me in the water for more than just cooling off?" Cyril re-asked his question in a whisper and he moved to give Reid's ear a kiss.
Reid reacted to the strange word with raised eyebrows and a grin. He corrected it, which made her chuckle and nod. "Yes. You do that. Call a Bobby to fight the other Bobbies." She teased. It was a dick thing to do but she did grin at the end to show she was joking.
Snorting at Cyril's remark, Reid responded with: "Try something and we'll find out."
Hearing him come over, the question made her shiver. The kiss, however, made her giggle and move away from Cyril. Rolling to her front, she pushed herself up and pulled her dress off her, revealing her lingerie. She kicked off her shoes and grinned slyly at Cyril.
"Try and catch me." She licked her lips and ran over to the water and swan dove in with nary a splash.
Post by Cyril Kingsley on Aug 17, 2014 1:24:26 GMT -6
Cyril snickered, knowing better then to every actually do that sort of thing, especially with Reid. He cared about her and didn't want to mess things up for her career that she clearly loved. So if he had even broken any laws or gotten himself into any trouble with the law he would accept the consequence and not put Reid through that kind of drama. He would just be a bad person if he expected Reid to keep him out of trouble just because she was an office of the law. Sure there were those who were corrupt and did things for bribes, but Cyril highly doubted Reid would even do something like that. Nope, Reid was not that kind of girl in his eyes and he trusted that even if it was him she still do her job. Sucked for him but it just made him feel that much more respectful at what Reid's job.
"Oh? You will tell me if it has an effect then?" Cyril asked, more than pleased to try something to see if it indeed would work. He was still not sure if it were possible, but Reid was will to be his test subject, so why not give it a go? He missed the shiver that was sent through her at the question but grinned at hearing the giggle. It was not a sign that he had done something to get her feeling something but more of something cute. She had to be ticklish and it was half tempting to check to see if she in fact was. He was even ready to give it a go by Reid rolled out of the way and got up. Removing what she was wearing to reveal the very nice lingerie she was wearing underneath that had his mouth hanging opening and staring at her.
Try and catch her? Oh how he wanted to snappy and keeps her from reaching the water but he was far more distracted watching her run. Head tilted to the side admiring the view as she dive into the lake. Oh right! Catch her! Cyril remembered snapping out of his staring as he stood up to remove his shoes and jeans. Already shirtless and now in his boxers he ran and being the classy guy that he was, Cyril jumped and did a cannonball into the lake. Breaking through the surface and messing with his hair as he looked around for Reid and when he spotted her he moved to pounce. Wanting to grab a hold of her because she said to catch her. "You better tell me know if I’m not allowed to use my powers." Cyril warned because he would in a heartbeat stamp and causes Reid to be stuck in the air and would just grab her that way.
Post by Reid Chase on Aug 17, 2014 12:26:50 GMT -6
Shrugging with pursed lips cast downwards, Reid gave him her 'I'll never tell' look.
When she was in the water, she didn't really expect Cyril to 'catch' her so when he asked his question, she frowned before using her own to send a blast of water his way. "What are you going to do?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
