Joy, another sleepless night. Devyn thought to herself as she lay in her sleeping bag in the cabin. Sure she had turned in early but she had been really active during the day and figured that she would at least crash and sleep well tonight. She was a night owl so she did expect to naturally wake up when it got really late at night, but the fact remained that she didn't even doze off at all. She had just been lying there the whole time, eyes closed and just trying to sleep. Trying to ignore everything going on around her and actually try and get some sleep. She could not go on forever not sleeping, she knew that. She would start to see things and get sick, luckily things had not gotten to the point yet, and she knew that she just had to do a bit more work and clear her mind and she would be able to get back to sleep again at some point. Her main fear was losing control over her power, and not really the whole seeing things part.
After checking what time it was she realized that it was almost curfew time so she went into 'sneak out mode' as she climbed out of her sleeping bag. It was good that she had night vision and control over the shadows because she was basically invisible when it came to late night escapes. It was why she often didn't get caught when she snuck out and tonight was no different as she snuck out and headed into the woods. The woods were always a nice place to go to when she was heavy with thoughts. It was her connection to her father and her beastly side as well. Being in the pitch black of the woods made her feel at ease where as it might have scared other students who could not see in the dark or watched one to many scary movies with killer in the woods. Devyn could care less about all those kind of things and her fears were more based upon herself then some scary killer guy in the woods.
Devyn kept walking until she could smell the scent of the water and approached the nice little lake. Grabbing a seat on a branch that was close to the water. Even taking off her shoes and socks to be able to dip her feet into the cold water. It was pretty cold in fact and it caused Devyn to shiver a moment before she just got used to it. The cold water was helping in a lot of ways. Devyn's green eyes looking up at the starry sky and able to see the moon shining above, lighting up the lake and the woods a little bit when it came out from behind the clouds.
