Hadley Elizabeth Roarke was truly the most shameful person alive. She did not deserve happiness. As a matter of fact, she deserved to not have Riley. He would make her life too peaceful, and far too great. The train of pride had derailed, and all of it's passengers were throwing rocks at it and setting it on fire.
Hads laid on her back with her hands behind her head. Compared to the last few days of rain, it was fantastic to lay outside in the gorgeous sun. The wind blew just enough to give a chill, but warm Hadley never felt it. The hoodies she always wore were really just for looks; if she wanted to walk around in the winter snow, she could.
The girl sighed and flipped on to her stomach, her forehead on the ground. She let out a groan. Two weeks after she fought with Riley, she found a new guy: Grayson. He made her happy, and he was fun to be around. More often than not, they seemed like really good friends, besides their make out sessions. Despite her happiness with him and his sweet heart, he wasn't Riley. And Riley was on her mind more than Grayson. It was the epitome of pathetic. It was also quite sad for Grayson, as he seemed so very content.
The sun was hidden behind a cloud for a few seconds, and it depressed her to see it go away. When it popped back out, she smiled and tuned her head so her cheek was lying on the ground instead of her forehead. Grass was getting in her perfectly clean blonde hair. It was down today, because Gray liked it that way. She was happy to oblige, because just being wanted was enough to make her give him anything he wanted.
What was happening to her? Why had one guy completely turned around her persona? Loud, attention grabbing Hadley was now quiet in most of her classes, and she became more easy going. Her temper was still there, but people had to push a little harder to get her going. The only thing that could set her on edge so quickly was.. Riley. A girl just mentioning his name made her want to burn down the campus. "Come back, Hadley," she muttered. She hated feeling so weak, and repressed.
