When Phones Attack

[Devyn Solway]

Devyn was hanging out in the lounge playing a video game on one of the consoles the school had out for everyone to use. Luckily people seemed to be smart and no better than to break something and thus Devyn was able to play with an old game cube and play her some Resident Evil. It was a pretty old game but it was a classic in a way and she felt like just playing Pokémon. The game was a personal one at that, having found it in her collection of games she had over the years since he father started buying her one every year until he died. She didn't play video games all that much anymore, it was more so a sometimes thing and this was one of the times. The room was pretty much empty for the most part except the people hanging out with someone else or coming and going like usual. Devyn didn't really care at the moment since she was content with being to herself and playing her game.

Wearing a pair of black jeans with a few snags in them and a black hoodie with the word 'Bark' on the back with a silhouette of a dog head barking. Not even bothering to pause her game she quickly pulled out her phone when it started ringing. Normally she let it go to voicemail, but she was expecting this call and put it on speaker so she could be hands free while she gammed. Immediately however she regretted it since it was the voice of a female and not the male buddy that Devyn had been expecting a call from. The female on the other end yelling about how Devyn was a cheater, should go jump into a lake tied to a cinder block, and other colorful language that Devyn sort of expected after turning the girl down when she asked her to go out. Devyn was already going out with someone and while it was an open relationship, she could not outright date someone else while she was going out with Zoe.

"Sec...you -re bre-ing up...." Devyn said faking like her voice was going out as she tried to fumble with one hand to hang up the phone which resulted in her getting killed. "Damn zombie thing." Devyn grumbled, with the phone still on which cause even more yelling from the woman and Devyn just sort of tossed her phone. Not wanting it to break but blamed it for her death. Not even realizing that she tossed it to hard and it ended up hitting someone.

What was he doing here? He wasn't really sure. He had been wandering around today and this is where he found himself. His eyes scanned the room for maybe something to do. Pool table; occupied, computers; occupied and he could do that in his dorm, video games; occupied as well. Actually, the video games caught his eyes, more-so the person playing them. This girl, boy? Shit. He couldn't tell. He looked for the tell-tale signs though. There was a slight bulge at the chest, but it seemed like they were pressed down. A binder. So, a him. Okay, well he seemed to be arguing with someone on the cell phone. Sam decided not to pry into the person's conversation, but decided to later strike up some talk. He really hadn't met another trans* person at the school yet so it'd be nice to have something in common with someone.

He turned to find something else to do in the mean time. His focus was turned back to the person on the couch shortly after since a phone made contact with his head. Sam groaned, rubbing his head. "What the motherfucking hell?" he growled in Devyn's direction, not meaning to sound as angry as he did. He bent down, hand still on his head, to pick up her phone. Sam held it back towards Devyn. "I assume you want this back?" he said, finally dropping his hand from his head.

The cursing was what caught Devyn by surprise since it had not come from her and it did not come from her game. She could have sworn she was the only on here at the moment but people wondered in and out all the time. Most of them out when they would see what game Devyn was playing but apparently whoever this guy was had no problem sticking around. Had he been upset that Devyn had died too? Had he been watching the whole time? So many questions that Devyn didn't feel the desire to figure out on her own since the person was right there and she could ask them. Simple as that. The guy had growled which almost made Devyn growl; beast thing, but she managed to not growl back and watched as he rubbed his head and made his way over to her. Having to turn around some more on the couch to reach out and take her phone when he offered it to her. "Yeah, that’s man. Sorry about hitting you in the head with it. Just some girl issues." Devyn said as she wiggled her phone as she said girl issues.

She looked over her phone, thankfully for the Otter box case it was in since her phone was completely protected. She did understand how much that had to hurt hitting his head however which was why she was getting up and heading over to the vending machine, getting a cold drink and a snack for herself. "Sit down for a sec and put this where my phone hit." Devyn said since she could not very well just like leave the dude to deal with maybe a small amount of brain damage or just a bump. Looking at him now, he was pretty cute and he looked like he was a lot older than most of the boys around here. Well not too much older. "How old are you?" Devyn just went ahead and asked her smirk appearing on her face as she sat down back on the couch and looked at him. Opening up her back of snacks and already starting to much h on them while she waited for an answer. "Oh, the names Devyn by the way." Devyn said as she offered out a hand because one needed to introduce themselves.

Girl issues. Not something Sam particularly understood. He didn't really date girls, or anyone really, but definitely not girls. He did once or twice, but it didn't really work out for him. He felt too feminine and panicked and left them. Point was, girls out of the question. "It's cool, I understand." kind of, not really. He never understood throwing things in anger. It was pointless, he just took the anger out on himself. Sam watched as she made her way to the vending machine, raising an eyebrow. The look faded before she returned because he understood what she was doing once she got a drink.

Sam nodded, plopping down onto the couch and grabbing the soda. He placed the cold can on his head, wincing a bit. He leaned back into the couch, putting his legs up on the table. "Going straight into the big questions, huh?" he smirked, chuckling a bit. She, Devyn, introduced herself. Devyn's a guy name so that just solidified his idea of her being a trans* man. He nodded, "I'm eighteen." he shifted the can on his head, wincing some more, "Samuel is mine." Sam moved to sitting back up straight. He peered at her, "how old are you?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I hate being yelled out over the phone." Devyn said after the guy said that he understood, letting out a heavy sigh. She already didn't like talking and using her phone all that much unless she really needed to. She liked her phone and all and did check her text and messages as soon as they came in and she had a moment. She was just bad at responding back to them and answering her phone when it rang. It was not her fault that she set her phones ringtones to songs that she liked to listen to so when her phone would ring she end up just rocking out to the song instead of answering the phone. She really should set things back to their default settings, but she was not all that worried about it and felt like if it was really important then they would leave a voice mail.

After handing over the drink and making herself comfy on the couch, she slouched down a little bit but kept her feet on the ground. Legs spread apart like she normally sat. "Asking your age when you are clearly young is not a big question. Big question would be if you were single and your sexual preference." Devyn pointed out, keeping her smirk and pleased to make her point. Yes, asking someone’s age when they were probably only a little bit older then you did not seem like that big of a question to her. Devyn's name was commonly thought of as a guy’s name, but it was actually unisex even if it was not spelled like Devyn's name was. Eighteen, not old at all. She did not see him with the seniors so that must have meant that he was a college boy then if he was still around the school. "Nice to meet you Samuel." Devyn said, remaining how she was sitting and went to close out of her game.

The question was asked back and had Devyn’s smirk not going away still. "Seventeen but trust me when I say my skills don’t match my age." Devyn said in a sly tone, leaving it up to Sam to figure out what skills she was talking about as she accidently started the level over so had to try again, but she was still able to talk and what not with him. "So what brings you to the commons?" Devyn asked, making conversation with the other guy since he only asked for her age back.

Samuel nodded at the person when she mentioned getting yelled at over the phone. To be honest, he hated being yelled at in general. Actually, he didn't know anyone who liked getting yelled at. Well, except for his sister, and that was only when she was working out. It was motivating or something. He chuckled a bit, watching the way she sat. Her legs were open, not typical of lady. It's decided, this person was definitely male-presenting. He dropped his legs off the table and turned to look at Devyn a bit more. It's rude to not look at someone in a conversation.

Sexual preference. That was a hard one. Samuel wasn't exactly sure what he liked. He knew he liked males, that's for sure. Sometimes he found himself fantasizing about girls, or at least being in a relationship with girls. He turned to look at the t.v. when the game suddenly started. "Skills." he repeated back, slightly questioning what she meant, but not expecting an answer.

"Nice to meet you too."he nodded, wincing again. What brought him to the commons? He wasn't exactly sure. He just came here by chance really. "I guess I was just wandering," he shrugged. And continued to watch her play the level. "Also, I'm single and demisexual," he smirked, turning to look back at her. "How about you?"

Devyn was one hundred percent female with no desire at all to be male even if she liked to confuse people as to what her real gender was. She was just a super tomboy and that was all there was to it. Sitting lady like or dressing like a girl was never really Devyn's thing even when she was a little girl. She wanted to be liked her father in every way sure, but she never actually thought about changing her gender to be a male like her father. No, she was happy as a female and felt like she could do a lot more than a male could, for certainly a longer amount of time. still, she had no clue what was going on in Samuel's head so of course she was not going to say anything as she went to work slaying some zombies, actually doing better this time around with being sort of distracted with the talking. Odd how talking on the phone didn't do the same thing for her but it might have been the fact that they were talking and not yelling at one another.

The words skills were repeated back that had Devyn smirking and looking to the other boy. Wondering if he was a virgin or jus ton the little naive side; it could have been both. She didn't care either way and had no problem explain, in a roundabout way that was not really explain. "Skills in many areas Samuel. If I tell you it does not leave anything to the imagination." Devyn said as she pointed to her head and ended up dying in the game since she had been looking away and that sort of thing did happen. She called it quits on the game for sure and started to eject the disk and turn off the system and the television. "Ah, nothing wrong with wondering." Devyn pointed out, not even sure why she saw him wince there for a moment. She was pretty sure she didn't do anything to scare him or say anything that would really get him blushing yet.

Then the answer to a question that Devyn had been teasing about since she said that they were sort of heavy question, not having a problem answering them herself however. So single and Demisexual. The hell was that? Here Devyn thought she knew all the sexualities and she was pretty sure she did with the ones that mattered. There was Asexual, Heterosexual, Homosexual, and Bisexual. Those were the only ones that Devyn actually counted since all the others basically said the same thing with just small differences that Devyn didn't feel like should have been a big deal. You like males, you liked females, you liked both, or you didn't like them at all. All the other stuff she did not see as important. "I'm in an open relationship and I'm Bisexual." Devyn answered back after having that mini little trying to figure things out in her head for a moment.

Samuel chuckled at a bit about skills. He wouldn't ever say he was skilled at anything in particular, especially not in bed. He never had many sexual encounters, not that he cared much for sex anyways. He was much more the cuddle and watch movies type than the up til 4 in the morning, can't walk the next day type. Even when having sex he didn't like to be touched, he'd focus on the other person rather than himself. His own body disgusted him and being touched drew attention to that. There was only ever one person who he could handle touching him, and he was half way across the world.

Sam removed the cold can from the bump on his head, rubbing the bump gently. He cracked the can open and sipped from it. He looked at her with her response. "Open relationship." he repeated back. "Does that mean you can bang other people or date other people? I've seen it both ways." he asked. Demisexual was an interesting sexuality. It meant that he wasn't sexually attracted to someone unless he had an emotional bond with them. It had it's pros; not banging strangers, and cons; being attracted to anyone who had the pity to be his friend.

Devyn was skilled in many things and best at things the involved being physical with the body. She was built, worked out, and had experience past her age in the ways of love making. She was only seventeen years old but she could probably bet that she had been with more people than the boy sitting next to her. She had been at it since she was fifteen years old, even if she lost her innocence at fourteen. She was not so bad in the begging, but as the years went on she just could not help herself and if someone wanted she and they made it clear, and then she was not one to really turn them down. She was trying to settle down a little more, but again if someone wanted her and acted on it, then she could not really help herself. Not that Samuel needed to know all of this since he didn't ask about her skills and what not in more specific details. Plus she was not one to brag so unless asked she was not really just going to start informing him.

Devyn chuckled at the question about the terms of her open relationship, and did figure that there were two kinds of them. "The one where I can bang others, as you put it." Devyn said with a small snicker, not used to using a word such as bang. She was used to either saying the real word or love making or things close to that. Not that it really mattered that much because they all still meant the same thing so long as the other person knew what you were talking about. "Have you even been with someone before at least...or does your being Demisexual make it hard?" Devyn asked, not figuring that Demisexual meant like the person liked someone who was like of mixed ethnicity. Demi to her made her think of demi god, which was half a god, so maybe he liked people that were half something else. Since they were not in some mystical world she could not think like half wolf or something, but instead half Asian maybe or things along those lines.
