[set before the whole attack/lockdown mess thing]
Just a few pictures, they'd said. Zoe had agreed, agreed quite willingly, in fact. She figured that with everything the school had been doing for her lately, the least she could do is volunteer some of her time and skill. Plus, as an added bonus, they'd given Zoe pretty well all the film she could use, so long as she took several photographs of the school. The idea was to get some for various promotional materials, and doing that did hurt Zoe's artistic soul. They had, however, suggested that more artistic shots wouldn't hurt either. Show the school and a good light and all that jazz.
So Zoe ventured into the courtyard, alternating between artistic, natural shots and shots that she thought might be good for brochures. Since she was staying strictly in the school grounds, she didn't even have her usual guardian or what have you. That alone would've been enough to put Zoe into a good mood: throw in the film and the fact that she was actively taking pictures and, well, Zoe was just happy overall. She got a few of the buildings, and then moved on to take snapshots of the various students.
She paused when she saw one in particular, who appeared to be freezing sections of the school. Zoe hemmed and hawed on approaching her, squirming a little and chewing her lip. Finally, she decided to call out, edging closer. "Hello, I, well, I'm Zoe, and I'm taking pictures for the school," wow, that was a lot better than admitting to her normal creepy reasons for doing so. Go figure. "I couldn't help but notice you doing, well, that,' she pointed at the fountain, "so, um, I was, well, wondering if, maybe, you'd mind if I took a few pictures of... you?"
