As Elise poured him the drink he smiled back silently at first. Taking the drink up for a sip, he paused. He gave the alcohol a quick sniff, then took the sip and swished the scotch about in his mouth, swallowing he savored the flavor as it went down. He smiled again. "Good as always, love." He said with a quaint nod. He gave her a quizzical look. "Events? Yes. Silverlight is upscale and a good scene for Kallispell. It's also a good place for you to do your little motherly routine." He teased. "As for karaoke, I'll leave it to the people who can actually sing, darling. Not to mention I come here for one thing exclusively after work. Well, two things, the second being this drink. The first..." He reached out and cupped her hands. "The first is the little firecracker of a proprietor that runs the place."

He sat up and took another swig from the glass, sighing appreciatively. "Not to mention the fact that she soothes my woes after work. Who knew that managing a student body could be so hard when the students can light things on fire without matches, or give people swirlies without the need for a toilet." He paused again. His gaze migrated back to her. Admittedly he always had a hard time looking away from her. And she clearly knew it, when she strutted the way she did sometimes. It was always easy for him to relax just by laying eyes on her sometimes. Especially when she would get all dressed up, or she took to teasing him. And she did it all without questioning the events of five years prior to his absence. Faithfulness was an understatement.

Elise leaned against the bar and watched Viktor as he spoke, her eyebrow shooting upwards at his crude comment, ''I'd watch myself if I were you,'' she said with a smirk and nodded slowly, humming along with the music as she went back to cleaning glasses, ''I think you'd do a good job at singing if you just give it a try - and some shots.'' Then again, she'd probably have a lot more fun watching him than him being on stage. She tried picturing it and it only brought a goofy grin to her lips. Elise's happy little bubble was popped as her darling reached for her arms, ''Oh, she sounds like a wonderful person. You're such a lucky guy,'' Indeed he was, because that certain firecracker was simply the best, if she dared admit so.

She caught herself watching him as he spoke. The way his features moved, the way his voice sounded... She never got tired of it. And it always, somehow caught her by surprise. A pleasant kind of surprise. Elise nodded slowly, a smirk once again creeping to her lips, ''Being a teenager is bad enough - mix that with superpowers and of course you'll have ticking bomb,'' And she spoke from experience. She leaned closer and rested her chin against the palm of her hand, ''Try thinking about what you're gaining from all of it - you get to help all these lost children,'' Even Elise had to admit that the job he had was not something she was caught out for. Sure, she loved kids and all, but her motherly nature would probably go berzerk.

She pulled his hand into hers and took the glass from him only to place it back on the counter. ''You're doing a great job, Viktor,'' she whispered with a soft smile and planted a kiss at the back of his hand before letting it go.

"I am. More than I ever thought i'd be. Five years and she could of run off with some other man, but she stayed, and she waited." He smiled softly at Elise. So much dedication she must have had to stay and be faithful. Not many could do that easily. He smiled again. "I suppose so. But what good does it do to train these children if only to send them back out into the world one day? They'll potentially get the wrong idea about what they're purpose is. And before you know it one will go rampaging through a city street and all of the Professor's attempts to keep powered's under wraps will have been for nothing. The governments all over are threatening to reveal the existence of schools and havens for the powered beings everywhere." 

He sighed and sat up a little. "I don't feel that way. Some of them are simply unteachable. Some learn extremely well and some are just afraid to learn at all." It was true, especially for the shifters, who had fears of their own shifted forms. Admittedly it wasn't unlike Viktor to be afraid either. But he had Elise, and his sister and his younger brother who all went through it with him. Some of these kids had nobody at all, or they didn't seek companionship. Among shifters it was supposed to be an unspoken kinship. But lately, not so much.

"Sometimes Elise, I wish my dad had been here to teach them... He was really something, mom tells me."
