Devyn was no longer stuck in the infirmary bed and more importantly not dead for that matter and that was thanks to three people really. Zoe for making the call, and the two on call staff that had basically saved Devyn's life. A woman by the name of Ceanna Riggs and a man by the name of Jason Campbell. Devyn owed them both a great deal of thanks and past that for some many things outside of just saving her life. She wanted to thank them both one on one and face to face. A letter or leaving some phone call was not going to do in this case. It was taking a bit of work to be able to find out where the two staff worked specifically. The On-Call Doctor at the school was Ceanna Riggs, who Devyn still had to meet to thank but also for a checkup like Guy had suggested. Then Jason Campbell worked in town at the clinic. Just the word clinic made a uncomfortable chill go up Devyn’s spine. She really did not like any hospital type places at all and didn’t want anything to do with it. However she had no choice, sure she could have called him up and arranged a meeting outside of his work, but if she was really up to the challenge of thanking him and paying him back then she should have been able to handle going to his place of work.
I hope he does not want to do a checkup, then again… Devyn thought to herself as she made her way to the clinic. Having already called yesterday to set up an appointment with Mr. Campbell himself, saying that he was the only person who could help her with something. She did not really like being dishonest, but she figured it was the only way they would make it seem important enough and towards something specific that only he could handle. She didn’t even know what he looked like, just his name; which she was going to call him Mr. Campbell unless she told him otherwise. Devyn would not lie that she was a little nervous about this all, since she did know of him since she had been here at the school for a while, but she never really talked to him. Plus it was pretty intimidating to go want to thank a guy that saved your life. Even if he was just doing his job, he had still saved her, and Devyn had been taught that when someone did something like that, you owed them something big in return. Maybe not being able to save their life in return, but anything that they asked of you, that you were able to do, you were supposed to do it.
She was in full on respect mode, even dressed up somewhat, wearing a nice pair of pants, a button up shirt made of a nice breathable cotton, and a red tie. She even made so to comb and brush her hair down flat and out of her face. Sure she could still pass for a male, but a well-dressed and looking like they were about to go to an interview male. Devyn took a deep breath for a moment as she stood outside the clinic, trying to give herself a pep talk in going inside. Alright, just do it. Get in, say what you have to say, and then run…or well try and linger a little bit. Devyn told herself as she went inside, going up to the counter. “Hi, I’m here to see Mr. Jason Campbell. I have an appointment in a few minutes.” Devyn said to one of the ladies working at the front desk, tempted to lay on the charm, but had to focus. Being informed to go wait in a specific area why they called him up and he would meet her and handle things from there. Devyn gave her thanks and moved to grab a seat in the area where she was told, looking down at the ground and gripping at the chair a little hard.
