I'm Going to Find You

[Devyn Solway]

Thinking back on it Devyn felt a little dumb for not having done this sooner and that she waited to this point to track down a guy she owed her thanks. Beau LaRoux, some boy that she had heard about before but he was never really of anything of concern or someone she would just go out looking for. However, when the incident between her and Zoe accorded in the laundry room, Zoe’s clothing was left behind, and left her girlfriend with only a few things. When Devyn did recover she went back to the laundry room, finding nothing behind of Zoe’s clothing, originally pissed off that someone would just take a girls clothing. She took in all the scents and tracked everyone down that she could whose scents were still strong enough to pick up on. She had to ask a few question before getting somewhere and learning that a teacher ended up dropping of Zoe’s clothing off and said teacher had been asked by a boy by the name of Beau LaRoux.

The lounge, music room, or outside. Devyn thought to herself from the information she had obtained from asking around. She had already finished up looking in the different lounges and not finding him. There were so many places he could be outside, but thankful this Beau guy seemed to be pretty well known and was informed that he was currently in the music room. Devyn headed there, knowing where it was just from knowing pretty much the layout of the whole school since she had been here for three years. She was wearing a pair of blue jeans that were falling just a little since she had broken her belt by accident, luckily she was wearing boxers underneath so if her pants did end up falling she would be fine, and a grey hoodie with the hood up for the moment.

“Is a Beau LaRoux in here?” Devyn asked as she opened up the door to the music room and walked in before really looking around to see if anyone was in fact in the room or how many there were. Others didn’t matter at the moment, she was looking for Beau. She did remove her sunglasses so she did not look scary or anything, even if her green were a little on the intense side since she was in track down mode.

As for Beau, he was in one of his usual positions: perched on a stool and enjoying the acoustics of the music room. Things were slightly different this time around, for his guitar sat off to the side. It had obviously been used and used recently, the battered instrument obviously having been carefully set aside but still left outside of the well-used case that sat a few feet away. However, instead of sitting there, strumming the guitar with practiced ease, Beau was somewhere else. He sat at the piano, his fingers dancing across the strings. He'd pulled an old rock tune out of his repertoire, the soft, light piano drifting through the room. He'd thought he'd left the door a little propped open, per usual, but he hadn't exactly been paying that much attention. Like always, his mind was elsewhere.

So much so that he didn't immediately notice that someone else had entered. He wasn't facing the entrance to the room head on, and he was obviously very into what he was doing. Add the music on top of that, and it was easy to see why he might not have immediately noticed. He did look more or less like a focused musician with those almost pretty boy looks. He only wore a pair of ragged jeans, shredded at the knees, and a light grey t-shirt that left most of his tanned biceps visible. And he hummed, unable to keep the music completely out of his voice, though not outright singing for the time being.

But yeah, he definitely wasn't noticing Devyn, at least, not right away...

Devyn was not greeted with some form of response as she had expected for all of her just busting into the room. Should have kicked the door down. Devyn thought for a moment, but knew she didn’t really need to go on a destruction warpath. Devyn just still had a bit of anger about the whole event was all, so she was thinking a little more aggressively than normal. Still, she was here to thank Beau for helping out her girlfriend. She didn't even think that his guy knew of Zoe since Zoe never brought him up in any conversation before. Maybe they have a secrete thing going on together. Devyn thought now for a small moment, clearly a little bit jealous, even if their relationship was open and Zoe could be with whoever she wanted to. Still it was in the best interest for Zoe, and whoever Zoe possibly ended up 'hanging out with' that Devyn did not find out. She shook those thoughts away for now, because it was possible that Beau had done this just to be nice.

The music coming from the piano oddly enough eased a bit of Devyn's anger even if the song was some form of old rock or what have you. Devyn was not sure. She only knew club style music and well music from her favorite bands. Which meat she liked dubstep, remixes, and then some bands like Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Linking Park, and Evanescence; to name a few. The door had been cracked either way when she entered so it didn’t really make that much of a sound when she entered. Going into stealth mode as she moved closer towards the boy playing the piano, who seemed to be really into it. As Devyn moved closer she could see that this boy had his looks about him. Attractive in other words, so Devyn was pretty sure she was going to end up flirting with him a little. Possibly, her mode was still a little more on the aggressive side, so she was not as flirtatious as she normal would be.

Here to thank a Beau LaRoux, focus. Devyn scolded herself, going to lean against the wall and wait. She was sort of enjoying the music and didn’t want to really interrupt the boy who seemed to be so into his music at the moment. Plus she was not even sure if she could get his attention without outright just jumping right on the keys and full body tackling him. So for now she would wait without a word, watching and listening to his music. She was pretty sure he was the guy she was looking for anyways based on the description she received about him. Putting her shades back on for the time, but keeping her hood on for now. Even if glasses and 'hats' should not have been worn indoors, they were at a school for mutant, so she was pretty sure certain clothing rules were allowed to be ignored.

Beau kept playing, his fingers moving skillfully through the song. He wasn't perfect of course; he sounded a lot better on guitar or singing, but it was unlikely that an inexperienced ear would catch the flaws. So it wasn't the sound of Devyn approaching that got him. Nor was it the sight, seeing as she proved as stealthy as she thought. No, it was the fact that as she drew within that dreaded ten feet range, Beau thought he saw a shadow move. He ignored it at first, but as the thing started drifting closer, he realized that something was up. He still finished the song, figuring that he wasn't about to be dragged into darkness, and then turned...

... to see a pretty dude? Beau blinked and stared at the person. The guy looked, well, pretty. People sometimes said that about Beau, though usually not to his face, but it was definitely the first word that came to mind when he looked at this particular guy. Blue jeans, hoodie, glasses, almost looked like he wanted to kick ass or something. That didn't stop Beau from smiling and raising a hand, a hand that seemed to get shadows tugging toward it. And did he hear whispering? He shoved the thought aside, hoping that the guy wasn't that close.

"Hey there,' he said, nodding. "Sorry I didn't hear ya come in. Get a little wrapped up when I play an' all," he didn't recognize the guy, and the dude didn't look too vicious. Still kinda badass though, sort of like he wanted to attack someone or something? Beau could've sworn he heard the shadows whispering something like that, but he just figured it was the own music echoing in his ears or something.

The boy had talent, well as far as Devyn could see, she was not musically inclined or anything and the piano was not really her favorite instrument or anything. Just the way his hands moved across the keys and the way the song didn’t sound well broken up or painful to the year had to mean he had talent. More talent than Devyn had, that was for sure. She could sing sort of, and play the electric guitar a little, but no real skill, more so just coping what she had heard. Thinking of that now she remembered there were flyers for a band, but she didn’t know if she was really the band member type. She could pull off the look yes, but again she was only sort of okay at playing the electric guitar and that was pretty much it.

Devyn did notice the shadow movement, but didn’t think of it too much since she figured it was just clouds moving over the sun or her power acting weird. Either way, Beau finished up his song and soon turned around and looked at her giving her something of a wave and a greeting. "Hey, you are Beau, right?" Devyn asked and gave a small shrug to his comment about not hearing her come in the room. "It’s alright, you seemed really into your song. You play pretty good." Devyn said, figuring since the subject was on her mind she might as well point it out. She extended a hand out to him so they could shake and be all proper like when greeting someone. "I'm Devyn Solway." Devyn introduced herself to him, even if he was not the person she was looking for she could try to get information out of him.

Beau nodded as the guy got his name right. Made sense, since apparently he was there to see Beau. "Beau LaRoux, actually," he supplied, as if there were other Beaus about that he might have been mistaken for. He chuckled at the song thing, shaking his head a little. "Yeah, that keeps happenin' to me. Get all wrapped up in the music an' all,' he shrugged. sometimes it helped him stay with the music, helped him perform, and it probably was part of what made him more enthralling to watch. Beau didn't like to overthink these things though, so he just sort of brushed it off.

Which he definitely didn't do when it came to the hand shake. He extended his hand and took the other guy's in, giving it a squeeze. soft hand for a guy, kinda dainty, but Beau had met a few guys here that were like that. The one-way tingle he felt whenever he got contact, and therefore the fullest version of someone's power, shot up his arm as his hand touched Devyn's. "Nice ta meet ya, Devyn. Don't reckon I've run into you before," he grinned, leaning back, "so I'm guessin' you ain't into country music or football," though even Beau wasn't really into football. he just liked playing sports and being outside; the football team let him do it. They weren't really active right now though, so Beau just let it adjust.

He let his hands fall down to his sides, drumming against them for a few moments. "Any particular reason you wanted to come an' see me?" he asked, still keeping friendly, all the way down to his smile. Sure, sometimes people came to accost him about flirting with the wrong girl, but Beau had been getting less and less attention of that sort of late; mostly because most of his attentions were laser focused on a particular girl. he supposed this might be about his standing up at the Headmaster's speech, or maybe word had gotten out that he was trying for the whole security squad thing. Too many ideas to even guess, hence why Beau had just asked the question instead of playing games.

Devyn gave a nod, having known his last name and was pretty sure he was the only Beau here, but she was not concerned about that. He was the guy she was looking for so her asking around had paid off, and she didn’t have to go back and give some people the shake down in case they had given her the wrong information. Devyn did try to not be violent, but where she was serious and focused on something, she did not like to be lied to. Devyn herself was not really a dishonest person, so really she just expected that people were not going to lie to her face. Do it behind her back and whatever sure, but to her face was just asking for trouble. She gave a small nod, understanding how easy it was to get lost in music, well in the way of listening to it. She could not relate to getting lost in it while playing since she didn’t really play. "You really enjoy it then." Devyn stated, but it was more of an out loud thought since she was pretty sure that Beau knew that about himself already.

Oh strong handshake. Devyn thought as he gripped her hand and gave it a squeeze, making her return the squeeze and give his hand a good shake before letting it go. Her green eyes looked him over for a moment; yeah he was cute, pretty cute in fact. Focus Devyn! Devyn scolded herself, at least wanting to get done what she had come here for and then she could flirt it up with him. He looked like he would be good at charming someone, or at least good at flirting. Plus Devyn was craving some male interaction, since she had been cooped up with girls a lot lately. Wondering to herself why she ever changed from being Co-Ed Dorm to Girls Dorm, but a bit late now and she liked her room and settled in nicely with her roommates so she was not going to be going anywhere anytime soon. "Not at all. I'm more of a stick to myself kind of person and too lazy for sports." Devyn responded and gave a small chuckle because no way to sports. "You might have seen me at the gym or running around campus. I work out a lot." Devyn said with a small shrug, tempted to flex, but that could be for later.

He went right down to finding out why she was looking for him, and she appreciated it. A man that liked to get down to what was important instead of beating around the bush and playing games. Direct. Devyn liked that in a guy. "I came to thank you for what you did for my girlfriend. Her clothing was left in the laundry room and you washed and had it dropped off." Devyn went on to say, getting right to the point as well, giving him a smile. She was really thankful that Beau had done what he did, since Devyn knew Zoe only had so many outfits and had to dress a certain way. She could tell that he was a good guy and she owed him. "How can I repay you?" Devyn asked after a moment since that was the main point of thanking him. Thank him and figure out how to pay him back.

Enjoyed music? Definitely an understatement, and hearing it just made Beau chuckle a little. "Yeah, music an' girls are the two things I'm best at," he drawled. It was an old saying of his, and just repeating it now made him chuckle. Depending on who you asked, he wasn't doing stupendous in the girls department lately. Beau LaRoux hadn't gone out with any girl in a romantic capacity for months now, instead seeming to prefer the company of his friend Liz Edison pretty exclusively. Don't think he wasn't all tied up about that too. He didn't dwell overlong on it though, since they had to figure out why Devyn was here.

Worked out; Beau nodded, figuring that was probably where he'd seen the other guy before. Did look like a dude that worked out, and his handshake was pretty firm on top of that. Beau wasn't entirely sure what power Devyn had, but the Southern boy was getting a sort of animalistic vibe, so he figured probably a shifter or some kind of claws or something. He wasn't going to pry unless it backfired on him or it somehow came up as it always seemed to.

But instead, the focus was on something a little more mundane: laundry, specifically the laundry of a girl that Beau and Miss Xi had done a little while back. He blinked, not quite believing that someone had actually approached him about that. "Ain't nothin' to pay me for, jus' what anyone would do," he said with a shrug. Though a few people had wondered why he'd bothered to do the...

Beau frowned, looking at Devyn again. "Wait, ain't that girl supposed to be some kinda lesbian or somethin'?" he asked. He blinked again, looking Devyn over. Yeah, that was definitely a guy. So had they gotten that wrong? "I knew that stupid website was makin' up crap 'bout people, but that's just low. Ain't like she ain't suffered enough without draggin' that into the mess..."

Devyn could not help but to have a sly smirk appear on her face as she heard Beau say that music and girls were the two things he was best at. Devyn could agree with the girl’s part, not so much the music part. Devyn still liked her boys however, so she would toss that in there as things she was best at just below working out. "Ladies man huh? We will have to have a nice talk about that." Devyn said keeping her smirk as she gave an approving nod at Beau. He gained more points on her like scale he was nice and was good with girls, all he had to do was tell her he loved meat or something and she would be sold. Maybe he can be my Wingman, or the other way around. Devyn thought since she did not mind either helping someone score with someone or being helped with scoring herself; even if she didn’t think she needed much help.

"Not anyone would do it. If I didn't know whose it was, I leave it there." Devyn admitted, knowing she was nice and did help out people here and there, but that was more so when said person was around and was looking like they were having difficulties. Zoe's clothing had been left there for anyone to do with as they please or ending up getting disposed of. Not everyone in the world was nice, so Devyn honestly appreciated when someone was. Especially when a person was nice to someone that she cares a lot about. A frown appeared on the boy’s face which caused Devyn to raise an eyebrow. Had she said something that offended him or upset him in anyway? She could not think of what it was, other then maybe him and Zoe really did have something going on in the shadows and Beau didn't know that Zoe was already going out with someone. Her head tilted a little to the side however at his question and it took her a moment to process it.

"I like to think that she is Devyn-sexual." Devyn responded after a moment of thinking. she knew for sure that Zoe liked her and she was a girl, plus Zoe had kissed Aya. Devyn had not really seen how Zoe looked at other girls but just by the way Zoe behaved Zoe had to be at least Bisexual, possibly an outright lesbian, but Devyn could not say for sure either way, since it was mostly just her and Zoe whenever they hung out. Devyn did not because she was more so agreeing that the website was stupid and it was wrong, about other things other than the whole sexual preference. "They make it seem like she attacked me when that is not the case at all. She can't turn her power off and it was my fault." Devyn informed Beau as she looked at him with her green eyes, stern and serious. "Don't believe that crap on there anyways." Devyn added after a moment, her hands become a fist, which she then shoved into her pockets and took a deep breath. Stay calm, no losing it.

Beau shrugged. "Anyone shouda done it," he replied instead, his voice level. He firmly believed that too: didn't matter if the girl had messed up or was living in sin or whatever. None of that made her any less a human being, heck, a girl who certainly didn't need her life to get any worse than it already was. Beau actually wanted to tell off some of the people he'd heard talking about the girl, even if he didn't know her name or much about her besides the fact that she wore a lot of clothing at one time and that most of it was frilly and girly.

(Well, Beau technically knew the girl's bra size and a few measurements, but he definitely wasn't going to focus on that or have anything memorized; Beau wasn't that kind of boy).

The Devyn-sexual comment made Beau chuckle. Didn't really clear things up though. Does it really matter though? Ain't like you weren't gonna help the girl when you thought she was a lesbian, right? Beau didn't want to think much about it. The whole sexuality thing just seemed all kinds of confusing to him, and he often just wished everyone would stick to going to the opposite sex, just to make things 'easy."

Beau listened as Devyn explained, defended even, and soon he was lifting his hands up. "Hey, you ain't gotta explain nothin' to me. I ain't pickin' up a torch an' chasin' your girl into the woods. Don't make much difference what she is: still a pretty girl an' one of God's creatures. Heck, if she's a girl, she's probably one o' God's prettier creations," he chuckled at that, leaning back. "An' I can understand not bein' able to deal with your power. Happens to everyone. Heck," he held up a hand, concentrating for a moment, feeling the shadows pull toward him. they felt... hungry, for some reason. Weird, but Beau hadn't ever thought of them that way before. "I kinda get that way from time to time. I jus' get to pick up other people's powers an' I've done some damage before," Beau nodded, lowering his hand and wiping it off on his shirt. Still felt cold, and maybe a little slimy. "everyone's jus' worked up on account of those SPECTRE folks," he stopped there though. Something told him that the last thing he should mention is that he didn't necessarily think that having the government poke around was that bad, especially to someone who was likely feeling the pinch all too well.

Anyone should have, people should have been ready to help others out, but that was not how the world worked. Not around the world anyways. People were selfish, only cared about themselves, and at the end of the day it was about what you did and how you succeeded. Not everyone thought like that of course, it was all a matter of opinion and the fact that everyone was different. Devyn herself knew she would not just do anything for anyone. She was not that nice. It was good the Beau was and she was not going to tell him not to be, but she just hoped that he would not end up helping out the wrong person. By wrong person she meant a person who was using him in a negative way, hurting him. Devyn disliked the people who used those so gullible, but that also meant she disliked herself sometimes because she would use gullible people too, for her own reasons.

I like this guy. Devyn thought, when he chuckled at her comment, they could be friends, best friends even. She was going to have to hang out with him again and was happy that Devyn gave a small apologetic looks when Beau raised his hands and informed her that he had no problem with Zoe. She figured he did not, since he had helped her out with the whole laundry thing. Devyn was more so just letting it out, letting off steam, talking about it in other words. Something she didn't really like doing because it caused her emotions to rile up inside her, but she could not help it at times. Knowing that some things you would have to talk about at some point because keeping it buried was going to eat away at you. Even with Devyn knew this; it did not mean she really was going to tell anyone about the things she preferred to shove away when they came to her mind. "She is definitely pretty." Devyn agreed with a small chuckle, noting how Beau brought up the whole God matter. Wondering if he was one of those who were laid back about the choices people made on who they loved or a extremists.

She was going to go with the first idea because he did really seem like a nice boy who didn't mind her and Zoe going out...unless he did not know that Devyn was a girl and thought she was a guy, which did happen often. Devyn went still and held her ground about hearing what Beau's power. "That had to be a pretty useful ability. So are you picking up on mine now or are the shadows moving because of me?" Devyn asked because she was not fully sure, since she was still feeling angry and new that her emotions did cause shadows to move around a little. Devyn nodded in agreement about Beau's comment about SPECTRE, letting out a deep sigh as she moved to lean back against the wall. "Yeah, and adding to people’s fears of them is not really made better after the issue I cause." Devyn ran a hand through her hair as she said that, feeling that stress coming back.

Beau smiled as Devyn called his girlfriend pretty. Wasn't that how everyone thought? Beau did have those measurements and such to work with though, so he had a pretty good idea of at least the girl's build. Not that something like that mattered: It was how that build curved and what it held inside that really made for a pretty girl, in Beau's highly estimable opinion.

They'd moved on from girls to powers, which didn't sit too well with Beau, but he knew it was inevitable. Besides, he'd technically brought it up, if in relation to the Government. "Reckon it's a bit of both," he replied, nodding. "I'm definitely pickin' up whatever you got." He sighed and leaned back a little. "'course, I don't got the trainin' you've had in usin' it. So sometimes stuff happens," he shrugged. He hadn't actually had an accident quite like what Devyn had experienced, though he had wounded people in training before. That was to be expected when you put a bunch of young people together and gave them all the ability to do weird stuff.

Beau recognized the stress, though he wasn't sure he could do much to help the other guy. "People are gettin' all worked up, can't really blame 'em. Hell, I'm a mutant an' I'm scared of what they can do," he nodded and rose, moving back to the piano. "They're all thinkin' that we're a buncha terrorists an' stuff; don't realize that we're mostly scared people like them,' he plunked a few keys, frowning down. "'course, we gotta make sure they don't go an' do somethin' stupid..." Beau trailed off. That was the reason he'd signed up to try out for the security squad, even though he preferred to avoid fights if he could manage it. This whole mess was just that: a big mess that nobody was gonna sort out any time soon.

If Devyn knew that Beau knew his girlfriend’s measurement, they would have had a very big problem on their hands. She didn't however, so that was not something to dwell upon in the least. To Devyn it was a mix of how all those curls fell together along with the personality of the person. It was a two part deal if she was going to be dating someone that had to at least fit her taste. Then personality had to work with hers in some way or else she would not bother involving herself with them. He brought up that he was picking up on her power, but seemed to not be sure of what it was himself. So he picked up others abilities in a way, but was not able to outright identify them. "So you could use my ability but not fully control it in other words?" Devyn asked, wanting to clarify, giving him a once over, sizing him up and then also checking him out. He passed two of her test so far, only one more to really know if she would like him outside of thinking he was pretty cool and would be fine with being friends with him.

"I'm not scared, for myself anyways." Devyn said simply since she really was not, not in the slightest. Sure there was a group that wanted to hurt them, but she had always expected that, knew that. Her father and her had talks about why they should remain hidden and not let people know what they could do. Not everyone would take what they could do as special, as gifts. Even if they were 'gifts' it was something that was out of their control, it was in their DNA, built into their bodies, and they had no control over becoming mutants. There was no fear for her life; it was more so fear for the lives of the people she cared about. She didn't want to lose anyone important to her again, that was all that mattered. "Yeah, but it does not help the fact that they’re a stupid mutants who add to the problem by being so quick to harm those who fear them or would want to hurt them." Devyn added, knowing that the whole idea of hurt your enemy first before they could hurt you.

However, there was that fact that they did not know their enemy all that well, so you could not just attack what you did not know about. That was like going to war without knowing how many soldiers the enemy had, which would of course lead to trouble if your army was greatly outnumbered and would just be a pointless battle where you would lose all your troops. Devyn gave a nod; agree with Beau on that matter as well which then brought the whole idea of the security squad to her head. "Are you going to try out for the Security Squad group? We need more smart people who are more concerned about protecting the students over the ones that just want to fight." Devyn said, not that she was in the group or anything, but she was thinking about trying out to. At least she knew that she should have been, even if normally it would not have been her thing, but after adding to the problem, she kind of owed it to the school to at least tryout. If she didn't make it she would just make sure to protect those important to her.

Beau nodded as Devyn pretty well summed up how his ability worked. "Might be able to figure it out, 'specially if it's close to somethin' I've handled before. But I ain't so sure 'bout this," it did feel decidedly weird. Sort of like when Beau got the ability to move an element with his mind but just... not quite. He wiggled his fingers again, but instead opted to try and put it from his mind. Messing with an ability you didn't understand was a good way to end up in trouble.

Beau let his fingers move idly over the keys while Devyn continued. Not afraid for himself, yeah, that was pretty much how Beau felt. He wasn't even entirely sure that his mutant ability would show if he wasn't around someone else. Heck, he could pretty much go into a crowd of completely normal people and blend in almost instantly, just so long as a mutant didn't pop up. Still, Beau was betting that Devyn was thinking about his girlfriend. Stupid mutants making everyone nervous, and they were already nervous enough at people, especially, well, Devyn's girlfriend.

The question finally got Beau's fingers to stop while he thought. He nodded. "That's my plan," he admitted, looking up at smiling at Devyn. "I reckon my ability would be a good one for it. But I got too many people to protect here, an', well," he looked around, clicking his tongue on the roof of his mouth, "I'm thinkin' that we gotta remember that these folks are our government people too. Everyone was all worried they were comin' after us, but those folks are supposed to be protectin' us an' all. I ain't comfortable 'bout takin' potshots at American troops, an' I don't think anyone should," he tapped a few keys, chuckling. "Don't reckon that's what you wanna hear though, given that they're gunnin' for your girlfriend somethin' special," he met Devyn's eyes, "an' that definitely ain't right."

"I think I understand. My power relates with shadows, so be a bit careful, unless you want the darkness to consume you." Devyn said in an ominous tone as she smirked, sort of teasing but at the same time not really. If he had never dealt with a power like hers before and he really did pick up on other peoples powers, well he could very well risk being covered in them. Wonder how far away from him I would have to be in order for it to not affect him. Devyn thought, figuring that his ability had to have some form of limit, or else he would be picking up on every mutants power? Could he pick up on more than one power at a time? Could that kill him? Devyn shook her head a little. Way too many thoughts and questions going on her head at the moment that she did not need. She had to admit his power was pretty interesting and that it would be very useful to have him around in a fight. Not that Devyn really planned on getting any fights soon. Plus there was still that small thought that he might have been more than a stranger to Zoe, still lingering in the back of Devyn's mind.

Beau seemed to be ideally playing on the piano for a moment while they were talking until Devyn's question in regards to him going for tryouts. She was wondering how he was going to even show that what he could do. Then again she didn't really know his power in full detail even after he explained it. There could have been so many little details and conditions to it that he did not bring up. Devyn looked at him and watched him closely as he spoke, giving a small nod in agreement to his words. "I agree with you to a certain point. After all, my father worked for the government, but even still. There are bad people in the world that even if their job was to protect they would hurt someone if they felt someone else was a threat to them. That whole self-preservation thing." Devyn said as she looked around the room once more, as if making sure that they were still in fact alone.

He eyes quickly went back to Beau when he brought up Zoe and just hearing the words 'gunnin' for your girlfriend somethin' special' made Devyn feel a little sick. Sick with guilt anyways, since she really did feel like it was her fault. No, there was no feeling, it really was her fault. If she would have just kept her hands to herself and left Zoe alone, none of this would be happening. Well it would happen at some point or another she figured. Peace seemed to only last so long for the human race sadly. War killed her father and now another form of war could very well kill Devyn or the people she cared about. "It’s not right. If anything they should be after me. Zoe is kind, innocent, and really would never just hurt someone just because she could." Devyn said, but then let out a sigh after a moment, feeling herself getting worked up again. It was becoming hard to keep a level head about all of this. "Either way, thanks Beau. On another note..." Devyn went to move closer towards Beau now that thought was back to her mind. "You touched her underwear, didn't you?" Devyn asked with a raised brow as a small smirk started to spread across her lips.
