Jason couldn’t believe there was no beer. Alright, it wasn’t all that unbelievable. He drank only on occasion and didn’t realize he finished the pack. He should have, really, since it had been almost all he had for a couple of days. It was his biggest problem. When he was into something, he forgot the rest, even basic needs such as sleep or to ingest any food. He drank beer and worked on his research, and crashed on his bed whenever he was too tired for his eyes to stay open. But he stopped this and was now on his ‘pulling weight’ phase. It basically meant he pushed away his research for a time, started to eat like a normal human being and socialized with people before they thought he was dead. As a doctor, you’d think he had better habits. But no.
It was not like Jason really needed a beer. But it’s always when you think of something to eat and you find out you ran out of it that you suddenly crave for it and don’t want anything else. He was in that situation. He wanted beer. And possibly some food to go with it. And apparently he could not get it here. Well he could, if he would just leave his place and go to the nearest store to buy some. But then he would have to think what to eat and make it and he didn’t want to. There was only one solution then: go to a place where he could have both beer and a meal and not cook it at all. He was not picky on the food, chicken wings or fries and a sandwich was more than enough for him. And he knew of a pub that served just that. It was perfect.
Alright, it was kind of stupid, to leave and go to a pub and pay a beer the price of a pack just because you don’t want to cook. But give the man a break! He worked hard enough to earn the right to be lazy if he felt like it. He drove there. Was it a restaurant that chose to look like those old Irish pubs or just a bar serving food as well? Not like he cared, really. He got himself a table, placed his order and smiled of satisfaction. Food. His body really needed some. And beer, well that was just a nice bonus.
