Karsen had slid back under his car to resume working, hoping that being shielded from Rosette would help get back on track. What was he thinking? Were things just supposed to magically figure themselves out as soon as she showed up? He hoped she knew that was't how the world worked because he was seriously worried about her. "Yeah that sounds good" A lunch between friends wouldn't hurt anyone right? He wasn't sure if having her so close was going to be good for him. She might have gotten better, but he was still just as bad if not worse as he was before. he was just better at keeping together because he had people that depended on him.
"No, i should be done an hour...maybe less. Just sit down and relax." He didn't trust anybody working on his car but him. It was a miracle that he had gotten it to run in the first place and keeping it running smoothly was something of a magic act. He did have another car he drove around, a blue SUV he had gotten a few months ago, just because he didn't want to risk hurting his baby in an accident or something.
Karsen groaned and shook his head "Can we not discuss out sex lives over the past four years, I rather not relive mine." If he could even remember half of their names, which he couldn't. the worse part was that it hadn't even been that many...they just weren't memorable.
"Yeah well i think you need a car that stands a chance in a accident."

She huffed toward him. "Karsen." She grumbled,"I learned how to fix cars from you." She moved to settle against the hood of the car, crossing her arms.
"Well, mum wasn't listening to me. I wanted a charger. But she said if anyone had a say in the car I got, it was this guy she's been trying to get me with -- Filip." She rolled her eyes. "He seemed to think buying me a classic, but slow, car would keep me in one place."
She puffed her cheeks out as she moved to settle beside of Karsen, fiddling with a nearby toolbox as she hummed. "I think the last time we were in this garage..." Her nose scrunched and she huffed, "Yeah..."
She winced; she remembered that night as clear as day. Cosette tipped her head forward to rest her hands against her temples, staring at the ground, scrunching her nose furiously.
"Kiff... You really need to watch your thoughts." She huffed, as she flopped onto her back, arms behind of her head -- she was using his toolbox as a makeshift pillow.

Karsen shrugged his shoulders from under the car, he didn't want to hear about her mutant hating mother, or the fact that she had some perfect guy her thought Cosette so should date. That few weeks they spent together in back in Canada two years was more then enough prove that she hated his guts. She didn't blame them, in all honest she was probably right to hate him. He wasn't the best thing for her daughter, he'd probably ruin her life somehow. "I know who taught you how to fix car, I taught you a lot of things. But I also learned a lot since I was sixteen and I don't know if I trust your skills enough to let you touch Bethany" He said snickering from under the car. Yes he named his cars, Bethany and Barbara because he could.
"I remember the last time we were in a garage" He said, trying to fill s mind with math problems, equations, tech stuff so that she couldn't see what he was thinking. He had never had a reason to try and keep her out, or change his thoughts. He never minded her reading his thoughts until recently. He had always been so honest with her that it was hard trying to keep his private thoughts a secret. It was funny how things had changed over four years and a few hooks up between them.
"Im trying" He said simply pushing himself from under the car to change tools. He was trying very hard. "I perfect Frodo, he's like super buff right now."

Cosette sighed at him and shook her head. Now was definitely not the time to bring up what she needed to bring up. She settled against the car and bit her lip, closing her eyes. She doubted she'd hear the end of it if she waited much longer.
"Karsen. You named her Bethany?" She scowled, more amused than anything else. "So original." She stated.
She would gaze at the ceiling and sigh. "I think you're right though. I should trade in for a safer car." Especially because she couldn't have the nanny driving Carly around all the time. She furrowed her brow and scrunched her nose quietly.
Eventually she would fall silent and focus on the thoughts and memories that the man had brought forth.

Karsen shrugged his shoulders as he moved from under his car and put the tools away. He wiped his hands off on his jumper before stepping out of them and putting his sneakers back on. "Yeah, yeah. Let me know what kind of car, and the color and Ill find something" He said offering her a smile. He would always help her no matter how upset he was wit her, it was just in his nature to help her.
"Pf-ft, Bethany is original as its gonna get. It's a classic name for a Classic" He said letting the car lift down so he could drive his car out of the garage. By some miracle life decided to not screw with him anymore and it actually started. Not that he was expecting anything less, but things were already going down hill for the day.
"How about we just stop at Mcdonalds, or order something when we get to your house?" He said after he had driven his car to the parking lot and closed up the garage."[/b]

"Ordering in would be best." She could introduce the two then. As she stood and moved to get into the passenger's seat, she stated, "How's Chinese sound?" Her head tipped to one side.
Cosette would shake her head. He had always been there. No matter how hateful she was with him.

Karsen nodded as he drove off "Yeah, just give me your address" He said smiling and taking off towards the address that she gave him. It wasn't as if there was anything wrong with going to her house for lunch. He was positive that he would be able to resist her should anything get heated. He knew fully well that when they started reminiscing and drinking things happened. That's how Canada happened, and he was not letting that happen again. She had ran away after that, and he hadn't seen her in two years.
they arrived at the Cos's house and he tilted his head. It wasn't what he expected of her. Then again when did she ever do anything that he expected of her. "Okay, but I can't stay long I need to get to work at the office." He said, shutting off the car and getting out. He figured the faster he got this over with the sooner the universe would stop kicking him in the teeth. If only he knew it was just the beginning.
