If Franck seemed to meddle so much with Ellen’s life, it was because he knew how much she felt for the other girl. Ashley obviously meant a lot to Ellen, yet at the same time, the blonde woman was so guarded that she refused to let it be so. So yes, Franck was applying a little push towards what he believed to be the right path. And provided much encouragements and advices. He believed it was only to allow Ellen to break from whatever that was in her that prevented her from bonding with anyone.
The problem here was that all Franck knew of Ashley was what Ellen told him. He knew only one side of her. Ellen could say all she wanted that Ashley was a sheltered, introverted girl scared of the outside world, Franck couldn’t help but wonder what part was true and what came only out of Ellen’s concern for the other woman. Compared to Ellen, no one was strong, so of course, if she compared Ashley to her, Franck could say that too.
Franck tried not to grin to or even smile at what Ellen said but he could not help it to show a bit on his face. “Of course. I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable, you should know me better than that,” Franck replied. Maybe he pulled Ellen out of her comfort zone a few times but Ellen could take it. And she knew how to fight back if she wanted to go and you tried to make her stay. “If she’s really not that good with people, maybe she should be the one suggesting something though. That way, she may be more at ease,” he added. Of course, that would be if Ellen ever bring that up to Ashley. Which he was not entirely sure she might.
