You're My Computer Guy Now

Erin was about to thank him for calling her awesome and great and likely would have gotten an ego boost from it, had she actually believed he was being serious when he said it. It more so came out like he was just saying it to say it or was actually being sarcastic. He probably was actually thinking that there was no way to win a girls heart by being herself and that she had to play some sort of game to get anywhere. He was probably right with the whole playing some game idea; and she was already trying to play it of sorts, but she still felt like she could win someone without piety.

At least she liked to have at least that much self-esteem within herself so she didn't think she was a complete loser and loss cause. She at least listened as Kyle went to try and break it down further in what seemed to be an attempt to get her to understand that she did not have hope unless she played the game a certain way. It seemed like while she could be herself, she had to like own up to who she was and win that way. Still sounded like he expected pity dates to just fall into her lap, which she highly doubted would happen even if she tried this piety route.

He said it was a game and she did understand games, but was still not really certain. Her eyes looked back at her computer screen for a moment, closing a few tabs, and pulling up another one that had a motivational sentence for the day for her to read. "Alright, how about i give it a try your way and if it does not work, then you have to change how you pay me for my services to the way that I desire." Erin said, offering up a deal. She still wanted to be in control of how he would pay her back but he seemed set in trying to get her some ladies and she could not deny that she wanted that. Thus, she was going to give it a try and if it didn't work then she could turn back to her original plan.

"one try? That's hardly fair," Kyle replied, adding a snort and folding his arms over his chest. They had circled back around the the price, however, so Kyle supposed he should be at least a little thankful for that. He looked away for a moment, considering. His plans did have a tendency of working out, and he was fairly confident in this one. Except knowing his luck Erin would aim too high or mess up in some other way and he'd end up blamed for it.

"So, what," Kyle looked back at her, "we do the really lame earpiece and mic thing?" He gestured at his ear. "Because otherwise I've got to take you at your word that it didn't work and that you didn't screw it up by doing something else," like being herself, but Kyle refrained from outright saying that for right now. "Are you sure you don't want to do the whole vid thing? Because I'm still definitely down for that sort of thing."

Kyle definitely wanted to put some sort of fail safe in here. then again, he supposed that if it didn't work with Erin he could always dig around and see if he could come up with another computer guy. There had to be more than one geek at this school, after all.

Erin let out a sigh when Kyle didn’t seem pleased about only getting one try for this sort of thing. Okay, he did have a point that one try would not be enough to ensure success or anything like that. It was unfair of her to only give him one chance to prove that option as useful to her and then fall back on him owing her another way. Then again, it was her help and if he didn’t want it he could go off and find him someone else to help him. There were other nerds out there that would probably do the work for him for free. Not Erin, she liked her compensation.

“Fine, more than one chance and I won’t say how many it is. Just no when I’ve had enough I’m dropping that as fair payment and changing it.” Erin responded. She didn’t actually set how many chances he could get, since she did kind of want to see if there would be any success from it all. She just knew herself and knew that she would only be able to handle so much of failures when trying to win a girl’s heart, especially if it was one girl’s heart in particular. Kyle was then asking of the plan, which she was about to point out that he was the one that was supposed to come up with whatever would work for such an operation.

“I…I don’t know. You come up with the plans and what will work. So long as it does not involve me being in a video that you are placing up on the internet. I don’t want nor need that kind of attention.” Erin responded, making that very clear. She had her own channel, liked how she did things without showing her face, and that was how she planned to keep it. Again she didn’t like people actually knowing who was on the other side of the screen; you lost all of your power then. Why would she do that if that would be the result?

“One zero zero, percent sure.” Erin responded, since he didn’t seem to get when she had said she didn’t want to do it the first time he brought it up. If this didn’t work and he didn’t want to pay her in an IOU that she would decide what it would be or cash, then they could terminate the contract. Since it was not actually written down and she didn’t work up on. She was tempted to but figured she didn’t need to get all business like with a student.

Kyle smiled and nodded. "That's all I'm asking for," he said. Again; he did have some potential alternatives if it came down to it. If Erin didn't give into his charm and charisma, then someone would eventually. He just had to do a little more legwork, and he could manage putting up some lackluster videos in the meanwhile. He'd just have to make sure to let his audience know.

Definitely didn't want attention: Kyle nodded at that. "Right, I'm just thinking we need to figure out which girls are going to be amendable. There's gotta be some other... lesbians and the like around," Kyle waved a hand to try and get past the term. "We'll probably go with the whole, setting up a computer problem deal. Get you in your element so you can have some confidence."

Should work. Everyone liked a good hero narrative. And Erin could play off the whole thing easily enough. Yeah, would totally work. She was certain she didn't want vids, fine: he could pull it together with just this. And if this didn't work, he'd just nudge Selina her way. That was one solid date and he'd have fulfilled his obligation. Win/Win. Kyle was all grins, extending his hand.

"So, we got a deal?"

That was all he was asking for. Erin was still a little bit iffy on it, but she nodded her head yet again to show that she agreed. "Alright." Erin responded as she typed up a few things on the computer before closing another tab. This was not the ideal situation to learn about seducing the ladies but where else was she going to learn and get a chance to actually apply the skills? The internet was only helping her so much in the matter and she needed some actual field experience and Kyle seemed like her best bet to go about that. The question was if what he would help out with would help her at all or would it just prove to embarrassed and waste her time?

"Uh...I mean I can look up information on all the girls in this school and provide a list of those that have made it common knowledge that they are lesbian, bi, or at least curious and give you the list of them." Erin offered up. Did that sound creepy? It probably was a little bit but then again said people had made it common knowledge so it was not like she was actually doing anything illegal this time around. "T-there is also uh...this girl I really like...but she is taken so like...it's not super important that I try and win her." Erin added, but she muttered most of it under her breath and she looked down at her keyboard and just hit the A key a few times.

"I'll try whatever." Erin admitted. She would probably put up a fuss and voice how she could not do something but if he gave her a big enough nudge and reminded her what this was all for, she would likely step it up. It was time to level up! "Yes, deal." Erin responded as she held out a hand to shake his in return. Now he better not break his end of the deal or she would break him in some way and that would likely be via his video things since that seemed to be what he cared about.

Okay, that did sound a bit creepy, creepy enough that even Kyle had to stop and wonder. Should he be caring about that sort of thing? Maybe looking out for the other girls or something? Well, it wasn't like he actually knew any of them, and Erin struck him as being pretty much harmless. And if she went serial killer or whatever, she was clearly going to take out girls, so Kyle didn't really see how that affected him (or at least not directly, and that was what he primarily cared about).

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Kyle held up his hands, waving them slightly, "you've already got your sights set on a girl?" he brought the hands down, leaning in. "That's usually something you lead with. I mean, if you're in a love triangle that's kind of a big deal. Assuming it is a love triangle and you're not just having some sort of unrequited feelings. Either way, if she's taken, the best thing you can do is hook up with someone. Even better if you find someone hot."

Kyle nodded and then shook the hand before leaning back and folding his arms over his chest. "Now we just have to get you set up with a totally hot babe. I'm sure there's got to be at least one who'll find all," he gestured at Erin, "this attractive and appealing or whatever." Kyle turned the hand back stroking. "This is going to be interesting," if nothing else then Kyle was seeing some potential amusement out of this, and, really, wasn't that what everyone cared about at the end?

Erin said nothing more on it, since well he probably thought it was creepy. Erin could still argue that it was not all that creepy since most of the information she would get would be from the school or info said girls had put up themselves. However; there was information that neither of those parties had put up, information that she found out about them that was no doubt personal. It was not her fault she had the skills to find anything hidden on someone’s computer. It was not a lie that there was no way to delete something once it made it onto the internet. It was a simple fact of life that sucked for those that had bad things end up on the internet, but it was true.

Kyle was then asking about Erin’s sights being set on a girl in particular which just had her blushing further as she looked down at the ground. She was going to answer the question but then he was pointing out that was what she should have led with. It was kind of hard to admit that she was really attracted to someone in the first place. Was it a love triangle kind of thing? In a way but she was pretty sure that it was a broken triangle since while Alex said she loved her, the other girl said that it was not in the way. That still hurt to think about which had Erin looking a bit sadder now, but she kept looking down towards the ground.

“I…yeah I do but…she is already in a relationship and uh…friend zoned me so…i-it’s not important.” Erin managed to get out. It hurt to say all of that and it was still very much important. She still wanted to try and win Alex’s feelings fully towards her, but she knew it was a fools dream. A dream all the same so she was not actually going to just give up on it without at least telling Alex her plan or just going through with the plan and seeing how things went from there. Erin did look up at him with a confused and doubtful expression on her face when he said the best thing that she could do was hook up with someone else. She highly doubted that was the thing to do because Alex would not get jealous if she had no reason to be.

Alex was no single and with someone that she obviously cared a lot more about then her last ex, so it seemed like a stupid idea. Erin was once again thinking that Kyle didn’t actually know what he was talking about but they had already made the deal so she had to at least give him more than one chance. She didn’t say anything else as he spoke, unable to find the words in herself again and just nodded her head a little bit. She was doubtful about all of this now, but she was going to give it a try. She was about to ask if that was all, but just opened her mouth and closed it to wait and see what he would say or do next.

Kyle winced as the term "friend-zone" came up. "Yeah, that's just some stupid term that losers came up with because they either got something confused or don't know how to flirt,' Kyle replied, before tapping his fingers and considering. He didn't know much about lesbian relationships, outside of what he'd seen in television and other programs. Those always presented them as being all kinds of complicated and supposedly something that everyone should find super hot (Kyle didn't and he didn't really get the appeal).

"Look, I'm not, like, here to give you a pep talk or whatever. But the people who end up in that zone? They aren't moving forward. If you're moving, you don't get stuck in any zone that you aren't taking with you. So, just, like, focus on getting another hot girl. She'll either distract you or make her jealous," Kyle shrugged. "That's usually how it works out in the end. Not gonna do you any good to sit still."

Kyle hesitated for a moment before reaching over and giving Erin a slight pat on the back, smiling at her in what he thought was a totally friendly, understanding manner.

Erin made a face when Kyle explained what the term friend-zoned meant, and she didn't agree with it. At least not in her case. "That...that’s a stupid assumption of the word. The two people could have felt something for one another, but didn't want to hurt the other so just wanted to be friends. It’s not cause the person is a confused loser or does not know how to flirt." Erin spoke up. It all just rubbed her the wrong way. She was certain Alex did like her and the other girl had said as much, she was just...scared. Or something along those line, but she just really didn't like it being a term that was 'created' for those reasons. She pressed one of the keys on her keyboard a few times while she waited for Kyle to say more.

She was still not so certain about all of this, but they had already made the deal so she was going to have to deal with it. Pun. Erin thought to herself, which brought a small smile inside her head for a moment. She listened as he explained about being stuck in the zone and not moving anywhere in it and other confusing things. Confusing things that she didn't really like hearing, especially when she wanted to try and be more than just a friend. Apparently, that was not going to happen; which caused Erin to frown a little bit more. "So then...what do I do? Just move on from her or do I like...try harder?" Erin went ahead and asked.

She felt weird asking it and maybe she should have just gone for the whole giving up and try with someone else. She really didn't know, she just knew that she wanted to kiss Alex once more time and feel that warm body against hers once more. There was a pat that had Erin flinching away for a moment before she just looked at him and quickly figured out that he was trying to be comforting.

"Yeah, sure, because if there's something there people would totally just stand and not do something about it," Kyle said, rolling his eyes. And people said that he thought too much in line with television and such. it sounded like someone had friendzoned this girl, hard, and she was trying to figure out how to deal with it emotionally. Kyle was tempted to just slap her and tell her to give it up. Hadn't he essentially done that already? There were so many people out there that moping over one just struck Kyle as being phenomenally stupid. Saying so wouldn't win him friends though, and that was the goal.

"It's like I said earlier," Kyle said, nodding and gesturing. "We get you hooked up with a pretty girl. Get you some practice, some exposure, some confidence," all of which this girl needed pretty desperately. she practically fainted just dealing with Kyle. Sure, that was normal, but it wasn't really going to get her anywhere with the ladies. "Then you can see if things change. Nothing's static."

Kyle shrugged. He wasn't sure what else to say at this point. "You got a type? We can at least aim for that with your big coming out party." Though again Kyle's mind went to Selina. Hey, she went out with him; Erin had to be a lot more manageable than that.
