Amara nodded her agreement, "I just love the way the show was written and the actors and actresses thy chose, just were so perfect," she admitted easily. It was campy and the special effects were rather terrible, sure, but that was half the fun of it all. It was the characters that Amara had grown so deeply attached to. Having a woman like Xena on the screen helped her feel like she had the strength to tackle bad days with merely a war cry.
Amara's entire countenance brightened at the thought of watching the show with Valerie, "I'd love to!" she replied sincerely. "I have it saved on Netflix if you want to come over to my place, or we could easily go to yours as well, whichever you feel more comfortable with? I can bring food and soda and it'll be a Xena party!" she added with excitement. Amara had felt slightly out of place since coming back to Bellefonte, especially with her being older than the vast majority of the students there.
She felt so happy at the thought of spending some time with another student and just relaxing and having fun that most of her shyness had dissipated. At Valerie's admission that she'd never been to a con, Amara grinned, "We'll definitely have to go together sometime if you like. My sister also adores fashion and would love to help you make a costume if you like," Amara offered easily, knowing Toby would jump at the chance.
Amara nodded with a smile, "I am too. It's great to meet another fan here on campus," she admitted.

Valerie nodded in total agreement. "I'm so glad they picked Lucy Lawless for Xena. She actually wasn't their first choice for the show!" Valerie said. "They originally wanted someone named Vanessa Angel, but she fell ill and they decided to get Lucy. And she almost missed the role because she was on a camping trip and a friend of hers had to get her!" Valerie said. Yes, Valerie was very into the show. Too much? Well, probably. But she never usually gushed so much because no one else liked the show like her. Which was why she blushed and ducked her head a bit. "O-oh! Um... Sorry. I, uh.... probably sound like a big, um, dork." She stated.
But then Amara was lighting up and assuring her that she'd absolutely love to watch the show with Valerie. She even had the whole show on netflix, which definitely made Valerie perk up again. "Oh! C-can we do yours? My room's really not that great." She admitted. There wasn't all that much in it except her workout gear and a few other personal things. But then Valerie was getting swept right back up again with Amara saying she'd bring Valerie to a con and even get her sister to help Valerie. The blonde's whole face lit up with excitement and she practically bounced. "That would be great! That you so much!"
And then at the last bit, Valerie definitely nodded, beaming happily. "I know! It's so rare, so I love meeting other Xena lovers." Valerie confessed as well.

Amara nodded in agreement, "I know, I am too. I just can't see Xena being played by anybody else." Amara usually loved fancasting other people as characters in shows, just for the creative fun of imagining what the show would have or could have been like, but Xena was one character that she just couldn't see as anybody else. "Amara just shook her had as Valerie apologized, "Not at all, or if you do, then I'm probably just as guilty of dorkiness. We can be dorks together. It'll be fun," she said with warm smile.
Amara nodded, "Of course we can. Does this weekend sound alright? That way we can marathon the show without having to worry about messing up a sleep schedule... or at least not as much," she added playfully. Amara absently wondered if that made her sound old, but then she shrugged off her worry. Her depression made her focus on such things, and she just had to deal with it.
Amara nodded, "Excellent! I'll let Toby know and we'll plan for one she can make it to. She often has to work, but she should have some time off soon," she added with a smile. It was great to be able to meet up with someone as excited as her and her sister about things like cosplay and cons. It just made her feel somewhat at home, even though Montana was so far from what she was used to.
Amara grinned at the last bit, "I'm glad I came out here today," she admitted. Usually she spent most of her time indoors and this had been sort of a spur of the moment decision, so she was happy she'd had the energy to do this.
