Tamara preferred not to give guys like this one too much attention. If you showed they affected you, even negatively, they thought they got under your skin and kept going at you. When you ignored them, they usually got the message sooner. You can still throw a few comments at them, always making sure they’d get you were not interested. She thought she had been polite. This guy just tried his luck. It only happened he did with the wrong person. It was why she more or less gave him a pat on the back before sending him away. If he thought it was patronizing, all the better. He would not be interested. And calling Matt by his name just proved she had the owner on her side if he kept bugging her.
He might have wished to stay, try a little more, see if he could be smooth enough to get a girl in his bed, but he got the hint and left with the drink Matt poured him. Tam did not even pay attention to what Matt gave the guy, she focused on the food he had placed next to her. She bothered to look only when Matt mentioned him. He went to some other girls. Some who might be more age-appropriate. “No offense to your gender Matt, but you tend to think with your lower brain more,” she let out as she checked them. These girls seemed more interested in him. A good thing. She turned to face Matt. “I prefer he goes for them, really. I have no intention of becoming a cougar.” They might argue it was the thing lately but that was not appealing to her at all.
She grabbed one of those chicken wings Matt brought her. It was hinting to being spicy, like a warning that she might just burp out flames if she ingested those. She chose not to heed the warning and ate it. Not very long after this one wing, she grabbed her beer. “Now I see what you were talking about. Nice idea coming from you. You can’t eat those without a pint or two,” she let out. She was still up to finish that basket though.
