They're Not Me

Part of Demi wanted to rebel, to roll her eyes or let out a groan or whatever, as Roxana talked and lectured. Except that it sounded a lot like the sort of thing that the honers would have told her back home, and well, it almost made Demi feel a little ashamed about what she did. It at least made her silent on the point, looking away for the moment, more than glad when something came up that sounded as if it would be a solid change of subject.

Though apparently not a good one. Rox didn't watch television? so why had she even suggested this? Demi was tempted to outright ask this, but then Rox kept going, talking about movies you watched when you were upset and something about shows with fighting. There was a look there, and clearly Roxana expected Demi to say or do something.

"Don't look at me," Demi said, shrugging and gesturing, "it's all really noisy and confusing to me. It's either super boring and hard to follow or it's super loud and really hard to listen to for long," another shrug. She had seen a few films and stuff with her roommates and stuff, and she'd tried anime. She definitely preferred manga. "Is there anything that's not, like, super loud but also involves fighting in it?" Demi asked, craning to try and look at the list now, though she wasn't sure the titles would really be all that helpful.
