Selina grinned as she took his cake and shrugged, “I have no idea why, I mean it looks delicious,” she replied with a grin as she took off a piece and ate it. She slowly licked the powdered sugar from her fingers, and maybe she did it a bit more sensually than was necessary, but she couldn’t help it.
Selina smiled at him, “Horror stories? Whatever do you mean?” she asked as she took another bite of the cake and slowly licked the sugar from her lips. “You sure you don’t want to try?” she asked with a wicked smirk.
He’d been good about this whole thing so far, and part of her honestly felt a bit bad about teasing him so harshly. He was in an unfamiliar place and this situation was probably uncomfortable for him, while she certainly hadn’t been making it easy.

Gabriel rolled his eyes, while it did look tempting the sprinkled sugar could've very well ben arsenic or something close. He wouldn't put it past her to try and posion him just to mess with him. Okay maybe just give him food posion....but it was still equally bad. He looked at the food again and sighed taking a piece and staring at it.
"Im pretty sure, you know what you're doing Ms.Taylor." He said rolling his eyes and eating the piece of funnel cake. It was actually pretty good, but incredibly sweet and greasy. He wasnt so sure he would ever try it again but he would why they were eating it.

Selina laughed and leaned in close to wipe some sugar off of the corner of his lip, “Hmm, in more ways than one, I’d think,” she murmured in agreement before slowly licking said sugar off of her finger. Selina then went back to eating her elephant ear as if nothing had happened.
“By the way, now that you’ve bought me wardrobe and invited me into your home, we should probably get to know each other better. You seem to have all the info about my past, yet I know next to nothing about you except for what’s on google,” she added. If they were going to do this relationship thing they should at least make it seem believable.

Gabriel snorted and rolled his eyes "Being sexy isnt gonna make me forget your torturing me" He said laughing a bit. He had to admit if was kind of distracting though. Made him forget that there was still the whole day and many more rides left.
She brought up a really good point. He wasn't really all the forth coming with information about him. Mostly because he didn't like to talk about himself. The more he knew about people the easier they were to use and vice versa. "Okay what do you wanna know" He said taking another piece if funnel cake.

Selina laughed and shrugged, “You can’t really blame me for trying can you?” she asked with a wry grin. All of a sudden she was reminded of just how far apart they really were. Part of her honestly felt like she’d finally had a chance to be on equal ground with him, and maybe that’s why she’d been so harsh. She always felt like she was so far beneath him that she would never reach up to the expectations that he no doubt had.
In fact, he was paying her because she would never be able to match him on any level, and that thought was a very cruel reality. No matter what, she’d never be his equal. The thought of trying was almost laughable really. Selina paused as her thoughts took a darker turn than she’d expected, “… I guess… I just want to know whatever you’d typically tell your girlfriend. So that way I can play the part,” she offered with a shrug. “I don’t know what that would be, so I suppose it’s up to you what you wanna tell,” she added with a forced smile. But no way in hell was she telling him what she’d been thinking.

"No, to be fair I'd do the same thing. Its kind of stupid that I haven't done anything as simple as go to a fair. My dad just didn't have time with work, and i was always studying or something to make him proud. I wasn't really into anything fun." Gabriek said shrugging his shouders. He didn't know if she understood, but he figured she could. The only thing that seperated them was the fact that he had way more money than she had. At least she had a mom who paided attention to her. It sounded like they were close, after all the money he was paying her was going to the woman right?
He blushed at bit at herr question. Was it not obvious why he was paying her to pretend girlfriend? Maybe it was to him but he thoughg he should say it. "Uhm, ive never had a girlfriend. Im more of a one night or friends with benefits type guy. Ive always been scared that if fall for someone they just like my money." He said smiling sadly. At least she knew something he didn't tell any if the girls he slEpt with or hung with.

Selina smiled at him and shook her head, “It’s not stupid, Gabe. It’s just life. Some poor people have never been to a fair either. It merely is what it is.” She didn’t really feel any sympathy for him, as she knew many who’d never had his luxuries tell a similar story about having to try so hard they could focus on nothing else. Only if they failed, there was so much more at stake. Like she’d told him. Life merely was what it was, and there was nothing her sympathy or lack thereof could really do for him now.
Selina’s grin widened when she heard his confession, and she laughed. “Well, I suppose that’s something we have in common. I’ve never been in a romantic relationship either,” she told him with a smirk. It just wasn’t something she’d ever been interested in, and for some reason she’d never really thought much of it. Sure the thought had crossed her mind, but it had never stayed long. “Though, I must admit, I’ve never had to fear anyone falling in love with me for money,” she added with a grin. For how extremely different they were, there were some surprising commonalities that she hadn’t thought would be possible.

Gabriel tilted his head and shrugged, He didn't want sympathy but his guard went up more. He realized how much he was actually letting her in and then remembered it was a business arrangement. They were not actually dating and he would remember that. "yeah, I guess" He said taking another piece of the dough thing he forgot the name off.
He was pretty sure that they had different reasons...completely different. He wasn't sure he could even describe his problem, they probably seemed like stupid complaining. Even if it was enough to make him drink until he forget his last name. "Well, you seemed to have a close knit family and people you care about. That's the kind of thing people like me don't always get." He was always jealous of those families who went on vacations and actually spent time together. It always seemed like no matter what, his dad and grandma had business when they were supposed to have family time. Did they care...probably but did he know that..eh.

Selina almost flinched at his tone. “I’m incredibly lucky to have the family I do. I know that,” she admitted quietly. Then again, why should she give a damn about him or his feelings or whatever it was he was going through? She was using him for money. Nothing more, nothing less. She would do well to remember that. But still… damn her ability to empathize. “But ‘people like me’?” she asked in curiosity. “What exactly do you mean by that?”
Selina studied him briefly before letting out a half-sigh, “And look, Gabriel. I-” she paused for a second trying to figure out what she wanted to say and how she was going to say it, “You’re- Just because you have money doesn’t mean your pain is illegitimate,” she admitted. She looked down at her hands and absently noticed that one was clenched in a tight fist. “But I’m also not going to apologize for being who I am,” she added evenly. She had a right to her anger, just as much as he had a right to his pain. She wouldn’t end up trading in her harsh realities for the soft words that might comfort him, even if he had harsh realities of his own.

"People that would Trade in their money, for something worth more. I know it's kind of Cliched for me to say there are things worth more than money but..I know that money isn't everything, but when you have nothing else to cling to....it's kind of...I can't explain it. It may seem like money is the answer to so many problems...and in a way it is..but it's not." Gabriel had no way of telling her that, that he would trade all his money to see his mom smile one more time. Even if she was always busy, she always made time for him. He didn't want to go on some long pity train that involved him admitting that he would actually like to fall in love, have something more than material things because Money couldn't keep him warm at night. No he wouldn't do that, he was way to strong for that and He knew that Selina was just in it for the money. He couldn't have picked a better candidate for the getting back at his dad thing.
"I know that and I don't want you to apologize, I get it, you had a hard life and you had to work for the simple things way harder than I have. I do know about your past...all of it and any time you want to talk I'm here. Not as..a pretend boyfriend but as a Friend. I do know how to be a friend." That was it, that was as far as she was getting, he wouldn't let her past the stuck up rich guy personality further than that. He couldn't do it, fall for the girl because she wouldn't return the favor. After it was all said and done she'd probably go find someone else to spend the night with. He knew that she was a free-spirit and he wouldn't stop that. He knew that she was going to wreck him when it was all said and done, he had seen the movies and he knew that he was setting himself up for a horrible fall.
"So, do you wanna finish torturing me or..do you not feel up to it anymore?"

Selina listened to him in silence before looking away. She could argue with him. Tell him about how money would have saved the lives of so many. Talk about how money was everything when you had nothing… but she didn’t. And why the hell didn’t she? Selina usually had no problem putting men like him in their proper place. Besides, he didn’t give a damn about her except for the fact that she was conventionally pretty and a potential thorn in his father’s side.
But still, he seemed to understand his own position a bit better than she’d originally thought… and maybe this just wasn’t the time. Besides, even she knew and could recognize that throwing money at something didn’t always fix the problem. So she nodded to him while keeping her silence. She couldn’t quite force herself to do any more than that.
A friend though, huh? What was his angle with this? Was he pitying her? Or thinking it would be easier to use her if she trusted him? What would he gain from it? He seemed to actually be genuine though… which made it so much harder for her to bite his head off properly. He’d invaded her personal life. Found all the things she never would have told him of her own accord, and now he wanted her to trust him. She still knew nothing but what google had told her and what little she could glean from what he’d just said.
Selina knew the power imbalance in their relationship was so far in his favor that she didn’t have the slightest chance against him in much of anything, but there was still a part of her that refused to admit such a thing. She still had her pride. So she looked him in the eye as she responded, “We’ll see.” That was her only answer to his offer of being a friend. It wasn’t a straight up ‘no’, which she’d highly considered, and she didn’t laugh in his face either, even though she could have. He’d been honest and open with her, so she'd decided to let him have a chance, no matter how small it may be.
“And I’ll torture you anytime you want, baby,” she replied with a grin. She had no problem with that.
