"Oh big whoop. You're already mad. Landing won't change that." She rolled her eyes.
"What amuses me is the fact that you think I actually care whether you're angry or not. That you feel you could hit me. That you could hit me until I stopped talking. We're at a carnival, surrounded by metal structures. And I'm a metal manipulator." Then the ride stopped to give a view and the girl glared at Ryan and she arched an eyebrow back.
"I didn't do anything." She swung her legs back and forth like a little kid in the air and laughed. Despite the argument, or perhaps because of it, Ryan was having a lot of fun.
Demi was tempted to point out that there were definitely gradations of mad and this idiot hadn't even begun to scratch the surface. She was also really tempted to point out that given that most of the metal around here happened to be connected to other stuff and/or have people on it or just be really dang big probably meant that the other girl couldn't do much with it. Demi could kill her with a handful of dirt and dust long before she actually managed to pull any of the metal around them free.
The stopping of the ride drove all that from Demi's mind. She could hear the other girl cackling and let out another sigh, rolling her eyes yet again. The girl did not get the whole not talking thing. If Demi didn't have to grip onto the ride to make sure not to flip out of their carriage, she probably would have gone through with the whole hitting thing. Heck, she was tempted to do so anyway. For now, she kept a white-knuckled grip on the ride, licking her lips slightly.
Demi then bothered to look around and, well, she happened to notice that they did have a pretty cool view. The whole fair thing stretched out all around them. So that was something. Demi didn't think it was worth being in this crazy death trap and being so far above the ground. That wasn't even touching the idiot beside her, who had better have decided to shut up, because otherwise, Demi was going to end up beating her into the ground when they touched down.

Yeah, definitely the impressive view. Demi almost found herself nodding along with the idiot, partially agreeing with her on at least one thing. Before she could say or do anything else though, Demi ended up flinching as the girl ended up yelling something and pressing back. Demi turned, not quite believing what she was seeing. The big bad tormenter was pressing herself against the seat and freaking out.
"Uh, yeah," Demi said, glancing toward the edge again. The heights weren't exactly leaving her feeling all that great herself, but at least she wasn't doing that. "You kinda knew that when you decided to ride, idiot," Demi certainly had. That's why she'd gotten on the machine in the first place. Her heart still hammered faster than she'd really like, and she wanted to get on the ground desperately, but at least she could handle it. Sure, she was tensing and gripping the railing tight, but that wasn't, well, whatever that was.
"it'll move again," Demi said with more confidence than she felt. "Besides, if you're such a metal bending badass you could just make the metal move us or catch you or whatever."

"It is NOT that. I knew I was getting on but I thought it would be fun. I did not consciously think about how high it was. I was too busy teasing YOU SO HOW COULD I HAVE HAD TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT FOR MYSELF?" She shook her head vehemently.
"Besides, despite my metal bending, it isn't completely reliable all the time. Better for attacks really. I can rip a loser's fillings out, but catching myself? Doesn't always work so I am so not trying that." She shuddered.
"And my issue is I have to SEE the heights now. Before I just saw the FERRIS WHEEL. Now I have to see the frickin' sky and the ground so far away...the sweet sweet ground with all its wonderful metals and loveliness and...wait...did I hear you mention you're an earth manipulator? Like, you manipulate the stuff that isn't metal?" Maybe she should be afraid of the heights, but she was easily distracted. Their powers might COMPLIMENT each other and finding a partner in crime was so much more important than fear.

At least Demi had enough sense to think of something ahead of time. She snorted as the redhead started panicking. The more Ryan's fear increased, the lower Demi's own fear got. it lowered still further when the girl admitted to not having much control over her metal bending. Yeah, Demi had pretty well figured that to be the case. She smirked at it.
The talk of the ground being far away did make Demi's expression fall slightly. She looked past her own white-knuckles on the bar, seeing how far away the ground happened to be. The idiot was still chirping in her ear, talking about the whole earth manipulator thing. "Uh, yeah," Demi said, her eyes flicking, "but, like, we're not supposed to--"
Before Demi could finish, the machine jerked. Demi flinched, her grip sliding, but, well, it was only the machine going back into motion. They were back into the rotation, heading back into the circular path. And as they went downward, Demi could almost feel herself collapsing with relief.

Ground. Ground. They were going back towards the ground. THEY WERE GOING BACK TOWARDS THE GROUND. Ryan's shoulders slumped with relief as she leaned against the metal back of the carriage chair of the ferris wheel.
"Oh thank God." She looked at the other girl.
"So...um...we're not going to try to kill each other once we get to the bottom of this thing are we? We are kind of in public. I mean, I have no issue fighting someone but generally it's just for fun...that's why I was...teasing you. Teasing...is that the right word?" Ryan tapped her chin.
"Not sure. It wasn't meant to make you angry in any case. I was just hoping I could make a friend. I'm kind of...inadequate at that." Her eyes looked down at her hands fiddling with each other in her lap.

Demi too could feel relieve, a lot of the tension leaving her body. She could hear the other girl vocalizing relief too. Demi glanced over at her again. She kept staring as the other girl continued, seeming now frightened at the prospect of fighting Demi. She should be :Demi could kick her ass even without using her powers at all. The pathetic girl just kept jibbering, talking about how she was just teasing.
"I wasn't joking about beating you up," Demi said, looking back toward the quickly approaching ground. The girl insisted that she wasn't trying to make Demi angry. "Well, you suck at that too," Demi insisted flatly. They hovered close to the ground. The attendants were coming forth then, likely to pry Demi's fingers off the bar of the Ferris Wheel and help the two of them get back on solid ground.

She took a deep breath as she finally touched dirt again.
"Sweet sweet ground." Then she looked right at Demi.
"You weren't huh? Well I guess we might need to go to a training room then." She smirked lopsidedly, her eyes betraying a wild sort of gleam.
"Sounds fun. I haven't truly let loose for years. Been trying not to get into too much trouble. But if it's for the sake of 'training' in a room, sounds good. Not that either of us need training." She laughed.

This girl just did not give up: Demi had to give her that much. She looked over at her, knowing that she'd beat her in about five minutes, if that. It was tempting to go along with it just for the satisfaction of pounding another one of these spoiled idiot's faces into the ground. Problem was that she'd have to actually meet with this idiot again, who was already talking about training rooms.
Ugh, it would so be the arena instead of a room. Demi just rolled her eyes. "Whatever," she said, walking away. She didn't see any reason to stick around now that she'd done what she'd came here to do. Her legs might be a bit shaky, but she wouldn't need long on solid ground to fix that. Maybe she'd go try something else out, there had to be something worthwhile in this stupid place...

Ryan shrugged. She could've totally beaten the girl, so perhaps it was better than Demi's pride remain intact. Also, Ryan kept her sanity this way so it was just as well. When she fought, her wild side came out and she became rather savage and strategic. It was something that took a while for her to dig herself out of. But a good fight would've been nice to work off some steam. Oh well.
"Hmm...which ride should I ride next?" With that she walked away from the dreaded ferris wheel to live another day.
