"Yeah, I know, right?" Drew waved a hand and shook his head. In truth his 'operation' was either far smaller or larger than most people thought. He was hardly some budding kingpin who rivaled Al Capone as a college freshman. Neither, though, could it be said the work he'd put into it wasn't impressive. Just because the network he'd had in place could do a great many illegal and very profitable things didn't mean he chose to use his resources for evil or personal gain. Most times. "It's a sad truth, though. I do the occasional sale on the side, fake ID's and smuggled booze, mostly. Drugs, for example, while profitable aren't worth the risk. I'm not in the business of getting myself sent to prison before I graduate college."
"Relax, Selina, may I call you Selina? I am paranoid. I step foot outside of Kalispell and someone, somewhere is going to snap a picture and it'll end up on a second rate tabloid blog with some poorly worded story about how I'm using my parent's money for drunken excursions all over the world." His head shook as he fished his car keys from his pocket. The lights of a clean, Mercedes SUV flashed as he approached. "And just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean I'm wrong." He pointed out.

Selina smiled at him, grateful that he didn’t seem to be offended by her offhanded comment. She could also definitely understand not wanting to be jailed. It had been a concern of her own. He seemed to be intelligent and sensible, as well as somewhat laid back. She had a feeling he’d probably be a fair boss. Selina’s smile widened as she considered what this could possibly mean for her immediate future. She usually went with her initial gut instinct regarding people, and even if she was still cautious about the endeavor, she had a good feeling about him so far.
Selina nodded to him when he asked what he should call her, “Selina’s perfectly fine. And what would be the appropriate way for me to address you?” she asked. He was apparently either someone of import or famous? If paparazzi were following him, he was more than he seemed. Or his parents were. Selina decided to go with being polite to be safe. She paused as she studied the Mercedes with a slight amount of awe. She’d never been within ten feet of a Mercedes before unless it was impounded or very close to being impounded. Selina nodded at him with a smile, “That’s so true,” she agreed. Her own paranoia, though obnoxious to deal with, had occasionally served her very well.
Right now though, that paranoia was keeping her about five feet from the SUV. Would an alarm go off if she got closer? Nice cars like this were not something she had any experience with, and she was worried about doing something wrong… Or wait, was she misunderstanding and he thought she had a car to follow him with? The only thing she’d ever used was public transport. Shit. Selina knew she was making too big of a deal out of it, but… she remained a good five feet from the SUV nonetheless.
"Drew." The teenager gave his simple answer with a muffled snort. This may have been a business arrangement of sorts but there was little sense of formality with Drew. He didn't look at Selina as being beneath him nor did he believe himself to be deserving of any false sense of respect or authority. This was a simply matter of the two of them being able to offer the other a mutually beneficial agreement.
"It's not going to bite you." Drew said, smirking a little as he pulled open the driver's side door of the expensive SUV. He'd long believed the ridiculously expensive vehicle was far too auspicious for his tastes but it had been given to him and his sister for their 17th birthday. Who was he to deny a gift from his parents?
Resting his arms against the open window, Drew peered at Selina, regarding her with a studious look. She had potential, of that he was sure. Her power coupled with her involvement in the martial arts club made it easy to dig up some information on her. He knew the effectiveness of her power through others who'd seen her train as well as her adeptness with her fists through the same means. It paid dividends to have eyes and ears all over campus. "One thing, Selina." He said, watching her. "When you're around me, you can relax. I'm going to play everything straight as long as you do. This is a simple agreement where we both can come out ahead." The smirk shifted to a warm and disarming smile as he nodded toward the SUV. "Now, come on. Let's get something to eat."

Just Drew. Selina laughed and nodded, “I can manage that.” Selina wasn’t exactly as fond of using first names as most people seemed to be, but she didn’t really mind it either. Sometimes she just preferred the easy distance that last names offered, but he looked to be around the same age as she was, so she didn’t care. She’d merely wondered if he’d had some sort of official title that he preferred. She’d heard a lot about wealthy people in her time, but had met very few of them. The delinquents sent to Chile were all too poor to afford the lawyers and bribes that would keep them elsewhere.
Selina eyed the car warily, but nodded her agreement when he’d told her it wouldn’t bite. She was still studying the machine in both fascination and slight apprehension when he spoke again. Selina looked up at him and caught his gaze, “Right, sounds good to me, Drew,” she agreed easily. She had an absent feeling that most his age with this much money and the paparazzi following them would probably be egotistical and difficult to deal with, but he seemed down-to-earth and rather pleasant. Besides, business agreement where both were on equal terms and came out ahead… she was liking this better already.
That smile of his too… Selina couldn’t help grinning in response and made her way to the SUV, maybe being a little too gentle with the car door, but still managing to open it and get inside the vehicle. Holy shit. Selina felt like she should have showered twice, put on a formal dress and donned make up just to sit inside. Her hands remained firmly in her lap, as she wasn’t going to risk touching anything and… maybe she wasn’t as good at this relaxing thing as she thought she would be. But it was also her first time in a vehicle like this. Selina slowly took a deep breath, and forced herself to calm before looking around in curiosity and taking it all in. She had a feeling she’d probably see plenty more of such things if she ended up working for him, and she knew she would probably need to adapt as quickly as she had when moving to a different country.

Selina was, quite frankly, looked like one of the last people anyone would ever tab for such an assignment. She was pretty with soft, almost youthful features that belied the edge residing behind her dark eyes. If he hadn't been 100% committed and accounted for, Drew could see himself being attracted to the girl in many ways. This, coupled with his knowledge of her mutant power, made her the perfect option to try out his new plan.
The SUV pulled out of its spots and slowly started moving through the parking lot. Drew sat behind the wheel with an air of relaxed confidence. It came as a great relief that Selina had seemed to quickly grow at ease in his presence as the last thing he wanted was to spook her off. If this little experiment of his was a success, it stood to make for an interesting time moving forward. "Have you considered getting any formal training in security and para-military tactics?" No, Drew didn't waste much time. He was right to the point, especially when he had a plan forming.

Selina considered his question for a brief moment before shaking her head, “I’ve occasionally thought about working as a basic security guard if that’s what you mean, but para-military tactics is a new concept for me. I would certainly be open to such training though,” she responded honestly. If it helped her get a well-paying job, she’d be willing to do almost anything… but aside from that, it also sounded interesting to her. Turning her rougher experiences into something productive and useful was an idea she was definitely attracted to, and this seemed like it could be an opportunity to do that.
Selina briefly wondered how military tactics were going to play into convincing people to pay up on their debts, but she kept quiet. He’d probably tell her in due time, as she didn’t have a feeling he was one to keep her in the dark unless it was necessary. She still wouldn’t walk into anything without full knowledge of what was going on, but she had a feeling that she didn’t need to reiterate that. Selina had a feeling though, that this job wouldn’t stop at just shaking people down for money. She had no idea what else he potentially had in mind, but she was willing to hear him out.
