The loud purr that the cat let out caused Devyn to glare at him and let out a low growl in the base of her throat. If she was a real canine she would have been able to bark and really growl at him, but her vocal cords were only capable of so much. She really, really hated cats like him. Here she thought that she was the best of pals when it came to mutants with cat based abilities, but clearly she had been wrong at least when it came to Humprhries.
She was just going to leave him as a special case because other feline shifters she had no real problem with. It was just this cat, this cat and his stupid smug cat face. She laid out her terms of the little agreement, but honestly still saw little reason why he would want to follow her. His best bet was to follow around Zoe; she seemed to be a hot topic for DL for the longest time. Devyn only felt what would happen from following her around would be the cat would end up getting hurt in some way, and it would likely be her fault.
Devyn quickly shook away that thought, shoving down the dark feelings and refocused. It was not like she was going to be here much longer anyways, none of it should have really mattered in the end, since she would leave BA behind. "Alright, if you say so. I guess as long as I don't see you and you don't show up doing like sex or something, it’s no big deal." Devyn said as she gave a small shrug. She did tilt her head a little to the side when he spoke up about helping her out with her transfer, which was...nice? She didn't trust it. "Really? Why help me with that? Really want me gone?" Devyn asked with a half chuckled leaving her lips with the last question.
Humphries again bobbed his head slightly. "No desire to observe the intercourse between you and another," he supplied, which was certainly true. Most of these young people were so into each other's bodies, exploring all the bits and pieces. Humphries had gotten that out of the way a while ago, and he had all but lost his interest in those that didn't have whiskers and fur, or at least the ability to put them on, by this point.
The question that followed almost caught him by surprise though. He tilted his head curiously: "Promising of the help I did. Delivering it I shall. Working to honor one's word is best way to insure that people are willing to work."
It was rather simple, and he was surprised that even Devyn hadn't gotten that point. He began moving around, clicking the right keys on the laptop, starting to close things down. He paused to look over to Devyn. "Being something of further discussion required?" he asked, looking up at her and adding a slight meow.

"Just wanted that to be clear." Devyn said. He was a cat after all and she knew cats had a habit of well staring at a lot of things. She just didn't want him watching if she was 'getting busy' with someone. She honestly still was not sure about him watching her at all, but she had a feeling he would do it even if she said no. So long as she didn't start to smell his scent all over her things, then she figured she could deal with it.
Plus it was not like she would be at the school that much longer if things went as planned. Even with the added help from the cat, things should have gone a lot better. She would not deny that she was probably having a hard time with the transfer because other schools were leery of her or something. She didn't know the details, she didn't really care. If she had a staff's word on the matter; even if he was a cat, that should have been able to help a little bit. "Didn't know cats had honor." Devyn said.
She did appreciate that, because she was all about the loyalty and keeping your word. By the way the cat started to move around, Dev assumed that they were pretty much done here. That meant she could get back to her room and cook herself something to eat. At his next question she shook her head no and already started to take a few steps back, not wanting to turn her back on the cat just yet. "Nope, I'm good. Try not to become the next big target of DL yourself." Devyn said as she gave the cat a small wave. With that, she took a few more steps backwards before turning around and heading off to her room.
Humphries gave Devyn a look with slightly lidded eyes. Felines perhaps be having more honor than you are knowing, especially this one was what he ended up sending her. True, he still intended to look out mainly for his own interests, and if that meant undermining Devyn at some point, he would do so. There were limits, but they were more hazy guidelines that he would work to follow as opposed to strict regulations. Well, beyond the ones he had to more or less obey to keep his job, that is.
The girl seemed to be on board, even offering Humphries some leeway. He nodded his head. "Do not be worrying about one: one is a cat; cats take good care of themselves." He had to purr slightly at that. Then he watched as the young woman stepped back, finally turning to leave the room. He'd gained at least one ally, and seemed to have at least one person he could openly follow. That was all he truly needed to begin.
Things were falling into place quite nicely. The cat, satisfied, turned and trotted away, purring as he left the room, pausing only to send signals to know that the job had been done and the computer could be put away.
