Franck saw no reason to argue with the cat following him around. He didn’t think Humphries needed his permission to decide to do it. At least not Franck would be aware. It was not like this made him nervous. He had nothing to hide. The most shameful thing about him was the fact he was gay and his boyfriend was a loud and childish teenage boy. He was openly gay, so there really was no surprise there. He didn't think Humphries would find anything.
It was strange, the mix of emotions he got. It was unclear, a mix between human feelings he could get and feline ones he could not. Was he surprised though that the cat found Frank to be a burden? Not really. He figured it was the opinion of most staff members. She had no attention span whatsoever, she was loud and she loved pranks. He had an indulgent smile at the request Humphries had for him. “I don’t think she would listen to it but I suppose I can try.... She is not ill-intended, for what it’s worth,” he felt like adding. He had to be on her side. The girl just didn’t seem to understand in just the kind of trouble she was sometimes getting herself into. You’d think being kidnapped and famished would have taught her something. It didn't seem to have.
He felt sorry for Humphries, and every staff dealing with her, but he also loved her nature and didn’t want her to change, really. Still, he supposed it would not hurt if she toned it down a little. “Was that all? It’s just... my father may come any minute now, and I don’t think he’ll be comfortable with a talking cat in his kitchen.” He could say that the cat was talking right? It was a form of talk.
Yes, Humphries had most certainly accomplished his primary objective. not even the most strict of his detractors could complain of his following students that had granted his permission to follow. He simply had to make certain to handle it as well as he could, and given Humphries' abilities and talents, he was fairly confident that he could handle it very well indeed.
His secondary objective, however, was proving decidedly more elusive. Humphries shifted and the machine actually spoke out the word: "Sigh," which made the cat give it a slightly sharp look before looking back. He knew the girl wasn't possessing ill intentions. That didn't make her any less of a nuisance or hindrance. Still, if Franck could curb his friend's enthusiasm even a little, then Humphries would be in a good position.
So the cat flicked his tail and closed his eyes in agreement. They opened as Franck continued, mentioning his father and the desire to move. Humphries looked at him, then at the laptop. He flicked his tail toward that, ready to send the message: "Someone shall be along to collect that shortly," which had been programmed in, of course. The cat looked up at Franck and nodded before one last twitch: "Thank you," and then Humphries was off, heading away and heading toward the completion of further parts to his plan.

Frank was a sweet girl but it was true she needed to know when to stop. Something that Franck seemed able to help her with at times, apparently, but not nearly as much as what people seemed to think. He knew he was what one would call a ‘good influence’ on her but Franck didn’t really want to change her. As annoying as she can be when in Frank Zone, it also made her quite endearing and he didn’t want her to become serious. A little more, perhaps, but he wanted her to stay who she was too. Still, he might try and tell her she didn’t have to go after the cat. Now, whether or not that request would be obeyed remained to be seen.
To read the word sigh was weird. So it was what a cat looked like when it sighed? It was still funny to see that the device read it as a sigh and chose to write it down on the computer. Something that didn’t seem to please the cat. Again, Franck was not entirely sure as he couldn’t get a proper reading of Humphries’ emotions. But this looked like a glare alright.
He was hoping for his father not to return now. If he could explain a cat getting into the house without too much of a problem, explaining about this cat in particular might be harder. His father didn’t need to know they had a cat as a security staff member. Luckily, Humphries understood it was maybe time to take his leave. “How are you...” But Humphries seemed ready to go now which had Franck understand he had a way to go back that might not involve his four legs only. It would be quite a walk, especially for a cat. He stood there, looking at the cat as a final message appeared. Thank you. “Uh, you’re welcome?” Franck replied, unable for it not to sound like a question. As Humphries said, someone would come shortly after to get the laptop and if that was not the one supposed to get it, well Franck still gave it to them. He doubted he'd ever have an encounter stranger than this one.
