Tim chuckled and held up his hands. "Hey, I didn't have to teach her anything. Seemed to have naturally picked up all the batty curses. Which are way more descriptive than anything we could come up, believe me," Tim had tried to directly translate a few of them. Not all of them translated well on paper, and they generally involved pooping on people, screaming in ears, or hoping that someone got lost and never came out from a cave.
"And hey, no messing with the chair," he said, waving his hands again. He wheeled himself a little closer, keeping a close eye on both his bat and the girl. "You wouldn't want to attack a cripple, would you?" Though Tim had to grin at that. he knew he wouldn't be in the chair too much longer, thankfully. Still, he had to take advantage of the situation while it still lasted.
At least Furby seemed to be mostly chilled now. "Should be able to take her back to the dorm," Tim said, studying her with a critical eye. "She's got her own perch," technically a cage, but the door was always open and Furby pretty well just went wherever the hell she wanted. She had more freedom in their dorm than Tim: he still couldn't go into Lux's room without permission.

Ryan laughed.
"So she's a dirty mouthed little animal all on her own is she?" She shook her head with a smile. And then the guy mentioned the wheelchair and she crossed her arms.
"You know that whole equality thing people keep going on about? It means I don't give a damn whether you're able-bodied or disabled. It just means you'd be easier for me to straighten out if you do something wrong." If there was one thing Ryan had, it was attitude. With guys, she felt she might be more like a big sister than anything. Someone who was always willing to call someone on their crap.

"Pretty much," Tim agreed, nodding along. He all but had the bat and that meant he was pretty sure he should be heading back to work on what he'd been working on prior. Tim had a busy enough schedule that just hanging around somewhere rarely actually fit in with what he wanted to do.
Ryan had gotten all arm-crossing and defending though, causing Tim to look up at him. Easier for her to... seriously? "Treating everyone the same isn't the same as being equal," Tim replied, before raising his brows. "Something to think on. C'mon Furby," he gestured for the bat to come to him, and she did so, though she would've given Ryan one last lick. Then it was into Tim's lap and headed for the door, one wheeled push after another.

She watched as he left, baffled by his parting words. Being equal wasn't the same as being treated the same? Why not?
"Damn it world, quit tying my brain in knots." Ryan shook her head, walking out the other exit. Maybe if she painted she could figure this out. Or forget about it. Either way would be good. People were confusing.
