"Speechless? Some of my fangirls have said I have that effect." He laughed, smiling a cocky grin. Yes, he was apologetic. But he also had the confidence in the behaviour. He could be insecure sometimes, but he was confident about that insecurity being an important part of him, so that made things more okay. He saw her fidgeting and he sighed.
"I am bothering you. I was going to ask you what kinds of photos you focused on, as a way of making conversation. But I can leave." He turned with a sad smile, shrugging.

Fangirls? Zoe let out a little laugh at that, wondering why he would even mention such a thing. That cockiness returned, and it almost seemed strange given what he'd been doing mere moments before. Maybe he was overcompensating for something? Zoe had heard about that sort of thing. He did seem to be mixing the strange confident comments with the nervous fidgeting, and again, Zoe couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
"It's alright, really," she insisted. She shuffled the pile of flyers and, since they kept being such a bother, she turned to set them on a nearby couch. Then she drew one up and held it so he could get a better look. "I usually, um, take photographs of people," she tapped the flyer, showing the mutant male breathing fire into the night. "This is a... friend of mine who I caught right when he was releasing his inner fire," she paused, smiling bashfully, looking up at Cade and down at the photograph, "literally. But, ah, I usually," she fidgeted again, "Take pictures of people and write poems. Sometimes places but, usually... people."
Zoe paused again, fidgeting and keeping the flyer raised, figuring that he could maybe take it if he wanted or just leave it if he had grabbed one earlier or something.

"It's neat that you found someone with a physical mutation to take pictures of. I wouldn't be much help. I can just enhance the muscles in parts of my body. Otherwise I'd offer." He shrugged, sighing.
"And since the school confiscated my sword, I'm nothing special anymore..." He grinned.
"Kidding. But I totally miss that thing. It was a part of me for so long." Cade grabbed the flyer she had up and smiled, putting it at his eye level.
"There. Now the taller people can see it as well. I mean...I..." His shoulders slumped.
"That came out wrong. I just meant it's good that there's a flyer visible for people at all levels...you'll get more people that way."

Zoe smiled at his comment. "Well, it's actually more than one somebody. There's at least a dozen mutants that posed as subjects for my show, with powers ranging from crystal formation to fire breathing," she nodded toward the flyer, "to, um, pixie wings." Which caused her to flush, mostly because that last happened to be her current girlfriend, who still didn't quite know that she happened to be in the show. Zoe had plans to make sure she did though.
"I'm certain you're quite special even without your... your sword," Zoe offered. She couldn't help but find it somewhat strange that someone in this day and age would even have a sword but, well, people at the school came from all walks of life. Maybe he was into old combat practices or ancient Asian customs or something along that.
Oh, wait: he was kidding. Zoe flushed at that, which made it a little easier for him to just go ahead and put up the flyer. His comment had her flushing again, but she waved off his apology. "it's quite alright. You're right, after all," she looked up at it. "I do hope that people come..."

"You're very nice. I can see why people I've talked to think so highly of you." He had a feeling even Devyn still thought highly of this chick, so Cade had to have some respect for Zoe.
"My powers are only boosting physical prime. My sword skills are where I actually excel. My parents had tons of trainers come in so that I'd be able to use my ancestor's heirloom sword. It was passed down through the centuries. Even before my relatives started exhibiting power manifestations, we were a bloodline of badasses." Oops he was bragging. He chuckled and smiled sheepishly.
"Hence why Olivia wants to do a project on me. She finds the history interesting because of her obsession learning about powers. She picks my brain about it every chance she gets. And is constantly frustrated that I didn't pay as much attention to the history my parents taught me as I probably should've."

Zoe flushed again as Cade complimented her, averting her eyes and looking back to the flyers. She'd picked them up again, shuffling about, working them. As she did, she heard Cade start to discuss his power again. Zoe looked over as he continued, going on about how his power was something of a boost. That struck Zoe as being quite useful, and she was tempted to say as much, but she certainly didn't want to interrupt him, and he did seem to continue on.
A bloodline of badasses?
"That is quite impressive," Zoe managed, her voice slightly shaky. The thought of someone who trained with a sword and traced mutantkind back, well, it was slightly overwhelming. Though Zoe had heard about people like that, she certainly hadn't met any, at least, not until now. "I'm sure there's plenty of things we'd wished we'd paid more attention to..."
Zoe could think of some things herself, though she kept them to herself, just standing there and chewing on her cheek again. After a few seconds, she remembered what she was supposed to be doing: "Um, I need to go put these up over school, so, ah, I guess I'll... see you around?" Zoe took a few hesitant steps away. After all, she didn't want to be rude but, well, she also definitely needed to do this, and she was starting to think she'd be more efficient alone.

"Oh. Okay." He rubbed the back of his neck with a smile.
"Yeah see you around. Sorry for bothering you. It was interesting talking to you, even for the short while it was. Have a great day, alright? Hope your show goes well." The last thing he wanted to be was a bother. He sighed, turning to walk away to leave her to put up the flyers. Then he looked over his shoulder with a grin.
"Don't keep droppin' the flyers, alright?" Okay he was teasing her. He couldn't help it.

Zoe smiled again, nodding. It was... interesting, she had to give him that much, at the least. And, well, Zoe couldn't help but think that the young man was probably a good fit for Devyn. She thought she might try to mention it to her friend/ex, but, well, she definitely didn't want to get Cade's hope up. Devyn was... difficult some times.
The guy was already walking away, then teasing her, and she let out a little laugh. "I'll manage. Hopefully you don't need to save anyone else!" She raised the fingers of one hand to give him a little wave.
Then Zoe nodded, turned, and let out a breath. Yes, she definitely needed to get ready, and that meant moving and getting more posters put up. She could only hope this went well...
