Was there hesitation? Yeah, of course. They were dealing with a cop and as much as he appreciated cops every now and then, this one in particular was a real dickhead. Him chuckling or laughing at Niko didn't piss him off. It was the fact that he felt the need to regard the fact that he was a police officer.
Looking back down at Frankie when she grabbed his wrist, she mentioned calling the police and all the guy did was humor it. It showed you how much he really cared and that was perfectly fine with Niko because soon he wasn't going to care either. He raised a brow at the guy, "Yeah, that's the last thing you want me to do." Especially with the abilities he was packing with, a simple sound wasn't so simple. But when he saw the cop grab Franklin, just the sudden movement towards her made him go into a protective mode. Clenching his jaw, Niko grabbed at her other hand and pulled her back behind him before he threw a punch straight for the cop's face.
It was beyond belief how heated he'd become in under a minute but cop or not, he wasn't going to let some strange guy tug Frankie around, let alone talk about her like she wasn't right there. He had no respect for anyone else and if that was the case then Niko didn't have to have respect for him. Despite of the consequences behind it. "Don't fuckin' touch her."

Feeling the cop tug at her, she yanked her head in his direction and looked at him with wide eyes, clearly surprised, but before she really had much chance of reacting, she felt her other arm being tugged the other way, and really, before she even got the chance to blink, she found herself standing behind Niko again. Opening her mouth to speak, she flinched as Niko punched the guy in the face and her jaw just about dropped to the ground. Lifting her hands, she covered her mouth and stepped back, eyes wide.
What the hell were you supposed to say to something like that? She had never seen anyone get punched before. Fuck, she didn't think she'd ever seen Niko get violent before, or be this pissed. It scared her. Quite frankly, it chilled her to the bone, and as much as she hated seeing him like this, she could also understand where he was coming from. The cop had been way out of line, and he deserved getting punched for it. She just wished it hadn't happened because she was too cowardly to stand up for herself.
"Holy fuck," she yelped, taking yet another step backwards, only to crash against the brick wall behind her. She looked at the cop, to Niko, back to the cop again and then back to Niko, blinking rapidly as she felt her eyes burn.

Considering that JJ had been antagonizing Niko for the better part of the past few minutes, he'd certainly seen the punch coming. He'd been ready for it, and he was ready to take it, practically leaning into it. JJ often took that first punch. Yeah, it sometimes hurt like hell, but it also immediately kicked his adrenaline into overdrive. And once JJ's adrenaline kicked in, well.
"Heh," JJ laughed dryly. "That all you got? No wonder she's starved for a real guy. Don't worry: I'll make sure to treat her real nice. Oh," JJ cracked his neck, "she'll be walking funny for a few days, but I'm sure you can kiss it and make it all better!" With the last few words, JJ lashed out with his arm. The power-fueled punch moved far faster then a normal humans, and would hit far harder. JJ had aimed for Niko's solar plexus, figuring that he could crumple the guy with one quick punch.
He knew how this worked: one punch gets the guy down, winded, hurt, maybe some light damage. Then when the guy's "oh fuck" started to kick in, the girl would begin whining, begging and pleading for JJ to stop. Then came the offer to do anything, and next thing you knew, JJ was screwing away at a crying girl.
Hey, who cared if they cried? Just made them a little wetter.

Anger had clearly gotten the best of him in this situation, which wasn't new. He was known to have something of a temper which wasn't the best of traits but it made sure he wasn't the one to be stepped on. It had felt good to punch the jerk square in his face but there was some sort of confusion when he noticed how much the cop ate the punch. It was like, he just stood there and took and it even looked like he enjoyed it. It didn't really help that he could hear Franklin's reaction that just kind of set how much of a mistake he just made.
Niko was pretty sure he'd do it again.
"You're fucking sick and dude you need help." His brows furrowed but before he knew it, the punch had been faster than his last sly remark and had hit way harder than he had expected. His eyes instantly shut as he gritted his teeth, doubling over until he fell on his knees. It knocked the wind out of him but damn, he hadn't expected it to hit that hard. There would've been a usual cuss word or two that would have shot out of his mouth but in this case, catching his breath would be more important right now.
All he wanted for right this moment was for Franklin to leave and go back home because he didn't need her being apart of this situation, had he decided to use his powers in public. "...Frankie... go."

She didn't get much of a chance at reacting to the guy's words before he decided to play fire with fire. The second punch had Frankie flinching, and as such, she automatically stepped backwards, her hands cupped over her mouth and her eyes wide. She couldn't pull her eyes away from Niko for several seconds before her brown eyed gaze lifted slowly to meet the cop's.
How could anyone possibly be that horrible? It made her sick. Sick to her stomach. All she wanted to do was... She had no idea, honestly. There was little she could do. She didn't even have a power that could help either of them, and that made her feel more helpless than ever.
Though, luckily, Niko had a power that could possibly turn the situation around.
When he asked her to leave, she looked at him again, taking a step backwards. Hesitating, she dropped her hands to her sides and opened her mouth to speak, but in her state of shock, no words escaped her lips. Instead, she simply nodded and looked back at the other guy before turning around to walk away.
Yeah, yeah, fucking sick, needed help, like JJ hadn't heard that and worse from people before. It all became noise after hearing it so many times, just a bunch of nonsense syllables and crap. Besides, his adrenaline had started pounding, and when that got started, there was just no backing up. Not as he felt his fist connecting, heard the guy collapse.
"Hey!" snapped JJ, all the false pleasure and tease out of his voice. Anger flooded through him, further dumping more junk into his system. "Listen here, bitch!" he was practically roaring, and he moved quickly again, this time bringing his knee up, hoping to catch Niko. He'd aim for the guy's junk soon enough: JJ didn't believe in fighting fair.
"You better get your scrawny ass back here or else I'm gonna end up fucking your cute little boy instead, and believe me when I say that the lack of lube ain't gonna be his biggest concern!"
