It was amazing how quickly conversations could spin on their head with Erika and Everett. One moment they could both be upset, now as far as he could tell, they were both relatively happy. Everett perhaps more so, and Erika perhaps scared for her own safety. Well he could blame her there.
Nodding along decisively with every word she said - as if he'd ever think to contend them - Everett finally grinned. "Then I'll meet you there." He agreed with the smallest of giggles. He was simply that giddy, and half terrified. Biting his lip to regain control of his facial features, Ever shook his head. "You're probably right." He admitted, half because...well she was right, and half because he craved the surprise like a recovering bulimic craved cake.
Tipping his head, Everett smiled. "Thank you for giving me a chance."

"Mmmmhmm," she chuckled. She wasn't quite sure what to think of it all, but she figured it was better not to question it and rather wait and see. After all, he did have some pretty crazy ideas; See drowning and lighting himself on fire; but he also had some brilliant ones, and well, she was still pining after him like never before, so she didn't think whatever it was he had planned would push her off her game -- or whatever people called it today.
Returning his smile, Erika chuckled, "You should know that it's a given by now." And it sort of was. No matter what, there was one thing she was sure of; She'd always give him the benefit of the doubt, and she would always give him another chance.
That was simply how this worked. And she kind of liked it like that. It kept things interesting.

It was nice to have Erika trust him with this. Ok, trust might now have been the right word, but he'd take what he could get in the benefit of the doubt here. "You know you shouldn't be so lenient with me," he scolded her lightly, tapping her nose with the tip of his finger. "One day I might really do something stupid, and that wouldn't be good." He quickly held up a finger to hold off any reassurances, just in case they were coming. "And we both know I can be a bit of a scatterbrain, so don't rule out the possibility."
Cracking his knuckles absently, Everett turned back to the counter. The cups went into the sink with a clatter, and he resolved to deal with them later. "Now, I need a shave and I think you need a bed. It's late." He stated the obvious with reluctance, then shrugged half-heartedly. "So what would you like to do?"

She opened her mouth to speak, but was quickly cut short. Instead, she furrowed her brows and pouted, as if disappointed that he knew her all too well. She wasn't really, but she couldn't resist. As he finished though, she saw her opening, "Scatterbrain, yes, and yes, you do tend to do a lot of stupid things, like swimming with whales and then almost drowning and lighting yourself on fire... But it's all part of the uh... Charm," she smirked. Wrinkling her nose at the top, she sighed. "No matter how hard you try, you know you're not going to change my mind."
If he hadn't managed to do that up until now, it was a lost cause. She was fairly sure he already knew that though.
She knew he was right, but she didn't want their evening to end quite so soon. Of course, she also knew that it was selfish of her to keep him hanging around like that, and that was the last thing she wanted. With a reluctant sigh, Erika shook her head, "Alright, alright," she muttered. Placing a hand on his shoulder, Erika leaned in to kiss the corner of his lips. Smiling, she looked at him, "That," she said, answering his question.
Stepping away, she started backing away towards the door. She picked up the list on her way and pressed it against her chest, "I don't know. The beard kind of suits you."

It was nice to hear Erika agreeing with him for a change, though her recalling his his numerous feats caused him to wince. He wasn't sure 'charm' was the right word to be using, but who was he to argue when the word was better than most?
It was hard to be the one to break away from Erika, especially after returning from so long apart. But he couldn't very well be the cause for an exhausted Headmistress, and he was almost positive she was working herself harder than necessary already. Still, Erika's obvious displeasure at having to leave filled him with warmth, and he almost reached out to hold her again. "You know I'm right." He felt the need to add, even after her agreement.
A slight smirk twisted his lips at the goodbye kiss, and again he was forced to fight the urge to follow after her. He found the fact that he could at all quite commendable.
Tilting his head, Ever rubbed at his chin self-consciously. "You think? I feel like a hillbilly." He admitted with a sigh.

Of course she knew he was right; That was exactly the part she hated the most about this. Well, after leaving him, anyways. That was obviously worse. With a childish pout, the brunette tilted her head to the side, "Even if I did - and I don't - I'd never admit to it." And then she realized she wasn't supposed to be the childish baby; He was. Ah well, guess he rubbed off on her, which really wasn't all that surprising. In fact, she actually quite enjoyed it.
"Well, yeah, you kind of look like one too," she laughed, "But it's a good look regardless." Then again, he'd probably look good wearing a plastic bag and god forbid, red cowboy boots. Again, something she would never, ever admit to and if she ever got the chance, she'd give him a few fashion tips. As much as she adored his lack of taste... It was just downright horrible.
Even though she had managed to get as far as taking a few steps away from him, walking further away was hard. Like, borderline of being impossible hard. She didn't want to leave, though, yes, he was right and it was getting rather late. And she'd rather not have him blame himself for her being tired, which she knew that he would. Smiling, the brunette simply shook her head.
