Humphries purred a little at Tam's reply, flicking his tail with amusement. Yes, he certainly believed he could get on with this woman, and not simply because her bosoms looked most enjoyable to relax upon. There were, after all, plenty of chesty women about, but there were fewer that were enjoyable conversation partners. He'd just have to work to make her feel more comfortable around him, treat him as more of a colleague then an enemy.
thank you he sent as Tam moved the desk, after making sure not to be anywhere near the vicinity, not wanting to make things difficult for the young woman. and i shall talk you if something happen he sent again.
As soon as the chair and desk were in position, Humphries moved, hopping up with all the feline grace he possessed. One hop, two, and he was soon moving to nestle into his bed. He purred as he pawed it, stretching his claws and digging into the fabric. For several long seconds, Humphries looked very much like a completely regular cat and, in fact, he did lose himself for a moment, allowing the feline instincts to rise to the surface.
The question seemed to draw him out of it, if slowly. He blinked, turning to look at Tam. When he sent the message again, it came out sluggish. good. sleepy now. most sorries. he curled up then, blinking and actually yawning, looking downright internet-worthy adorable.

The installation done, there really was only for her to wait for Humphries to get up there and determined if it was indeed a good spot. He would get the light if it was light he wanted. She’d personally prefer not to have the light hitting her face while trying to sleep but she clearly was not a cat and she’d seen them sleep in weirder places. She stared at Humphries as he settled in. She knew she should see him as a colleague but she couldn’t get past the fur and paws. Pet, colleague, colleague, pet, it was all very complicated. She figured she would get it at some point. She was generally able to get back on her feet pretty quickly but it might take her a moment before she could really be comfortable with this concept. That would be even more the case if she knew what he thought of her, or, to be exact, of her chest. He was not the first to think of them around here but he might just end up the fastest one to get to sleep on them.
As she stood there, she felt like a little girl waiting during the inspection to get the okay from her teacher. She didn’t really like that and tried her best to chase that thought away. Finally, another message showed up on her phone. It was weird to have a conversation this way but it wasn’t like she spoke cat or could read Humphries’ mind. “I see. Well, I’ll leave you then. I’ll keep the door slightly open so once you’re done you can just slip through and you shouldn’t be disturbed by us,” she said. That was so ridiculous he was a cat, cats can sleep through a thunderstorm, a shooting and probably even the end of the world. It was the fact she couldn’t quite tell when she should consider him a cat and when she should think of his as a colleague that acted on her. Besides, he didn't seem to care about her anymore. She simply slipped through the door and did as she said, leaving Humphries sleep.
Humphries kept purring, mostly unable to stop himself at this point. After all: he had a soft bed, warm sunshine, and a colleague who seemed to be willing to at least tolerate him. He truly felt quite pleased with himself. So pleased that he almost didn't catch Tam's final few lines.
The sleepy cat twisted and moved, sending a few last messages: thanks much again. door most pleased. only time i miss having hands. lol. He purred again and settled in, blinking a few times. The woman was already on the way out, which suited Humphries just fine. He happened to enjoy his bed almost as much as he enjoyed using a human being as a giant mattress (an experience that most people would, sadly, never get to truly experience). For now though, Humphries simply stretched out in the sunlight, enjoying himself tremendously as he let himself be, well, a cat.
