Feeling ready. Smiling at that, Franklin nodded, "Alright." Putting a hand on her shoulder, Franklin pushed it backwards until it disjointed. Rolling her shoulder, it popped back in position as she readied herself. She could feel her joints and muscles growing sore from the dancing, but part of her also loved it. The feeling you got after a long workout, when all your bodyparts felt as if they were about to fall off? She lived for it. It was oddly enough one of the best feelings in the world. Well, to Frankie anyways.
Again, the steps were repeated at a much faster pace this time around, just like she had shown Elsa before. At this rate, Frankie was going to exhaust herself before her daily workout routine was over. Sure, she was used to this, but she was also used to taking breaks in between, which she had yet to do. In theory, she didn't really mind, because right now, with everything going on, she surely needed the distraction. Anything to get rid of her demons, right?
Once the dance ended, Franklin lifted her hand to wipe her brows, "Wow," she laughed between breaths, "That was pretty great actually," she complimented the brunette. "You're doing pretty well for someone who claims to not have done this type of dancing before." Well, then again, dancing was dancing, regardless of type. You could never really unlearn it. You just had to remind your muscles that it was still there, hidden down below.

the moving shoulder nearly made Elsa wince. Were she someone else, she probably would've. Elsa Bellefonte, however, did not wince. She stared as the other girl did, figuring that might very well be the power at work. Though she certainly didn't think that having flexibility would be.... well, then again, she supposed it was better then some powers that existed. It certainly explained her smooth dance moves and what have you.
Ah, but Elsa needed to move. She followed as best she could, having a little difficulty keeping up. Some people had teased Elsa, saying that she spent more time behind a desk then actually moving. Still, her body had been trained to move like this, and she practiced just enough to keep it responsive to her demands. Moving, surrendering herself to the music, even if she did have to practically ride Frankie's mind, worked wonders for her. For a few moments, Elsa could nearly forget the whole stress of being her.
So Frankie wasn't the only one winded and "glistening" by the time the session had ended. Elsa licked her lips for a moment, wishing that she'd brought her water bottle out of her room. She laughed and waved a dismissive hand at Frankie's compliment. "I've danced, like I said. So it's still in my muscle memory," which was essentially what Frankie was thinking, though Elsa had truly brought it on her own. "Besides, I'd like to think that I'm quite talented at doing something when I put my mind to it," she flashed a smile at Frankie, nodded, then looked around. "now, you wouldn't happen to have a bottle of water laying around? I left mine in the other room."

"Yeah," Franklin nodded in agreement. The girl, the 'Princess' didn't seem nearly as bad as the rumors made her sound. It made Frankie a little sad, to see such a comfortable person to be around hashed around like some damn queen bitch when she in fact was quite the pleasant person to be around. Of course, it could simply be that Franklin had met the girl on an odd day, but somehow, she didn't really think that was the case. "Well, then your thinking has proved to be correct; I'm impressed," she said again and returned the smile. When Elsa asked for water, Franklin laughed and gestured towards her bag with her thumb before she started moving towards it, "It would be silly to go working out without one at hand," she said, more so to herself than to the other girl; She had actually done that once, and she had certainly learned to never do it again.
Kneeling down in front of the bag, Franklin reached out her hand to turn off the stereo before unzipping her bag. Digging through the contests, the brunette pursed her lips, "So, you're not interested in starting up again? The dancing I mean," she asked and looked at Elsa over her shoulder. "I think you'd enjoy it a lot. Of course, you don't have to pick this kind of dance, but if you ever do, I do have a dance group." She reached for the bottle and pushed herself up. Tossing the bottle over at Elsa, Frankie's hands went to her hips.
"We train a few times every week and often do live shows and stuff; Our favorite is flashmobs; You know, when random people on the street just suddenly start dancing? We've done quite a lot of that." And of course, the local gigs down at The Pulse was a thing too, but that didn't happen nearly as often.

Elsa nodded and headed toward the bag. She spent a few moments rummaging around, still listening as Frankie continued speaking. Yes, it would be silly, and Elsa was tempted to say so but held her tongue. No reason to be overly antagonistic to someone who had actually been helpful in relieving stress and all that good stuff. Elsa did feel decidedly more relaxed, so while she might not have engaged in the exact activity she wanted, she still got the same result.
And she happened to have learned a good deal more about one of the people supposedly working for her, not to mention having likely confirmed said person's talent.
"No," said Elsa, shaking her head. She waved a hand dismissively. "I've no real interest in picking it up again, to be honest. While it's a wonderful stress reliever, it's not really something I can dedicate my time too,' Elsa smiled wryly, "too many more important things to do, unfortunately," and she did realize, if slightly, that those words could be a slight to Frankie and what she did. Elsa didn't care. She simply took another pull.
"I'm glad that we have someone who's actually skilled teaching though," she said, pointing at Frankie before setting the bottle down. "I'd hate to think that we just hired someone out of some kind of affirmative action plan." She raised her brows as she calculatingly looked over Frankie. "I take it your power has something to do with your physical flexibility? Enhanced agility or superhuman reflexes, perhaps?"

Nodding, Franklin took no offense to what the brunette said. Why would she, anyways? Sure, Elsa might not think that dancing was important, but if Franklin reacted to it, and argued it, wasn't she just saying that dancing was more important than whatever Elsa spent her time doing? It was a thing that seemingly went both ways and rather than arguing it, she was going to agree and accept that people had different opinions. "Yeah," she said, "I can understand that. But at least you know the offer still stands if you ever do make time, or your interest for it grow." She wasn't going to push the subject though, especially as Elsa had already turned her down once.
She was thankful that the brunette had dedicated so much time as she had already. It was kind of cool, having someone who didn't 'belong' in her world take a step within it for a moment. It made her oddly happy.
"Well, I mainly teach music rather than just dancing," she shrugged, "Being a college student and all, it's... Harder to get a position as a teacher, and not being an assistant, you know? Music was the only position currently open, so." And then there was the whole ordeal about said teacher being her ex, and not only just a ex, but the ex. "But I sing too, so..." she chuckled. Nodding at Elsa's question, Franklin pursed her lips, "Disjointed flexibility. I can uh..." Maybe it was better to simply show her? Putting her hand on her shoulder, Franklin grimaced as she pushed it out of its joint, making it hang in a very unnatural kind of manner. "Like, uh, that," she chuckled awkwardly. "Makes it... Easier to make certain movements, ya know?"
Putting her hand back onto her shoulder, Franklin pushed her shoulder back into place. Rolling it, a loud pop was sound as she shrugged. It wasn't as painful as it could have been, mind, but she could still feel it. After a while, she kind of got used to the pain. When your body parts disjointed several times a day, it kind of... Became normal. In a way.

Elsa smiled slightly at the offer. There was a part of her that was tempted, seriously wanting to just take up something like dancing and forget about all her responsibilities and burdens. Hadn't that been the original plan? No, wait, not for her, for the others though... sometimes she really thought she should bring that up to Erika...
Though for now, she had to focus on the girl in front of her. Frankie didn't seem particularly perturbed or even slightly put out by the comments, especially the ones almost dismissing dancing. Easy to dismiss something that close to you, even if it did make you wonder. The girl was also demonstrating her ability, to which Elsa responded with a nod. It really did seem that people either picked a vocation that matched their abilities perfectly or veered as sharply away from it as they possibly could. Good thing that mutant powers didn't automatically mean you were set on a particular career path.
"Quite a useful ability, though I imagine that people aren't as impressed as they are with those that can fling fireballs and whatnot," she chuckled at that, dismissing it with that noise. Of course, her own ability was another that people so often thought about, so it was easy for her to say. "You do seem to have a knack for teaching though," she continued, nodding, "so if you'd like to sponsor a dance team or possibly hold some kind of private lessons, you certainly could. I'd make sure you had the backing," she smiled confidently at that. Wouldn't be the first time she'd positioned someone where they could potentially be of use to her.

Grinning, Franklin nodded. No, she had by far the most impressive ability in the book, but quite frankly, she didn't really mind. "Well, I'm honestly a little glad I can't fling fireballs," she said with a grimace. Imagine the potential harm that could have done, if she ever lost control. Now, the worst thing she could do was lock a join in an awkward position, and people would simply brush it off and rush you to see a doctor. She actually considered herself rather lucky powerwise. It was a pain in the ass, sure, but it could have been much, much worse.
Furrowing her brows, Franklin was caught by surprise by Elsa's next words. She certainly hadn't expected this to go down this way and... Well, she was glad it had. The surprise was obvious against her dark olive features, "Wow, really?" she asked, baffled. "That was... Easy," she laughed, almost awkwardly.
"I mean, that would be a dream come true, but... I mean, why?" Surely, this couldn't be because of her talent, as there was plenty of students within the school who could dance just like her, if not better. She was hardly a one of a kind. There had to be a catch, right? Or was this simply another scenario where Franklin ruined every chance she had simply because she lacked the confidence so many others carried themselves with?

Given some of the people Elsa had met who could fling fire, she couldn't blame Frankie for not wishing that on herself. She couldn't help but chuckle darkly, thinking of the times they'd had to send people into bedrooms to put out curtains or what have you. At worst, she just had to listen to people's thoughts...
... though that was actually more of a sobering thought, as there were times when even Elsa wished that she'd just had to deal with flaming curtains.
The conversation distracted her, though it did little to buoy her spirits back up. She nodded at the mention of it being easy, only to arch her brows as Frankie questioned that very ease. "Odd, most people don't stop to wonder about that. You've also clearly not heard the various rumors about me." She adjusted to face Frankie, looking at the other girl head on. "I quite frequently go around reading people, not just with my ability, but just in general. Everyone has a use and a purpose at this school after all, and I simply want to make sure to maximize that. You just demonstrated that you have the ability to instruct someone who's willing," Elsa gestured at the spot where they'd just danced. "That's enough to prove to me that you're actually skilled at this sort of thing. I'd rather have someone I've met and seen in action myself."
What Elsa didn't mention was the whole "everything came with a price" aspect. The more people who owed her favors, the better off her position was. Who knew when having a pretty little dance teacher in your pocket could be advantageous?

Listening to what Elsa has to say, Franklin had to admit that the more she talked, the more Franklin admired her. She was strong, she was independent and she wasn't afraid of saying things exactly the way they were. She might have been a little scary because of her direct way of handling things, but really, Franklin probably liked that the most about her. She wasn't jealous, mind, but she wouldn't mind watching and learning from the younger girl. She had a very confident way of carrying herself and people clearly didn't give her enough credit. It made her sad, because it was bound to tear on her confidence. That she managed to carry on so flawlessly was amazing.
"Thank you," she said honestly, "I'm honored." And grateful, but Elsa probably knew that already, she figured. Especially if she could read her mind. That also meant that Elsa had heard every gushing, embarrassing detail Franklin had just thought about her. Well, as embarrassing as it was, at least she know knew exactly where she had Frankie, and that was fine with her. She didn't like appearing as someone she wasn't anyways.
It was also kind of nice, having someone who could read your mind and know more or less, exactly what you mean.
"Well, this isn't at all how I expected my day to turn out," she laughed.

Honored? Elsa had to smile at that. Though she'd heard similar things said before. It never ceased to amuse her the affect she can have on people. Though she didn't quite pick up every detail, as she wasn't exactly digging too deeply into Frankie's mind. Elsa did have some limits, after all, even if she mostly just regally walked over them without thought or care to whomever's feeling's she hurt.
"I get that a lot, actually," replied Elsa, chuckling a little. She gestured toward Frankie, nodding. "Though I'm not hearing a confirmation in there. At least tell me that you'll think about it: you show talent, and this school," she gestured around her," is all about enhancing talent."
She ended with another of her satisfied smiles, the expression looking like a strange mix of a very proud mother and a predator who had just cornered her prey.

Nodding eagerly, Franklin clapped her hands together, "Oh, right. Shoot," she laughed, "I'm very interested. Very much so," she said, again, nodding. Heck, this was a dream coming true and all that. This was exactly what she had been working for for as long as she could remember and now the opportunity had just fallen into her lap.
Heck, dancing and teaching it was all she ever wanted to do. She'd jump at that so fast...
"Uhm, how, how do I go about that then?" she asked, furrowing her brows. Did she apply somewhere or just tell the girl she was in, or what? Was there a process, did she need to wait so-so long, or? Did this mean she had to stop taking her classes? Not that there was a whole lot of them with all the extra summer classes she had been taking, and considering how busy she had been her first year of college... And well, she didn't know nothing, but she was so damn excited... "Like, I'm interested-- I don't uh, really need to think about it."

Much interest, considering the repetition and all. Elsa raised a brow, slightly surprised at the girl's eagerness. Again, Elsa was reminded of her sister in several ways, though Frankie didn't seem to have suffered quite the same life events as Erika had.
"Well, there's a form on the faculty website... which you may not have access to," admitted Elsa. She tapped her finger to her lips for a moment. "I have my phone in my bag, I could pull it up... but if you want, just email me and I can send you the appropriate documentation," Elsa waved a hand. "The main thing is that you have to get approval by the Headmistress, and I can often push these things through. Though hopefully you've done enough outside of this," she gestured, "that I won't have to fight too hard."
Elsa smiled at Frankie, figuring that the answer would be a very quick "of course!" in some form or fashion.

"Email you," Franklin nodded, clapping her hands together, "Got it." Her email was on the school's website and all, right? Right. She hoped so, anyways. It felt kind of rude to ask, since it kind of sounded... Whatever, if she couldn't find it, she could always drop by her office or something. Quirking a brow at the comment about being approved by the headmistress, Franklin pursed her lips. Wasn't Elsa one of them? Wait, unless she meant she had to talk to her sister... Right, that made sense.
Puffing her cheeks, she had to admit she was extremely eager and excited for this opportunity. Man, this day had turned out to be quite a good one. With everything else roaming around, this was amazing. The opportunity was amazing. She couldn't believe she'd managed to...
"Thank you," she said quickly, "Really. It means a lot," she said sincerely, smiling at the other brunette. Reaching out her hand to properly shake Elsa's, Franklin's bemused grin only widened.

Elsa nodded as Frankie repeated the instruction, glad that the other girl seemed to be picking it up. Excitement and amazement made it a little difficult, obviously, but Frankie was picking up enough to at least follow along with the conversation. Elsa didn't have to be an empath to pick up on the very strong amount of excitement and happiness coming from the other girl; she didn't even have to read her mind.
"It's just a matter of rewarding the deserving," said Elsa, waving a hand airily. She soon took that hand to take Frankie's, giving it a few quick pumps. "Just make sure that you actually take advantage of the opportunity and don't disappoint. I might even look you up," Elsa smiled a little as she said that, before sighing and releasing the hand. She looked around for a moment, letting out another deep breath.
"Unfortunately, I have business to attend to. As much as I would most definitely rather work it out through dancing," Elsa looked for a while, seeming to consider before mumbling, "No, I don't have enough time any more." She gave Frankie one last look, smile, and raised a hand, "until later, then," before heading out of the room.
Post by Franklin Bishop on Oct 10, 2014 0:52:51 GMT -6
"Of course!" she beamed. No, she had skipped enough opportunities during her short life, and when it came to dancing... Well, it wasn't something she wanted to miss. It meant too much to her and she had worked too hard to get where she was now. She was definitely going to take Elsa up on the offer and at least try, even if it didn't work out in the end.
Nodding at the brunette, Frankie took a step back and looked at the music player over her shoulder. Unlike the brunette, Frankie was going to rid herself of the extra energy through dancing. "Alright. Thank you again." She smiled warmly at the other girl. "I won't disappoint you." She couldn't have found anyone more passionate about dancing, so there was that, and Franklin would be damned if she ended up disappointing someone over it now.
"I'll see you later." With that, Franklin turned her attention back towards the music.
