Sage smiled a bit giving the faintest of nods. He heard the .... uneasy? sound in her voice. He could understand, meeting new people were always rough. It was only the tree's complaining that he even got to meet the two twins.
He blushed though when she said she'd rather take more photos of him. Really? He was surprised, and embarrassed all at the same time. It was such a weird feeling. But he kept on a smile, "Well.. If you really want to..." he didn't have anywhere to be after all. It's not like he had homework needing done, he came out here when it was finished. Never before, or he'd never get it done.
He tilted his head slightly. Do stuff for him? "Well.. It happened once.." he stated softly... He'd been in a chair and tipped it to far back and a vine had grabbed it to stop him from falling, but he had no conscious awareness of him doing something... "I guess I could try.." he stated softly.
Sage looked at her for a moment, offering a smile, "What would you like me to try and make it do?" he asked before he looked to the vine, watching as it still hung there. Really the tree had moved it on it's own to drop onto his shoulder earlier, but it hadn't moved really since then. He was pretty sure he could make vines move, they were fairly mobile to start with, so it'd be a good start.

Zoe nodded at the really, nodded and smiled that reassuring smile of hers. She understood that sort of reservation: it came with a lot of her subjects, particularly the younger ones. Still, she'd meant every word, making it all the easier for him to nod.
So he could actually get the plants to move sometimes. He probably had some sort of control over them as well as communication; Zoe knew the two didn't always go hand in hand. She smiled that reassuring smile of hers, nodding and gesturing for him. Just as she started to raise the camera up to snap a few pictures, however, he asked his question.
The camera lowered. Zoe frowned for a moment, pursing her lips as she thought. "Could you get it to move into some sort of shape?" she asked, her gaze going to the vine for a moment. She swore she saw it twitch. "It doesn't have to be too stupendous," she continued, lowering to focus back on Sage again, "just, well, it would be rather more noticeable if it moved into something unique," she wanted to add a shrug or something, but ended up with that smile. She nodded, before raising her camera. "There's no rush either, really. I can wait for quite a while till you're ready," though Zoe knew that it could get quite discomforting being watched and expected to do something. she didn't think she really needed to say as much to Sage: he was likely going to feel that way regardless.

Sage gave the faintest of a nod looking bank to the vine. Right, make it move. He wasn't sure how easy this would be, or if he could even really do it. But he took a breath, and tried to concentrate. Really in the end he more so asked if it would move before it moved at all, but all it did was sway slightly, making a have circle movement before falling limp again.
Sage tried again, giving more attention to try and make the vine move again. It didn't seem to want to? Was that the problem here? He tried to concentrate harder, but his head started to feel like it was swimming. He didn't notice the nosebleed that started, but the vine did move again. Slowly forming a loop as the fine came back up to wrap around itself to hold the vague oval shape.
But it was barely another moment before he swayed a bit, his head hurt to much, and soon as he stopped concentrating on it, the vine let go of itself and dropped back down to its normal hanging position. Thankfully he was near enough to the tree that he set his hand against the trunk of it, finally noticing the wet, his other hand moved to wipe and he blinked staring at the blood. Oh jeeze.

As happened so often when she engaged in photography, Zoe's attention focused intently on the subject at hand. In this instance, that meant watching Sage's every move carefully. Zoe actually took a few shots of him looking at the vine and concentrating, hoping to create a photo story in some ways. He stood at an awkward stance at first, and Zoe didn't immediately notice the blood coming from his nose. She did notice the vine moving.
The moment it turned, she snapped. Zoe zoomed in, snagging the branch, zoomed out, getting Sage focusing, making sure what caused the strange occurrence was quite apparent to anyone who would look. The digital camera whirred nearly silently, capturing the moment in a series of shots, locking it away onto the memory.
As soon as Sage moved, however, Zoe noticed something else. She let out a gasp and moved forward. Her hands reached toward him for a moment before hesitating. She bit her lip, nerves twisting in her stomach for several painful seconds. "Are... are you alright? You didn't stress yourself or anything, did you? You.... you didn't need to..." and now Zoe felt a pang of guilt, that she had somehow caused this, caused someone pain once more. How typical of her.

Sage offered a faint nod, fishing out a napkin from his pocket, using it o wipe up, then press against the bleeding nose... 'I-its okay." he whispered softly. He hadn't known it would happen, he'd never pushed a plant like that before, he usually just talked to them, and grew a few flowers. He never tried something so hard before. But he smiled a bit looking to her, "Least I did it, right?" he asked smiling warmly.
Looking to the vine that now hung there still, he still smiled a bit. He did it. He really did make it move. He wasn't up to trying again today since his head hurt a bit, even the voices from the plants seemed to be softer right now, he could barely hear them. Did they know his head hurt, or was it because he was to worn out, he wasn't sure.
Turning his head to look at her, he offered a light smile, "Thanks to you... I know I need to practice this now." He smiled warmly, slowly pulling the napkin away from his nose, carefully doing a final wipe to not restart it. There, he was pretty sure it was done bleeding. He did feel like he wanted to go sleep though, he was worn out after that.

Zoe still couldn't help but feel distressed, seeing Sage's nose leaking like that. She kept wanting to wring her hands or pull out a tissue or something. Zoe just didn't carry such things around with her though, sadly. Sage did seem fine besides that, so maybe it was just a small side effect?
Zoe looked at the vine as Sage finished, nodding. "You most certainly did," she agreed, sounding as warm as she could manage. She smiled and tapped the camera, "And you looked quite splendid on film. I fancy it'll turn out to be a stunning picture," she said. She believed it too, and if not, she'd do what she could to make sure it was. That was one advantage of her tendency to add stuff to the pictures and whatnot: she could sometimes cover up flaws. She didn't think she'd have any with this one.
"I didn't mean for you to---" said Zoe. She paused, chewing her lip, shifting her feet, feeling incredibly guilty now. She leaned forward. "Are you sure there's nothing i can do to help? Um, my touch it, uh, I can, um, numb things. When I touch them. It's fairly slow, but it doesn't hurt or anything... that is, if you need it...?" had she mentioned her power? Zoe couldn't remember now, and she'd gotten too flustered, what with the blood and all.

Sage wasn't to sure if the photo would be as great as she felt it would be, but he offered a light smile, "The only thing that really hurts right now is my head, but a nap should cure that." he smiled gently as he looked back over to her, letting his gaze leave the vine, "I'm okay, honest! Don't worry." he still smiled gently, trying to reassure her. He didn't want her to feel bad over what happened, he didn't even know it would of happened. It was his first time really trying to move a plant. He hoped with time it would get easier and he wouldn't get nose bleeds. He hoped it'd been a one time thing, but knowing his luck it wasn't, he was quite the unlucky fellow.
He moved, slowly letting his hand lift off the tree base, feeling a little less light headed now. He slowly stepped closer to the vine, letting a hand gently touch it as he smiled softly, at least the tree hadn't minded moving around like that for him, it had actually enjoyed it, so he was glad.

Just a head, and a nap. Okay, so that was okay then. Zoe still felt her hands clench and release, feeling like she should try something. It was technically her fault. But, well, she hadn't exactly forced him to participate or anything like that. He also didn't seem particularly put out.
"Well, if you're sure, but if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask," said Zoe. She nodded slowly, then watched as he move off the tree, going to the vine. She waited for a few moments before thinking that this would make another excellent picture. The camera rose to her hands without another thought, as soon Zoe arranged the photograph and snapped it.
"You do seem quite comfortable around the plants," she commented, nodding. "I suppose that's because of your power? Or, oh, did you like nature beforehand? I mean, I loved photography and all before..." she fidgeted again, chewing her lip a little, worried that she'd stepped over some kind of line.

Sage looked over hearing another snap and he blushed a bit, "Well.. I uhm.." he rubbed the back of his head a little, "I guess I've always liked plants. I spent most of my time alone in my back yard with them than I did with anyone else." he stated softly, looking to the vine for a moment, before turning to look at her smiling softly, "You liked photography for a long time huh?" he smiled gently, "It's probably why you're really good, most pictures I've ever taken are blurry or splotched from me unable to hold still to take it." he could hold still for hours, tell him to take a photo and suddenly he was a trembling fool who couldn't steady the camera.
He yawned lightly, a hand moving to cover his mouth as he did so. Ugh, he felt really tired. Whether it was from his day of classes, or from moving the vine he wasn't sure, but he knew he did want that aforementioned nap. No matter, he looked to her and smiled softly.. "So.. uhm... What made you like photography, if you don't mind my asking that is.."

Liked plants before hand? Zoe was tempted to comment on how nice that must be, to get a power that was related to her interests. All her power ever did was cause other people harm, drive them away. Thankfully though, she did have photography: that had never left her.
"Yes, for quite some time now," she agreed, nodding. "It's always been interesting to me, but, well, I've been taking pictures and what have you for, oh, I don't know, a few years now," she shrugged. Zoe never really put a date on when it had started. She couldn't remember a time in high school when she hadn't had a camera of some kind, but, well, who knows what happened?
The next question did seem to run right along with that, though Zoe had to pause. "Well, it's just... life is made up of all these fleeting moments," she said, lowering her hand and spreading her fingers. "Photographs stop those moments in time, freeze them. And, well, I can also add to them, as though I'm layering something atop the moment..." she paused, shifting nervously. "Sorry, that probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense..."
Post by Sage Amberlyne on Oct 6, 2014 15:13:26 GMT -6
Sage smiled, "It does make sense.." Sage tilted his head, "Well, mostly.." he smiled still, "I mean... To take a moment to add flare to it, sounds kinda fun." he smiled laughing a bit, his head still ached but at least it wasn't as bad as it had been, he still felt like he needed a nap though.
He turned his head blinking a few times as he listened. But it wasn't long until they were done and he was looking back to her... "So... uhm.." he rubbed the back of his head a bit nervously. He wasn't sure what to do now. He didn't want to keep badgering her about her gift with a camera and make her upset.. But he had to admit he was kind of curious, so... "Do you have, somewhere you keep all your photos?" he asked gently, a bit sheepishly. He was trying to ask if he could look through them some time, but he didn't have the will power to out-right ask.

Zoe laughed a little at mostly, though she tried to cover it with a raised hand to her mouth. It still showed in her eyes, the browns almost seeming to sparkle for a few moments. Zoe nearly forgot about Sage's exhaustion, but she swore she saw him blinking and seeming a little otu of it.
"Well, yes, I have several albums and collages," replied Zoe. "A few are set up special, done in particular order and all. I've even had some submitted to various local shows. Though most of the photographs are just shoved in boxes and whatnot," Zoe laughed a little at that before nodding. "I'd be more than happy to show you sometime, if you'd like. It's only fair, since I showed you some and all."
Though Zoe paused, looking toward the sky for a moment. "We might need to head back to the school now though. You do seem like you could do with a lie down."

Sage smiled softly, "It'd be great if you didn't mind showing me all of your pieces." he smiled warmly still. But when she glanced skyward and mentioned him getting sleep he couldn't help but smile a bit and give a faint nod, "yea.." he admitted sheepishly. He was tired and did want to go lay down. It was getting kinda late after all wasn't it? He wasn't sure his vision seemed dark at least, so he was pretty sure it was getting dark. He moved, turning some, he felt off balance and he had to stop a hand moving to rub his forehead. His head was starting up that fierce pounding again. Perhaps he should of gone to lay down a lot sooner. He didn't want to worry her, but he decided to be honest, eyes closed as his hand covered them.. "I... don't think I'll make it back.." he admitted finally. He really didn't feel good. His vision was not only getting dark, but what little he could see was getting really blurry. He didn't know he was seconds away from passing out.

"I will," promised Zoe warmly, nodding ever so slightly. She was about to continue, but it seemed as though what she'd dreaded would happen was unfolding before her eyes. She saw the balance, recognized the signs of side effects. She had, after all been at the Academy for some time. Not only that, but she'd been photographing mutants frequently enough.
So there was the initial panic as Sage wobbled, rising up and twisting Zoe's insides, but she fought it down. He didn't need her to panic: he needed her to be calm, cool, collected. So Zoe nodded. "It's--it's fine,' she said, her voice only warbling slightly. "Just go a ahead and relax, I'll make sure you get to the infirmary," her hand was already digging into the pocket of her skirt, reaching her phone and getting ready to punch the number. At the same time, Zoe moved forward, ready to catch Sage, or at least make sure he didn't hurt himself when he collapsed.
"Just.... just try to lie down," said Zoe gesturing and nodding. Her fingers were already punching in the speed-dials.

Sage smiled weakly when she promised she'd show him. He'd like that. He was honestly looking a bit forward to it. But right now his body wanted none of that. He slowly nodded at her words, soon his shoulder was pressed heavily against the tree to keep from falling over.. Right... he was suppose to try and lie down. Although he'd never been to their infirmary, but hey, first time for everything right?
He slowly moved to kneel on the ground by the tree, at least he didn't fall down completely but it was just moments after his knees hit the ground did he loose the battle with keeping consciousness, he blacked out as he fell forward the rest of the way on to the ground.
At least with being out cold, his head wasn't currently bothering him anymore, or possibly it was just that he could no longer feel it bothering him...
[Feel free to ff to being at the infirmary my next post I can have him wake up there =3 ]
