Demi had already decided that she hated groups. To be super specific, she hated groups of the people who went to school here. They were stupid on a one on one basis, and that just got worse whenever you broadened things out. There was just a small problem with that: it meant missing lunch times. Now that everyone had gotten back from camping trips and other stuff (and Demi was so on watch after the camping trip because people were stupid) there were more people then ever.
Which meant that Demi had to raid the cafeteria when people weren't around. Such as now.
The only problem was that Demi wasn't exactly brilliant at scavenging for food in an environment like this. She walked across the floor, scowling at pretty well everything. "Where's the food?" she demanded of the air, her head swiveling about as she looked. What Demi really wanted was some meat or something; she'd even cook it herself if she had to.
Instead, she found what appeared to be a small locked cabinet. Being Demi, she did the logical thing: she began beating on the lock while growling under her breath, sounding and looking pretty much like a feral child that had just been brought from her family of wolves and dumped in the Academy.

So people okay not not just people the staff always tried to tell her this place would work out if she gave it that little chance, and opened her mind to it instead of just pushing every one away and doing her own thing. Well maybe that was true but she doubted it and was not about to just give in and be the good girl they wanted her to be, oh heck no that was not going to happen. All the little speeches did was make her all the more willing to do the opposite. This place was filled with people who where idiots and not worth her time. Some moved in huge groups and talked all like they where special and others spoke in ways she just did not understand.
Today was one of those days she was just not in the mood to be bugged by the idiotic methods of the students here, yes every one of them was a idiot to her. Well at least the ones she had seen and met. Earlier on in the day one of the males thought it would be smart to push her buttons and try and seduce her with what he thought was game. Yeah well that did not work out well because he came a little to close and before he knew it was laying on the ground with a pool of blood spouting from his nose. And she was laughing at him as she walked away.
Yeah maybe her way of handling things was not good but then again who cared, but right now with every one coming back she was avoiding the places where students packed into the most. Sadly the cafeteria was one of those places. So she needed to come here when no one was around and scavenge for some food. Not like it would be anything new for her after all.
Finding her way to the kitchen she stopped and stared at the other girl who was beating on the lock to a huge locked pantry like thing. This was funny, and actually made her smile which was actually getting pretty rare to see now. The girl looked around the same age, and actually seemed a lot more like herself then she would expect any one here to.
"Yeah you wont get anything from in there but some veggies.. Got to go to the big fridge in the back for the good stuff."
Shrugging she walked past the other girl and made her way a little further until pulling open the massive door that lead to a walk in fridge. The place was pretty well stocked and all kinds of good meats hung on the walls. Yup this was the place to go when you where hungry, or where refused to be allowed to leave the schools courtyard because they knew you would run away otherwise..

Upon hearing the voice, Demi whirled, moving in an almost too smooth motion. Dust and dirt went with her, not only in a sort of cloud that would make sense, but in a stream that matched her movements almost too well. She brought her hands up, yanking said dirt and such up to her palms, where it held in little spiraling orbs. Blinking, Demi looked over the other girl.
"What?" was the super intelligent thing that came out of her mouth first. she looked over her shoulder, back toward the main kitchen and in the general direction indicated by the other girl. That look only lasted a few moments though, before Demi's attention focused sharply on the girl who spoke. There was something about the girl that struck Demi as... off. She just didn't look quite like the idiots around here. It reminded her of Aurora, sort of... only not quite?
"Who are you?" she demanded. She drew herself up, which probably would've been more impressive if she hadn't been a fairly little girl. Still, she was a little girl who had dirt and dust swirling tight about her and took something very much akin with to a martial arts stance... most likely because it was. Those hard eyes had locked on the other girl too, reading her every move...

She smirked at the other girls actions, this place never stopped amazing her, taking her in she learned what she was doing quickly. The dust and dirt moved around her in such a unique way that it made perfect sense. When is came to book smarts Chloe was not the best person to go to, but common sense that was different, and this was not a hard guess to figure out. Turning her head towards the girl she just shrugged and gave a coy little smile. It was no doubt Chloe was not intimidated by any actions being made by Demi.
"Are you going to huff and puff, and make a mess with your dirt or come find some food? "
Smirking a little she offered Demi a little shrug and turned away from her and headed into the now opened fridge. Her eyes trailing along the shelves and walls to figure out what she wanted. Her nose picked up on the smell of all the meat and caused her stomach to give a soft rumble. Yup it was for sure past time to eat something after all she had not hunted in a long time and the entire idea of always eating pre-cooked processed foods was still gross in her own opinion. But when you where under lock and key not allowed to leave the main area around the school a nice hunt was out of the question.
"An If you must know I'm Chloe not that it really makes any difference, don't get yourself all worked up little girl.. we are here for the same thing."
Chloe was maybe a few inches taller then Demi, but was a little more developed in most area's girls where noticed for. So her words where meant to be as cold as they sounded. She was not here though for a fight nor did she care for one right now. But she did want some food.

Ugh, Demi hated it when people talked to her like that. At the same time, the girl did mention getting food and, well, Demi's stomach practically growled at the thought of it. Plus, the girl wasn't, like, lecturing Demi or anything. That and Demi was still pretty sure she could take her if she needed to, though the clean kitchen wasn't going to give her a whole lot to work with.
So Demi smoothly lowered her guard and followed the other girl, though she kept as alert as she could manage, her eyes flicking about to take in each and every detail around her. They went back to the girl as she finished talking.
"I'm not a little girl," said Demi. Yeah, she did notice that some girls were more developed then she was, especially since Demi looked about three years younger than she actually was. Demi just flat out didn't care: she could still kick their asses. Heck, she'd kicked the butts of girls who had several years of training and experience on her already. So it was with great confidence that she strode forward, looking around. "So where's the food supposed to be? You said something about a fridge?" And Demi tried to remember what exactly that was... an icebox, right? So... she looked to the back, smiling as her eyes landed on it.

"Sorry didn't mean to offend, your just small so figured.. yeah my person skills lack sorry.. any way its in here, Id suggest a grab an go, doubt the staff would be fond of finding us in here, and with my track record doubt you want to be seen around me."
She wasnt trying to sound cocky or anything just honest. That was something she often did, she was actually very blunt and honest with people, she had not yet figured out the entire keeping things to her self and the basics of communication with others yet. So at times things she said where a bit rough and not so polite. Plus this girl was just as weird by the way she acted, it actually intrigued Chloe a good deal this girl did not seem as stupid and sloppy as other students.
"You dont seem as stupid as the others here.. Then again that wont take much I figure."
She was being honest with her, but other wise she just was wanting food and her stomach was grumbling and she was ready for some food. With a smile she reached to one of the shelves, and grabbed a rather large slab of meat and walked out of the small room.

Demi snorted as the girl continued. Yeah, her people skills definitely sucked. The last bit actually had Demi looking though, slightly curious. "You should be more worried about being seen with me," she replied, unable to sound like she wasn't bragging about it. "They've got people watching for me all the time and all kinds of stuff."
Because Demi was all kinds of badass, obviously. She walked toward the fridge, still eying it. It looked more or less like the iceboxes she was used to back home, though she was betting that this one didn't rely on cyrokinetics to freeze it regularly. Which, in Demi's opinion, was just yet another way the school was stupid.
Speaking of: Demi turned back to the girl again. "That's because most of the people here are morons," she replied, snorting. She turned back to the fridge again. Demi took a step forward, tapping it with a hand, trying to remember how the ice boxes back home worked. She'd never been a cyrokinetic or anything, so it wasn't like she'd been around them. They'd always had the food around and stuff, and even when she'd been assigned prep duty, someone else had always gotten it out of the ice boxes...

She could not help but let a soft smile escape her mouth. It actually almost knocked her to the floor. The idea two people who where watched by every staff member where in the same room doing the same thing at the same time, was more then ironic. To her this was just great it showed how the real world worked its magic on people. Maybe she did not understand science an math and all those fancy classes that she just had no interest in, but she at least knew that the world worked in a great way when you let it.
"Haha your saying two of the schools two most watched are ransacking a fridge in the middle of the night ? Great this is kinds of trouble.. hmmm could be entertaining actually.. Which reminds me.."
Kneeling down by the door she pulled a few items from her pocket and then with some tape and wire and other little bags of powder placed a ball against the door and attached a long string to the handle.Yes she was really going to dust the room out with itch powder just because she wanted to. She loved doing pranks and being the mischief maker.
"Well im glad at least to know now not every person here is an annoying twit, that would just as well make a night snack for me rather then be worth the time of day.."
She really needed to work on her outlook towards people, her feral side was far more dominate then her human side though, and she had no care int he world to change it. In fact she was rather fond of the way she was, and was not about to change her views for a place who thought it was right to take her from her home and place her in this prison box of a school.
"So does this place make you feel like your in prison as well? They forced me to come here, and when I tried to leave just brought me back and now watch me all the time to make sure I dont do it again.. Stupid school and its rules, should be Bellefonte asylum for mutants.."
Post by Demi Smith on Sept 15, 2014 20:08:59 GMT -6
Demi actually let out an ironic chuckle at that. Though she wasn't sure that they really counted as the two most watched: she'd heard rumors about someone needing constant bodyguards and someone else who was super emotional and dangerous. Then there was the whole cat issue, if that was even for real. Demi didn't bother to say anything until she saw the girl setting something up.
"What are you doing?" she asked, following the wire and powder. It looked like some kind of trap? "That's too high up if you want to make a trip wire..." said Demi, pointing. She was likely to continue except the girl offered a question instead, which had Demi pulling up short.
"Yeah, that's pretty much how it is," she agreed, sighing and crossing her arms over her chest. "They dragged me away from my people," only partially true, as Demi's people had given her over semi-willingly and all, "and they won't let me leave. I'm actually not supposed to leave the campus or something. I just built a tunnel," she shrugged, like it wasn't that big of a deal. The tunnel wasn't actually completed or anything. It was, in fact, more of a hole at this point then an actual tunnel. but Demi could be patient. wasn't like they were letting them go anywhere...
Post by Chloe Rin on Sept 15, 2014 21:06:42 GMT -6
She turned and sat down and looked at Demi, this was actually kind of interesting, she really had not thought much about the idea others where forced to be here as well. Maybe she could build an clan of angry mutants and take the school over and escape.. yeah that sounded great except most likely they would all just be punished and who knows what else. But one could dream after all right?
One thing was for sure though Chloe was actually enjoying for the first time ever talking to an actual person. Something she really never bothered with or anything like that. So this was a bit new to her and as much as she was mad with the idea of accepting it had to believe this was actually some what nice.
"Yeah..I was taking from my home, When I tried to fight back Was knocked out and awoke here. Tried to escape and well as you can guess was caught and dragged back here.. So guess im not the only one not allowed to go beyond the courtyard.. "
Finishing now tweeking the little piece of wire she placed it along the base of the door, and then attached it to both sides, making it at ankle height and almost perfectly invisible. Yes she was enjoying making her traps, though they never where made to hurt people, they still always scared people enough that she had been sent to see the old man a few times about it. But that never bugged her.
Post by Demi Smith on Sept 16, 2014 19:12:21 GMT -6
Demi kept following the trap with her eyes, trying to figure it out. She didn't really disapprove of setting traps for the idiots here or anything; it was more that you didn't trap near your food source. The story the girl told did sound really familiar though.
"I can go further than that," she said, looking up at the girl. "'cuz I've been to, like, the arena and sometimes into the woods. Plus, they've only got like, one person that can really stop me. Well, two if you count Mr. Konrad, but he's actually pretty cool," Demi shrugged. What she didn't add was that the last time she'd really talked to Mr. Konrad she'd wound up flat on her back and bruised for several days. For Demi, that was actually a good thing.
She turned back to the fridge, stepped to it, and placed a hand on the handle. She pulled. Nothing happened. So she pulled again. Then again. Then she growled and glared at the device, her hands clenching into fists, dust and dirt starting to roll toward them, obviously poised to attack.

"Thats good, least their may be some nice people here then.. I just avoid every one.."
It was the truth she really had not giving any of the people a chance at all, it just was weird for her. And she doubted she could relate with very many people so staying alone here seemed to be her best bet. After all how many others in this place where born and abandoned at a young age, and where forced to be raised alone in the forest? Yeah not many if any at all. Not like it was so normal to hear about or even very likely to happen.
She took notice to Demi's issue with the fridge, and blinked a few times. Hmm.. this might be bad where they locked in? That would be fun to explain to people, oh you know we broke in cause we where hungry. Yup that was going to go over real well with the staff. Standing up she walked behind Demi and stared a bit.
"Are we locked in?"
Yeah she had to ask, why not? And plus the entire dust thing Demi was making was pretty cool, this girl had a pretty cool power, though Chloe still was not overly sure what she did, her best guess was some kind of kinisis based power or something. But figured it would be rude to ask, then again maybe it wouldn't.
"So um.. what is your power? I can turn into a wolf.. not very special really or useful for many things.."
Figure if your going to ask a question like that you might as well explain your own power as well. Plus was not like they had much else to do, unless Demi could break this door down, which shockingly did not seem so impossible. The girl seemed to have some built up rage and the power to back it up.
Post by Demi Smith on Sept 16, 2014 19:32:59 GMT -6
"Not many," replied Demi, looking over her shoulder, "and Mr. Konrad's cool.. he's not really nice," Demi again wondered if she should mention the whole fighting and beatdown she'd received and all that. The other girl would probably get it; she seemed like the kind to understand how that sort of thing worked. But there were more important things to focus on for the moment, so Demi did just that.
Locked? "I don't see a lock," said Demi. She released the handle and moved around, studying the fridge. "Nope, no lock. So it's probably--" she stopped, realizing that the other girl had mentioned powers. Demi blinked, wondering how the other girl hadn't all but guessed. "I'm an earth-bender, well, a terrakinetic or whatever," she shrugged, then rolled a hand forward. The dust and dirt that added another layer to Demi's skin rolled with the gesture, forming a little wave the flowed and then settled right back onto Demi's skin.
"I'm Demi, by the way," she said, lowering the arm. "Technically Demeter of the Inherited, but everyone here calls me Demi Smith," she shrugged, then looked back at the fridge. "I could try and bust it open, but it might just be stupid..." she said, studying it and tapping it with her hand. If it didn't open soon, or the other girl didn't come up with some way of opening it, then Demi was definitely gonna bust it. A few slams of dirt should work. Or maybe she could attack the hinges...
Post by Chloe Rin on Sept 16, 2014 19:42:29 GMT -6
So then Demi could control Dirt, well earth in general, that was pretty awesome, did not seem to be something she would want to mess with though, she was pretty happy with her simple power, it was not as complicated. And really even if it was not as strong or neat as some others was still rather fun. But right now was not the time to sit and think about powers, heck no they where locked inside a room that was going to reach thirty degree's or so, yeah that was not a good thing in her mind, well okay she would be fine after all she could shift and have fur to keep her warm and safe from the cold but Demi was not so lucky in that sense.
"I think it automatically locks after a set time.. or when it closes so it seals off... Im not really sure though.. and it is also nice to meet you Demeter of the inherited"
She was not sure what the inherited was but figured it sounded pretty neat and preferred the way it sounded. Stepping forwards she took a firm grip on the handle and gave a quick yank, and looked around for a moment. Then decided they where not going to just be able to open it while locked inside. Yeah it was one of those stupid things people did not think about, no wonder why people died all the time with things like this.
"I think your up.. not really much I can do to help in this situation.. Im more better for survival things not breaking doors down.."
At least she admitted her weaknesses, right? that had to count for something...and this would be a great discussion for the next staff talk, when they said she needed to be social and meet people, least now she could say she talked and held a conversation with another student for a while. heck she even could say spent time with them and it would be true.
Oh how Chloe's mind worked was strange, even now with being locked in a room that was getting colder and colder she still found some means of a good snug smile from it, maybe she really was not so normal but who cared right?
Post by Demi Smith on Sept 16, 2014 19:49:17 GMT -6
"It's Demi," reiterated Demi, her voice slightly sharp. She rolled her shoulders again, letting a bit of the dust and dirt rolling. It wasn't like there was any particular rush or anything: they were still in the kitchen and facing the big fridges and stuff that the girl had pointed out. Nothing would happen if they'd fail, except maybe that they'd mess up something. The other girl hadn't managed to get anything to move or anything, so that left Demi to break into the fridge on her own.
Demi licked her lips, studying it. She supposed she should be thinking all smart and leaking dust into joints or something. But Demi had never really been one to think all that cleverly, not when she could literally blast something. So instead she took a few steps back. Demi took a deep breath, closing her eyes. She rolled her shoulders, then extended the motion, moving her whole body fluidly. The fluid movement made her entire body loose, almost rippling like it had become the very stuff she bent or whatever. Said stuff rippled as well, matching her movements almost too well. Soon Demi began moving her arms in intricate patterns, gathering her layer of dust and dirt. As it pulled away, it revealed the white skin beneath it. Not that Demi minded: she could just pick up her protective layer on another trip outside.
Instead, she began rolling her shoulders, pushing and pulling till she'd gathered a significant portion of the dirt and dust in her hands. Then she opened her eyes and rolled, flipping, eventually slamming the gathered stuff directly into the handle. As expected, it bent. Nothing extreme: Demi had just used dirt and dust after all, but the door soon squeaked open, revealing food. A smirking Demi rolled her shoulders again, looking over her shoulder at the other girl, confidence radiating from her.
