You know, it never seized to amaze her just how much of a gentleman Beau was. Not once has she seen him act anything but like this and it made her wonder if he was like that when he and Liz was around too, or if things were at least a little bit different. She couldn't picture him without his Southern charm, though. It was kind of part of him as Elsa was part of her. "Was your dad a gentleman too?" Erika asked; If so, that surely would explain quite a lot. She knew next to nothing about Beau's family and if he cared to share, she'd love to listen.
"That makes me happy to hear," she said honestly. "And yeah, you're one of those couples that would simply break logic if you ever ended up not being together. You guys sure took your sweet time," she almost scolded him. "I was about to start collecting bets about how many years it would take you guys," she laughed. She did however wonder when they started being a couple rather than having everyone simply view them as one. That was kind of the thing with Beau and Liz though; Despite not dating until just recently, they had always been the IT couple. Always.
Looking back at Beau, Erika shook her head, "You go bring that to Liz and make her happy, and that's all the thank you I need," she smiled. Really though, Erika was glad her friend had found herself such a nice guy to be with. If anyone deserved it, it was Liz. The girl was a walking, talking angel, and although being a little spacy and sometimes loopy (see; crazy), she was just wonderful altogether.

"Only sometimes," replied Beau, chuckling. His father would probably have slugged him in the arm for that, though he'd also have laughed and admitted that it was most definitely true. The head of the family went through a wild phase, after all, though he'd mellowed considerably in the last few years. that more mellow personality is what rubbed off on his sons, particularly Beau, the youngest of the bunch.
Who ended up laughing at a very familiar song. "Yeah, I guess everyone figured it out but us," he admitted. He shook his head, clicked his tongue a few times. "'course, that's all in the past, an' we're definitely lookin' more to the future," he gestured with the toy, having it point in the right direction. He set the arm down to the side before facing Erika as she continued.
"Now you're jus' bein' too nice. You ain't gotta worry 'bout that," he winked. "Seriously, least you can do is let me buy you a drink or somethin'," he reached out and circled his arm around Erika's. "I insist," He said, nodding. He began directing her toward the various concessions set up. "You don't want Liz to whup me later for lettin' one of her best friends help me out an' not payin' her back? Have you been hit by the girl?" his eyes widened for a bit before he chuckled.

"That's true," she nodded, "And probably for the best as well. What matters is that you reached the destination in the end, and how you got there kind of fades in comparison." Either way, she was happy for them and she was glad that Liz was in such good hands. Liz was her best friend - one of them - and Erika wanted the blonde to have the best of lives and she truly did believe that Beau was the right person for her to make that happen. So of course, Erika supported them and their relationship as best as she could.
She should have known that trying to deny any of Beau's requests would eventually end with him winning. Sighing, the brunette shook her head, "Alright, alright," she finally said and chuckled, "God, you're as stubborn as your girlfriend," she complained with a pout. Ah well, he did however make a very good point about Liz, and she'd hate to see the tiny blonde terrorize him because she was too proud. "I have not, no," she shook her head, "But you know, cute girl and all," she gestured towards herself with a wide grin.
"Alright, Captain," she said, almost beaming a little, "Where are we headed next, since I'm so painfully obvious to the fact that in this friendship, I ain't wearing the pants."

Beau had to end up nodding there. He wasn't sure he fully agreed, since he definitely thought that the journey was where most of the fun happened, but what mattered now was where they were, not so much how they got there. That bit could fall into place later. Plus, like Erika, Beau just wanted Liz to be the happiest version of Liz that she could be.
"Nah, she's worse,' replied Beau offhand. "an' jus' give her time: she'll hit you for somethin'. Or maybe it's jus' me she saves all the hittin' for," Beau chuckled at that. He was pretty sure he'd seen Liz beating up a few people here and there: she had some fire in her belly (one of about a million things that he loved about her, were he being honest and all).
"Which reminds me, if yer lookin' for my pants, you'd have to ask Liz," drawled Beau. He winked at Erika and then gestured, "we're headin' this way. If you ain't bein' particular, I'm gonna end up torturin' you with deep fried, bacon wrapped, chocolate dipped Twinkies. There's also some awesome frozen lemonade that you can get some stuff swirled in if you like," said Beau, nodding in the right directions. He happened to know what most of the food was like because, well, he dated Liz.

"I wouldn't be surprised," Erika laughed, though, couldn't really picture her adorable little blonde causing anymore harm. Then again, she was also oh so very, very biased because again, best friends since forever, and all that. But, she couldn't argue it either, because she wasn't on Beau's side of the relationship and well, people often acted different with their significant other than what they did with friends. Which was a given, as it wasn't exactly normal to go around kissing, having sex with or whatever else one did in a relationship with other people. Cough.
Laughing at that, it was actually something she could see. Liz wearing the pants and all. Beau seemed to be the kind of guy acted like more as the supporting role in a relationship. Not really a doormat, but still. "I'll keep that in mind." Following after Beau without as much as a complaint, Erika grinned, "Well, doesn't that just sound delicious." Really, Erika wasn't one who cared much for what she ate; As long as it tasted good, anyways, so that was naturally a mutual passion between her and Liz.
"Lead the way, Sir Knight," she teased him with a smile. She trusted Beau's decisions, anyways. As had been mention oh so many times already; He was dating Liz, after all.

"Makes buyin' things difficult," drawled Beau, "on account o' her havin' the wallet an' all," though Beau of course had his on him, loaded, as it always seemed to be, with enough ones to make people think the handsome Southern boy did some more entertaining dancing on his weekends instead.
"When we all get to heaven, God's gonna be servin' those up," said Beau, nodding gravely. He was already directing them that way, as Erika had now forsaken any right to complain or argue to the contrary. If she hadn't wanted to enjoy the delights of bizarre fair food, she should have said so. After all, "Sir Knight" would've said something.
"Don't know if I should be too happy 'bout all that knight stuff. Always figured I'd get cowboy first, though I don't exactly go 'round ridin' horses an' all... well,' Beau chuckled, "there was that one time. Wanted to get familiar, in case Liz wanted to go ridin' or somethin'. She ain't brought it up yet. It's this way, the food from heaven, that is."
Beau pointed and directed them forward and slightly off, heading for the deep fried paradise that lay in wait.

"Well," Erika drawled, "At least you have a beautiful sugar momma who adores you," she winked at him. No, Erika was a little envious of their relationship. They fit so well together, like an oiled machine. She wanted a relationship like that too, and albeit she and Trevor did have an amazing relationship together, it wasn't the fairy tale kind of love. They weren't soul mates. Of course, Erika also knew there was no such thing.
Smiling at Beau, Erika nodded, "Well, I trust your judgement, and if they're really good enough to be served by God himself, then I'm in."
Listening intently to what Beau said, again, Erika found herself unable to keep the smile off of her face. It was so freaking adorable how Beau and Liz kept gushing on and on about each other and their admiration was clear for anyone to see. "Cowboy, huh?" she asked, nodding, "I suppose I could see that, but you're quite the romantic guy, so I think a knight is more fitting." Because who didn't like a dashing knight in shining armor? "How did the riding class go?" Erika didn't really go along with animals. They made her feel awkward and she didn't know what to do with them. Mostly because growing up, they had never had any pets, and being so focused on school and a social life, Erika had never really interacted with animals much.
Following Beau without as much as a word in complaint, Erika chuckled, "I'm gonna hold it against you if this food prove to be horrible," she warned him with a playful smirk.

"Alright then,' said Beau, both in agreement with the comments regarding his sugar mamma (which he would most certainly have to call Liz at some point) and the one involving what God was serving at His table. Beau definitely believed he'd be feasting there some day, hopefully with family and friends and Elvis playing entertainment (though Beau might get a turn or two(.
For now, he had to deal with the whole knight comparison. Beau knew better than to argue overmuch, particularly with a pretty girl. Erika might've called Beau and Liz stubborn, bu the girl could prove about as immobile herself at times. Naturally Beau kept such comments to himself, nodding along till a question popped up: "Kinda awkward, but I've been on a horse afore, so it weren't too surprisin'," he said, adding a slight shrug.
They'd gotten more or less in line, and yes, there was a halfway decent line of people, mostly those wondering if deep-fried Twinkies really existed and what one had to look like. "Don't reckon that's all that fair," drawled Beau, smiling nonetheless, "considerin' that I gave you a choice an' all. Yer the one who wanted to play dangerously."

Laughing, Erika could definitely picture that; Beau awkwardly trying to ride a horse. Of course, as Erika didn't go along well with animals, she wouldn't really know much herself, and honestly, she quite preferred it that way. "Well, I'm sure Liz would appreciate the gesture regardless."
"Alright, alright," Erika laughed and lifted her hands up in defense. "Well, it wasn't much of a choice," she said, quirking a brow. "You can be quite persistent." Which was probably one of the reasons Liz had felt attracted towards him in the first place. Then again, who wasn't? Erika couldn't picture wanting to be with someone who wasn't even going to bother fighting to keep someone they cared about around, but that was only her opinion. When it came down to it, she figured one's love was proven on how hard they wanted to keep things the way they were, rather than just letting it all slip away.
Then again, she personally sucked at that, as she was and had always been rather incapable of expressing herself, both to friends and boyfriends.
"Where is Liz now anyways?" she asked and started looking around. "I thought you guys would be here together, glued to each other like never before."

Beau nodded, again readjusting his grip on the giant stuffed... creature (which he had on hand, just to clarify and note that I did not lose a giant, freaking stuffed toy in two damn threads). The smells already tugged at his stomach, and it took all Beau had not to take a deep breath and just inhale that stuff. he settled for walking forward again.
Erika's question made him chuckle and turn his smiling face toward her. "We ain't that attached at the hip," he replied, "though I guess I oughta say---nah, that's too much," Beau was going to say attached at the lip, but that felt decidedly rude, so he shook his head. "Anyways, I wanted to come ahead of time, double-check an' all. Liz had some errands to do an' all. 'sides, can't surprise her with this sucker," he hefted the giant toy, "if she's here, now can I?'
Another step, and they were standing in front of the line for the delicious food. Beau shifted the toy to dig around for his wallet, already putting in an order for two deep fried, bacon wrapped twinkies, but paused for finalizing. "Didja want yours to be chocolate dipped too? 'cuz it seems like that's an option," Beau nodded toward the menu, where they told all the unholy things they would do to a Twinkie for the right price.

Erika was a little glad Beau wasn't the type to share explicit details about his relationship with Liz. Well, at least to some degree. It felt better coming from Liz, if she ever felt like she wanted Erika to know. Besides, even though Erika found herself knowing Beau on a higher level than him just being Liz's boyfriend, she didn't wish to intrude in their relationship, just as she would have hated it if someone did the same thing to her - although, it seemed like people loved sticking their noses into her business.
"You make a very valid point there, Beau," Erika laughed. "Alright, alright, I'll back off," she added with a grin.
Leaning forward, Erika's brown eyes gazed over the... Well, whatever it was that was supposedly food. Grimacing slightly, she tossed Beau a sideways glance. Well, at least she had learned from experience that even though something looked horribly morbid, it could still taste like heaven. "Chocolate dipped?" she quipped a little too high pitched. "Uh... I'll just take whatever you're taking." God, she hoped she wasn't going to regret this.
Well, Beau had proved to have good taste as it was though. After all, he was dating Liz.

Beau chuckled as Erika laughed, chuckled and nodded and took another step forward. He could practically feel the doubt rolling off her as they looked over the food, the utterly delicious smell of what lay before them rolling over them both and practically engulfing them, threatening to become the only thing they ever smelled for their entire lives, or at least for the next few days.
"Yeah, Liz loves 'em,' replied Beau, actually meaning it. Of course, they both knew that Liz loved quite a few odd combinations of food. She could probably have given Frank Cox a run for her money if it came down to it. Still, Beau placed the order for two of them, digging the right amount of cash out of his pocket to hand over, then he leaned against the counter.
"An' I bet I know what you're thinkin':" he said, pointing at Erika, "you're thinkin' that there ain't no way this is gonna taste even the least bit good, right? Trust me on this, it's one o' those things that's jus' so wrong that it jus' goes all the way 'back 'round to bein' right again."
Beau grinned then, before looking as they prepared their twinkie treats. Always cool to see the food being made, after all.
