Grocery Shop Reunion

[Blake Harlow]

Yes, Blake might have been flirting with her just a little bit. Blake however was a good friend so she would not do anything that would be a huge deal. She was pansexual and was pretty sure she had been that way for a long time. She never really cared all that much about what people were, so long as they had a well enough personality it was not a big deal to her. She had 'experimented' with both sides before and found that she enjoyed more so who the person was then what they could do for her in the bedroom. Now her mind was in the gutter for a moment but she didn't have a hard time at all getting it out and focusing on the whole exchanging of numbers between herself and Reid. It was good to get Reid's number and the fact that they had run into one another and were now reconnecting.

Blake could not help but to laugh at little at Reid's warning now that she had Blake's cellphone number. "The stalking would not be all that new, but the booty calls would be. Looking forward to it all." Blake responded while she let out a small chuckle, still finding it all too amusing and just loved that Reid said it. Once the numbers were exchanged and saved, Blake focused on her groceries and then getting back to Reid's side. She was looking forward to just sitting down and chatting with the other woman and finding out what all happened with her and what she was currently up to. Possibly ask about how she felt or handled that whole SPECTRE attack and if she was alright. Blake was always the type to look after her friends after all, especially ones that she knew for years.

Blake listened closely as Reid informed her of how right after she graduated she stayed around and joined the PD. That was good of her to join the law enforcements. Had she always wanted to do such a thing? Blake was trying to remember, but only could recall that Reid was well Reid. Blake having always enjoyed the company of the younger woman back when they were students. Blake was unsure as well if Reid was the only one to stay behind in their batch as she said. Blake having lost contact with a couple of people she was close with when she had to start traveling around to go pick up other mutants. Her power just worked out so great for it and she did enjoy it, but it was also important to train the students, and she had been asked to do that as well. So now she did both but focused more on being a trainer. "You are going to have to give me a ride in your cop car sometime." Blake pointed out, thinking that it would be interesting to be in one.

They arrived at the coffee shop, Blake zipping her bag of candies up because candies and coffee did not go well together. Sweets like cake and cookies did very well so that was going to be added to Blake's drink. The place had a few people in, clearly the place had good business and that meant getting seats might be a little difficult at this hour. Reid coming up with a smart plan that Blake nodded to in agreement. "Yes Officer Reid." Blake said with a small smile as she moved to go find them somewhere to sit. "Oh and could you get me a chocolate chip cookie with my drink?" Blake asked, because she really wanted a cookie with some coffee, it would be so good. Then she would focused on finding a seat, spotting two comfy chairs right near the window and moved to claim them. Making sure the table was cleaned off before sitting down to lounge in the chair while she waited for Reid to get everything. Ready to help if needed.

Occupational hazard triggered concern at the seemingly joking statement Blake gave about stalking. She responded in a more or less teasing way as well but it did hold a bit of concern. "I got a whole precinct dedicated to that kinda problem, Blake. You have my number, that's all it takes. I will rain God's wrath on them, just call me."

A small smirk appeared on the redhead's face at Blake's suggestion of riding the cop car. "I'm looking forward to reading you your Miranda rights, Miss Harlow." Her smirk deepened and Reid couldn't stop the self-doubt concerning her sexuality. It may sound like harmless flirting but Reid was definitely into it.

Chuckling lightly at the formal address, Reid gave Blake a small salute, nodding at her order of cookies. She placed in their orders and waited before picking up the tray. She made a beeline towards Blake as soon as she found the older woman and set the things down on the table, placing the pretty full plate of assorted cookies in the middle of the table so they could both enjoy it.

"I'm going to just get it out of the way because I have been dying to know since I set my eyes on you earlier. Is there a lucky guy pining away at home for your return? Or girl...?" Reid asked hesitantly as she bit into her almond biscotti.

Blake saw the concern and it was not as if she had been seeking it. Sure it was true that she had to deal with stalkers before but she was not worried. So long as there was a mutant around in range she be able to defend herself and she had her training. Plus she grew up with three older brothers so there was that as well. Blake smiled sweetly at her friend, reaching out to place a hand on Reid’s shoulder as if to say ‘everything alright, don’t worry about me’. “Thanks Reid. I’ll be sure to call you then; however, who do you call if I end up stalking you?” Blake teased their at the end, wanting to keep things like and not have Reid worry about her. It was one thing to have someone older then you worry about you, but Reid was younger than her and Blake was sure that Reid had looked up to her back in school. She did not want to worry Reid at all, especially not when Reid had other things to worry about.

“Oh joy, will I be cuffed as well and searched? Should I confess all crimes now?” Blake teased back at Reid with the whole Miranda rights talk. Been a while since she heard them and yes that did mean that Blake had been arrested before, more so on a bit of violence. Most of it was to defend herself but in all honestly a vast amount of it was defending her friends from anyone that would bad talk them. Punching people in the face and breaking their nose was a nice way to end up in jail for a night or a few days depending on just how bad you wrecked the other person and if they wanted to press charges or not. Most did not since well, who wanted to admit they got beat by a woman? Blake of course was flirting, but had meant it in playful and harmless way since Reid was her friend and she didn’t really think that Reid was interested in woman. She remembered that Reid had dated guys in the past so assumed that was her team still.

“Oh, this the royal treatment Reid?” Blake asked when Reid came back over with a wide range of choices of cookies. Blake likely to eat them all and liked pretty much all forms of cookies so had no complaints at all. Blake was already reaching out for a cookie when the question came out of Reid’s lips, causing Blake to chuckle. “Well Miss dying to know since I set my eyes on you earlier, I’m actually single at the moment, have been for about a month now?” Blake said in sort of a question because she was not sure how long since she broke up with the last guy that she was going out with. “Oh and I play for both teams you could say. In case you don’t remember seeing me kiss a girl before back when we were in school.” Blake pointed out, having no shame as she gave Reid a wink and sipped from her coffee.

Chuckling at Blake's concern, she raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "I will be sure to handle you myself, Miss. Don't you forget that." She quirked her eyebrow repeatedly with a small smirk.

Blake's tease made Reid laugh, reaching forward to poke the older woman's arm. "Don't tempt me, woman." She responded with a light chuckle. Reid had seen her fair share of arrests, ranging from minor robbery to homicidal cases. Each time, reciting the Miranda rights sort of gave her a rush. And each time she wished she never had to do it again.

"It's always the royal treatment with me, Blake." She winked at the older woman suggestively before chuckling. She really needed to rein it in.

Hearing that Blake had been single for a while made Reid wonder what the hell was wrong with the men here. And women for that matter. It didn't surprise her at all that Blake was open with her sexuality. Why shouldn't she? She was ridiculously gorgeous and she knew it.

Then again, she was also not surprised that Blake was single. The woman held herself up to a standard all of her own and whoever managed to get on her good side in the end better be sure they couldn't do any better.

"Oh you've broke plenty of hearts before, I've seen it happen. I think one of my roommates had the hugest crush on you but you were always unavailable." Reid looked at Blake over the rim of her coffee mug, the corner of her lip upturned in a smirk.

"Handle me yourself huh? Sounds like it would be fun." Blake admitted because it did sound like it would be fun. There was no need to lie to a friend after all, but again because Reid was a friend Blake was going to behave herself. Reid was teasing and play flirting back so it was only fair to do the same. Plus Blake was currently wearing her Serpent necklace which meant she was a little more on the wild and flirty side. She probably should not have been wearing that one at the moment but she had originally been wearing a different one and switched them out when she was putting her groceries away. It was like her mind subconsciously knew that she and Reid would enjoy it all the more if they were flirting while they chatted and caught up to what one another had been up to. There was a poke then and Reid telling her to not tempt her, but being told not to just made current Blake want to do the opposite.

"Not making any promises. I'm not under oath." Blake pointed out as she munched on another cookie, not even sure which one she grabbed this time around. Blake could not help but to smirk suggestively in response back to Reid's suggestive wink. "My, my, Reid. You have certainly stepped up your game. You meet a nice guy yourself recently?" Blake asked since she did want to know the relationship status of her friend. That was important to Blake even if she was not actively seeking out to hook up with someone. She was just concerned about her friends was all and if they were messing around with someone she wanted to know who so she could get a good read on them.

Blake was a known heartbreaker; she was always the one to break up with a person first in a relationship before they even got a chance to. Sometimes it happened without warning when she would just drop the 'it's over' line when they would think everything was fine. She would give her reasons of course and it was not like she thought she was like the best thing in the world they could get. She just didn't see the point in being with someone if well you no longer wanted to. It was not about looks for her, yes she knew she looked good, and as happy to look so good, but it never made her think she was better in that regards. Blake chuckled at Reid pointing out that one of her roommates had a crush on Blake and how she was always unavailable. "It seemed as soon as I broke up with one person another person was ready to take their place. I never actually pursued any of my crushed." Blake admitted since all her crushed had been on her friends after all.

"I knew there were a few boys and even this girl that had a fancy for you back when we were in school." Blake pointed out, remembering people talking about the cute red head that was Reid. Even if she had glasses and the like, that was some peoples type after all, and not everyone thought about looks and more so about personality.

"You betcha." Reid chuckled, leaving it at that. She wasn't going to add more because she was kind of afraid she would actually act on her impulses. That would be so weird.

Pursing her lips to stop herself from laughing at Blake's next sentence, Reid had to start munching on her biscotti, glad it was hard to bite on. Blake's question made Reid shake her head in amusement. Should she tell Blake about JJ? She somehow felt that the older woman might not approve.

But it wasn't like she was pursuing anything with JJ. Then, what about Cyril? Blake might think he was a hoot. Or at the very least amusing. And then the small reunion she had with Dexter Stirling was also something she thought was worth noting.

"Well...yes? Do you remember Dexter Stirling? He graduated with me. He was kinda loud and all gung ho about everything. We met again recently. And...I'm guessing you know Cyril since he works up at Bellefonte. He's the stable hand." She explained before quickly saying, "I mean I met...those nice guys recently but I'm not sure if...there's anything there." She chuckled sheepishly before shaking her head. "They're really nice though."

The trip down memory lane had Reid nodding. "Well yeah but they should have known better. Falling for the sexy senior...it's a straight path down the friendzone." Reid chuckled.

Trying to recall whether Blake's statement could ring true, Reid laughed and shook her head. "No way. I mean...apart from Lucas, I don't remember anybody else trying their moves on me." The mention of her ex didn't pain her as much as it used to. It still stung but she didn't feel like crying anymore.

Blake just kept her smile at Reid's response, pleased to hear it but again was going to be a good Blake and not push it if Reid was not going to. The other women seemed like she was trying to behave herself as well. Reid pursed her lips and went on to munch on a biscotti. Blake grabbing one as well to much on after having another sip of her coffee, pretty much enjoying it all. Reid should have told Blake about JJ, and there was a high chance that Blake would not approve. Well actually she could not judge JJ since she could not recall meeting the guy before, but she had been a bit bad at remembering people that did not end up one of her friends from back when she was in school. Blake still wanted the best for her friends, but if she knew that Reid was just messing around with him she probably just advise her to make sure she used protection so she did not catch anything or end up with the dudes kid or anything like that.

Blake was looking at Reid as she said yes to the whole question about if she met anyone nice recently. There was the question if she remembered a Dexter Stirling, which had Blake digging deep in her brain to see if she could recall the guy. "I think so. You have to point his face out in the year book for me to remember fully." Blake admitted because just trying to remember by a name was a little difficult and she did better at recalling things if she had a face to go with the name. There was then talk about a Cyril fellow, who Blake had not met yet, but she did see him around the stables with no shirt on. It was a nice view but she had been busy at the time and didn't really get the chance to go and say hi to him or anything. Blake smiled coolly at her friend as she reached a hand across the table to poke at Reid's arm.

"Do you fancy the both of them? It had to be clear if they were taking an interest in you. You know guys are bad at hiding it most of the time." Blake said with a chuckle, finding that guys didn't really hide it all that well, but nor did girls sometimes. Reid then pointed out how people should have known better then to fall for the sexy senior that was Blake. "You called me sexy." Blake teased with a smirk and then took another sip from her coffee. Sure Reid probably had said that word already and Blake would be happy to inform Reid how sexy Reid was as well, but she just wanted to see how Reid was when she pointed it out. Reid was laughing again as she didn't seem to believe what Reid was saying about others having a fancy for Reid.

"The whole not trying moves on you might have been might fault." Blake admitted, thinking she recalled a time when she had basically threatened a guy to stay away from Reid. The guy was bad after all and Blake personally never even liked Lucas. "Didn't want any of the bad ones getting near you." Blake pointed out with an apologetic look on her face, but she honestly didn't mean any harm back then, she just didn't want her friend to get hurt. She didn't want any of them too.

Reid nodded, knowing already which page Dexter would be on. No, it wasn't that she had put hearts around his photo. Maybe.

Blake's question had Reid chuckling with a shrug. "It's kind of hard not to like them both. I mean, they both have some really appealing..." Reid snorted at the word, having been reminded of Cyril's opening pun. God that man. "Sorry, what was I saying? Um, yeah...they've both got qualities I find attractive." She admitted.

"Oh Blake, it's not like you didn't know." Reid rested her elbow on the table before propping her chin up on her palm, drumming her fingers against her cheek with a cheeky grin directed at Blake.

Frowning slightly at the admission, not really know what to make of it, Reid tilted her head slightly to the side. And then it hit her. Had it been Blake who had stopped the people from trying their moves on her? That was insanely sweet! "Blake!" She pursed her lips to stop herself from grinning too widely. "Are you trying to tell me you were my patron saint of bad sexual experiences back in high school?" She chuckled, meaning to tease.

Oh if Blake saw hearts around Dexter in Reid's yearbook, she was going to say something about it. Tease her a little and then ask how come she never caught on that Reid possibly had a thing for the guy. Yet it was not all that surprising cause unless she outright caught someone staring or saying something about someone, she was actually not all that good at being able to tell when someone did have a thing for someone else. It might have been because she was more often playing it safe among her friends that she never really caught when they themselves could have been serious about someone. She was a little better at least telling when someone was interested in her friends, but not so much the other way around.

Just thinking about it made her wonder just how many times she might have missed or possibly messed something up for one of her friends because she didn't know they liked them. Oh well, that was in the past and she could not do too much about it now. Right now she was paying attention to what Reid was saying about how it was kind of hard to not like them both. That had something appealing about them, but there Reid cut off, possibly getting distracted about thoughts on the men which had Blake smirking a little. She was about to make a comment but Reid snapped out of it and asked what she was talking about, only to answer her own question by admitting that they had qualities that made them attractive. "Attractive huh? So it’s safe to assume you were day dreaming about the two of them a second ago correct? Did someone say love triangle?" Blake teased her friend as she took another sip of her coffee.

"Still nice to hear it. Even more so when it comes from someone sexy as well." Blake pointed out, and yes she had basically called Reid sexy back and she meant it. Reid was attractive after all, but Blake had always thought that about Reid. About all of her friends. Think I have like a friendship lust issue. Blake thought to herself with a mental chuckle at the thought of it, amused greatly at the cheeky grin on Reid's face. A small frown did appear on Reid's face after Blake admitted to more or less being a 'block' for Reid and possible hook ups. Blake chuckled at her friends words and nodded her head yes a little with a shrug. "You could say I was something like that. Don't like the wrong people getting their hands on my friends. Missed one sadly." Blake said, the last bit of words spoken a little lower and into her coffee, not wanting to upset Reid about her ex, but that was just what Blake thought.

"Wha-no!" Reid laughed at Blake's assumption. "Come on no. Although I was thinking about one of them. His opening line was a pun. It...it was the reason why I agreed to go on a date with him in the first place." She chuckled, running her fingers through her hair sheepishly.

She wouldn't call it a love triangle. She wasn't in love with the men. She was attracted to them greatly for sure but really, she wasn't involved with either of them...yet. God, what would she do if she did get involved with one of them?

Distracting herself with Blake's compliment, she lifted her shoulder up happily. "Blake, you make my heart go flutter flutter." She chuckled as she munched on her biscotti.

Blake lowering her voice had Reid cracking a small smile. "It's not your fault. It was bound to happen. I mean how many high school relationships actually last beyond adulthood, am I right?" Reid shrugged and patted Blake's hand reassuringly. "Besides, he's gone now. And I'm being pursued by two really hot guys. I'd say my life's pretty good with him gone."

Blake just chuckled as Reid was laughing and denying any thoughts of a three way between her and her too boys of interest. Hey, Blake was not judging and if Reid liked to spice up her life in that way, then power to her. To each their own in other words. Still, she did believe Reid when the other woman said that; no, she was not thinking about such things. The other woman was apparently thinking about an opening pun one of them had told her and how she agreed to have a date with him. Wait, a date? “A date? My, my Reid. Meeting this new guy only once and a pun is enough to get a date with you? Wish I would have known.” Blake teased as she finished off the cookie she was working on and instead focused a little more on her coffee. Tempted to eat some gummy worms that she had on her or a lollypop but she was not really sure how well it would go with what she was currently consuming.

There was that hand going through Reid’s hair that Blake was all too familiar with, that just had her keeping a smile on her face as she looked at the other woman. She chuckled a little at Reid stating that Blake made her heart go flutter flutter. “Good to know I’m not too old then. Wonder some days when I lose the ability to make someone’s heart go flutter flutter.” A tease from Blake yet again, but also something she did wonder from time to time. Sure she had her looks but looked did not always win the hearts; words did, and when words failed and looked failed. Well…what else did you have going for you? Well there was personality, but that sort of went with words in a way. Blake did lower her eyes and look away from Reid as the other woman apparently had heard her lower spoken words.

It was good to known that Reid seemed like for the most part she was over the guy and that it was not a big deal. As she said, it was just high school relationship and it seemed to be more of a tread that those relationships didn’t last long. Granted; with what she heard on the news recently, marriages didn’t last all that long no matter when someone met their ‘love’. There was a time that Blake figured that one of her high school relationships would have lasted for a while, but she had felt weird about going out with literally her childhood friend. Now she was pretty sure that woman hated her and it was sad because she really did enjoy their friendship…even when it was odd at times. “Mmm, yes I would say that being sought after by two hot guys would be a step in the good life direction.” Blake said with a nod and then looked at Reid, patting the hand that had patted her own moments ago.

“You know you are going to have to give me all the girl talk about them and how your dates go right?” Blake asked, and yes she did sound a little more on the girl side; because hello talking about men, granted she would also be up for talking about woman.

Reid wasn't the type of person to wait around for the next best thing when a good thing was already present in her life. She was a go-getter and if that painted her to be easy, especially when it came to intimacy, then so be it. She knew what she wanted.

"Blake, you're a woman after my own heart." She chuckled when Blake implied that she would have pursued her had she known it to be easy. "What?" Reid exclaimed when Blake thought she was too old. "Are you kidding me? You won't crack. I refuse to believe you would and besides, if high school was anything to go by, people's hearts will forever go flutter flutter when you walk into a room. Trust me."

Laughing when Blake agreed with her on the sought after front, Reid smiled widely at her senior. Of course, there was more to her life being good than the men in it but hey, her career was on track, she was free to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted to...the men were just icing on the cake.

"Are you kidding me? I'm calling Lordy and Tam and we're doing a slumber party to end all slumber parties." Reid gushed.

Blake knew all too well the kind of person Reid was, she had not changed too much from back in their high school days. Then again many people didn't really change all that much from high school. Possibly small parts of them did, but overall people tended to remain the same as they were by the time they were in their last years of high school. When all of their hormones settled down and they were more or less adults when they turned eighteen years old. Blake would not have called her easy, but she had stopped people from going after Reid in high school because she knew some others thought of her that way. She didn't want people taking advantage of her friend or breaking her too bad. She liked to see Reid smile and hear about the things Reid got into over the years as she would think back to the 'good old days'.

"I might be." Blake teased as Reid said that she was a woman after her own heart, leaving it to Reid to take that how she liked. Already done with most of the cookies that Reid had gotten for them. She had a sweet tooth after all and sweets did not really last that long when they were in front of Blake Harlow. Blake nodded as Reid quickly told her that there was no way that she was going to stop making people’s hearts go flutter flutter when she would walk into a room. It was good to hear that Reid did think she was going to look attractive forever and while Blake liked to believe it, she was not immortal and was going to keep aging until the day she died. She did hope she manage to keep her looks as long as possible. "I'll have to be on the watch for you then. Making all of these guys fall for you." Blake said, changing the subject a little to be back onto Reid.

Not that she didn't want to talk about her own looks, but she really didn't. She was thankful for the complements but wanted to make sure Reid understood that she was a very attractive woman as well. Blake chuckled at Reid saying that she was going to call up Lordon and Tamara for a sleep over for all of them. "Don't think we are all too old for a slumber party? It’s going to be one of those adult slumber parties right? Need me to get some strippers?" Blake asked, half teasing but really did like the idea of a slumber party. That would have been a lot of fun. If they did it in Lordon and her room then Sorcha could partake if she so desired to.

Reid looked at Blake with a small smile before taking a sip from her mug. It felt weird, the sensation she was getting from the older woman.

There were seriously some very important questions she would need to ask herself when she got home. First of which was: why the hell am I getting tingles from being near Blake?

"Oh my." Reid raised an eyebrow before giggling at Blake's statement.

Shaking her head at Blake's question about their age, Reid shook a finger at her older friend. "Nope. No such thing as age when it comes to fun times with sexy ladies and booze. And hells yes, bring the strippers. If we can't afford it, we'll do the stripping ourselves. You're down for that right?" Reid chuckled.

Blake didn't know what was going through Reid's mind or how Reid was currently feeling with how Blake was teasing her. She needed Lordon around in order to read Reid's mind, so at the moment all she could do was pick up on Reid's power. Reid's power they she was used to copying and like to use, but they were in public so she could not just start lifting things up with her mind. Reid did not know it and nor did any of Blake's friends, but Blake did actually have a small thing for pretty much all of them. She pretty much always ended up having a small crush on all of her close friends and it sucked because she would never say anything about it and keep it hidden. It was best that way so she did not risk losing her very important friends.

"I'm sure if we put our money together we can afford some. Not sure how well I can handle all of us putting on our own strip club." Blake said as she felt herself going little warm at the thought of it. She hoped Reid didn't forget that Blake didn't care about someone’s gender which effectively meant that she swung both ways. Having a sleepover strip party with woman she all had crushes on, that was a great idea. That will be a battle for the ages. Blake thought to herself, trying to keep the images out of her mind. Yes she had changed with all of them and did pretty well with not starting for too long or making things weird. Having all three there might have just been enough for Blake to just outright pass out.

"I'm down for anything with you all. Would be good for us all to get together like the good old days." Blake said with a smile, more or less game for anything that allowed her to hang out with her dear friends that she missed.
