"Oh!" A really, really uneasy laugh came from Vera. So not only was her twin also a telekinetic, the girl right next to her... who had been around Vera this whole time was one of those people in movies and shows that could read minds. Like this day just couldn't get any more awkward.
That thought stayed on her mind as she looked more closely at the training field. Testing things and shaking shit up... sounded like her kind of party. Minus the powers thing because then that would just be a murder fest, she had no current control over a particular 'boom', if you know what I mean.
Vera looked back at Elsa totally ignoring the fact that they had just seen the training and area facility. Changing the subject back to earlier, "Arena, training, awesome! Okay! So like... that means you can read minds right? Like, mine? Because is that something you usually tell people right off the bat or do you wait until later because like I know for a fact I just pictured a few guys around here naked... so like I apologize for that."

Elsa had to fight between either sighing or chuckling at Vera's working through her ability. "it's voluntary for me: I have to actively be trying," she explained, "otherwise I'd be constantly picking up people's thoughts, and believe me, most people spend far, far too much time thinking about sex," Elsa's nose wrinkled up, her disapproval obvious. Not that she couldn't see a reason for it sometimes; the occasional boy was cute... or girl. She brushed that thought aside, continuing: "But even then, I mostly just skim. It's like when you browse a website or something," Elsa shrugged. Pictures were always a little awkward that way, but she didn't see any reason to tell that to Vera.
"Besides, they are cute," agreed Elsa. She turned and looked at the field, nodding again. "You sure you don't have any questions? I don't want to rush you or anything; it's just that, well, we have a lot of ground to cover," she tapped her clipboard, as if she really needed to remind the other girl of that.

"Oohh." She said as her lips shaped into an O. Vera had no idea how these ability things worked. It felt like just the other day, she was able to move crap around by simply thinking about it, without even knowing what it was called. Now she was attending an academy full of people just like, so learning about all of these new abilities was really confusing. Unless you read comics then... it wasn't that bad. It was weird how much comics and real life seemed to go hand in hand. Mind you, Vera's mother always said comic books weren't real. Oh how wrong she was.
"That sounds like fuuuunnn." She chuckled, "Or not... you know, depending on who you are." Vera always wanted to know what went on in the minds of most men. It sounded like watching sex scenes over and over and over again. So hot.
Vera put her hands up, "Oh don't let me interrupt the tour then. I don't really have any questions now, if anything I can just learn from getting lost... or my handy dandy packet of fun facts and information." She said as she raised her brows in sarcastic excitement. She was used to learning from her mistakes in which she made very little. Or so she thought.

Elsa had to fight back from commenting as Vera declared that her ability "sounded fun." In her opinion, most abilities sounded fun, right up until you actually experienced them for yourself. Though, if she were being even more honest, she would have admitted that she enjoyed and appreciated her own powers. It gave her an edge over the rest of the world, and such a thing could mean all the difference. In fact, Elsa was tempted to say as much to Vera, but just barely stopped herself.
"It can be, uh, distracting," she volunteered instead, figuring that Vera was wondering about how Elsa felt. She could've read the other girl's mind, or at least focused more in on the thoughts: Elsa was technically skimming across Vera's thoughts as it was, more out of habit than anything. She wasn't great at doing such things subtly though, so doubtless Vera felt the tingling sensation across her thoughts.
Though Elsa didn't need her powers to pick up the sarcasm dripping from Vera. She rolled her eyes at that. "It's not my fault that the tour has a set path, and the packet really is..." Elsa bit her lip and averted her eyes, shuffling a bit. "anyway, we should probably head into the studios. We can either go in through the locker rooms, there," she pointed down a little from where they stood, "and come up through the building, or we can walk around a little back the way we came," she turned and pointed again, "which will take us closer to the landscaped areas," which Elsa preferred, though she could see why someone would want to look at the locker rooms though. She'd wait for Vera to decide and then begin leading the girl in whichever direction she selected.

Okay so maybe Elsa didn't think it sounded fun? Vera didn't really know. Ever since she arrived, Elsa had been looking at her with the most 'eh' facial expressions... which was fine. Vera had moments where she questioned Elsa's words, especially with the dry joke from the beginning. To each it's own.
Nodding, Vera could understand the distracting part. If anything, Vera was sure that she'd be in everyone's minds, every minute of the day because she was out right nosy. Not so nosy that people could tell right when meeting her but the girl was curious. So curious that she even had more personal questions for Elsa as she felt a slight tingling sensation and completely ignored it.
Looking at the packet, Vera rolled her eyes. All of this was so damn tedious and honestly all Vera wanted to do was sleep and find information in the packet of how comfortable the beds were here. Since Elsa was doing such a good job with showing her around, Vera might as well give the chick a break. "Okay, okay. I get options... cool. I guess we can come up through the building, I don't really mind either way." She said looking up at Elsa, waiting for her to continue on.
"I don't have to worry about another student killing me in my sleep by accident, do I? I get the whole being trained to be better in life but I'm doubting everyone is that good."

"School is three parts tedium to one part learning," said Elsa, accidentally addressing the thought and sensations that she read from Vera instead of the actual words. She didn't seem to mind either, simply nodding and moving down to the building. They'd enter through the locker room doors, heading up through the bowels of the building. It all struck Elsa as being rather dark and smelly, but there were various pictures and trophies for the various students, celebrating what they'd managed to accomplish athletically. Naturally they compared super-strength to super-strength and the like, seeing who did best. There were also Arena records, though as far as Elsa knew, the Arena hadn't been used very competitively lately.
Not surprisingly, Vera had another question, one that got Elsa to let out another dry laugh. "Not unless you anger them. The rooms are situated so it's rather difficult for a student to accidentally get to someone else. Dorm monitors can get there fairly quickly and intercept the most difficult and dire situations as well. Plus, most people's abilities just plain don't activate while they sleep,' said Elsa, looking over at Vera and shrugging. "I sometimes pick up other people's dreams, for example, usually my sister's, but it's not as though I'll be reading your deepest, darkest secrets or anything."
Often.
"There's some records and pictures of the various athletic accomplishments," said Elsa, figuring that she should continue the whole tour guide thing, pointing at various things and nodding.

"School is three parts tedium to one part learning,"
Vera slightly looked up from the packet, trying to figure out where Elsa had got that from but of course, Vera figured. Sighing, she tucked the information underneath her arm as the continued to move. She couldn't help but to eye at the trophies. It wasn't marveling but it was somewhat impressive. It reminded her of her collection of trophies back at home that were joined with Jason's. Honestly it was really repetitive of how much football and cheer crap decorated the sports area of their New York home.
At least it reminded her of how much better she had to be. "Good to know. Minus the whole picking up on people's dreams. That shit sounds scary unless it's a sex dream probably." Vera had nights where her nightmares would wake her up and make it difficult to want to sleep again, she could only imagine what everyone else had went through.
"You guys must have worked hard for these. Can't wait to help add on." Vera smiled, so sure of herself.

"It can be terrifying," admitted Elsa, "or... awkward," Elsa paused for a moment, then shrugged, "and sometimes awkwardly terrifying."
That was at least somewhat closer to a funny comment, at least it had to be better than Elsa's lame attempt at a joke. She kept going forward, nodding as Vera offered to add more to the trophies and such. Elsa wasn't entirely sure how much work actually went into them; she didn't exactly pay a lot of attention to those sorts of things. This didn't prevent her from nodding though, certain that Vera would prove true to her word. Elsa kept going with the tour, pointing out the location of locker rooms as they headed up into the school. They'd rise up in the classroom area, where there were a few other students, mostly catching up on various assignments and such. Elsa pointed in one direction, nodding.
"The studios are over that way," she said by way of explanation, starting that way. "Were there particular studios you wanted to see? These are mostly the art ones; the dance studios are elsewhere...' Elsa actually knew where those were, dance being one of the few things she could actually manage. Still, she doubted that had been Vera's interest. The girl just didn't strike Elsa as the ballerina type.
Post by Vera M. Solway on May 29, 2014 14:48:37 GMT -6
Her head cocked to where Elsa mentioned the studios would be located. Vera wasn't an artist of the drawing and painting mediums. She considered herself more of an artist of dance. Ever since she was a little girl she wanted to grow up being considered whatever everyone else her mother as. That was who a true artist of dance was, the woman who gave birth to her and helped raise her. Starting off as a little ballerina wasn't really something Vera bragged about but if it hadn't been for her mom, she wouldn't have developed her love for the other genres of dance. "Yeah, could we take a look in the dance studios? If it doesn't throw your master plan of this tour of magic and surprises off, of course." Sarcasm was used.. still but just not as much as when they started. They were getting to the good parts, or at least the parts that Vera was interested in seeing. Everything else could pretty much go fuck off.
As they continued, Vera walked backwards as she looked at Elsa for a few minutes before even saying anything. "So... Do you have a boo or anything? A boyfriend? Oh wait, or if you're into girls, a girlfriend? A bothfriend?" Elsa was actually a very attractive chick. If she was actually into girls, she'd probably hit on her but then again she hits on both genders regardless. Vera was always weird like that.

The dance studio? Elsa couldn't help but blink at that, pausing for a moment. She reminded herself of her professionalism though, and started forward, altering their direction ever so slightly. "Of course we can,' she said. The sarcastic addition regarding the tour was summarily ignored. Elsa heard it, of course, even with her slight stun at actually having to direct them toward dance, but she didn't see any reason to actually encourage Vera to act like that.
Speaking of encouraging: somehow the conversation had gotten around to Elsa's dating life. She supposed she should've figured as much, and while she was tempted to just point out that this had absolutely no relevance on what they were doing at the moment, she instead opted to at least offer something approaching an answer. "I don't currently have anyone, and there's one thing you'll find about the Bellefontes sooner or later: gender doesn't really matter a great deal to us when it comes to our various paramours,' she offered a slight smile at that. It sometimes shocked people, thinking of an entire family that bounced the spectrum from demi to pan. Elsa supposed it could also have been offering tacit permission for Vera to flirt, but she didn't see any real harm in that. Not like anything would come of it.
"The dance studios are right around the corner here," she said, pointing and nodding ahead. they were moving at a decent clip, after all.

That quick change in Elsa's face... Vera wasn't too sure what that was for or even what to think of it so she simply brushed it off. She almost looked at herself if there had been something about her that seemed unusual all of a sudden? No? Nothing was different, weird. Vera was just interested in seeing the studio and into seeing how much room and space and how many different studios they had.
Vera lifted her brows as she gave a very 'aaahh' like facial expression but more so at the fact that their family had been very open when it came to sexual preferences. That had to have been the best thing in the world, honestly. There were still families who lived only in a certain race and sexuality state of mind. Vera's own family had been another story. "Relationships only end up destroying you inside out anyway." She said, humoring her own experiences with past relationships. Break ups never really did end up simple for her.
When Elsa motioned to the dance studios, Vera nodded, making a mental note for later. She'd probably end up signing up for certain clubs and such later so that she would be able to see the rooms more up close and personal.

Elsa had to chuckle a little at Vera's words. "Would you care to tell that to my sister sometime?" she said, her voice a little lighter. Though that did mean that she was essentially telling Vera to go find Erika. Oh well, they'd probably meet doing some sporty thing. Vera looked like the type who went for cheerleading, so Elsa was betting on that being where she met the social Bellefonte.
They rounded the corner though, the dance studios just ahead. Elsa paused and checked, wanting to make sure that nobody had reserved the room. No one had. She nodded and looked back to Vera. "The dance studios are actually very well furnished and taken care of. They've been especially upgraded and equipped with some of the best flooring available as well as various bars and the like," Elsa gestured for Vera to enter, and she'd soon enter. What Elsa didn't mention was that a lot of the improvements had come when she and Erika had joined the school. They'd both been involved with dance, after all.
The studio looked as good as Elsa said, possibly better. Everything looked of the utmost quality, but there was still an aura of use about it. This was not equipment to be stared at and put aside; it was equipment to be used. Elsa entered and tried not to look as though she was familiar. She wasn't, at least, not as much as she used to be. She dropped dance when she began to realize that Erika would always be better at it then her.

"Would you care to tell that to my sister sometime?"
Vera laughed. "I'll be sure to do that." If it sounded like she was joking, she wasn't. Vera would probably end up telling Elsa's twin while not remembering exactly... or that it was a joke in the first place.
Throughout the whole tour, Vera had been someone in awe. Yeah, she went to a big school before BA but nothing as big and as nice as this. So she was excited to see inside the dance studios. She heard Elsa and figured she probably wouldn't even been able to tell if they were updated or not but as soon as she entered the studio, all of that didn't mattered. Her eyes lit up, there was space for her to dance!
Vera put her packet of information on the ground before forming her feet in position to do a cartwheel that transitioned into a back hand spring and landed into a steady split, right in the middle of the studio. Sure, it wasn't the gym but it was still space and it had been a while before she was able to really move. Surviving a plane crash to only be in a coma could have you off your feet for longer than you expected. Vera still had kinks in her and constant side effects but she was told she would be good for the most part.
Getting up, she looked at Elsa and smiled. "You dance?" Elsa didn't really seem like the dancing type but you never know. Vera was kind of in the mood to put on some music and get to it but she figured they still had more stuff to check out?

Elsa gave Vera a look that hovered somewhere over the between skeptical and amused. Somehow she doubted that Vera would actually say as much to Erika, once she got to know her. Even in the relatively short time that Elsa had interacted with Vera, she'd discovered that the other girl certainly fit the type that would make friends with Erika fast. Something told her that in a few months, they'd be awkwardly waving at one another and offering all too cheery hi's while waiting for Erika to finish getting her hair ready or something.
Vera moved; Elsa shifted to watch, her brow furrowing. Just what was the other girl--- and now she was flipping. Flipping and then landing into something like a split. So she could dance; Elsa should've figured as much. This didn't discourage her earlier idea either; Vera would probably end up on the cheerleader squad or something like that. Joy.
The smile and look caught Elsa off-guard, making her blink in surprise. "Everyone can dance to some degree," she pointed out, shuffling her papers, even bending down to pick up Vera's packet. "I used to," she said, her voice softer, running her fingers. "I quit though, about a year ago, give or take..." Because Erika had been better at it. Elsa had failed during a recital and she hadn't reacted well to the public failure, especially since Erika had pulled her part off magnificently. They'd known which twin was which too; they'd had their hair done just so...

"Everyone can dance to some degree,"
She smirked, "No no no I didn't ask if you had the ability to, I asked if you actually did." She hadn't really said it to be smart or anything it was just that whenever Vera asked that specific question, everyone seemed to move around it somehow. As if dancing was something not everyone did or some dumb idea like that. Dancing was something of a serious thing for her, so serious that she wanted to start and run her own dance studio with workshop classes when she was older.
Her question was quickly answered when Elsa said she used to. Honestly, Vera was somewhat surprised. Elsa looked like the ballerina type or maybe she had some salsa skills stored in those slim hips of hers, maybe hip hop?
Stretching her arms above her head, she eyed Elsa. She didn't understand this 'I used to' or the whole 'quitting' thing. Those words didn't really exist in her vocabulary. Resting her hands on her hips, she gave Elsa a confused smile. "I-I don't understand. Quit? Why would you quit? I mean, I don't get how you just quit something that's created from your body." She chuckled. "You tried to quit walking too, huh?" Shots were thrown but Vera couldn't help it. It kind of felt like a slap in the face when people looked at what she loved too lightly as if it wasn't important enough.
